I read this fic a long time ago, somewhere. Maybe FF.NET, before the whole place went rating-stupid. Anyway, thanks for posting this - I love your prose, and the little "happy birthday" at the end was an especially nice touch ^.^. There aren't a whole lot of evocative, tasteful stories involving Piccolo here or anywhere, so this was an especially nice gem to find again.
