The last half of this chapter with Bulma's diary totally eclipses the first part of the chapter.
Wow...that was very devistating news for Vegeta.
And Goku left the diary for the doctor to find. LOL...I want to call Goku a stalker in this. :P

Hey Camaro,
Well, I haven't seen this chapter before!
Another deep exploration of the Saiyan mindset and instincts; kind of reminds me of Monster at a toned-down level. I like how despite the fact that this is a love story between Vegeta and Bulma, you toss in these nuances where Goku is involved. Of course, you call him Kakarot, because it's really his Saiyan side that entrances Vegeta and the reader. I also like that in this story, unlike in Monster, Goku resists all the temptations Vegeta throws at him to change his being. Goku is just Goku, a hero. And instead of having Goku and Vegeta be foils for each other like a lot of fics do, you set them as entirely separate beings with their own pasts and personalities.

Very powerful chapter. Original, because I hadn't thought about the purpose for that wig, and I'm glad you thought of a purpose because I hated it in the series. It's interesting to see Vegeta from Bulma's perspective, that she sees him in a radically different way from how he sees himself, and I wonder if this will be a redemption story. Will her love for him and her belief that he is a good man make him into a good man? Or is there no such thing as a good person in the first place, only what we and others see of ourselves? Her struggle with chemo is very moving and his understanding, constant presence is all she really needs. The last line is very powerful and maybe that's enough to make him someone good, because he is able to encourage one other person to live and be strong.
Hope you post the next chapter soon.

Awww.....Vegeta wants Goku to accept him. I'm so glad to see the updates for this story. It's definitely one of my favorites out there. As usual I adore your flow of words and lovely graphic details. Brutal, yet honest. Great stuff!

Wow...amazing! I did not see that coming. Poor Bulma. She truly is an extremely strong woman. Again, love the details of her pain and her breaking heart. I love the relationship she has with Vegeta and the secret understanding they have. I can definitely feel Bulma's pain with the descriptions you write and it sound like a horrible way to suffer. I feel so bad for her that she cannot tell anyone. It's like she needs to prove to Vegeta that she is strong, too. I wonder if the prince would actually look down on her weakness? Anyway, good work. I love how the diary was just there. Very mysterious. :) I really hope for a new update soon because this story is kickin. Great work!

OH....too short!!! But SO much information as well! No, I guess I wouldn't want you to go into much more detail than you already have/had as Vegeta told this part of his tale.
Hmmmm, well, I'd like to read what happens next, of course!

OMFG!! How I ever missed reading this story before I will never know. I'm so glad I found this story. Even though your stories due tend to get squicky, for me at least. However, I can't deny that for all the uncomfiness you can inspire, you are a damn good writer. Most likely one of the top five I've ever come across. Monster was completely twisted to me, but undeniably great. To me your stories are kinda like train wrecks. Ever moral fiber of my body screams "you shouldn't look", but no matter what you can't just not look. Which is probably the greatest proof of a great writer.

This is a very unique look at the history of Vegeta, I especially loved the Zarbon and Vegeta interaction, for me I felt that the first half of Fathoming Love held the most Beauty, after the descent of Zarbon and Vegeta's relationship I felt a bit nostalgic for what they once had, the way you described their earlier relationship was woven so masterfully that I could not help but mourn what was lost.. Especially when Vegeta just put an end to Zarbon's misery it made me question whether it was all for nothing. Zarbon gave up everything for Vegeta, the symbol of his home, his future his child, but then maybe he gave up evrything for Vegeta because at that time Vegeta was everything, but then in the end when that beautiful and poetic love changed into bitter hate was he left with nothing in the end? Or maybe it isn't for nothing since he taught Vegeta about love. Is it this very lesson which guides him to end the pain of a loved one?

I LOVE IT! Great chapter! Wow...just wow. Well, you certainly know how to write characters. Goku....just Goku! He was amazing and you were able to make him so...AMAZING! There are so many stories that are about Vegeta that only show Goku as the bumbling idiot, goofy guy, but you made him your own. I love how you made him so complex. I see that you do that in many of your stories and it's great and original. No one really delves into Goku's mind and shows that he's probably a confused character who has strong saiyajin instincts. And I really love how the only person he can turn to is Vegeta. Their relationship is unique and awesome and you showed it. I'm excited to see where their relationship will go now in your story. Again....great work!
