I think this story is one of my favorites out of the stories written by you. Mainly it's because you have written more here and have kept me on my toes through the entire thing. I can't wit for the other chapters to come out and hope you update this soon! I'm wondering if while Wes was going through Duo's bag he found his medications? I hope so. I don't want Duo to die simply from not taking his pills. Not that it'd be his fault, what with him all bound and thrust up in a closet and all...

Damn, this was hard to read. This chapter had me simultaneously cringing and cursing. Cringing because of what Wes was doing to Duo and cursing because Duo seemed to be falling back on all his old responses to Wes' brutality.
I have to,once again, credit your talent as a writer that you can have readers relate with a total psychotic sociopath like Wes. I totally got that this is the first time in his life he has ever felt anything for anyone beyond how he can use them. He's just as confused about his feelings as Duo though I don't think it will stop him from hurting Duo in the long run.

Poor Duo is so lost right now. He thinks just because Wes didn't brutalize him that that is an example of Wes' love. He never had a real example of love to compare it to so he wouldn't know the real thing but I see him sorting out some of this in his head. Even though he had the strength to say no to Wes' offer, I think Duo realized that five months with Heero and Name aren't going to erase eight years of physical and mental abuse. He has to face whether fall back into the familar or go forward into a frighteningly new future.

I want to express my appreciation for you contiuing this mammoth story. This is truly the type of story that could swallow your life. That you give consistent updates in addition to other stories plus have a real-life is wonderous.

so, Wes finally admitted to Duo how much he loved him(in a weird, obsessive, sociopathic way), and it really is sad that all the abuse left Dou so love starved that he was actually thinking of accepting it. I'd like to say good for Wes...but I hate his guts for doing what he did to Duo(and all the other people he abused) And with all this going on, I can't help but feel like Chris would go ape-sh*t and kill Duo if he found out about anything that happened in this chapter. He is very protective of Wes in a sociopathic bromance type of way.

And what do you mean with that comment at the end!! Is Heero not going to save him?! I mean Solo and all of them probably know where Wes lives and Heero could find them and ask! I would be so upset if Duo and Heero don't meet and finally tell each other that they love each other!(cause we all know they do) I can't wait for more!

OMG this story is fucking amaaaazing!

Oh this is a little request from me please please please? I know you've got Duo saying no to Wes about going away with him and thats great - you know like stand up for yourself and everything but I would absolutely adore if you'd consider writing a separate story for if Duo had actually said yes because he was too afraid of what Wes would do to Heero and Name and everything. I see a lot of domestic abuse, mind fucks and everything, not something I condone don't get me wrong but I adore how you've done Duo here and I could see so many story plots for it! And Wes leaving his businesses. He can say he will but I can see that he doesn't. Oh please please please write it for me? I will forever be your friend and I will even beta it for you if you need it!

    Your friend and #1 fan

Is it just me, or does Wes seem more talkative than he previously was? I dunno, I sometimes I forget what is going on in the long mind tangents. How will Heero find Duo without the GPS?! Maybe they GPSed the tazer? not likely, but I seriously have no idea how they would find him. And poor Duo is back in Wes' grip and now locked in a closet. I hope everything turns out ok for Duo!

Son of a mother! Like the snake he is,I knew that Wes was waiting for an opening to strike but Noventa threw me for a curve. Thought we'd seen the last of that weasel.I hope a comeuppance is planned for him.
I know this confrontation had to happen but it doesn't mean I have to like that it's happening. It just seems sometimes if it wasn't for bad luck,if you believe in that sort of thing, Duo wouldn't have any at all. The things he's been through just makes you want to wrapped him in cotton to always keep him safe. That's what makes you one helluva writer. You make the reader care what happens to the characters by forging an emotional connection.
But you are absolutely correct that he needs to face his demons before he can truly continue to move forward. The doubts that Wes' confession of love stirred up and the subsequent guilt he feels about even acknowledging those doubts keeps him bound to that dark place. All that and the survivor's guilt he feels about Sister Helen,Sunshine, and especially Yuki are working to tear down whatever confidence and self-esteem he builds. I just hope this kidnapping doesn't completely shatter him and that maybe he comes out of it with a better sense of his inner strength.

I love how you showcased Duo's emotional growth in this chapter. Before, when Heero was not near him,he would have spiraled into a full blown panic attack. This time, when he felt those negative emotions pressing in, he saw the reality of the situation and was able to calm down. And instead freaking out when Zechs was watching him,he got angry and refused to be intimidated.
The best was that he refused to let guilt overwhelm him. Instead of letting it take him to a dark place,he finally realized that a person's decision are their own and that they're are responsible for the consequences not him.
I totally understand his decision to go home alone. Even though possibly dangerous,it's his way showing he's unwilling to live in fear anymore. He re-asserting his independence and sense of self-worth. You did an awesome job on this chapter. Looking forward to the next update.

this chapter was a lot of "what if" scenarios. It is interesting to think about how both the good and bad things in Duo's life influenced the outcome. I'm very glad you updated cause I love this story! Thank you! >.

OMG! I thought you abandoned this story! I'm so glad to find out you didn't! I can't wait to see how the scene of Duo meeting Heero's granddad will go. An as for your little question at the end, I personally think the chemistry teacher did it in attempt to get Heero in trouble. Also, what high schooler would actually pay attention in chemistry class enough to know which chemical made fire burn slower and be harder to put out? Can't wait for the next chapter!

Wonderful update!*does a little happy dance* I'm so happy to see a new chapter. I can't begin to imagine how hard it was to shift gears from writing VSL to TRTK since they are such different stories. I think you did a great job keeping the characters intact. None of their reactions or thoughts seemed out-of-character with how you had written them in previous chapters.

I'm so glad that Name's father knew better than to believe Mizu's intentions were anything but self-serving. And yes he is small taters compared to the story's other bad guys and I'll be glad not to see the ass again^^. Speaking of asses,I really hope that AFF doesn't take down Roads because of story similarities. It's like closing the barn door after the horse has escaped. Looking forward to reading the next chapter.

P.S. Saw your picture of Lilu on FA. It was super adorable^_^.

For days I started reading this story and something kept interrupting. I'm only on Chapter four but I'm loving it alot! :D

BTW, Spanking a child with a belt is one thing but abusing a child is illegal. I was spanked, my mom was spanked and my friends were. It hurts but it's not really abuse HOWEVER, that one case where the child almost died... ugh that pisses me off. That's obviously child abuse. Damn legal system.

ohhh, I wonder if Heero is going to be forced to take the company!!! That would stink cause he would have to give up a lot of time with Duo! I hope that's not the case and that the council(and name's dad) decide that Mizu is just a sack of shit.

Thank you! It was wonderful to read how far Duo has come in his confidence and belief in himself. It was nice to read how he definitely feels like a family with Name and Heero now. Taking that last line as warning,I wonder what evidence Mizu has compiled against Name. I know it's going to be something that tested the bonds of Heero's and Duo's friendship. I wonder if he has dug up Wes or Chris. Gawd, that would be awful if he somehow threw that up in their faces. I get the feeling it's going to be something really bad. Anxiously awaiting the next chapter.
