P.S. Or maybe Vegeta wanted to remember what it felt like not to be caged up? Let the dark side out just for a moment?

I am not really certain if Trunks could actually handel that version of Vegeta, even though he may think he can.

I don't think Trunks realized how close he came to an abrupt end. *shrugs*

Well, I guess both MT and Trunks have something to think about from their visits to Susan and David. Everything MT pointed out was obvious, but when Trunks turned the tables... ah, that was classic.

O.o That was getting a little hot and heavy there between Vegeta and Trunks. How very interesting that Vegeta would go that far only to stop. Hm... wonder what he's trying to prove and who he is trying to prove it to. His last statement was great!

Now I have to wonder what Vegeta's real thoughts and feelings are on the subject of 'Kakarott.' I don't know if those will ever be exposed in this format of a story. *sighs*

Great job as usual! LOL... your comments in the beginning of this chapter were fun! X's without the O's.

If that's love, it's one of the most degrading, psychotic, twisted and disgusting forms of it I've ever heard in my life... Yet I guess I should thank God that I, unlike David, was raised in a way that enables me to know and understand the difference.

I suppose Mirai is trying to show Trunks that no form of life, even the most tragic and misserable one, is completely devoid of feeling, and his is no different either, so he can't run or hide from emotions forever... On the other hand, perhaps it was a special way to show him that 'what goes around comes around'.

Even when I admit I uttery and, should I say logically (?) disliked the events happening in this chapter, I understood the topic. However, would you be offended if I humbly asked you to make a small pause from all the gore and sadistic? At least just for the next couple of chapters... I like this story, but my stomach's tolerance has a limit, and if you don't restrain the gory parts a bit I will probably just skip them over... You've given me material for al my future nauseas in the next couple of years. -_-

Besides, dealing with so many strong subjects like rape, sadist-masoquism, torture and such deep and unhealthy levels of mental insanity, obsession, self mutilation and pedophilia suffered by other characters is making Trunks look like a spoiled brat looking for the fun of flirting with danger, when in fact he knows mothing about life... I resist to believe it, that's the reason I try so much to figure out what could have happened to him. He kinda reminds me of the killer girl in the movie American Psycho 2, if you know what I mean: someone who was relatively normal until crossing paths with a psycho and almost becoming his victim, surviving only to become like their almost-killer...

This reveiw really should take more time than I have available to me, but I want to say this:

You and I talked about the meaning of love. I described it to you the only way that I knew how, and now, as I read this chapter, you've described it to me as you see it. The greatest enigma of human kind is that we love our misery. Not so much the object of it as the simple comfort of being stuck in the same pain day after day in a monotonous repetition of savagery. Is that love?

My answer is yes. Love of the misery allows for one to be able to dismiss the idea of happiness easily, and therefore, the misery becomes all we ever knew. Trunks will learn when he looks at his life that the monster inside of him is nothing more than a cheap imitation of the happiness he truly seeks.

Great chapter, sweetheart. Remember to take that first sweet breath when you come up out of the water.

I'm not going to lie to you for the sake of complimenting: I don't like where this story is heading. While I don't normally use such tired and worn out stereotypes when comment on work that you probably spent a very long time on, chapter 17 just felt... emo. It didn't go well with the rest of the story at all. I'm sorry, I don't like it.

Yes, Miria is certainly going for shock effect with this display of 'love'. I am actually surprised that Trunks is taking it so badly. I thought he was over shock. *shrugs*

I'd make this reveiw longer, but, although it was an excellent chapter, I think there are things I wish to forget.

    A MAZ ING !!!!!
this is quite possibly the most sick thing i've ever read. quite possibly the most addicting. where the hell did you get an idea like this?? crazy. i don't think you need the encouragement, but...continue.
in the begining, we see trunks as an ass(putting it lightly) but then the little hint of how he did feel at one point and then we learn about goten and OH!!!! this is just terrific.

Finally!!! An update! Bravissima! I think Trunks is so convinced that he shouldn't give a shit that when he does, he's confused and doesn't understand it. He sees compassion as weakness, and even though he's attracted to it, he hates it because it provides a facet to his personality that he's unwilling to accept. Great chapter, honey!

I have another theory: May be Trunks reacted so badly because he was once raped himself?

I remember in the Red Dragon movie, with Anthony Hopkins, Edward Norton and I think Ralph Fiennes, to save his son the detective (the character of Edward Norton) pretended to treat his son the way he knew Ralph Fiennes' psychotic grandmother had treated the killer when he was still a child, so that the killer (Ralph Fiennes) would see himself in the detective's son and thus be unable to kill him.

In other words, it is said sometimes psychos identify themselves with some people they see getting the same kind of treatment they themselves had suffered in the past, and that makes them unable to see these people as mere objects or 'things', it makes them unable to dissociate from their pain, and thus they are no longer able to hurt them.

That's why I think it might be the case that Trunks was raped, probably when he was a small child, and he was perhaps even left to die afterwards... but somehow survived. The question, then, would be by who. It is obvious Trunks never got the chance to get his own revenge.

Uh oh, don't tell me it was Vegeta when Babidi or Bebi brainwashed him... and that Vegeta doesn't even remember. Though it would somehow explain Trunks' twisted fascination with his father.

A second candidate could be... urg, Yamcha, and definitely when Trunks was still a child, wanting to get revenge on the Saiyan Prince and the woman who "betrayed" him... That would explain why Trunks is so adamant about saiyajins not following the human ways.

Well, I knew before that Trunks was going to kill those men. I just had no idea how bruttally he was going to do it. Ick!

Miria's words certainly held some truth to them. I am glad they seemed to have gotten to Trunks for at least a moment. Even though, after his son/father chat, he likes to think he has his mask back in place... well, the seeds already been planted. I just hope it doesn't choke him when it starts to bud.

Yes, he certainly is trying to get back into his 'normal' routine by taking advantage of Vegeta's off moment.

And Dang IT! We still haven't gotten to hear all of Gohan's story. He certainly is a mess though. He really needs help, but I don't think Miria is going to be the one who can help him.
