Uh oh. Trouble in paradise. :( It really is bad of Roy to give Ed such mixed signals like this. He's just making this harder on Ed, kissing him so sweetly one minute then going all business on him the next. Damn Roy and his stubborn pride! Instead of thinking that you're breaking up and coming up with reasons/excuses why you're suffering, how about trying to salvage what you've got before it's too late, Roy? Seriously! Would it kill him to drop a hint or two about how to do this dating thing? Ed doesn't know what he's doing and is obviously struggling. *sigh* All this misunderstanding is just killing me. so sad. I hope it doesn't drive a permanent wedge between them. T_T

""I see you’re working hard as usual," he [Roy] said and thought guiltily of his own paper work waiting for him back in his office." *snerk* That's a joke right? Roy? Feeling guilty about ignoring paperwork?? *bursts out laughing* Yeah right! Roy avoids reports like the plague! XD I wonder sometimes how the man manages to keep his job. :)

""Okay, Fullmetal, I’ll let it drop for now, but it better not be something that I’m going to have to cover your ass for later." At that, Ed smirked and said smartly, "You like covering my ass."" Oh yes indeedy do he does! :) How can Roy think they're breaking up if Ed is saying things like this to him?? ""You could cover it... tonight..." Ed whispered." Come on Roy! Think! If somebody doesn't want you, they don't offer themselves up like this! Flirt back dammit! UGH! Hey, isn't Roy supposed to be acting like the woman here? He wants Ed to court him right? Shouldn't he be acting a little bit flirtatious to get and keep Ed's attention? It's what we ladies do. Maybe he's trying to do this with a few kisses and caresses but it's just not working out right. Obviously a strong seme like Roy can't play the part of uke very well at all. I don't know. Ed just needs a little encouragement to find his inspiration. Maybe if Roy tried a different tactic he wouldn't be suffering a three week dry spell! :) Ya gotta give a little to get a little! *sigh* At the rate they're going, it'll be Valentine's Day before they have their date. *smirk* I don't think either one of them can make it another three weeks! XD

Oh, so sad. They've drifted apart, and Roy's completely in the dark as to why. I feel so bad for him, especially since he's willing to admit his feelings for Ed are more than just wanting to have sex with him. I'm still reading and loving this. It's great.

LOL!! Ed should know better than try and outdo Roy! The man is a master at bluffing and manipulating! :D Ed has really set himself up for a challenge now! I wonder if he'll give Roy flowers like Roy gave him when this whole crazy New Year's date started. That would count as a gift right? It'll be interesting to see just how well Ed knows, or does not know!, Roy. :) Why did Roy even take Ed to that fancy restaurant when he already knew that that type of environment is uncomfortable for Ed? Roy knows Ed likes a much more casual atmosphere (as evidenced by the burgers that first date and Ed chowing down on "cheap party food") so why drag him into that stuffy place? Not the best way to court someone, Roy! :) New Year's or not, I'd have been just as miserable as Ed was. Roy is a completely shameless flirt tho. Ten women while Ed danced? What? Were they lined up at his table waiting their turn to chat him up? jeez. Everybody in the club musta been trollin'! :D I just bet that when they entered the club and Roy shoved money into Ed's pocket that he copped a feel! LOL! I would expect no less from him! At least in the end, Ed got to briefly dance with Roy. That was nice! The kissing in time with the countdown was great! Roy drives better than he dances?? That's a scary concept!! :) I wonder if Roy will be able to control his libido when he drops Ed off at his place. They're both already horny and ready to go. Maybe Ed can try and con Roy into doing something and ultimately get out of going thru with the date thing! On second thought, nah, Roy's a determined little cuss and is enjoying watching Ed squirm too much. the bastard! ;)

*clicks where the Next Chapter button should be, but can't find it, settles for Review instead*

Heh, that's not bad at all. Although reading the dialog twice is a little... 'annoying' isn't exactly the word I'm looking for, but it's close. And you do a really good job keeping the repetition to a minimum between the two. Other than that, it's really good. I can't wait to find out exactly what Ed has in store...

It's everything I was expecting from ZaKai, and now I'll have to look around and see what else kikiyo has written...

I told you I'd read this and didn't get to review. I really love this. I think it's such an interesting idea. I love where this story is going, and I'm jealous that you and kikiko came up with this. It was great to wsee Ed's perspective, and then Roy's, seeing why each character said what he did, behaved the way he did. I have to say I am impressed that Ed's showing maturity and that Roy's having such a difficulty dealing with it. Can't wait to see what else will come of it.

Hey. Shhhh. Come here. I wanna tell you a little secret. *whispers* I like your part of the story the best! *giggles* Being a huge Roy fan it was inevitable that I'd prefer Roy's POV to anything else! :) My favorite line, "You have plenty of ‘whine’ I don’t see why you need more." LOL! You could have knocked me over with a feather when Roy apologized to Ed! *gasp!* Say it's not so! Roy Mustang can actually be wrong AND admit it?!? What is the world coming to? XD I really like how Ed's changed the dynamics of their relationship by acting more grown up. It's got Roy completely off balance and he has to struggle to find his footing again and figure out how to deal with it all. It's good for them to not get too complacent. :) I can't wait to find out what Ed's got planned for after dinner!! :D

P.S. It completely astounds me that you can write this lovely little romantic story and be working on The Sound of Silence at the same time. These two stories couldn't be further apart from one another and yet you do an amazing job on both! This is why you write stories and I just read 'em! :)
P.P.S. I'm the only one who reviewed? That makes me sad. :( I mean seriously, how hard is it to click that little link down there anyway? tsk tsk tsk. Shame on you people! If my lazy tail can do it, you can too. L8R! :)

Hey! Like I said in Kikiko's review, I don't think I've ever read a story that works in tandem with another author's story quite like this one does! This is awesome! I've never understood the language of flowers thing. Who came up with the rules of what each and every flower is supposed to mean anyway? I mean, there are thousands of types of flowers, who had the time and dedication to assign meanings to each and every one of them? How did people ever remember all the meanings? Blows my mind. Anyway, all rambling aside :D, the differences in the POVs is fascinating! And not just because you get to see inside each person's head either. The way that you and Kikiko have each written your stories is ever so slightly different and that imparts a slightly different meaning to everything said and done in each story. It reflects the differences in your styles and thinking as well as the differences between Roy and Ed. This should prove to be an interesting experiment indeed!! :D Love it! I love the way you've written Roy! He's my favorite character! (And what a character he is! LOL!!) Can't wait to find out what Ed has planned for after dinner! ;)
