Wow, I can’t believe you updated already!! Thanks so much for the dedication!! Really, that’s very sweet of you :) I’m so excited that I can hardly sit still. Now, onto the story!!

“They were gone. I had done this. This was MY fault.”

Not even a minute into reading and I’m already starting to tear up!! Really, I just feel so badly for Goku in this story (both Gokus actually). I just want to hold him… poor, poor Goku. Actually crying now…

“He craved bloodshed (as I did),…”

I love this quote. I simply love how you remind us all, in a subtle way, that Goku still does crave violence, even if he doesn’t act on it like Kakarot does. Well, not usually anyway.

“We weren't monsters; we were men.”

God, this chapter just has so many profound statements that I’ve already started to pick and choose which ones I’m going to mention in my review. That’s just the point of it all, isn’t it? The world isn’t perfect (no one is), but that’s what makes it so damn beautiful (paraphrasing Roy Mustang, Fullmetal Alchemist). They aren’t monsters; they aren’t angels either, celestial beings of infinite goodness (which is what Goku’s ‘friends’ sometimes seem to think). They are only flesh and blood, mortal and easily fallible.

"Then you realize I'm not him," I stated the obvious, moving just a little closer to him. "And that you have nothing to fear in me."

Ah, I’m glad that people do see through the different hair and eye coloring and notice that Goku looks just like Kakarot. This makes me wonder if Sam knows too…

Terrorists," He whispered the word like he hated it. "let loose a stream of rats, carrying the Ebola virus, right into a series of schools."

OMFG!! O_O!! Seriously, my mouth fell open and everything!! Hell, it’s STILL open!! Yet another amazing twist Camaro. Something so simple, yet so devastating and almost too horrible to imagine. And yet, it could happen so easily the thought gives me shivers!

"You said the word "Vegeta"," he said. I was too astonished to even ask how he knew that name, rising with him into the sky. “So?" I asked, flying next to him, careful to keep my power level as low as I could. "So, it's a word I've heard him use before," He answered, being too cryptic for my frustration to handle.”

Gyah!! Too many mouth-opening parts!!! Don’t get me wrong, I love them, but gyah!!!! Let me guess before I read any further… dreams, right?

Ha Ha!! Yes, score one for me (holds fingers in DBZ victory pose)!!!

"Give the whole 007 thing a rest eh?"

*blink blink* Huh?? Answer whizzes by over head. Oh well… Wait!!! I get it!!! Bond thing (feels stupid for typing this but also pleased that the answer hit her over the head like ChiChi with a frying pan before too long).

"He always did listen to you," Krillin smiled slightly. "Despite everything, he still does."

Hmmm… I can’t shake the feeling that this might be somehow important later on.

“They had one united enemy and so they forgot petty squabbles amongst each other and banned together to stop that enemy.”

Yep, but again, war can have its ups and downs. I can also see a mirror of what’s happening in the US right now, or perhaps more closely right after 9/11, when scenes like this are going on. I love how you add that little bit of real life current events. It strikes closer to home that way and again adds even more realism. Really, I think that’s why this story is so shocking to me. It’s real, in a sense. I love this!!

"But what about Bulma!" I insisted, hating the fact that I agreed with some of what Kakarot had done. "Surely she wouldn't have such a part in all this. It doesn't make sense!"

Well, I have a feeling my questions about Bulma are about to be answered!! Also, I’ll admit that I’ve thought the same thing Goku does right here. I agree with some of what Kakarot is doing, but I find myself cringing as well. Ah, society’s leash is a short one, huh?

O_O!! Again with the jaw dropping. Bulma and Kakarot got married??!! I just didn’t see that happening after how badly ChiChi and Gohan’s deaths affected him.

“But know this," he looked at me seriously. "as much as Bulma loved him, he NEVER loved her."

Ouch!! Really, that hurt me, and I wasn’t even the person in question!!

Ugh. I just don’t know who to feel more sorry for: Krillin, because I’ve been in that position many times where two people you care about are fighting and you feel like a helpless coward or Bulma, unrequited love, on top of realizing that she was merely a tool for the deaths of thousands.

    “That he WOULD have perfection.”

Too bad he has no idea what perfection really is.

Ewwww… and oh God, I can’t believe he killed Bulma??!!!

"Well," Kakarot breathed sexually. "Hello gorgeous."

Ummm… Kakarot DOES know that he’s essentially looking at himself, right??!! I’m suddenly reminded of how gorgeous Goku thought Kakarot was earlier…

Excellent chapter, and thanks again for dedicating it to me :) I cannot wait to hear how this conversation plays out!!

O.O Well, we certainly learned a whole lot from Goku's and Krillian's conversation. 0.0 Wow...Bulma and Kakarott married, and then he ended up killing her...his last connection with humanity.

And NOW Kakarott is there! Yikes...and called Goku 'gorgeous'. I can't wait to see the next chapter!

Ah!! Last new chapter!! NO!!!! Okay, I’m good to go now :)

“It had always been something I admired about humans: their adaptability.”

Me too actually. One of the good traits evolution gave us.

“The human ability to adapt to things they never imagined they could, always represented to me, a supernatural spirit within them. They never even realized their own strength of self until they were forced to find it.”

I just wanted to say that this was beautifully written here.

“I almost gasped aloud, realizing that my eyebrows were higher and I was gawking at her. She laughed lightly, patting my face. "I'm old darling," She said with a smile. "But not that old."

I almost died laughing!! Although, at the same time, I did wonder how no one saw that, even with different coloring, they look exactly the same.

“What had happened here? I looked to the side. Where was Chichi? And why couldn't I sense Gohan?”

*mutters* I think I have a pretty good idea. *inner voice* Shhhhh!!

I’m reading May 28, 1994 and WTF?? Are you trying to tell me that Goku was GOKU, OUR Goku before he turned into this tyrant??!! What the fuck happened here??!!

This is completely insane. Just insane. Well, if Kakarot WAS Goku at one point, it’s a good thing Goku didn’t give anyone that name. I can also understand Bulma helping him now a little bit more.

July 16, 1994. They don’t have colds, do they.

Oh God. How awful. I can’t believe how awful this is. Of course Kakarot keeps families together if he had to watch his die.

Oh GOD!!! That was just so fucking sad. Although, I now understand the situation with the world leaders better. He made them pay. Goku died and became Kakarot. God, how sad!! Now, is this universe happening during the same time as the one Goku left? Is there a chance for him to go back and stop that from happening? Is it going to happen in their world or just this one?? SO MANY QUESTIONS!!!!! You’re terrific Camaro; don’t ever change!!

Chapter seven!! I’m almost caught up!! Really, I’m more disappointed by that than happy, but, at the same time, I need to read what happens next!!

“Someone was standing over me, asking the cliche "are you ok's" when it was painfully obvious, that uhh, hell no, I wasn't.”

OMG, I know exactly what you mean. Well, really, who doesn’t? But really, even though I appreciate that people are trying to be nice, do I really look like I’m okay when I’m puking my guts out? Sad thing is, our society is so socially polite that people feel obligated to ask that, even when they don’t really want to. It’s a vicious cycle.

"Where have you BEEN the last ten years?! Uhh..." I swallowed, squinting in concentration. "A.... Coma?"

*snicker* Nice one Goku. It’s just so like him, isn’t it?

“I looked at him blankly, staring at the small patch of metal embedded beneath the soft skin of his flesh. "My time card," He informed. "My 14 hours is up. Time to go home."

Their time cards are imbedded in their skin??!! It makes sense, economically, but how awful!!

“You know," I sighed. "I guess Albino will have to do."

LOL. You know, I wonder why he didn’t say Goku?

“Her little hand was in my strands of hair, sifting through them as she giggled delightfully. As much as I knew I liked Sam, I was falling pretty quickly in love with his wife.”

No comment. :P I just want to say how absolutely absurd and normal this whole scene is as opposed to the one that just happened before it. It really brings this into sharp focus, the contrast, and I really love that.

“He didn't think that people were created to live like that, the rich prospering and the poor just scrapping by. He balanced everything out, put everyone on everyone else's level. No rich, no poor.”

*winces* While everyone says that they want an egalitarian society, I don’t think they have this in mind. Sadly, this is most likely the only way that it would work too.

Bulma’s alive and helping Kakarot. I’m not really surprised, but I still don’t like it. Hmmm… I’m not really sure what to make on his philosophy about families. On the one hand, living through the death of a loved one is a horrible pain that never completely goes away. On the other hand, murdering whole families to save them from that pain is psychotic.

'A human life has no purpose if it cannot complete 10 hours of labor towards the earth that spawned it.'

Freaky how that seems to be our philosophy in the US nowadays.

“I didn't sleep a wink the whole night.”

No, I don’t think I would either. This is insane. I’m so completely caught up in this new world. This is fantastic Camaro. Onto the last new chapter!!

Ah! Only three more chapters to go!! *sniff* They go by too fast :)

“I wanted to wake up now.”

“Run Spot run. Run away from it all.” LOL. I love how my music just seems to coincide with this story. Even better is that I have it on shuffle, so it’s completely random. These are lyrics from the song “Dog and His Master” by Marcy Playground.

“I'd never felt so pathetically human in all my life. This is what it must feel like everyday, I mused. Confused, scared, helpless. This just sucked.”

Yep. Pretty much just summed it up in a nutshell.

“It was close now, yet I sensed nothing within it that didn't scream evil. Even Vegeta wasn't this messed up.”

This struck me as funny, in a really ironic sort of way. The guy has no clue he’s talking about himself.

“He touched the back of his head, a gesture that looked JUST like mine, laughing in an embarrassed tone.”

Oh, that’s just brilliant there!! How horrible to see such a familiar expression on a tyrant!! Oh!! AND he’s a drug addict!!??!! This just keeps getting better and better!!

“I realized, he was absolutely one of the most beautiful things I'd ever seen in my entire life, and that realization, nearly knocked me to the ground.”

LOL. This had me chuckling just for the sheer egotism, but not, because it should be considered egotism but it’s not because of the absolutely bizarre circumstances going on.

And another chapter is gone. That last part was just plain cruel. Of course, that was the whole point, non??

Chapter five starts out with rage. Gee, I wonder why ever that could be!! *still seething - gnawing on Roy Mustang pillow*

“I had wrecked his beauty and I love that even now.”

Hmmm… this reminds me of that quote in “Fight Club” where he says, “I just wanted to destroy something beautiful” after busting that guy’s face open. The same drive to destroy something beautiful and make it ugly too.

“So I wrenched my hand back one more time, thrusting it forward into the cavity that roughly still resembled a nose. He was like roadkill, embedded into ground at least 6 inches from the surface, making all sorts of hissing, gurgling noses.”

Ewww… gag. Disgusting. Great work here!! Oh, interesting side note: “My Immortal” by Evanescence came on my laptop while reading the part where Goku turned Vegeta into “roadkill.” It was interesting to listen to then, because I have never completely understood this song before, but it made perfect sense here.

*snicker* Okay, good mood restored by Goku trying to figure out why all the “workers” are afraid of him.

“You would have thought I'd just grown a dangling set of steaming testicles on my chin or something!”

LOL, OMG - just LMAO!! I actually did a double-take, read it again, and barked out laughing. Oh God, that was GOOD!!

Wow!! This scene where Goku meets up with Yamcha and Krillin is so sad really. I feel sorry that they never got to know THIS Goku, only Kakkarot (sp?).

“No," I whispered it aloud. "Vegeta."

Somehow, I don’t exactly think so. Wow, so that’s what Earth’s like now. Interesting how there’s ups and downs to it like every society. I love that; it really adds a sense of realism. Onto the next one!!

Now, chapter four!! I can’t believe that you have eight chapters up already. I’m so happy!!

“I'm not sure, but losing the blood beneath your fingernails for no apparent reason doesn't strike me as healthy.”

Ummm… no, it shouldn’t because it isn’t. In fact, it’s the opposite of healthy.

“So I gave them weaknesses. I gave them a childlike mind behind the monstrous strength, and while they repeatedly chose to scold me for it, they loved it. They didn't fear me and I wasn't isolated from them.”

That’s just such a brilliant reasoning for why Goku acts the way that he does when he’s not fighting. After all, we don’t usually fear our own children, even if we sometimes should. Really, terrific insight.

BTW, I just totally cannot believe that Vegeta is the one saying, “I love you” first. For some reason, maybe from reading Monster and Monster 2, but it still just blows my mind.

WHAT?! He freakin’ told his family??!!! What the Hell?? *looks around confused before continuing to read intently*

HE TOLD HIS FRIENDS TOO!!!???!!! *O_O* Why? WHY?? Hmmm… just realized that I sound like Chi Chi. Also, I have a horrible feeling that Vegeta was lying to him or something bad. *crossing fingers that it’s not true*

Goku’s flying back to Vegeta, and I’m actually cringing because I don’t know what to expect.

Oh, OH!! Oh, I just fucking KNEW it!! Damn you Vegeta!! You utter ass!!!!! BTW, Camaro, great writing here - suspense is right on and the pain is palpable.

*cough cough* Ladies and gentlemen!! May I introduce, for your personal entertainment this evening, the bitch, drama queen Vegeta!!!!!! *crowd cheers as Vegeta flips them off*

Well, at least Vegeta confessing his love first makes more sense now. There’s the bastard we all know and love!!

Oh, yay! Bitch, drama queen Vegeta is back!! *please insert sarcasm here*

Oh poor, poor Goku!! He really is naïve here.

Awesome chapter!! I want to say more, but I really want to read the next chapter!! So, just know that I thought it was awesome as always :)

And here I am at Perfection, just like promised!!

“I didn't want all my desperation thrown down in ink, like somehow, by not writing it, it wouldn't be solidified truth.”

Hmmm… interesting. Technically, it’s true no matter what. However, as far as history goes, we only remember what’s written down or told in folk tales. And I can hardly see this as being an appropriate tale for children.

Wow, poor Goku. I can imagine kissing someone, someone you’ve known for a long time, and then just BAM! You’re in love with them. Who hasn’t had that happen to them?

"Slaughter them," He told me, seeing my hesitance. "Kill them all." And we had.

Holy shit. Have you ever seen the movie, The Boondock Saints? This just reminded me so much of that movie that I could picture it. BTW, if you have not seen it then I highly recommend. It’s brilliant.

“I think even at the time, I realized my conscious would punish me for it later.”

Well duh. A few things human excel at: repression, denial, guilt, and rationalization.

“I never knew I could be so primal and sadistic.”

Yes, well, don’t forget masochism dear. Ah… there it is!

“I could feel the mass of muscle that surrounded my gorey fingertips, the bones not far beneath.”

I think you meant gory :) Also, ewwwwww…

"I love you," He'd panted against me. "I love you and I love you."

Wow. *blink blink* I never, in a million years, expected him to say that. Nice ending, it was just such a twist :) Now, onto the next chapter!!

I wasn't really sure about the ebola thing in the chapter before this -- it seemed kind of... odd for a saiyajin to do his killing so indirectly. However, I think this chapter helped clear that up. I really liked his journal entries -- they struck just the right tone.

O.o Um...The journal entries started out sort of mudane...and then, yikes. What happened? I mean, I know what happened, Chichi and Gohan got sick and died, but how? Gohan's half sayian!

Well, this would certainly change Goku. Enough to make him want to be Kakarott...the sayian he learned he was.

Jessie...that surprised me. She knew, and yet she didn't freak out about it. *sighs*

Looking forward to the next one!
