I found this story when you started revising it, but was unable to read it. Could not. Kept shuddering and thinking how OOC Vegeta was in reaction to Bulma's rejection. At the same time, I was impressed with your writing and crafting skills, and intrigued by this unusual pairing. I don't really know why I came back to it now, except that your writing still stands head and shoulders above 90% of what's out there in this vast fandom, and I really, really wanted to see where you went with this. I am VERY glad that these things urged me back.

I'm still a bit put off by V's reaction to the breakup, but I can deal with it. It's only temporary. I'm not thrilled with Bulma's treachery (almost OOC, but I guess one could make a case for it), nor her choice of partner, nor the fact that said partner is not much more than a caricature of the classic evil stepparent. Still, these shortcomings are far outweighed by the wonderful interactions between P and V--the way they first come together, and the way this heals V almost completely, at the same time creating a new and tense situation for them both. I love the telepathy, both the idea of it and how it serves them both. The way you write P, with all of his inner conversations, doubts and fears, (Nail is great comic relief!) is simply enthralling. I really, really like your Piccolo! And to my complete surprise, I really like him with Vegeta, which I never imagined that I would, being a Goku/Vegeta fan. Thanks for this captivating story--I can't wait to catch up on the rest.

This is such an outstanding story - I'm so glad that I finally found it again! Props to you for really inventing this pairing, I think...you've done a great job painting the two of them together and making it work.
