-PART
1-
On
the normally quiet evenings on Roshi Island, Master Roshi
would lounge in a chair out by the shores, enjoying the cool breeze and reading
his favorite magazines.
However,
on this particular night, things were of the opposite. Master Roshi stumbled across the living room as he slurred, “Care
for a drink?”
Bulma shook her head as she laughed at Goku—who proceeded to parade
around the room imitating a “ferocious dinosaur”. Even Chichi, who was throwing
disapproving glares at her husband’s behavior, laughed when Krillin
had stumbled over a stray chair, sending him soaring over Master Roshi’s sofa.
Vegeta,
however, had soon found the company unbearable within the hour and had excused
himself outside, where he ignored the cries of laughter.
Gohan,
too, had reluctantly found solace back in his room at home where he had been
instructed to either “Eat, sleep, or study,” as Chichi had so sternly
explained. Gohan frowned as he recalled his mother’s scolding.
“I
don’t care if aliens were raising cattle in our front yard!” Chichi exclaimed
as Goku laughed nervously, “You will not—under any circumstances—fight!
At all! AT ALL! Do you understand me?”
After
many hours of wailing and shouting, Chichi had halfheartedly agreed to go to
the party.
Now,
as Gohan sat down in front of his desk watching the sun dip past the horizon,
he scowled. He truly hated his studying. He had always wished he could be more
like his dad, but then again, he didn’t want to upset his mom. Gohan heaved a
sigh and frowned slightly as he pushed himself up from his desk and leaned
against the windowsill.
“Study,
study, study…” Gohan muttered darkly. “That’s all I ever do nowadays…” He had
wanted to come so badly… “What’s the big deal anyway?” he asked himself, “It’s
just a party…”
However,
just as Gohan had said those words, Vegeta had chosen the exact time to wish he
had never come.

“Imbeciles,”
Vegeta whispered fiercely as he wandered around the little island. (Kakarot…poisoning himself with wine…) Vegeta thought
bitterly, (Allowing him to become drowned in pitiful human activities…)
CRASH!
Vegeta’s
eyes snapped towards Master Roshi’s now broken
window, where Krillin was rubbing his head tenderly.
“Owww! Goku!!”
Krillin mumbled, “That huuuuurt!!”
“Oh…”
Goku’s head appeared beside the broken window, his eyes shiny and glazed, “Heh,
sorry about that, Krillin,”
Vegeta
rolled his eyes and folded his arms as he directed his attention to the setting
sun.
“Vegeeeeeetaaaah!” Goku laughed and waved, “You
gonna stay out there all night?”
(That
is IT,) Vegeta thought heatedly, (I’m out of here!)
He
pushed off, flying into the night, not even bothering to glance back at Goku,
who was now lying on the floor, passed out.

Gohan knew he would be in trou..
His mother would certainly object to him flying
around in the dark trying to find Roshi Island.
Gohan sighed as he imagined his mother, who would most likely scold him and ban
him from all human activity until he could make her proud—(Which will
probably never happen...) Gohan thought miserably—and send him home. But he
had only wanted to see what was going on...
Suddenly, the Roshi house
slowly came into view—with the shattering sound of glass breaking...
(Oh, no...)
Gohan hovered in the air cautiously, watching the
broken window from a distance to make sure he wasn’t caught.
“Vegeeeeeetaaaah!”
Gohan
sighed. That was—without doubt—his father, the most powerful man in the
universe. He could barely make out Krillin, who was
lying in the sand unconscious, or his father for that matter.
His
mother came scrambling out the front door (by this time Gohan decided he should
be kept well in the shadows) with Master Roshi on her
heels screaming, “My window! It broke!”
Gohan
watched intently as someone—most likely Vegeta—shook his head in disgust and
pushed off, flying away to who knows where. Gohan
glanced at his father, who was sprawled out on all fours with ChiChi screaming at him at the top
of her lungs, and then back a Vegeta, whose figure was slowly disappearing over
the horizon.
Within
the minute Gohan had made up his mind.
Following
Vegeta would be far more interesting then getting yelled at by his mother.
* *
*
(A weak little power level indeed...)
Vegeta thought as he continued to fly along. (Krillin? No, no...)
Vegeta
was having quite the debate with himself trying to find out who would be
following him at this time of night. It was no one particularly strong, but
still...it bothered him...
Vegeta
smirked. Well, if this puny little thing thought it could keep up with him, so
be it.
He
sped up abruptly and laughed ae une unknown follower did the same, with more
effort, however.
“Okay...want
to play?” Vegeta muttered as he swerved to the right, “C’mon, c’mon...”
Gohan
struggled to keep up with Vegeta. He had never realized how quick and agile he
was. Finally, Gohan had lost it.
“Vegeta!! Slow down!” Gohan shouted, waving his arms feebly. “Please! It’s
me! Gohan!”
Vegeta
frowned, disappointed that the chase hadeadyeady ended. (Far too soon...) he thought bitterly. He slowed down and turned,
facing the son of Goku.
“Gohan...?”
Vegeta raised an eyebrow and suddenly glared at the boy, his tone changing
completely, “Tell me, what is the son of Kakarot doing out on a night like
this? Determined to make my life Hell
as your father as, I see?”
Gohan
was at a loss for words. He really didn’t know why he had followed him exactly,
it was more like just a...
“I-I...I,
uh...y’see...”
Vegeta
smirked. “Well, then, that explains
everything!”
Gohan
gritted his teeth as he clenched his fists.
“Aw,
look, the little saiyajin’s angry...” Vegeta
chuckled, “You know, for the second strongest saiyajin in the universe, you’re
father is very prone to alcohol,”
Gohan
glared at him.
“Kakarot
isn’t here to rescue you now, you scrawny patheticyajiyajin,” Vegeta spat, his
voice rising, “You’re a pathetic excuse for a saiyajin, always listening to
mother...what was it, now? Ah, yes, ‘Study, study, study,’ eh?” When Gohan
didn’t reply, Vegeta continued, “How on earth your father married your mother
is beyond me,”
Gohan
growled.
“Oh?
Does the little thing have something to say?” Vegeta sneered, reveling in his
anger, “Well, c’mon then, show me who’s boss,” Vegeta said, pounding his chest.
“Hit me right here; make me hurt. Make the bad
man pay for his words,”
Gohan
paused, unsure of what Vegeta had just said.
“...Or would you rather hear more about your father?” Vegeta jeered, his eyes
fixed on Gohan’s quivering fists.
Without
hesitation, Gohan hurled his fists into Vegeta’s stomach, whereas Vegeta
blocked every move. He had to admit, he really wasn’t expecting the son of
Kakarot to actually charge at him; he had only wanted to see how long punypuny
thing could last.
“This
is it!?” Vegeta shouted, letting out a laugh, “This is all your power!?”
“No!!”
Gohan screamed, slamming his fist into Vegeta’s face, sending him swirling
back.
Wiping
blood from his nose, Vegeta straightened himself and glared at the young
warrior. “Congratulations,” he muttered fiercely, “that was the last punch you
will have ever delivered,”
Gohan
gritted his teeth. He didn’t care. This man had insulted his family! His
mother!
Vegeta
smirked as his power steadily increased, his ki
flaming around him. “Son of Kakarot!” he yelled at he smashed his outstretched
fingers into Gohan’s side, sending the boy rocketing down to the earth where he
collided with a nearby rock.
Gohan
groaned as he pushed himself up.
Vegeta
only grinned wickedly as the boy erratically hovered near him, a look of
complete loathing on his face.
“You...you....”
“I what?”
/p> Gohan Seizing “Imbecile,” * * No (Fool,) he thought crossly, (does he not realize he cannot win against However, “The Vegeta With He “Who “The assassin of the Prince of Saiyajins!”
breathed deeply as his hands curled into a small fist and aimed for Vegeta.
However, when he released his hand and aimed for his enemy, Vegeta swiftly
moved out of the way, causing Gohan to lose his balance.
this opportunity, Vegeta grabbed Gohan’s right fist with his left and twisted
it carelessly, causing the young saiyajin to scream in pain. With his free
hand, Vegeta slammed it against Gohan’s side, sending him once again swirling
into earth.
Vegeta mumbled, wiping blood from his nose—which continued to bleed. Taking one
last glance at the fallen warrior, Vegeta frowned and continued to fly off,
away to somewhere he didn’t know.

sooner had Vegeta left Gohan had he felt the distant and similar power level
quickly advancing towards him once again.
me?)
the more the power level approached him, the more Vegeta realized that this
power level was a little different...
Prince of Saiyajins shall FALL!”
growled. Who had DARED to shout such nonsense?
his ki flaming around him, Vegeta turned around
suddenly, blasting all that was behind him with a blue flaming orb.
could sense it now...it was so close...
are you!?” Vegeta demanded to the darkness, still keeping a small orb in his
hands in case.
It
came from behind him.
Vegeta
suddenly felt something strike him in the back. Gasping for air, Vegeta slowly
made his way to the ground.
The
power level...it was so weak. Possibly weaker than Gohan?
With
a new light, Vegeta jumped up and turned to face his “assassin”.
It
was a young girl with flaming red hair and brown eyes. She would have been
pretty if her face hadn’t been twisted in such a hateful expression. She was
pale and looked in fair health, but Vegeta couldn’t help but notice how weak
her power level was.
Grasping
her shoulders, Vegeta kicked her mercilessly before she had time to react. As
soon as she pulled herself away, however, she slammed her leg into his stomach,
sending Vegeta back, clutching his abdomen. Snarling, Vegeta fought back, this
time ramming his leg into her side. Groaning, the girl looked up in time to see
Vegeta’s hands coming down on her head, a sharp blow that knocked the young
girl into the rocks below.
“Feh, what kind of assassin was that?” Vegeta mumbled. “I
thought you were Gohan, but I was utterly mistaken...you’re even weaker,”
The
girl lay motionless in the rocks.
Irritated
by her silence, Vegeta touched the ground and approached her slowly. Grabbing
her hair and twisting her face upright so he could get a good look at her, he
muttered, “Did you hear me, woman? You’re pathetic,”
The
girl didn’t reply. She only spat in his face.
In a
rage, Vegeta threw her down, wiping his face in disgust.
“You
are spitting the Prince of Saiyajins, you fool!” he said crossly.
“Good,”
she managed to choke out, her voice dark and wispy. “That was
my...intention...”
Vegeta
growled as he slowly approached her. Seeing her enemy, the girl attempted to
scramble away, but Vegeta grabbed her neck roughly.
“Who
are you?”
“I
am the finest warrior of Cooler,”
“Cooler?”
Vegeta hissed in disgust, “That THING that Kakarot had—?”
The
girl nodded.
“You...you...are...Cooler’s
minion?”
She
glared at him but nevertheless nodded again.
Vegeta
paused, the edge of his lips frowning slightly. “You didn’t answer my question,
woman. Who are you?”
“I
am the finest—”
Vegeta
growled and slapped her forcefully, “You fool, I know that!” he spat irritably,
“I want to know who you are, not who sent you!”
“I
am called Etcha.”
Vegeta
eyed her with disgust, “You speak like a machine,”
Etcha only narrowed her eyes.
“Are
you a machine?” Vegeta demanded, shaking her.
She
shook her head slowly, her eyes still glued to his.
“So
you are called Etcha, then?” Vegeta didn’t wait for
her to answer, “Is that your real name or just what
people call you?”
“What
people call me.”
Vegeta
let out a sigh. He knew he wouldn’t get anything else out of her. She would
probably either spit on him again or stare at him in loathing. Half of the
things she told him already he expected to be lies.
She didn’t sound human, she answered all of his
questions with emotion.
“How did you meet Cooler, woman?”
As
Vegeta expected, she only stared at him with her stony eyes.
In
annoyance, Vegeta squeezed her neck firmly.
“I
asked you a question.”
Etcha squirmed under his tightening grip, kicking and gasping for air
feebly.
“Do
you intend to answer, or do I have to squeeze it out of you?”
Etcha paused, her cheeks growing red. When a moment passed and
Vegeta’s grip slowly released—but still firmly around her neck—she spat in his
face once again.
“Dammit!!” Vegeta cursed as he fought the urge to kill her
right there.
“I
was sent to kill you by Cooler. It was an order I intend to carry out.”
“Really?” Vegeta seemed to be fully entertained by the idea that this
woman—whose neck was about to be snapped in half without effort—intended to
kill him. He couldn’t help but grin devilishly. “How, may I ask, do you intend
to do that when you are in such a vulnerable—”
“Vegeta!!!”
Vegeta
immediately smashed his hand into the crook where Etcha’s
neck and shoulder met, knocking her unconscious. His eyes snapped behind him as
the girl’s head slowly rolled back, revealing a very peculiar necklace.
“Damn.”
He muttered underneath his breath. It was Kakarot, the sopping fool.
Apparently, he had woken up. Vegeta only prayed he wasn’t as drunk as he was
before.
Goku
slowly touched the ground and stared at the girl in his arms.
“ONLY BECAUSE YOU’RE A FOOL!” Vegeta bellowed as his face
twisted in rage and grew to be a brilliant bright scarlet. He dropped Etcha on instinct and used all his self control in an
effort not to strangle Goku right there.
“Heh...”
Goku scratched the back of his head and turned serious, “Oh, uh, have you seen
Gohan? I felt your power level here and I suppose she...”
“Yes,
I thought she was Gohan following me again, but she surprised me and—”
“Gohan
met you earlier?”
“Er...yes...”
“What
happened?”
Vegeta’s
eyes glanced from Etcha’s unconscious body to Kakarot’s curious eyes, “Why aren’t you drunk?” He demanded
suddenly, “Last time I saw you, you were on all fours with Bulma
and Krillin riding you and calling you a donkey,”
It
was Goku’s turn to flush bright red. “Uh...well...heh, gotta
love them beans, huh? Seems they not only heal you all up, but they also get
rid of some nasty hangovers...”
“Hn.”
“Wait
a second,” Goku said slowly, “You said you saw Gohan...where?”
“Back
there somewhere.” Vegeta motioned over his shoulder, “The little prat thought
he could take me on. I thought you’d have more control over your kin, Kakarot,”
Goku
frowned, “I feel him...”
“He’s
alive?” Vegeta said involuntarily.
Vegeta’s eyes widened in horror. “Are you insane?!” Vegeta
howled, “Have you lost it!?”
“It’s
the best suited punishment for you.” Goku said with a wicked grin, “Oh, and
bring Etcha.”
“Why?”
“Because
that necklace of hers, it reminds me of someone,” Goku replied simply.
Vegeta
glanced at Etcha’s necklace, then back at Goku and
growled in frustration. He had to be insane...he had to be crazy to think that
HE, the PRINCE OF SAIYANS, would be willing to explain to his rival’s mate
about his little fight with Gohan.
However,
ten minutes later, Vegeta found him standing outside of his sworn rival’s door
with his own assassin slung over his back and his rival’s son dangling from
under his arm.
* *
*
Vegeta
was proud. He had contained his self control and fought the urge to slap this
woman, and in doing so, he felt that he deserved a medal. How Kakarot could put
up with such a...a. beast was beyond
him. In a way, Vegeta had a little more respect for him—though he would refuse
to admit it, even to himself.
Gohan
was placed in his bed, dozing slightly, and Vegeta frowned and shifted
uncomfortably in the sofa as ChiChi glared at him.
Vegeta stole a glance at Goku who was fighting the urge to break out laughing
at Vegeta’s predicament. Normally, Vegeta wanted to kill Goku. However, at that
particular moment as he watched Goku snigger as he was shouted at, he wanted
nothing more than to thrash him completely. Nothing would satisfy him more than
to see Goku in pain....
However,
it was his turn to laugh when ChiChi advanced upon Goku, screaming at the top of her
lungs.
“Irresponsible father!!” She hissed, “You the the
one who just had to go to that party,
huh!? You always go out with your friends
leaving me to take care of Gohan all by myself!!”
Vegeta
smirked triumphantly as Goku whimpered.
“Oh!”
ChiChi wailed, “I should have stayed home! I should
have stayed home! Who knows WHY I even bother to listen to you! And then one of
your stupid friends attack my little boy!! I should
have just stayed here to see that he studies!!!”
“ChiChi...”
“Friends?” Vegeta raised an eyebrow and eyed Goku with disgust, “Kakarot
and I have never been...friends.”
’t
’t
be ridiculous, Vegeta,” Goku said happily, though ChiChi
was now launching herself at him once again.
Vegeta
let out a sigh and leaned back in the sofa. He glanced over at the corridor
which led to Gohan’s room and thought of Etcha, his
little assassin. She was sleeping on the floor in Gohan’s room, according to ChiChi.
“She
will stay with us!” ChiChi had made up her mind, “I
can’t let some maniac take care of a child!”
“She
was my assassin!” Vegeta protested,
the heat boiling in his face. “She tried to kill
me!”
“She’s
a very smart girl then,” ChiChi said simply, “and I
shall see to it that she gets into a good school and—”
“Aw, c’mon ChiChi!” Goku whined slightly, “She’s an assassin!”
However,
ChiChi would hear nothing of it and suddenly became
quite deaf in both ears. Slamming the china into the kitchen sink, Chichi still
refused to listen when Goku tried to explain to her that he couldn’t live under
the same roof as a bloodthirsty assassin.
“Bloodthirsty!?” ChiChi had demanded, “Bloodthirst>!? >!? You call her
bloodthirsty!? She looks like a sweet little innocent fifteen year old, Goku!”
“But...but
Vegeta...”
“Nothing of it!” ChiChi screeched, “No
more! I’m going to bed!”
Vegeta
had sed sed himself after that, wanting nothing more than to slightly slaughter
anything in sight.
* *
*
“Kakarot.”
Goku
jumped at the sound of his name immediately. Swirling to his left, he locked
eyes with Vegeta.
“Vegeta?” Goku raised an eyebrow then forced a smile, “What’re you doing
here?”
“I
should ask you the same.” Vegeta retorted coldly.
“Well,
it is my front lawn, and I should be
given the privilege to walk on it, right?”
“I’d
think that you would be asleep, with all that alcohol you consumed last night.”
Goku
frowned. “What do you want?”
“Etcha. She will wake eventually.”
“Not
anytime soon.” Goku whispered, “That blow you gave her must’ve really knocked
her out. What exactly happened to you, anyway?”
“She
came toward me out of nowhere!” Vegeta protested, his eyes glinting with rage,
“I thought she was your blasted son, but she screamed, ‘Thence nce of Saiyajins shall fall’!”
Goku’s
eyebrows furrowed in thought. “Hm.”
“Kakarot!?” Vegeta said fiercely, his temper rising, “You know
something I do not!”
Goku
nodded, “But it doesn’t make any sense...come with me,”
“I
don’t trust her. She’s going to wake up in your house and kill everyone in
sight. She is an assassin after all.”
Vegeta snarled before adding hastily, “Not that I’d mind...” When Goku merely
kept his silence, Vegeta only followed him, “What is in that blasted shed
that’s going to relate to Etcha, you idiot?”
Goku
ignored him and rummaged through the shed with Vegeta leaning against the door
frame, arms crossed. “Here...” he whispered quietly as he pulled out a silver
necklace.
“What
of it?”
“I
thought you of all people would
recognize it,” Goku said quietly.
“She
has the same necklace.”
“Right.” Goku said, “Well?”
“...Well
what?” Vegeta snapped irritably.
“Well this necklace once belonged to my
mother, or so I’m told...” he whispered, his eyes glued on the small pendant
that spun slowly in the air, “Saiyajin girls wear the necklace as a sign of
innocence. They wear it until they find their mate, a man which marks them.
They lose the necklace as soon as they mate...and they bestow the necklace upon
them.”
Vegeta
stared at Goku in horror. “That means...”
“Yep.”
Suddenly,
there was a clash of china coming from inside of Goku’s house. Both saiyajins
exchanged looks of dread as they quickly rushed towards the house, prepared for
the worse.
