Warnings: big-time AU, sexual content, language…and anything else I decide I want in it
Notes: Uh, I’ve never written a fic with this pairing…actually, I’ve barely even read fics with this pairing. I’m not really all that interested, honestly, but I figured…why not? I’m on a new kick here. And these characters just kinda fit. But if this is somehow like anyone else’s story, then I’m sorry. It really is a coincidence (or the curse of a subconscious mind). So don’t bitch to me. ^o^

“It’s the pain that let’s you know you’re alive.”
“But what if you don’t want to be?”
“Tough shit. Suck it up, move on.”
“I can’t.”
“Because you’re weak.”
“I’m not…I’m not weak.”
The caustic and unsympathetic expression in his otherwise blank eyes indicated that the conversation was over, and that the last thing he uttered was nothing less than true. Vegeta rose from his stool, ignoring the stream of tears running down the younger one’s cheeks. Gohan’s red, puffy eyes swayed nothing in this man. He turned his back on Gohan, away from his pathetic form, leaving him to rot. He paused at the door, his hand on the frame, and spoke without looking at him.
“Get it through your head: no one cares about you. No one ever will. I’m the closest thing to a friend you’ll ever have. Even though you waste the space you occupy, I allow you to live. You should count your blessings. I permit your sorry hide to exist in this world.”
At the end of his speech, he turned partially, his cold, dark eyes locking with Gohan’s, adding weight to his subsequent words.
“I am your Atropos, boy; I can slice your thread in two.”
He closed the door firmly behind him, the sound echoing throughout the empty room. Sobs wracked Gohan’s body, but his bound hands couldn’t reach his face to wipe away the tears.
“Damn you…” he whispered to no one.
Gohan’s weak frame struggled feebly against the ki-restraints on his wrists and ankles. Knowing that the effort was done in vain, he tried anyway. He sank wearily to the floor, his hands fisted, ragged fingernails digging crimson trenches into his palms. He no longer felt physical pain; the blood oozed slowly from the wounds, small droplets falling to the floor to mingle with his salty tears. The mental and emotional turmoil he suffered overwhelmed all that his five conventional senses could perceive.
With one last defeated sob, he slumped to the ground, waiting for the curse of dawn.

Mwuahahaha! This is only the beginning, my darlings. There will (should…) be more and there will be a lot explained. Eventually. Just let me map out at least part of the fic though…you know, gotta get one of those plots in order before I can really do some damage. ^_~ BUT, I am actually pretty happy with this bit right here, so I really hope you all enjoy it too.
