GOODNESS!!!!
This story is dedicated to all TyKa fans,
the word "thighs" and coca cola. Without those things Urges woulda
never been here!
Urges
Part One
It was starting to become troublesome.
Well no. It was becoming much more than that. It was
beginning to overcome him. The teen thought he had gotten a hold on it, but like
the power of Black Dranzer, these reactions were virtually impossible to
ignore…
Now, Kai was a person, and despite what some might say
about him, he still had goals and dreams like everyone else. He also had
fantasies like everyone else. He, like all other people in this world, often
thought about how situations could go differently then the way they did
go. The way things could happen if he suddenly acted upon those impulses deep
within himself.
But that was something unthinkable. To act upon one’s
inner urges would not only be chaotic, but it would be completely out of place -
inappropriate. And Kai’s urges were definitely something beyond inappropriate.
He had long since accepted the fact that he was a little,
well okay, make that very much, attracted to a certain midnight haired
teen with a backwards cap. He knew he admired Tyson, and on some level he also
knew that it was understandable to want to show it - But there were problems
with that. It simply wasn’t in his nature to engage in public displays of
affection.
At least, he hadn’t thought it was.
Kai didn’t know when it had first started, but it had
been a normal afternoon a week ago while on their way to visit Germany after the
world championships, when he had first noticed himself doing it…
Tyson had been eating a chocolate bar and had managed to
get the stuff all over his face. The annoying thing was, Tyson didn’t even
bother wiping his mouth. It irritated him so much; it was the only thing
he could think about. In his mind, he saw himself reaching out and wiping away
the chocolate residue. He often thought about doing those sorts of things… But
when he snapped out of his ‘what if’ scenario a second later, he found that
his arm had been partly suspending in the air, as if he had almost actually done
it…
To say it disturbed him was an understatement. His arm had
been on its way to make his fantasy become a reality… and he hadn’t even
realized it…
But that was not the worst.
He had had some slip ups a few times after that – a wrong
word, or a lingering look – but he knew it was a serious problem when…
Travelling through Italy, he and Tyson had ended up sharing
a bed.
Like always, during the night the shorter teen had managed
to drape himself over Kai, instantly awakening the team captain. He had lain
there silently, knowing that he should have been angry, and he should have
thrown Tyson off onto his own side of the bed – but he hadn’t. Instead he
had wondered what it would be like to hold Tyson. In his mind he could see
himself curling up against the shorter teen. In that moment, Kai had felt such a
need to wrap his arms around that warm body, and revel in the kind of
comfort that can only be given with a hug…
And he had almost done it, too.
He hadn’t even known it was happening, but Kai’s hands
had strayed to press against Tyson’s back, pushing their bodies closer. And
almost instantly after he become aware of it, he pulled his hands away as if he
had been burned.
Completely shocked by his obvious lack of control, Kai had
immediately gotten up and gone off to train in their current hotel’s exercise
room, in order to keep his mind occupied, forcing any of those treacherous
thoughts from his head.
He couldn’t risk another repeat of that incident. Some of
his little daydreams weren’t so innocent, and if he ever made that known… He
didn’t like to acknowledge it, but it terrified him to think that his
attraction was starting to grow so strong. He needed to stop being so
attached…
So, every time after that, when he felt those same urges to
show Tyson what he felt surface once again, he would train furiously.
And for a while it worked.
But it was getting worse.
It was taking too much effort to get rid of those feelings
and images that he so badly wanted to act on. He feared that pretty soon his
focus on training wouldn’t be enough. Those times in which the need to improve
his Beyblading skills had gotten him past the urges were growing drastically
shorter in length.
And Kai didn’t want to think about what would happen if
he were to do what he wanted and just give in…
****
After the world championships in Russia, the Bladebreakers
had backtracked across Europe until they had reached a small but pleasant vista
in France. It was very near to the place they had first stopped off and gotten
left behind by their cruise ship. This time, the original plan had been to take
a plane back to Japan, but for some reason Mr. Dickinson had insisted that they
properly see some of the European cities while they had the chance to.
There was another motive to the head of the BBA’s
sightseeing venture though. The problems of Voltaire, Biovolt and the Russian
team should be the last thing on the minds of the Bladebreakers. He wanted them
to enjoy their time in Europe and not look back at it remembering those other
events.
That was why Mr. Dickinson had instructed the young world
champions to meet in the lobby of their small hotel after breakfast. When the
old man finally spotted them, they were all chatting animatedly about one thing
or another - well, except for Kai. But Mr. Dickinson suspected that that one
would always have a hard time allowing himself to let loose.
Mr. Dickinson cleared his throat noisily. “Gather your
bags boys! It seems you’ve got another adventure ahead of you!” He smiled
cheerfully at their astonished faces.
“Huh??” Tyson exclaimed.
“Wait, you mean we’re not going back to Japan yet?”
Max raised his eyebrows.
Ray sat up straight in his seat. “What is it? Another
tournament?”
“It can’t be, you guys.” Kenny spoke up. “I checked
the Beyblade database a little while ago and there aren’t any new tournaments
being held for at least 5 months!”
“Mmmhm,” The old man nodded, smiling jovially and
plucked at his moustache. “You are correct Kenny. There aren’t any
more tournaments right now.”
“So then what is it?” Kai asked from his place against
the wall.
“Yeah, tell us Mr. D!” Tyson stood up excitedly.
Mr. Dickinson’s eyes closed in mirth, “Well, you all
did so well in the championships, and I felt a bit bad for cutting your cruise
short…so I decided you should go on one more and then take a flight out from
America to Japan!”
“Whoahoh, whoa! Are you serious Mr. Dickinson!?”
Tyson’s eyes bugged out.
“Quite serious, Tyson my boy.” Mr. Dickinson smiled
then thumped his cane against the ground. “What are you all waiting for? The
bus leaves in 10 minutes!” The old man watched in amusement as all of them
scrambled to get to their hotel rooms and pack their belongings.
“Maybe I should have told them it actually leaves in an hour…”
****
It was a long bus ride there, but it was definitely
gonna be worth it. The cruise ship was even bigger than the last one they
had travelled on, and it probably had a lot more stuff to do too. The
Bladebreakers were about to set sail for the United States! They were already
packed and their luggage had been checked, so right now the five of them were
just waiting for their paperwork to pass through customs in the harbour.
All of the seats in the small waiting room were taken.
Fantastic. Kai thought.
Sweeping his gaze over his teammates, Kai noticed Tyson was
lounging in his seat. The teen’s arms were slung casually across the back of
his chair with his legs spread slightly and bent at the knees. Kai frowned at
the blatant display of carelessness. He’s taking up enough space for two
people… Kai studied the midnight haired boy’s form intently and his
thoughts wandered…
Tyson looked up and noticed Kai’s stare. The tanned boy
grinned invitingly. “Hey Kai, come sit down.” Tyson patted his knee
welcoming the former team captain to take a seat - in his lap. Kai raised an
eyebrow at the brazen action, but strolled over to the world champion anyway.
Far be it from him to turn down this opportunity…
Kai sat down in Tyson’s lap, finding a comfortable
position, and enjoying it as the other teen’s arms wrapped around his body to
keep him stable. Tyson had his hands clasped loosely at Kai’s hip, and his
long dark hair was tickling the back of Kai’s neck. The taller teen leant back
against Tyson, revelling in their closeness.
“Comfy?” Tyson laughed lightly, and Kai rested his
cheek so that it touched the midnight haired boy’s. Kai brought his left hand
up to play with the collar of Tyson’s red jacket.
Kai looked Tyson in the eyes. “Like you wouldn’t
believe.”
But that didn’t really happen.
Kai snapped out of it. Oh shit… It happened again.
He thought in panic, and hastily walked over to the corner, leaning
uncomfortably against the wall. He wasn’t anywhere near Tyson, and that’s
the way it was supposed to be… but he couldn’t stop his body, and his
mind, from telling him otherwise.
“Oooh…” Kenny groaned from his spot in the waiting
room. He clutched his laptop to his chest.
“Hey, what’s wrong Chief?” Ray asked, shooting the
bespectacled boy a concerned look.
“Don’t tell me you’re feeling sick already!”
Max sniggered at Kenny’s queasy look. “I mean, we’re not even on the ship
yet!”
Ray raised his eyebrows. “I thought you said you were
over sea sickness?”
“I never said that!!” Kenny exclaimed nervously.
“What’s taking them so long? We’ve been
waiting for almost an hour already!” Tyson shouted loudly. The boy with the
baseball cap began to judder his leg up and down in an impatient manner.
“I’m gonna go ask what the hold up is!”
“Tyson, don’t make a scene. This is supposed to be a
holiday!” The Chief said.
“I know that!! But-” Tyson twisted his neck wildly
looking around the waiting room. His gaze landed on Kai. “Look I bet even Kai
is tired of standing and waiting! Right Kai?”
The Bladebreakers turned to look at the team captain. Kai
crossed his leg over the other and shifted his position against the wall. Taking
the other teen’s silence as agreement, Tyson looked over at Ray.
“Ray, get up and let Kai sit down.” Tyson commanded.
“What!?” The Chinese teen sputtered, shocked. “Why me?
Why can’t you get up Tyson?”
“Because-”
“Just don’t bother.” Kai cut in, pushing himself off
from the wall and walking out of the small waiting room, back into the customs
area of the harbour. Out of the same door a few seconds later, Mr. Dickinson
came back holding their passports.
“Everything is set to go, boys!” The old man handed
everyone their information.
“Oh hey, Kai just left sir.” Max said while accepting
his.
“Yes, yes I know, I gave him his passport just now! Now
let’s get you on board the ship finally, hm?”
Kenny looked up in surprise. “You’re not coming with us
sir?”
“Oh no! No, I have some very important matters to deal
with. But just because I will not be here, doesn’t mean you can run amuck! Now
go on, get on board, or else it’ll leave without you!” Mr. Dickinson pointed
his cane at the huge ship.
“Thanks Mr. D!!” Tyson yelled and waved as he and the
rest of the Bladebreakers bolted up the ramp to the cruise ship.
****
Handing their tickets over one by one, the Bladebreakers,
minus Kai, boarded the ship just seconds before it was starting to set out of
the harbour. As the many travellers embarked on their cruise, the four world
champion’s of the BBA were currently wandering through the hallways searching
for their cabins.
“I still can’t believe we’re getting to go on this
cruise again!” Max exclaimed while dragging his bag on the floor. He had done
a lot of shopping while they had been in Europe and… well his suitcase was
pretty heavy by now.
“Yeah Max, you said it, this is gonna be great – last
time I didn’t get a chance to try all the events!” Ray replied.
“It still amazes me how Mr. Dickinson
managed to trick us like that…” Kenny muttered to himself, and examined the
bottle of stomach medicine he had purchased at the harbour.
“I’m gonna do EVERYTHING!” Tyson grinned and
mock-punched the Chief in the back.
“Gah!” Kenny protested.
The midnight haired teen eyed his electronic key card for
his cabin room. “Man, this ship is really high-tech, huh guys?” He asked.
“Kenny and me have got cabin 433…” Tyson put the card in his pocket.
“What about you, Ray? Max?”
Both Ray and Max got out their own key cards and studied
them.
“I’m in 430.” Ray answered.
“I’m in 435…” Max read the card. “Aw man, looks
like I’m kinda separated from you guys.”
Tyson took out his card again and flipped it around a
couple times looking at the back and front. “Hey… aw dude it doesn’t say
which room Kai’s in. You think he’s separated too?”
“Probably not. Mr. D said he’d gotten cabins pretty
close together.” Ray responded.
Tyson rolled his eyes, throwing the card up and catching
it. “Knowing Kai, he would probably like it if he were
all the way on the other side of the ship.” The midnight haired teen grumbled.
Max and Ray looked at the world champion oddly.
“Kai’s always been pretty distant, but he didn’t have
to just walk off like that.” The blond said.
Ray nodded. “That’s true, he’s been doing that a lot
lately, don’t you think?”
“Yeah…” Tyson said quietly. “…You think it’s
because of me?”
“You??” Max’s eyes widened.
“I dunno you guys…” Tyson fumbled with the key card,
turning it over with his hands, his long bangs covering his eyes. “… it just
seems like every time I try to be nice to Kai he gets all uncomfortable!”
“Don’t worry Tyson, I’m sure he’ll come around.”
The Chinese teen said.
“But, I thought you two were on good terms now?” Kenny
suddenly asked.
“We were! But I think, ever since me and him
shared that bed when Mr. D took us to Italy, he’s been avoiding me.” Tyson
made a fist as he explained.
Inside, the world champion was glad to be able to finally
talk about this. He had been getting more and more worried about what he had
done to offend Kai, when it had seemed like they were finally getting along
after the championships. Kai had actually been friendly and was smiling more
frequently at Tyson, but then, the day after in Italy, the team captain had
begun to distance himself from Tyson and the Bladebreakers once again.
And for the life of him, Tyson couldn’t figure out what
it was that had caused it.
Tyson sweatdropped and looked from Ray to Max. “Don’t
tell me I kicked him in my sleep or something.”
“I don’t think that would be enough to make him avoid
you – Kai’d just kick you back if that happened.” Max said thoughtfully.
“Maybe you should talk to him about it sometime,
Tyson.” Ray suggested and grinned slightly. “We’re on a boat so he can’t
run away from you very much if you try.”
“Great idea Ray!” Tyson smiled gratefully, and then his
eyebrows angled down in determination. I’m gonna get to the bottom of this,
Kai. You can’t keep pushing me away forever.
“Tyson, you’re going to lose the card!” The
Chief complained, seeing how Tyson was treating the important item. “Give it
to me.”
“Too late! We’re here!” Tyson shouted cheerfully,
pointing to the door reading 433. He quickly inserted the electronic card into
the lock and pushed open the cabin door.
Kenny sighed and trudged in, going directly for the
bathroom.
“Hey get your swim trunks guys!” Tyson grinned at Ray
and Max, placing his hands on his hips. “I heard there’s a pool and we definitely
gotta get in there!”
“Aw man, I’m in no problem!” Max jumped excitedly.
“Sounds good Tyson!!” Ray smiled. The Chinese teen
looked at his card, then at the door across from Tyson and Kenny’s. “Guess
that room’s mine!” He walked over and opened the door.
“Ok! I’m around the corner!” Max dragged his heavy
suitcase with him and looked over his shoulder at the others. “Lemme just put
this thing away and I’ll be out in a jiffy!!”
“Groovy!!” Tyson grinned and spun around, heading into
cabin 433 to drop his bag down and get his swimming trunks.
****
"Okay!!” Tyson made a fist, as he stood by the pool. “We have
our trunks, let's get changed and swim!!"
"Tyson, we just got on the boat!! It set sail ten minutes ago
and you want to get in the pool!? Nobody’s in it, it’s probably not open
yet!!”
“Relax Chief! This is a holiday remember?” Tyson waved his
hands and then abruptly turned. “Hey buddy!” Tyson yelled out to an employee
by the poolside.
“Tyson!! No!!” Kenny screeched, embarrassed.
“Only Tyson.” Ray said shaking his head. Max nodded in agreement.
“Yeah?” The guy replied.
“The pool open??” Tyson asked.
“Sure is!” The employee exclaimed. “Most people wait ‘till the
ship gets further out, but yeah, you can go in, kid.”
“Awesome! Thanks!!” Tyson waved at the guy who smiled and waved back.
“Change rooms are right behind you, and towels can be borrowed from the
activities desk!” The employee called out helpfully before he then entered a
small staff room for the pool deck people.
“Okay guys! Time to swim! Grab your stuff and…” Tyson trailed off
as he suddenly spotted the blader that had disappeared from them earlier.
“Wha- hey! Kai!” The world champion shouted from across the deck,
making Ray, Max and Kenny turn to look as well.
The team captain looked in Tyson’s direction, making eye contact with
the midnight haired teen, before he hastily turned away and started heading over
to lean against the railing of the ship, staring out at the water.
No more running, Kai. Tyson
thought seriously. Starting now, I’m gonna find out why you keep avoiding
me. The baseball capped teen started to stride purposefully towards the
imposing figure of Kai, determined to get him to join the Bladebreakers in the
pool.
Tyson reached the team captain and leaned against the railing as well,
beside him, looking out of the corner of his eye. The midnight haired teen
opened his mouth to speak, but was cut off.
“Tyson…I’m not getting in the pool.” Kai stated bluntly, still
staring out at the water.
“Wha…!” Tyson gawked, caught off guard by Kai’s acknowledgement
of him being there and also that the team captain had shut down him down before
he had even said anything. “What makes you think I was gonna ask you to?”
Tyson asked, playing dumb.
From Kai’s profile, Tyson could make out that Kai had closed his eyes
and a somewhat annoyed look crossed the taller teen’s face, before he resumed
looking at the ocean.
“You’re holding your swimming trunks and I heard you yelling about
wanting to go in the pool.” Kai replied.
Come on Tyson, you can do better than this.
The world champion thought to himself. Kai’s gonna join us, he’s not
gonna spend this cruise training!! And I’m going to find out why he
always does that too.
Trying a different approach, Tyson pulled his yellow t-shirt away from
his skin, trying to get some air. “Man, the sun is cooking today!!”
Tyson said dramatically, taking off his baseball cap and starting to fan himself
with it, trying to look very pitiful and overheated.
Kai, hearing this, finally turned his head to look at Tyson, vaguely
amused. “…That won’t work.”
Tyson adopted a pleading look. “Come on Kai, if I don’t get in that
pool I’m gonna be baked alive!!”
Kai snorted quietly under his breath at that, his auburn eyes darted to
steal a glance at Tyson. “Medium or well done?” The team captain questioned,
looking back at the ocean.
“Extra crispy!!” Tyson replied and started to fan Kai with his hat.
Kai shot Tyson an incredulous look.
“Just put your feet in the water, at least. You can’t say you’re
comfortable in this heat!” Tyson tried persuasively. “…You can train
later, I promise!” Tyson exclaimed and then grimaced a bit, before smiling
weakly up at his team captain again, thinking. This has to
work! “I’ll even train with you.”
Kai seemed to consider that. “…A battle?”
“Sure.” Tyson grinned.
Kai pushed himself off of leaning on the railing and started walking over
to where the others were standing, Tyson following him with a smile on his face.
“You’ll regret agreeing to that, Tyson.” Kai said as the shorter
teen started to match his pace. “I’ll be the winner of that battle.”
“We’ll see.” Tyson said gladly as they reached the rest of the
Bladebreakers.
The Chief sighed. “Tyson I don’t understand why you can’t wait
until later!” Kenny made to shake his head in exasperation but immediately
stopped when he felt woozy.
"No way, I'm too hot, I gotta get in that pool." Tyson stated,
pointing to the sparkling clear blue water.
“Hmph, yeah.” Kai suddenly said. “Tyson's very hot.”
Everyone stared at him strangely, and the team captain
adopted a strained expression. It disappeared quickly however, when Kai glared
at them all.
“I mean,” Kai stressed. “He's sweating…
and he smells.”
Tyson grinned widely, pleased that the team captain was actually cracking
jokes about him again, instead of being silent. “See Kenny? Even Kai agrees
that I need in that pool right now!!”
“C’mon Chief! What could it hurt?” Max asked.
“Yeah Chief! Get your swim trunks and come in too!” Ray suggested.
“Stop being such a spoilsport, Kenny!” Tyson
complained.
The Chief was about to give a reply when suddenly there was
an above ordinary bobbing of the ship, making Kenny’s hand flash to cover his
mouth, and sent the short teen running for the nearest bathroom.
“Was he going to get his swim stuff?” Max questioned,
scratching his head.
“Er, I think he was going to be sick.” Ray answered
with a small sweatdrop.
“Aw the Chief’ll be good as new in no time!” Tyson
grinned slyly, then brandished his red swim trunks out to the side like a
bullfighter. “Let’s go!” Tyson waved his red trunks at the rest of the
Bladebreakers and stomped his feet loudly. “OLE!” Tyson shouted, whipping
the red fabric out of the way and Max and Ray thundered past.
“WOO! POOL!” Max yelled.
“Grab a change room!!” Ray yelled too, as they rounded
a corner to the ship’s dressing rooms.
Tyson spared them a glance then raised an eyebrow at Kai,
who was standing there with his arms crossed. “Coming, Señor
Capitán?” The world champion grinned, waving his swimming trucks at his team
captain.
Kai looked away, a large frown on his face. This is
probably a mistake. He thought. What if he couldn’t control himself around
Tyson in the pool? It was a risk that was dangerous to take.
“Come on Kai.” Tyson said kindly, and Kai looked back finding that the
shorter teen had gotten closer. The duel-haired boy’s heart began to beat
faster.
“Come on, you said you would! Don't
make me ride you there! Greauhkgh!!!!" Tyson pretended to reach for Kai,
making an annoying animal noise.
Kai stepped back out of reflex, and rolled his eyes at
Tyson’s antics…Sometimes the urges were very easy to control.
“Tyson, you aren’t riding me anywhere.” Kai replied sarcastically before
he paused, realizing that what he had just said sounded kind of wrong. Kai
uncrossed his arms and straightened his shoulders suddenly feeling the
overbearing heat that Tyson had so badly wanted to get out of. He felt hot and
uncomfortable - especially since he had had a split image of Tyson ‘riding’
him in that wrong way…
If Tyson had noticed Kai’s lack of composure, the
midnight haired teen didn’t say anything. He just grinned and gestured for Kai
to follow him, practically dancing to the changing rooms where Max and Ray were.
Kai shook his head and followed the shorter teen, desperately trying to get
himself under control.
****
While the Bladebreakers had been talking, some women and
older men on the deck had started to sunbath and were using the change rooms to
put on their bathing suits. Max and Ray had managed to score some small stalls
and were currently getting on their trunks, but Tyson was left standing outside
with Kai. Some deck chairs had been set out recently on the poolside, but no one
had entered to pool itself yet.
Tyson wanted to be the first person in.
“Man! Can’t these people change their clothes
faster?”
“Most are old, obviously.” Kai replied.
“Yeah aw geeze!” The midnight haired teen bunched and
unbunched the trunks in his hands. “So you got your swim trunks on
underneath?” Tyson asked conversationally, and looked down at Kai’s belted,
baggy pants. Kai flushed badly when he saw where Tyson was looking.
“The deal was that I’d put my feet in the water,
Tyson.” Kai said sternly, pulling the world champion’s attention back to his
face. “Nothing other than that.”
Tyson smiled. It was a start. “Okay Kai.” He looked
back at the row of change rooms. “There!!” Tyson suddenly exclaimed.
Someone had stepped out of a change room and Tyson quickly
dashed in it, pulling the thick grey curtain closed behind him and proceeded to
change into his swimming shorts. Kai’s eyes were trained on the portion of
Tyson still visible from where the curtain ended a few inches below the world
champion’s knees. The team captain watched in interest as Tyson quickly pulled
his shoes and socks off, and then the teen’s blue shorts and underwear were
pooled around his ankles with Tyson stepping out of them…
Kai’s eyes quickly darted away when he noticed he had
begun to stare unabashedly. Slowly though, the duel-haired teen’s gaze drifted
back to Tyson’s legs and he wondered what it would be like to be in there with
Tyson, helping him get undressed…
Kai moved forward and pulled the curtain open, then swiftly
pulled it closed behind him as he stepped inside the small change room.
Tyson had been gripping the edges of his yellow t-shirt
getting ready to pull it over his head when saw Kai. “Kai!!” Tyson gaped for
a second before a wide smile appeared on his face. Tyson was naked from the
waist down.
“Tyson.” Kai replied, before he reached out and tore
Tyson’s t-shirt over his head, throwing it onto the pile of clothes on the
small bench rest. That done, Kai wrapped his arms around Tyson’s naked body,
and pulled the smaller teen against him, feeling that already perfectly tanned
skin through the material of his clothing.
Tyson’s midnight coloured hair tickled Kai’s chin as he
lifted his head from where it had been pushed against the team captain’s
shoulder. The shorter boy looked up into Kai’s eyes, a coy smile on his lips.
“Did our deal include you putting your hands on my butt,
Kai?” Tyson grinned and stood on his tiptoes coming within millimetres of the
auburn-eyed boy’s lips.
Smirking, Kai pinched Tyson’s backside, enjoying it as
the longhaired teen arched against him at that the teasing touch. “In some
ways this is better than a beybattle with you.” Kai said lowly, his eyes
burning into Tyson’s.
The shorter teen answered him by closing the distance
between their lips, kissing Kai forcefully on the mouth.
But that didn’t really happen.
Kai snapped back to reality, and a cold horror began to
fill his being as he noticed - His toes were shifting inside his shoes, wanting
to walk forward and do exactly what he had imagined.
Stop thinking like this!! Kai yelled at himself
mentally. It’s one thing to be attracted… but to actually show it
would be- Kai stopped that line of thought, not liking where it was going.
He did not want to be reminded of just how taboo something like this actually
was – because what he had imagined was something that wasn’t supposed to be
excepted, by himself, by anyone else and especially not Tyson.
Kai’s hands clenched into fists at his body and
subconscious mind’s betrayal. This will not happen again. He willed it
to be true, but the truth was, there was still a part of him that relished in
the fantasies, for they were the only place he would ever be able to have
something with Tyson. He could not completely give it up, and not for the first
time, Kai suddenly wondered what it would be like to give in…
He took a step forward.
“Hey Kai!”
Kai started and turned to the sound of the voice. Max waved
from where he and Ray were standing in their swim trunks near a lounge chair by
the ship’s pool. Closing his eyes painfully for a moment, Kai opened them
before he made his way to the other Bladebreakers.
“Tyson out yet?” Ray asked.
“No.” Kai replied then stiffly took a seat on the
lounge chair.
“Aw well, you snooze you lose!” Max said smiling
smugly, and made to dive into the water.
As soon he was about to get in the pool though, Tyson ran
out from his changing room dressed in his red swim trunks, and carrying his
clothes in his arms. “Coming through!!” Tyson sang, dumping the clothing on
Kai’s lounge chair, the midnight haired teen barrelled past Max and Ray, and
jumped – doing a cannonball into the clear water.
“CANONBALL!!!”
A magnificent pillar of water rose from the pool making
everyone watch in awe as it rose over top of their heads and sunrays sparkled
through it.
The pause was interrupted when Max cried out in shock, and
the large mass of water crashed down sending out a large spray that covered most
of the people who had been in line with Tyson’s jump. This caused some women
to scream in outrage at being soaked at the side of the pool. Bubbles and
ripples covered the surface of the water and the now soaked Max and Ray peered
over the edge.
Tyson’s head popped up, his bangs plastered to his face,
and he blew out some water. “That was GREAT!”
Ray grinned at the boy. “That was some splash.”
“Yeah,” Max agreed before grinning evilly. “But I can
make one bigger!!”
“Oh yeah?!” Tyson asked, defending his title.
“YEAH!” The blond shouted and flung his towel
haphazardly. It landed on Kai who looked extremely irritated. Max ran back a few
feet then sprinted, jumping off the edge of the pool and over Tyson’s head.
"WOOOO!!!!!” He yelled loudly, spreading his arms and legs as if he were
flying. His body went hurtling towards the water and then-
SPLAT!
Everyone cringed.
“BELLY FLOP!” Tyson laughed raucously, holding the side
of the pool to avoid drowning.
“Ouch!”
Ray cringed. He eyes Max’s floating form. “That had to hurt.”
The amber-eyed boy
slipped into the cool water and together, he and Tyson swam over to Max’s
body. The blond flipped onto his back to float and his whole face and chest were
red.
“Aw man…” He
laughed. “It stings!!!”
“Some splash you
had there, Maxie!” Ray joked.
“Ah, shuddap…”
The Chinese blader
suddenly turned to Tyson. They were all wading around in the middle of the deep
end and Kai was pretty much out of earshot. He was sitting looking very
disgruntled on his deck chair and had tossed Max’s towel onto the empty one
beside him, which Ray had rested his clothes and towel on.
“Tyson!” He whispered conspiratorially. Max and Tyson
immediately quieted, leaning closer.
The midnight locked young man raised an eyebrow. “Yeah
Ray?”
“Now would be the best time to get to the bottom of
Kai’s avoidance, don’t you think?”
“Oh yeah that!!!” Max chimed in, still rubbing his face
to get the sting away. The other two bladers instantly shushed him.
“Whoops…”
Tyson’s mouth became a smile. “You’re right, Ray. Kai
and I have a deal!” With that he swam over to where the team captain was
lounging, his arms were crossed and a sullen expression on his face.
Tyson noticed that Kai was still wearing his scarf
and goggled as his hands touched the hot boarding of the ship’s deck. Kai
realized the boy was there and sighed in agitation.
“Kai! Time for you to join in now!!”
Kai was aggrieved for an instant. Tyson looked so… different
and… wet. Tyson’s ever-present baseball cap was lying next to his
thigh on the lounge chair and all he had on were red trunks… which Kai
couldn’t see. The sun was really beating down today, making Tyson’s already
slightly bronzed skin shine contrasting the dark sopping locks of his long hair.
The duel-haired boy got up uncomfortably.
“This is a waste of time.” Kai muttered.
Oh no you don’t. Tyson
thought, and hauled himself out of the pool. Water ran down his developing body
in rivulets and his red trunks clung to his thighs. He walked forward
purposefully and stood in front of his team captain.
"Kai, take that scarf off right
now!!" Tyson commanded and reached out, whipping the scarf off, from around
Kai’s neck. It slipping off easily and fell into a silky pile on the ship’s
deck.
Kai look taken aback, but Tyson didn’t
care – he was tired of Kai avoiding him, and starting to act like he didn’t
exist when they had begun to get closer. Kai needed to loosen up.
Putting his hands on his hips, Tyson looked
straight into Kai’s shocked eyes. "I'll get you a drink so you don't
cook.” He said and then twisted, spotting the back of one of the cruise’s
staff members. “HEYYYY BUDDY!!!! CAN I GET A FROZEN DRINK OVER HERE!"
Tyson yelled loudly and waved.
The same employee from before turned around
and smiled in surprise. He gave Tyson a thumb’s up and was already walking
towards the small bar. “Sure thing kid!! One virgin drink coming up!”
Tyson grinned and gave a thumb’s up back
before turning around and taking hold of Kai’s arm. "Now put those feet
in before I get totally fried in this heat!” Tyson exclaimed steering his
slightly resistant team captain to the pool’s edge.
“It’s relaxing, trust me.” Tyson smiled and jumped
back in, this time kicking up water that splashed Kai’s shoes and lower pant
legs.
“Tyson!!” Kai said in outrage, as he quickly pulled off
his soggy shoes and socks setting them underneath the lounge chair. He glared at
anyone who was still staring at the scene the rookie-turned-world champion had
caused. What had he been thinking when he accepted Tyson’s offer for a
beybattle? Oh, that’s right he hadn’t been thinking. He had never
been able to resist beyblading against Tyson and now he couldn’t resist just Tyson…
Kai finished rolling up his baggy pants and let his legs
plunge into the refreshingly cool water. From his pocket he pulled out his pair
of dark sunglasses he had carried with him and put them on, trying to look
aloof. The ship’s employee handed him a slushy pina colada drink and Kai
accepted it without a word.

A few minutes later, Kai found that Tyson had been right
about one thing – it was relaxing.
Kai's eyes lowered behind his sunglasses as he watched
the crystal clear water of the pool waft around his shins. He kicked slightly,
seeing a sparkly trail of water droplets lift out into the air and land back
into the pool with small splashes. The sun was very warm today, burning
into his skin pleasantly.
Kai closed his eyes completely.
Tyson, noticing Kai's relaxed state, waded through the
pool over to the team captain, a smile forming on his face. He placed his hands
on Kai's knees, making the taller teen's auburn eyes slip open. He pushed his
sunglasses to rest on his head and gazed down at Tyson.
The world champ's ponytail was waving around in
enticing swirls in the water behind him and his eyes were bright. "Finally
relaxing, Kai?"
"Yeah." Kai said lowly in return, and then
reached beside him to sip at his large pina colada drink, complete with little
umbrella and flowers.
Tyson's hands slipped higher onto Kai's thighs, fingers
rubbing back and forth lightly at the edge of his rolled up pants. "That
looks good..."
Kai looked back at the teen in front of him, heart pounding. "You
want a taste?
The midnight haired boy's head nodded, a grin spreading
over his features.
Kai sipped up a large amount, the sweet cool taste
flooding his mouth and making his brain freeze. Then he leant down and covered
Tyson's small mouth with his own, prying open the smaller teen's mouth with his
tongue. He let the slushy drink slide into Tyson's mouth, slipping his tongue
past those soft lips as well to share the taste
Tyson moaned and his hands went around Kai's waist. The
drink melted down his throat. They parted and the team captain's lips were a
delectable red from the cool drink and the heat of kissing Tyson. He inhaled
deeply.
Kai opened his eyes and his face creased in alarm. It happened
again… He shook his head and got up heading back to his lounge chair. Why
doesn’t it go away? That’s what a crush does. It goes away. But…
Kai swallowed as he looked at his half-finished pina colada. Tyson’s all I
can think about…
This day it had happened three times. Three times he had
found himself unable to keep his thoughts in line, and three times he had found
himself on the brink of giving in to his urges. That night, Kai had trained with
Dranzer to fight his feelings and needs away.
But it didn’t work.
The urges were always getting worse.
