Summary: Kai, Tala and Bryan have never met a neko-jin before. Until they find a young boy who says his name is Rei. Where does he come from and what is he doing in the most dangerous place in the world for a neko-jin?

Notes: Bryan is 21, Kai and Tala is 20 and Rei is 19.

Chapter 1.


Three men were walking along the coast fringe talking among them selves. They where all clad in black with long black trench coats, black boots, black fingerless gloves, black jeans and black sunglasses covering their eyes. Suddenly one of them stopped to listen. The other two stopped too, one of them turning to their friend who still stood completely still.
“Come on Kai, move! It’s fucking freezing out here!” the one who had turned said rubbing his hands together.
“Wait Tala. I thought I heard something,” answered Kai looking around.
“Yes, it was probably your conscience telling you to move your damn ass!” Tala yelled taking a step closer to Kai with clenched fists. “No, I heard it too. Tala, I think Kai is right.” Tala whirled around to look at the third companion. He angrily ripped his sunglasses of and let his ice blue eyes bore into his friend. “You guys are unbelievable. It was probably just a cat or something, what do I care?” Then suddenly it was heard again. The sound of someone quietly sneezing, the sound came from a dark alley ahead of them. The redhead narrowed his eyes and slowly made his way over to it. “Be careful,” warned Kai as he and Bryan followed Tala. As Tala peered around the corner of the house all he could see was two golden eyes glaring back at him from the dark. They shone like the eyes on a cat but the creature seemed to be as big as a human. Without warning the creature throw itself on the red haired Russian knocking him to the ground and then took of running. Kai reacted immediately and darted of after him. `Damn he’s fast!´, thought Kai as he picked up his pace. When he was just a few inches from him he reached out a hand and grabbed the long black plait, which was swinging behind the boy and yanked hard. With a pained yelp the boy fell backwards in the snow. Kai noticed that the only thing that was different with the boy was his slightly pointed ears, golden catlike eyes and the white fangs that glistened in the light when he hissed at Kai. Apart from that he looked like any other boy in the world. “Oww let me go!”
“What’s your name? And what are you?”
“Rei! My name is Rei and I am a neko-jin!”
“A neko-jin hmm? I’ve heard about your people. Science men say you are a very interesting and mysterious people.” At this time Bryan and Tala, who was covered with snow, had joined them to listen to what the boy had to say. Kai stood quiet for some time until he gave a light yank at Reis hair, “Get up,” he ordered. Rei did as he was told, mostly to save his precious hair from further damage. “So Rei, tell me, what are you doing in Russia? Don’t you know that this is a very dangerous place for you?” Kai asked as he started to walk making Rei follow him. “If you have to know I just managed to escape from one of those science men you were talking about. But I guess you are going to send me straight back huh?”
Cold blue eyes turned to look at him, “Why do you think that?”
“Because you guys are Russian and would probably do anything to help your country to get rid of people like I. Am I right?”
“Far from! We have never personally met a neko-jin until now, but we have been reading a lot about you and we think that you just like everyone else deserves your freedom,” explained Bryan.

They said nothing more and Kai soon released his grip on the raven locks, to the three Russians surprise Rei continued to walk with them. Not that they were complaining or anything, they were just surprised that he didn’t take his chance to run when he got it. They had soon reached the house where the three Russians were living and Tala unlocked the front door, then he stepped aside allowing the others to enter first. Rei looked around amazed.
“Is anyone hungry? ‘Cause I’m starving!” yelled Tala from the kitchen. Bryan and Kai answered with a “YES” and then looked over at Rei.
“So tiger, are you hungry?” asked Kai and smiled when Reis stomach answered for him. “Make some extra for Rei will ya?!” he then called to his red-haired lover, (yes, Kai, Tala and Bryan are all together!). When he turned back to where the raven-haired neko-jin had been only seconds before he realised that he was gone. Bryan pointed towards the living room, which was across the hall. Kai looked inside the room and found Rei on the sofa curled up in front of the roaring fire. That’s when Kai realised that the younger boy hadn’t had a jacket on when they found him outside and it was really cold. Sighing softly he grabbed a blanket that hung over an armchair and then walked towards the sofa and spread it over the neko.
“I guessed you was cold,” he said when questioning golden orbs turned towards him.
“Thanks.”
Rei hide a yawn behind his hand and pulled the blanket closer around him. It felt good to be warm for once.

Some time later the wonderful smell of pasta and meatballs reached his sensitive nose. His mouth watered when he sat up and stared at Tala who came in with plates closely followed by Bryan who was carrying the pot with pasta and the frying pan with meatballs. It was all placed on the table in front of him and then the others sat down too.
“That smells delicious!” he said looking over the food. Tala smiled and gave him a plate full with food. “Thank you. Please taste it.” Gladly Rei did as he was told and tasted it, a big smile soon spread across his face and he gave Tala the thumbs up. “I take it as you like it then.”
The other two were already eating not saying a word.

After dinner Rei helped Tala with the dishes and then they returned to the living room where they found two tired Russians cuddled close together on the couch. Reis golden eyes turned towards the redhead beside him who was smiling at the sight.
“Are they…?”
“Yes, me too. We are together.” The younger of the two turned his gaze back to the two on the couch and sighed.
“What’s the matter?”
“I just wish I had someone who loved me like that. But I don’t and I will probably never have.” After he had said that Rei looked away to hide the tears welling up in his eyes at the thought of being all alone in this dark cold world. “Excuse me, I have to go to the bathroom,” he mumbled before he quickly disappeared down the hallway.
Kai slowly sat up on the couch and locked eyes with Tala. “What’s wrong with him?”
“I think he’s sad. He just told me how much he wished he had someone who loved him. I think he’s cute and sexy.” “He is indeed. So what you mean is that maybe we should give it a try?” “Yes, I think we should.”
The two Russians looked towards their lavender-haired lover who blinked his eyes open. Bryan yawned and stretched, and then he sat up right to gaze at his lovers.
“What are you two talking about?”
Before answering Tala checked the hallway to see if Rei was heading back, when he saw that the neko-jin was nowhere near he turned back to the others.
“We were talking about a certain neko-jin who is in desperate need for love.”
At that Bryan raised an eyebrow looking questioning at them. But Kai and Tala didn’t get a chance to explain because Rei decided to come back just in that moment, he looked tired and slightly depressed. As Rei took one step into the living room he sneezed loudly several times in a row. “You sound as if you have a cold,” stated Tala as he approached him with a blanket. Kai and Bryan rose from the couch and Kai then suggested that Rei would go to sleep; he said that was the best way to get rid of a cold. To sleep it of. So after a few minutes of an argument with Rei who thought he was obtruding, Tala made the couch for him as Bryan brought some nightclothes for the neko. Rei brought the cloths with him into the bathroom and changed into his so-called nightclothes, which was a T-shirt that was a bit to big for him and a pair of clean boxers. His other clothes were thrown away with the promise from Tala that they would buy him some new clothes the next day. Then he climbed into “bed” and snuggled deep down under the duvet. The others said their good nights and then left the room to go to bed.

“I don’t think he trusts us,” mumbled Kai as he climbed into their four-poster bed and snuggled up against Bryan. “I’m not surprised, he has been treated as trash his entire life and suddenly he meets us. Three Russian guys who takes him in, gives him food and a warm place to sleep in. I bet that’s how many people treated him in the beginning to gain his trust and then they started to show who they really was,” answered Tala before a yawn interrupted him.
“Give him a few days to get used to us and this place and then we’ll see what’s going to happen,” murmured Bryan and then wrapped an arm around Talas waist to pull him closer. Soon they were all asleep.

The next day Kai was the first one to wake up, the clock on their bedside table showed that it was 6.30 .am. Quietly he slipped out of bed and headed for the bathroom to take a shower. He stripped out of his nightshirt and boxers and stepped into the shower tuning on the heat. At first the water was freezing but it soon turned hot, washing the last trace of sleep from his body and turned his skin light pink. After washing his hair and body Kai grabbed a white fluffy towel and wrapped it around his waist, then he walked back out into their bedroom to find some clean clothes. Bryan had come awake during the time Kai was taking his shower and was now sitting up in bed reading a book. He turned his lavender-eyes at Kai when the blue-haired man let the towel drop to the floor and started to rummage through the drawers to find something to wear. When Kai noticed the others eyes on him he teasingly swayed his hips from side to side smirking as he heard the older mans breath quickening. “See something you like Bryan?” he asked and cast a glance over his shoulder. The only answer he got was the low growling from Bryan who found it really hard to sit still. Laughing slightly Kai turned back to rummage through the drawers. After some time he decided to wear a pair of silk boxers, some loose fitting baggy pants, which hung low on his hips, a black tank-top and a silver chain around his neck. With a last glance at Bryan he left the room to go and make some breakfast.

When Kai went passed the living room he stopped and peered inside to see Rei sleeping on the couch where they had left him the previous night. The duvet had slipped down to his waist and the T-shirt had slid up so you could see his flat stomach and well built chest. A small smile crept onto Kais lips at the thought of the young neko-jin naked in bed with him and the others, sweaty and panting. He shook his head when he felt he was getting hard. But when he saw the light pink gracing Reis cheeks his smile disappeared and he frowned in concern. Swiftly he walked into the living room and knelt beside the couch placing a hand on Reis forehead. `He’s burning up´ he thought as he withdrawn his hand. Reis forehead glistened with small beams of sweat and his dark bangs were plastered to it.
“Poor tiger,” whispered Kai and then stood up to go start with the breakfast.

Upstairs Bryan was getting dressed and Tala was starting to wake up. The time was now 7.35 .am, and the sun was shining in through the window landing on the redheads face.
“Can someone please turn the damn light of, I’m trying to sleep.” “Sorry babe but it’s time to get up. I can smell breakfast,” said Bryan with a smile.
“Fine I’m coming, but only because I’m hungry. And I would like to see Rei, he didn’t look to good yesterday.” With a small shake of his head Bryan left the bedroom and headed downstairs stopping by the living room to gaze inside. The neko-jin was still fast asleep on the couch so he went into the kitchen to greet Kai.
The blue-haired man smiled when arms wrapped around his waist from behind and someone nuzzled his neck lovingly. “Morning love,” breathed Bryan and pressed a kiss to Kais neck.
“Morning, where’s Tal?”
“He’s coming. You know what he thinks about mornings. He and the morning sun are not friends.” “Yeah I know. And by the way, I don’t think there will be any shopping for Rei to day. He has got a real high temperature.”
Lavender-eyes fixed on the sleeping form in the other room and a small sigh left Bryans lips. “What do you think about him?”
Kai turned around at the question to lock eyes with the older of the two.
“I think he’s wonderful. Beautiful, sexy, funny, everything we can ever dream of.”
“Yeah, I think so too. But lets take it slow in the beginning, we don’t wanna scare him away now do we?”
Just as they had finished the conversation there was a loud “CRASH” followed by a “FUCK!” Both of them hurried out into the hallway to find Tala in a heap on the floor in front of the staircase. “Don’t tell me you fell down the stairs again!” yelled Kai with a big smile on his face. With some help from Bryan Tala managed to stand up and then he glared at Kai who was laughing his ass off. “Shut it Kai,” he hissed as he stumbled into the kitchen and dropped down on a chair. Blue eyes searched the room and then wandered to the sleeping form on the couch in the other room. “Is he still asleep?”
“Yep, the kitten is ill. I think he managed to catch a cold when he was outside yesterday,” explained Kai. “Aww, that’s too bad! I was looking forward to take him on a shopping trip today. Guess that have to wait though.” Breakfast was eaten in silence and afterwards Kai did the dishes.

Tala walked into the living room only to find two dull golden orbs locking with his own blue ones. “Hey, how are you feeling?”
“Bad.”
“Do you want anything to eat?”
The neko shook his head slowly and then closed his eyes again almost drifting back to sleep. He was being kept awake by the sick feeling in his stomach and was afraid he would throw up soon. “Here you go,” someone suddenly said and Rei opened his eyes to see Kai towering above him holding a glass with water and some pills. Slowly he sat up and gratefully took the pills from Kai and downed it with the water. At least they would take away his headache. After he had handed the empty glass back to Kai Rei fell back down against the pillows and once again let his eyes fall close.
He must have fallen asleep some time after ‘cause he woke up to the sound of music being played somewhere near him. To his surprise it was Kai who was sitting on a chair playing on a guitar. It sounded beautiful, the soft sound making him feel drowsy again.
Kai smiled as he observed the neko-jin, he seemed to like the music. Only a few days ago, Kai had read in a book that neko-jins loved music and it often made them relax. And it seemed to work. Suddenly Kai stopped playing to listen, there was some weird sound in the room. It was a low rumbling sound, like the sound from a cat that is purring. And that was exactly what it was, except it wasn’t a cat, the sound was coming from Rei. `That’s right! Now I remember, a neko-jin that is comfortable can purr. ´ He laughed softly and then continued playing the guitar. A few minutes later the other two entered the room and Kai stopped playing again. “Hey Kai. Why did you stop?” asked Tala.
“Shh.” Kai placed a finger against his lips to silence the other. “Listen.”
“What’s that sound?” wondered Bryan looking around the room.
“It’s Rei. Remember what I told you a few days ago? Neko-jins can purr when they feel comfortable or safe.”
Talas eyes widened slightly as he looked at the sleeping neko-jin who lay on his back with his rosy lips slightly parted and one arm draped over his stomach.
“God he’s beautiful,” whispered Tala. The others nodded. He sure was beautiful and he was gong to be theirs.
