This is as OOC as you can get with Roy Mustang and Edward. Listen, they\'re not even friends and they just generally don\'t like dealing with each other.
There\'s no way these two would be fucking since Ed isn\'t interested in having a lover and Roy isn\'t a man who\'d go after a sixteen year old boy of a lower
rank. Please remember the millitary setting, that\'s very important.

I just got into FMA about a week ago. I was wondering when someone was going to write some yaoi smut! *big grins* Great job writing the tension between Ed and Roy. I like the whole idea of Ed being the reluctant lover. Very much in character... ~_^ Now, I have to take a cold shower...

First, I would like to quickly disclaim this story; I wrote it for a friend, at her request, with no premise to make it work nor any preface to explain how Roy and Ed got together by perfectly consensual means. Given these facts, it\'s perfectly understandable how a conscientious lady like yourself would dislike this fic. However, I would like to take a few moments to attempt to defend myself.

I don\'t intend to offend you with this review, this is just the honest way I feel about it after having read it with what I thought was an open mind.~

I can understand how this would squick you. Many people are squicked by that aspect of their supposed relationship (one that certainly cannot and would not happen in the series) - and I don\'t e yoe you for being bothered by this - obviously, a relationship between a 29-year-old and a 16-year-old in real life is something to worry about, or at least wonder about. However, I don\'t understand what you\'re getting at with the whole \'legal in certain states\' thing - being legal in the US and being legal in the made-up world of FMA really has nothing to do with each other. ^^; If you really want to know, I picked that age because it sounded like a nice, round number to me, and an excuse to let Ed grow another inch or so - not to clear any legality issues. I suppose that makes it worse, in a lot of ways, but there you have it.

Er ... here, I\'m going to have to guess that I failed to get something across in this fanfiction. I was trying to show that (1)it\'s not the first time they\'ve had sex, and (2)what\'s got Ed kind of \'eh? eh?\' here is that it\'s Roy\'s office - it\'s not the sex that\'s throwing him so much as where it\'s at. I didn\'t mean to portray that Ed felt like he had no choice here (although Roy is pretty much shameless in getting Ed into the mood). If that\'s what it seemed like to you, I apologize.

~There is nothing sexy, or entertaining about someone using their position of power over a minor (or even a 16 year old) in order to coerce them into sexual relationships which they are not ready for.~

Totally with you there - but personally, I think that if any 16-year-old is going to be capable of judging himself ready for a relationship, it\'s going to be Ed, who was forced to grow up very quickly. For me, the issue of age has to be put back in favor of looking at maturity - and in my opinion Ed is mature enough, if he tries to be, to decide whether or not he wants to be doing this. H a s a smart young man; I don\'t think Roy could so easily manuver him into a sexual relationship in which Ed would feel trapped. (I think that the moment Roy tried something Ed didn\'t like, Ed would scream like a little girl, transmute Roy into a frog, and run like hell. XD)

~If you want to improve this fic I\'d suggest addressing the issuethe the severe mental and emotional trauma which this sort of abuse would cause.~

Not in this fic. But perhaps in another one - a darker one - I will.

Fanfiction is for people to express and write what they want, and I also don\'t have a problem with that. But I just have a serious problem with glorifying blatant sexual abuse.

But what disturbs me the most is the way Roy bullied Ed into going along with it, in spite of Ed\'s protests. Given the characters and the set-up you have it implies that this has been going on for some time with Roy regularly pressuring Ed into going just a little farther than he\'d gone before. This is exactly the sort of behavior that actually HAPPENS to some people, when a teacher, an uncle, or priest keeps at a young person, pushing them just a littartharther each time until they find themselves doing things they never wanted to do, but they feel like they\'ve gone too far to start protesting then. There is nothing sexy, or entertaining t sot someone using their position of power over a minor (or even a 16 year old) in order to coerce them into sexual relationships which they are not ready for.

If you want to improve this fic I\'d suggest addressing the issue of the severe mental and emotional trauma which this sort of abuse would cause.
