    chapter 13

through the whole thing, i knew that mustang was going to take it all too far, but i never thought that ed's initial strike against him would be mostly accidental. and yet, that fit in so well with what you were trying to point out. tragic, but beautifully told. you've done some really wonderful work here.

So it wasn't completely intentional, poor Ed. I had a feeling it might have had something to do with Al. I would definitely be suspicious walking into the office seeing Al sitting on his lap. I think Mustang was a little too sure at that point. He didn't even seem worried that Ed, knowing what he knows, might freak out on him. Oh well, at least now he can't hurt anyone anymore.

Though I find I wonder if something had happened to Mustang when he was younger. He seemed to be indicating something when Ed made the comment about fathers not doing 'that' to their sons. Makes you almost feel sorry for him. Just makes you wish he'd tried harder to stay away from Ed. Even if he had to avoid contact with kids altogether, sort of like what Ed was trying to do with Al. But I guess Ed was somewhat lucky, he had his love for Al keeping him from doing anything he'd regret and hate himself for. He already had enough to hate himself for, though none of it was his fault.

Anyways I just can't wait to see what they'll do with Ed now that they know why he killed Mustang, now that they know what Mustang had been doing to him for so many years. I hope they don't punish him, or at least punish him too badly. He deserves a break and he needs help, and I hope they give him that help. And I hope they don't separate him from Al, they need each other.

I knew it! I knew Al would be involved in some way! As always beautifully written and I love how you capture the after panic of everything. its a classic example and throughly thought out from what I can tell. I wonder how Riza's going to react to any of this..or if anyone is really gonna believe Ed's story

Your story certainly captures the plethora of emotions that oocur when a child is hurt that bad...I feel really sad when I read your story but in a (sick?) way relieved that as Mustang died he couldn't hurt Edward/Al anymore.Waiting for your epilogue...I hope it gets wrapped up nicely. Your writing is...amazing!!

This moment right now is the epitome of the sound of silence. There are no words to express the many emotions raging thru me right now. I'm crying, I'm panting, my heart is racing, my hands are shaking, my stomach is in knots. I am an emotional wreck. I was filled with excitement and dread when I got the email notice of a new chapter. I knew what was coming (Roy's death [God it hurts to write that!! T_T]) and was both eager and apprehensive to read the chapter, a chapter that was read with my hands over my mouth while muttering, "Oh my God", over and over and over again. This is a superbly well-written powerful chapter. *sniffle* If you'll excuse me, I need to be alone with a box of tissues for a few moments. *begins to cry for Ed and mourn for Roy*

Wow...what can I say or write. Excellant chapter. I think you accurately showed the anguish of an abused child and abuser and their complex relationship. The last confrontation of Ed and Roy was well done. Everything was there: their intricate relationship, their angst, Ed's dependicies-growth-and rebellion. You did a great job. One of the sad parts to this story is that no one seems to know what really happened between Ed and Roy (which Ed would like to keep a secret). Roy still comes across as a good guy. And poor Al will also be haunted. Maybe later Al will start to understand when he is older but who knows. Well done. So sad. So tragic. So real.

ah, I'm kind of confused about chapter eleven. When Ed accidentally does those things to Al, doesnt he realize what he's doing or is it just one of those lost in thought moments? You have a great consistency of well written chapters though and well...I think you Should really write a book or something of the like because the way you write these events is deep. Thanks for writing it, you're one of the few that have the guts and loyalty to the story to write and finish it. I'm sorry that it's so exhausting for you, its not easy to write about these...experiences. ah, i write like im a grown up hehe. =] Please send me notifications on new updates. Thank you!

I have to say it's gotten to be nearly impossible to find any good fiction anywhere, in any genre, these days. I also have to say that this story is one of the very few I still look forward to reading anymore. A lot of thought goes into this story, and it involves a lot more than any other Ed/Roy abuse-type one I've seen. I want to know what's next! But I don't want it to end! I dunno! AHH!
    Write more...?
    Pleeeeeaaaase...?

I forgot to add my email since i dont know if you can see it or not of if you feel particularly lazy and not go check my account on FF.net. its juujuubean@yahoo.com Please please send me a notice when you update. I want to know how this ends..and somehow I'm getting this vibe..Most everyone is thinking that its Roy who push's Ed to the breaking point by some way or another. but I think it might be something else. I think, now this is purely my own mind, I think that because of his mind set that Ed does fall victem to that horrible cycle and eventualy does something to his brother. Perhaps push's to far and hense why Al is tramatized. And when the realization hits just what he did Ed finaly snaps and kills the entier cause from which this stems, Roy Mustang...Am I close?

Hey I've reviewed a few of your other things on FF and I finaly had the time to come here to read your other stories and I've got to say. You've got me hooked. I'm litteraly so drawn into this story I can hardly wait for the next chapter. my minds a whirle. you've got the issue of the abuse down really well its almost scary. its hard for me to read this at certain parts though because I went through the same thing as a kid. My uncle...But he was finaly convicted and I've been attending therapy for quite some time after it. they said that I've improved alot over the time and now I can openly share what happend to me without the fear of thinking that I'll be punished for telling. I'd like to know where do you get your sorces, if you have any, over how a child/individual reacts to such treatment?
