Oh my! The suspense...my heart lept into my throat when i read that last sentence...wonderful job as always. I look forward to the next chapter. That's not an urge to update, just a simple statement of pleasure.

that's a horrible, horrible place to stop it. Just thought I'd let you know, because... well, it's mean, that's all. Plain and simply mean to stop there. Fine, I'll just wait for an update, but it better not be too long it coming, I tell you...

I like this a lot. For once an Ed/Al that feels natural, with careful progression. I'm not a big fan of Elricest for a lot of reasons, even though I would hesitantly call myself an Ed/Al shipper. The sad fact is that too many authors force it, but your story does not, and for that I'm grateful.

The characterization is very good, though I'd say Ed curses a bit too much. Sure, he's been known to drop an f-bomb or two in tense situations, but he really does it pretty rarely (unless he's talking to Mustang, of course). Aside from that, I think this is great. Chapter 9 was painful to read. I was cringing during that last part, with the glass shards. Be careful not to rush ahead too much with the story and forget to deal with just what your fic promises--the aftermath. Two years of imprisonment and torture is going to take a long time and a lot of effort to get over, I imagine. (Oh, and kudos for not bring sexual abuse into the mix. It's way overdone.)

Give us some more "aftermath," take the romance nice and slow, and keep up the good work. Looking forward to new chapters.

Great chapter! I love the interplay between the conversation over the groceries (milk - oh the horror!), the tender declarations of love, and Al's exasperation with Ed about him attempting to transmute himself. 8-) I've been curious to findout what Ed had been transmuted with. Thanks for including it. 8-)

It's amazing, you write so well, updating every few days (yeah!) and are able to keep the quality of your story and writing at a very high level.

Lovely chapters, just lovely. This was my favorite line:
And when a hesitant thumb ghosted along the skin of his face, tracing the damp tract, he was too caught up in his brother’s shaky smile to notice.
That was just glorious, almost poetry. You have a wondeful grasp of their characters, i.e. Al's neat suitcase, his steady, calm acceptance and Ed's passionate nature. I look froward to reading more, thank you again for posting.

My. The memories of pain, torture and horror Ed endured were beautifully written. Very well done. It makes it easy to feel protective of Ed, and, for me, wish the bastard responsible to have been killed in the cave in.

That Al is there, so supportive, loving and caring of Ed, adds much to this chapter and the previous one. Ed is usually so reserved with his feelings. Being able to let go and finally accept showing his feelings (the horror and pain he has gone through) to Al helps in describing the humanity of both characters.

You've done a very good job!

wow. you're a much better author than i am. extraordinary fanfic. but why do we all feel this need to torture edward so? poor kid...although i can't really say anything. i've done it myself, in my own fic.
anyway, really love it, keep up the good work!

    Wow.
Read three and four one after the other cause I couldn't stand the tension...by the time I got to the scene where Ed and Al found each other and they started crying, I was crying too.
And the horrible experiements...this is developing so nicely.

    Just re-read chapter two.

I loved it, of course. Very well done. You have a such a quite, powerful tone to your writing. I love the desolation of the town Rush, which perfectly mirrors Al's state of mind and the state of his heart...

This review is for the first chapter, which I just re-read. I first encountered this story about a week ago, and read through the first two chapters very quickly (I was at work reading fanfiction, so I wasn't able to stop and smell the roses, so to speak.) And since then I wanted to come back and read more slowly, more carefully, to fully appreciate what you have here.

This is excellent writing. I love the clean, quick opening chapter. I thoroughly love and enjoy Alphonse's anguish for his missing brother. The dialogue is realistic, emotionally loaded and concise. This first chapter does a wonderful job of pulling me in and keeping me interested, and I look forward to reading the rest with the same careful attention.

I look forward to reading it all, so take your time finighing it. I love the notion of Elricest for this anime, and this has such a lovely feeling to it...deep emotion and caring, which I prefer in a taboo subject fic over simple porn.

Thanks for writing. I'm off to chapter two...
