I like how the story is laced with the phrase, "Life doesn't always go your way."

It's realistic and it tears at you, but in a way it's also fulfilling. Through adversity humanity still has such tenacity. And if Ed dies I could live with that (though it is strongly hinted that he lives). Life has that beautiful love and loss quality. That's why I truly appreciate the uncertainty of the ending. Not labeling it either a happy or sad finale.

Wow! Beautiful story! Just the kind that I like too. Nice and angsty and bittersweet. I loved it. This is going in my favorite fanfic folder. This is the best FMA fanfic that I have ever read.

Thank you for the story. It was very moving and showed a convincing and plausible side to Roy and Ed that I might not otherwise have considered.

That was so sweet. I've got actual tears in my eyes from reading that ending, that's never happened before because it takes quite a lot to make me that emotional.

Poor Ed, yay he now admits his feelings for Roy but he's still so confused as well. I just want to wrap him in a great big hug. On top of all the stress from his inner demons, he also has to worry about the fact that he knows what's going to happen and can't tell the man that he's coming to love. I think I'd be hiding in a corner somewhere going slowly mad, he's doing well to hold it together.
I liked his little chuckle when he remembered the fight, that must have really gotten Roy thinking XD
I'm a little worried though to what Roy will do when Hughes dies. After all, he knows Ed knows what will happen and he's going to be a little upset that Ed didn't even try to change it. Ah well, the road to true love never did run smooth.
Looking forward to the next amazing chapter.

I would never be able to stop myself from interfering if I were him. Beautifully written and I feel that the characters are in character, the level of maturity for Ed is fitting for his age and everything he has been through. Can't wait to read another chapter, many thanks to you ZaKai for writing so many wonderful stories.
