I swear I keep re-reading this last chapter.  I really hope you don't kill Gohan.  (Besides...not keeping with canon there either if you do.)  Anyways, if Gohan can keep Beerus from killing him, I'm personally afraid he'll also have to keep Goku from killing him.  His intents were honest.  Beerus was fucking with his mind and it almost worked, but this time, Gohan had the control he needed, in the end.  I finally feel sorry for him.

This is going to sound really weird, but just because they are an alien hominid form similar to an existing earth species, does not mean that all body parts are going to have to be the same.  Beerus is catlike, but that doesn't mean he's a cat in all ways.  (Damned catty, entitled behavior, though...)  Besides, in the sphinx housecat (hell, in any housecat) the male you-know-what is less than an inch long.  If Beerus was truly built like that, Vegeta would have hardly had much to worry about, besides the sensation of sitting on a burr.

I wonder what would have happened if Saiyans had continued to evolve as fast as you indicate they do in your story.  Produced a rather disturbing image in my head.  And now, I've got to get to bed!

Ahhhh the damn cliff hangers. I LOVED how Vegeta said "our children" ever the tactical master mind and that Gohan realized that what he has already is far better than what he was trying for.  I am surprised at Beerus trying to rape Vegeta but I should have seen it coming. What the hell is going on with Goku! I can't wait to read what's coming up!  I feel like this chapter was kind of short,  but maybe that's just me.

On a side note,  very interestingwhat you put in about Beerus s senses in being able to tell that Piccolo was taking care of Vegeta children. I want to know what you have in mind for those kids.... hmmm

    Thanks for writing

I've read the new chapter three times now...once last night, and twice today when I was more awake to process it.

What else can I say!  More please!  Soon please!

Gohan's come quite a ways by now.  I think it is a smart move overall, that when it is all over, his memory of what is going on not be removed, or his instincts (and power) suppressed again.  Before, they had to remove the immediate threat Gohan was without killing him (even if they wanted to).  And Gohan was in for a fight this time, controlling the reawakened monster (and I don't mean Beerus).

If Gohan's genetic issues get passed on to any of his other descendants, I'd hope that they will all learn to control themselves and bring the inflence of your Beerus's evil to an end.

You know Pan is a female.  While I have no doubt she will be well trained and avoid her father's fate...I have two questions.  First, is it possible that male childbearers ever still had females for mates?  (Your early chapters did seem to imply that a mate's gender didn't matter in such an issue.)  Any of Vegeta's female children could pass on that male childbearing gene, as you told me once, and the possibility of this again happening in the future with other Saiyans!  Second, andit is related to the first, is is possible to overcome Beerus's meddling to make sure that in their descendants, future bonding stays on an equal basis?  I sort of hope you address that in the long run.

The other week when I saw Episode 55, I thought about this story and hoped you'd seen it.  I think that it is the reason why Old Kai was sealed in the Z-Sword.  He and Beerus got in an argument and Beerus knew he couldn't kill him, so he sealed him.  Punishing him without risking his own life.  Now that someone else is Supereme Kai, I wonder if that holds true still for Old Kai?  If Beerus was stripped of his power and sealed away somewhere, and someone else took his place, or if Beerus willingly stepped down, might be the way of getting out of their job without it killing their counterpart.

For your story, go ahead and kill him if you want.  Your Beerus turned into a scumbag and deserves it.  If you prefer to stay with canon, though, you might have a loophole.

Oh, um...before you do put up the next chapter, I hope you have watched Dragon Ball Super 55.  Whis says something rather important in that one concerning the Gods.

I am very anxiously awaiting the next chapter!...

I reread the last chapter, now that I had a bit more time to digest it more thoroughly.

On a strictly personal level, I have a serious problem with relationships that aren't on an equal, partnering basis.  I know what Beerus in your story did, and forbidding childbearing males to have their own power was his dictation, not a biological thing.  Still, I don't like the thought that Goku would have taken all that Vegeta had to offer and kept him shackled and hidden away all to himself, because I know of my own family's history.  My dad may have been a 'Nam vet but with his family, with my mother, he was VERY controlling, kept her from her family, never allowed her to go anywhere, and tried to use us kids and all his friends to monitor her every move.  He was verbally and physically abusive.  In a lot of ways he was a good and loving father and such, but...I don't ever want a relationship because of him, because I don't want to risk being put at someone else's mercy, ever.

It is one thing to me for two people to not want to be separated because they love each other and can't bear to be without each other, but for one to force the issue, or want to, and only not doing so out of regard for what the other had already gone through, maybe just rubs a bit too closely home for me here.  It's great as far as your story goes.  I'm so hooked on this story!  But, as Vegeta felt to himself in an earlier chapter, that sort of thing, "there was no place for it now".  I just hope that succeeding generations don't go by Beerus's mandates, and remember that love, bonding, mating....it is a partnership.

To be bonded, to love each other and want to always be together...that's bliss.  For one of them to achieve it by taking everything the other has to offer, love or no...that's one'sided, cruel, hypocritical, selfish, and agony.  It makes a mockery of a bond, even if it was with the original consent of the partner.  It sounds to me that, before Beerus made that rule, the partnerships between a Saiyan and a childbearing male were indeed on equal terms....but the God of Destruction had to interfere.  Mind you, that is how I interpreted it, anyways.

Keep it up!  I can't wait to read more.  Also, I'm sorry for the TMI; my family is very close but some things were just...very complicated.

Oh my god, this is so intense! What is Beerus doing to Vegeta?? And will this be the final showdown? You really set up a terrifying situation with Beerus's interest in Gohan's savagery. Did he bring Gohan there?! Ah, what is happening? Also, poor Whis! Serving a cruel master while also trying to keep his friends safe. So much drama. I love it.

That was....simply amazing.  I don't know what else to say.  Yet.  I don't wanna wait two weeks for the next chapter!  *whine whine*

Really.  I'm on the edge of my seat here.

Oh...I'm glad that Vegeta and Whis are truly enjoying a close friendship.  It's been so long since Whis was willing to risk caring about somenoe.  A single, vaulable, special someone can mean more than the entire set of universes to someone like Whis in your story.

Yay! So happy I could finally engross myself in this story again. It's so different now than it was in the beginning and I like the change. Vegeta finally conquering his fears against Frieza will help with the issues with Gohan, too. I still can't wait to find out what you do with Gohan, it seems to me that he has a key to the unfolding of the story but I could be wrong.

I've always thought that there's a strange relationship between Whis and Beerus and you play with the characters well. Surely Whis knows a thing or two more about what Goku and Vegeta are planning than he lets on. Beerus is too cocky to think that he can control these two Saiyans like he did the rest! I am so interested to find out with happens in these other dimensions and with Vegeta's brother!

I do see the changes in Goku that Tien was going on about and I can see why it rattles him, but I think that Goku finally understands that because he has such power, he must then accept the great responsibilites of it (Or the consequences there-of).

Each character has grown in some way or another, too, and I can't wait for the next battle. I do want to know how it's going to work out and if all of their fears will either diminish or come to the surface. Thanks for wrtiting,

    TristaML

You were right.  That was damned satisfying.  Moreplz!

Dad was buried two days ago with full Military honors.  I've had the stomach flu since then so it was only just now that I noticed the update. (i'm better now....24-ish hour bug type thing.)

When the day comes that you lose a parent....it will be damned hard...but I hope you have your family to see you through it, and ones sensitive enough to know when you need time alone to process it, too.

I hope you do have planned to write Vegeta's next pregnancy at some point.  He really needs to share that experience with Goku.  Maybe another daughter in the mix as well?  (Honestly, in the anime I can't wait for Bra to be born.  You saw those scenes, I'm sure, of Vegeta trainaing in the gravity room, determined to protect his family.  He can't stand of a timeline where his Bulma was murdered.  The birth of a daughter now means he'll be completely wrapped around her little fingers.)

I hope I see another update fairly soon!  I need the distraction.  Dad died two days ago.  I can't wait to see Freiza get what he so royally deserves....and for, hopefully, Vegeta to realize some things about himself.

When this site changed all that a while back I had to jump through hoops just to login.

Anyways, this last chapter sent chills up my spine and made me feel dirty, because Freiza, no matter whether or not he is truly male or (I've seen speculated) his species is asexual...well, Freiza, sexual or not, is a sick, sick bastard either way.

You are right.  I felt very much Vegeta should have been the one to completely off Freiza.  He deserved it.  And (spoiler alert if you haven't seen Super 52 yet), going by how absolutely pissed off he is in the training room and why, because Black killed Bulma in Future Trunks's timeline, I honestly think he ought to be the one to take Black down.  Threats to his family make Vegeta boil, and work with a single goal-to eliminate that threat.

Wow; they upgraded our ability to review!  (It's about time...)

This entire chapter made me feel very heartsick.  I hope Freiza gets what he deserves (and more; make Karma an utter bitch to him!), but I also hope Vegeta can overcome more of his demons.

I can't wait for the next chapter....hopefully soon.

What Whis didn't tell Vegeta that keeping a corporeal body means that each time Vegeta goes into heat, Whis has to suffer a fantastic case of blue balls as well due to how Vegeta's scent affects him.
