Yamagari
Raddtiz shook his head as his brother came out of the lottery office. The boy…man was practically skipping. “You’re 18 years old for Legendary’s sake!” he hissed at his younger sibling when they were within talking distance, eyeing the people in the crowded, dusty street.
“Oh, come on, Radditz! You know you’re just as excited as I am,” Kakarott said as he settled down for his older brother’s sake, and wrapped his tail around his waist. The army certainly had taken some of the spunk out him.
“It’s been generations since any of the lower class families have won a chance to hunt in The Yamagari,” Radditz said. He turned on his heel, and adjusted his bag over his shoulder as he started the long walk home. The spring wind blew gently at his face, lifting his spirits. Nothing was like the scents on wind of his home world.
Kakarott frowned behind his brother’s back, but then smiled, “Well, then it’s about damn time for one of our families to go then, isn’t it?!”
Raddtiz shook his head, smiling despite his pretenses, “You…”
“Yes?” Kakarott asked, taking a leaping step forward so he was walking next to his brother instead of a step or two behind.
Raddtiz stopped and swung an arm around his brother’s neck, hugging him close. He’d have to get as many of these in as possible during his leave time. Two weeks just didn’t seem long enough. His brother was going up fast, and he didn’t think there would be this much playfulness in him much longer.
Kakarott squirmed a little in embarrassment from the affectionate display from his brother in front of so many strangers. “It’s a damn good thing you were born third class,” Raddtiz said as he let his brother go.
Kakarott growled and stepped ahead, “I don’t see why you’d say that.”
Raddtiz sighed as his brother took a longer lead, “’Cause I’d hate to see what war would do to you,” he whispered to himself before following the younger. He and his father never talked about it, but they both knew his younger sibling had some tendencies towards empathy; more of a healer’s talent than that of a warrior.
His brother took flight at the capital city’s limits, and he quickly followed suit.

“Did you hear?…” Kakarott looked at the group of graduating students. He’d been hearing this phrase a lot this morning…but every group would stop what they were talking about when he came any closer…it was nerve racking.
He turned his head back in the direction he was walking, but too late not to run into the person standing in his way, “Well cousin? How does it feel?”
“I have no idea what you are talking about, Turles,” Kakarott confessed.
“The lottery results came out this morning,” Turles smirked down at his younger cousin.
Kakarott’s heart skipped, “And?” he hadn’t told his cousin he’d entered his family in the eight-year lottery. No one, other than his brother, knew he had entered his family; they would have accused his father of seeing it in one of his visions, and possibly accused him of cheating.
“Seems your family won one of the two slots for the hunt,” Turles grinned.
Kakarott felt his eyes widen. His cousin was infamous for giving him a bad time, but if Turles didn’t know he had entered his family…then this probably wasn’t a lie. “Where are the results posted?” he asked, his voice shaky with barely contained exciement.
Turles turned and headed towards the campus office, “Come on!” he yelled back at Kakarott as the other was too slow to follow.

“RADDITZ!” Radditz turned at the sound of his name shouted by his superior officer.
“Yes sir?!” he asked as Nappa strode closer to him.
Nappa handed over a document to his newest commander. “You are going to get an extra long leave this winter.”
Radditz unscrolled the document handed to him. He threw his head back and barked, “No way!”
Nappa grinned and clapped him on the shoulder, “We don’t joke about something like this!”
Radditz read the document further. Not only had his family won the right to hunt in the Yamagari, he was going to get an extra month off. Two weeks before the hunt, and two weeks after, for a total of six weeks of leave time during the Octagonal Winter’s Solstice.
Nappa grinned as he watched Radditz read the document, “You’ve never been on one, have you?” he asked knowingly. He spoke again when Radditz shook his head in the negative, “Well, I’ve been on a couple. I’ll lend you some pointers.”
Radditz looked up and grinned, “Thank you,” then whispered, “You want to go, don’t you.”
Nappa laughed at him, “No, I already get to go with the royal family,” Nappa said before he addressed the group of soldiers milling around, “Congradulate Radditz! His family gets to go on The Hunt!”
There were many whoops and catcalls from Radditz’s peers.
~o0o~
Bardock looked at the document in his hands and sighed, before taking a sip of his tea. It was exciting to have been drawn to go on the hunt, but his family didn’t have the equipment necessary to go on this crusade. He knew Kakarott was going to be more disappointed than anyone else…
“DAD!” Kakarott sprang through the door, “Did you hear!???”
Bardock set his copy down and sighed, “Yes, Kakarott, I heard.”
Kakarott came around the corner of the room his father was sitting in, “What’s wrong?” he asked, noting the steaming cup setting next to his father, and fearing the worst.
“I don’t think you realize exactly what kind of credits it takes to pay for the supplies of such an outing,” Bardock stated, easing his son’s initial worry, but creating another. He visibly watched his son deflate at his words, and regretted that he couldn’t do this for his sons. He cursed the visions. If it weren’t for them, he’d still be in the army; still be providing like a father should. This crafting business didn’t pay enough.
“Oh…” Kakarott sat down in a chair across from his father. Ideas came and went through his mind about how to gain the credits he thought would be needed in order to pull this off.
There was a knock at their door, interrupting both their thoughts, “HO! Bardock!”
Bardock grinned at the sound of Toma’s voice, “Toma! You scoundrel!” he yelled as he headed for the front door.
Kakarott sighed as his father went to answer the door, and headed to his room with his studies. He knew it had been too good to be true.
He had made it to his bedroom door when his father hollered at him, “Kakarott! Get your ass out to the front room!”
Kakarott sighed and threw his bag onto his bedroom floor before walking toward the front room. The last thing he wanted was to visit with his father’s friend. He always felt like such a let down when the battle stories started.
His eyes grew wide when he realized it was his father’s whole crew…grinning from ear to ear no less, “Yes?” he asked a bit hesitantly, tail tightening around his waist.
“Take a look outside boy,” Bardock told him…trying hard to remove the grin from his face and keep his tail from swing happily.
Kakarott scowled at the term ‘boy’. He was beginning to realize he’d never be a man in his father’s eyes until he moved out on his own and proved himself….
Thoughts of growing up stopped as he looked out their front door at the mound of things sitting on their front porch, “Wha?” his tail unraveled a bit from his waist. He couldn’t believe his eyes; it looked to be everything they would need for….
“We thought it was a great cause to dip into the um…poor soldier fund!” Selypa said diplomatically. She wasn’t certain how much Bardock had told his sons about…well, things. The moneymaking side runs had certainly been cut back since the sayians stopped working for the Cold Impire.
Kakarott stepped closer to the pile. Furs, cold camping gear, boots, winter clothing, full length-hooded fur cloaks. “We didn’t think it was a good time to get the rations you’ll need up there,” Totepo spoke, “It’s not even harvest yet. Food supplies could go bad before the actual excursion.”
“So, Bardock,” Toma started, “The lottery allows for five hunters per group. Given any thought to who other than your sons and yourself you’ll be having with you?”
Bardock chuckled…straight to the point, “Actually, I hadn’t. I didn’t even know we were going until just now. I have spent half of the day thinking over how to tell my boys it couldn’t happen,” he looked over at his son, “Well, Kakarott? You’re the one who entered us? Did you give any thought to who the other two would be?”
Kakarott looked at the group and gulped, “Actually…I hadn’t thought about it that much…trying not to get my hopes up,” he looked at the expectant faces in his father’s group, and then back at his dad, “This morning, when I first found out, I thought I would ask Turles if he wanted to go.”
Bardock nodded, although he didn’t know how his nephew’s family would react. They’d had little contact with the rest of the family since he had fallen…ill, “Only makes sense. And?”
“Well, that leaves one spot open,” Selypa spoke up.
“I don’t know…” Kakarott started, “What if Radditz has thought of someone?”
Bardock nodded, “And if he hasn’t? Do you mind if one of my crew go?” Kakarott shook his head at his father’s question, and Bardock turned back to his friends, “Okay then. You ruffians will draw straws, in hopes that my eldest has not thought of someone he’d like to go with us.”
There were groans from the group, except for Totepo. They all knew he had the best luck when it came to things of chance. Bardock went to the kitchen and pulled four straws from the broom. He shuffled them around in his hand as he walked back to the hopeful people in his welcoming room. He held both fists up, “Who picks first?”
Selypa stepped up quickly and pulled a straw, hiding it from everyone’s view as best as she could. Totepo stepped up next and did the same. Panbukin followed, and then Toma. They all held out their straws at the same time. There were three groans, and one huge grin, “Well Toma? You think you’re up to this?” Bardock asked.
“Well, I won’t get my hopes up until after you’ve communicated with Radditz, but if he hasn’t someone in mind, I wouldn’t pass this up, even if I didn’t feel up to it,” he grinned at his ex-commander.

“Who are they?” Brolli asked as he looked out the window of the carrier. The other family chosen to go on the hunt was already at the snow line, surrounding a huge bonfire.
Vegeta shrugged at his younger companion’s question. He was annoyed his father had insisted both Peragus and Brolli come with them. He knew what both their fathers were hoping for…it just wasn’t going to happen. He liked the kid, man now…just not that way.
Nappa looked out the window of the cockpit and chuckled, “The one with all the hair is Radditz. He’s one of the newer commanders,” he informed the rest of the group, “From conversations, I’d say the youngest in the group is his younger brother, Kakarott. And one of the two with the same spikes as the youngest would be their father, ex-commander Bardock.”
That got the king’s attention, “The Bardock?”
Nappa nodded, “I am certain that it is. Is that a problem?” The general asked.
Vejita frowned and shook his head, “I don’t know why he didn’t take the offer to come and live at the palace.”
Peragus spoke, “At the time? He was a raving lunatic!”
The king bared his teeth. If it weren’t for Bardock’s predictions Peragus’s son would one day become the legendary, the man would not be in such high company, “He saved our race, Peragus. Never forget that.”
The prince took a glance out the window with new interest. If it were true, then this would be the same man that had done something to change his father’s mind about letting him go under Frieza’s direct service.
Peragus grimaced and sat down. He didn’t trust Bardock. Anyone with that kind of ability….
Nappa readied their flight for landing, “Everyone take their seats. We get to meet the other group in just a few minutes.”
~o0o~
Kakarott shaded his eyes as the ship landed. He was nervous about meeting this group. Radditz and Bardock had assured him the general, Nappa, wasn’t a bad fellow. His father had become very quiet when he had asked him about the king. No one seemed to know much about the prince, and they certainly had no idea about the two open slots the royal party had.
Turles nudged him in the shoulder, “Relax. This hunt is strictly physical. No ki and no weapons.”
Kakarott sighed, “Yeah…doesn’t mean I don’t have the right to be nervous,” he’d had the benefit of his father’s intense training for the last 12 years, and knew his physical fighting skills were to par with the best of them…still, he didn’t think he’d made it much past second class when it came to power levels.
Turles chuckled, more to cover up his own second-guessing than to make fun of his younger cousin, “Well, I am glad after this point, the two parties will be on their own.”
Kakarott grinned, “Thank the Ancestors,” he felt uncomfortable enough in first-class’ presences…he didn’t want to think about how it was going to feel to be in so many elite class’ presences. So much power in one area was going to make him dizzy. He had a hard time justifying to others why he had no need of a scouter. Thankfully most assumed it was because he never aspired to be much of a fighter, other than to defend himself.
The door of the ship finally opened, and people started disembarking. Radditz was the first to approach the group, first saluting and then hugging a huge bald man and laughing. Kakarott watched as his brother bowed to two of the others; both as remarkably alike as he and his father were, excepting the age differences. The other two his brother was introduced to were given admirable nods, but nothing to make it seem as though they held titles of any sort.
Kakarott felt himself fidgeting as the group came towards the fire his group had built earlier. His tail kept tightening and losing, and if he didn’t think it totally inappropriate, he would have headed for the trees before the group had headed their direction. He looked over at his father, hoping for some sort of guidance from the person he knew had walked in such high circles before, but knew there would be no good example from his father has he watched him take a deep drink of his tea.
“Do you mind if we join your fire?” the person Kakarott assumed was the King asked his father.
Bardock bowed, “It would be an honor, your Majesty.”
“Radditz, why don’t you make introductions?” Nappa requested.
Raddtiz nodded, “The persons in the royal hunting party are: King Vejita, Prince Vegeta, General Nappa, Peragus and Brolli, his son,” each person in the group nodded as they were introduced.
Kakarott took his cue from his cousin, and bowed as the royals were introduced, but only nodded as the others were. He found his eyes having a difficult time moving on after the prince had been introduced. The fire glow was making the red highlights in the prince’s hair abundantly obvious.
“And for our hunting party,” Radditz interrupted Kakarott’s thoughts, “Myself, Commander Raddtiz. Former commander Bardock. First class soldier Toma. My cousin Turles, and my younger brother, Kakarott.”
Kakarott barely kept from squirming as all eyes turned towards him. He tried to smile, but felt it turn into a defensive grimace. Why had his brother introduced him last?! He blushed as he felt the prince’s eyes glance over him a second time. It wasn’t until he drew his attention away he noticed the youngest in their group, Brolli, glaring at him. He gauged the young man probably wasn’t much older than himself.
“We need to start unpacking our stuff…,” Nappa started.
“You’re welcome to place it here,” Bardock offered.
“Thank you, Commander Bardock,” Vejita said.
“Just Bardock, your Majesty,” Bardock shifted his footing as he said it, but that was the only sign he was uncomfortable.
“Then just Vejita…at least for the duration of the hunt,” the king said. Kakarott observed as everyone in his group, including his father, relax after the king’s statement. “Besides, the history of this hunt…there weren’t any kings when it started,” there were a couple of healthy laughs from the royal party.
“Going to let your hair down?” Nappa asked.
“I’d have to shave my head as bald as yours for that to ever happen,” Vejita joked back, and Kakarott decided that without the titles, he liked the man.
Nappa shook his head and turned back towards the ship, the rest of the group following.
Kakarott let out a heavy breath, and his cousin turned towards him, “Well, I think you’re still the youngest!”
Kakarott shook his head and grinned, “If that is the only thing I get teased about during this hunt, I’ll be very please.”
Trules laughed and turned back to the task interrupted by the arrival of the other party. Kakarott took a last glance at the prince’s retreating form before doing the same.
~o0o~
They had tracked three of the yacho for five days. At first, Kakarott thought his brother and cousin were playing a joke on him. There was no way something as big as the tracks left in the snow indicated could hide this long. The terrain was sparsely covered with trees and brush. The snow covered barren rocks weren’t conducive to hiding places. But those were the tracks his father and his father’s friend were focusing on.
Kakarott pulled the wind salve from his pocket and started applying it to the tips of his ears, lips and nose. He placed it back into his pocket before pulling his fur tighter around his shoulders as his teeth started to chatter and brought his attention back to what his father and Toma were discussing, “At least three of them. The last cycle has been good to them, if they are traveling in groups,” Toma said.
Bardock nodded, “The next hunt will have more than two parties,” he sighed, visible as fog forming out of his exhaled breath. “I don’t see any indication of lagers in this group. If they are all at full health…”
“Then it’s better to find them in the first week, while we have most of our strength left. I can’t imagine trying to take down a full grown yacho in its prime without ki attacks, if we get into the second week,” Radditz threw in.
Bardock nodded and stood only to drop back into a hunched position. Both Radditz and Kakarott reacted immediately, “How much tea have you been drinking?” Radditz asked, having been closer than his brother.
Bardock groaned, pinching the bridge of his nose, “I cut back. I seems I didn’t bring enough for two weeks.”
Radditz glanced up at his brother, and then to Toma, “We have to build a fire, and brew some.”
Turles growled in disgust, “And waste half a day on tea?” his lips were chapped and peeling, not realizing how much moisture the wind and cold climate would draw out of his skin.
“Would you rather we lose him wandering around naked in the snow?” Radditz asked.
Turles stood, kicking at the snow, “No,” once again he was reminded why such a good warrior would have quit the ranks in his prime.
“Then we build a fire. I need you two to go and get some wood,” Radditz ordered.
Turles turned towards the tree line, and Kakarott quickly followed him.
“Are you going to have to go back?” Toma asked after the youngsters were out of earshot.
Bardock shook his head, “No, I’ll up the dosage. We just need to make the kill quicker than we thought.”
Toma laughed at his friend, but Radditz frowned at his father, “Don’t tell me you’ve been dragging this out on purpose.”
Bardock snorted, “No. Been waiting for one of them to show signs of falling behind…” he was cut off as the younger two of the group came back with the first batch of wood. He sighed in disgust with himself as he felt someone take the pack off of his back, and then heard them rummaging around in it.
“Toma,” Bardock said and waited for his friend to look at him, “I don’t thank you or the others often…for defying Gynu’s orders, and bringing me back to the planet yourselves.”
Toma grunted, not really certain he wanted to be thanked. “But it is important that you did so, instead heading off to the next fight. I’d hate to think that those hours of ranting on the ship back would have been wasted. We…I almost didn’t get an audience with the king as it was.”
“Just be thankful that freak lightening storm caused the power outage in the launching grid. I don’t think a raving lunatic would have been able to put that operation on hold,” Toma whispered thoughtfully.
Radditz held his peace as he listened to his father talk. He filled a pot with snow, and started it melting over the small fire he had built. He was throwing in the herbs as the younger men came back with second armfuls of wood.
“What now?” Turles asked as he dropped off his burden.
“We eat?” Kakarott asked hopefully, and everyone in the group laughed. Kakarott smiled; he didn’t mind lightening the hearts of the group at his own expense.
~o0o~
Kakarott finally realized what all of the soldiers meant, when they said ‘instincts kick in’.
Cloven hooves were kicking. Sayians were yelling. Blood was being let. His heart was pumping in seeming triple time. Yet everything else slowed down, and he was noticing some of the strangest things, intermix with ‘important’ ones.
Radditz had a black eye. *duck a hoof* Nappa was dragging Vejita away from the fight. *evade a tusk* Turles was unconscious and face down in the snow. *grab a snout and lever oneself onto the back of the enemy* Brolli and Vegeta being cornered by five of the beasts. *strike down and rip out the spine*
He glanced in the last direction information had come from, practically smelling something in the air. Brolli’s hair was waving radically, although it didn’t seem as though he was powering up…
…he didn’t realize his own was doing the same.
*roll in the snow* As another yacho’s hoof tried to strike him. He yelled in outrage, and stood. The next assault he didn’t even try to evade. He waited, and struck the animal’s rib cage with the heel of his hand, knowing the heart beneath would explode at the impact.
He heard his father yell and looked in time to see him crushed beneath one of the, now dead, animals.
Vegeta had severed three spines in the fashion he had the first kill.
Nappa used the same heart strike to defend the king from a charging beast.
Someone decided to forego tradition, and was firing ki blasts.
Silence. Heat escaping in the form of steam. Sayians groaning.
Why was everyone looking at him? He…he hadn’t been the one to break protocol…had he?
“Kakarott…” his head felt as if it were in slow motion as he turned to face his brother. One of his arms was broken; easy to tell with the bone ruptured through the skin.
“I didn’t mean to, Radditz,” was the only thing he managed to say before he left.
~o0o~
Vegeta grunted as he pulled Brolli out of the snow. He turned as he heard the name of one of the other group’s people spoken, and watched as the youngest fighter left without cause.
He turned to glare at Peragus, disgusted at the man who had acted without honor in a crisis. People died on these hunting trips. And they died with honor…unless someone in the group fired ki blasts.
Now anyone whose injuries took them wouldn’t be able to be honored as a warrior. The prince growled in disgust, but looked to Nappa, “How are you?”
Nappa panted and looked up, “Good enough to start to straighten things out.”
“Good. I am going after the boy,” and he left. His father, his responsibilities to his hunting party and the other….
Nappa grunted, even though the acknowledge me was too late for Vegeta to hear, “Any orders, your Majesty?” he asked the slowly rousing monarch.
“In bad enough condition to leave this mess up to you,” Vejita said, coughing up blood directly after.
Nappa nodded and finally took in the whole scene, shaking his head. Each of these beasts had the power level equal to, if not higher than, a third class. The point of the hunt was to weed off the weakest one in a group…not take on ten.
And they were smart, Nappa realized. This hadn’t been an accident, both groups coming together at the same time…
“Brolli!” Nappa yelled to get the dazed, young man’s attention, “Help Toma dig Bardock out of the snow.”
Brolli nodded and headed towards the soldier and the beast he was trying to tunnel under.
~o0o~
Sun glared off of the snow as Vegeta followed the tracks of Bardock’s youngest son. The indentations changed from brilliant white to cold blue in shadow. Why the young man hadn’t flown if his intention was to run away…Vegeta shifted his fur further up his shoulders. The sun may be out, but that didn’t mean it wasn’t cold.
Moments later he rounded a snow mound to see the one he sought laying in the snow. “You’ll get hypothermia if you don’t keep moving,” Vegeta spoke from the distance. The other barely roused at his words.
“You can go back…I won’t stay here long,” Kakarott said without opening his eyes. He wondered why his brother or father hadn’t stopped people from following him. At least they knew there were times he just felt the need for space.
Vegeta moved closer after he gauged there wasn’t going to be a fight following his interference. “We are going to need every abled body person in order to get this kill back,” Vegeta informed, “There will be quite the feast at the palace this mid winter.”
“I failed,” Kakarott answered, opening his eyes for a moment, only to be blinded by the sun before closing them.
“Failed?” Vegeta asked. He took a seat in the snow.
“I used ki blasts….” Kakarott began.
“If that is what you are concerned about, it wasn’t you who used ki blasts,” Vegeta told Kakarott.
“It wasn’t?” Kakarott turned his head to the side in order to look at the sitting form; only then realizing it was the prince, “I…I really don’t remember much after a point.”
Vegeta shook his head, “It was Peragus. And if you are really concerned about it, we’ll leave the ones kill by ki here.”
Kakarott shook his head as he sat up, “That’s an awful lot of food to leave.”
“The question is who would eat it if they found out the kills were tainted with ki,” Vegeta pointed out.
Kakarott look at him, “There are many families who would look at it as a blessing, rather than an un-honorable thing.”
Vegeta’s face grew serious, and he nodded his agreement. Having cut ties with the Cold Impire had also meant less trade with anyone in alliance with them, “I’ll leave that decision up to my father, I guess. You ready to go back yet?”
Kakarott sighed and shook his head. “The hunt was…well, exciting,” he laughed remorsefully at himself.
Vegeta cocked his head sideways, finally paying attention to the scent of the other, “I see…your first hunt?”
Kakarott shook his head, “No, I’ve been on others, but ki or weapons were allowed. The animals were much smaller. This was…intense.”
Vegeta grinned, reaching a hand towards the others cheek, “Yes, it was.”
Kakarott froze at the touch, and slowly glanced towards the other, “I-I shouldn’t have been so forth coming.”
Vegeta leaned in closer, “Why not? Would it make it any easier if I were the one being forth coming?”
Kakarott’s eyes widened in shock, “I’m a third class…sire.”
Vegeta raised an eyebrow and chuckled while moving closer, “Not after today,” he mentioned before he touched his lips to the younger’s. He felt them tremble before the other let himself respond. The timidness was delicious. It had been a while since he had been with anyone…and never without knowing the other had ulterior motives.
The prince rested his palm against Kakarott’s jaw, the other tracing over an already impressive erection. He leaned him back on his cloak into the snow and nuzzled his face between the hood of the other’s cloak and his ear, biting gently as he settled his torso over the other, legs spread over Kakarott’s hips.
Kakarott threaded his arms out of his sleeves, and then encircled the other’s torso with them. He pressed his hand onto the back of the prince’s head as the other sought his lips again. He opened his mouth to the questing tongue, enjoying the sureness the prince brought to this union.
Vegeta pressed down, rocking his hips slightly as he shifted his arms out of the sleeves of his cloak. He kissed the other fleetingly before turning to tie sleeves of their cloaks together. He snuggled back down, drawing the hood of his cloak over both of their heads.
Kakarott smiled, and pressed a hand onto the small of Vegeta’s back, “Cozy,” he purred.
Vegeta chuckled, “Better than getting half naked out in that cold,” he shifted his legs between the others, and moved his weight to his knees. He drew his hands over the young man’s wide chest to his narrower hips. He smirked into the covering darkness as he heard the other gasp as he worked on unlatching the clasps of the young man’s pants. He warmed his hand with ki before reaching in to feel the smooth, heated skin the material had poorly hidden.
Kakarott rocked himself into the other’s hand, biting his lip in distress at the wonderful sensation. He reached into his pocket, pulling out the salve he had been keeping there before lifting his hips in order to get the damned article of clothing out of the way.
Vegeta shifted as best he could to get out of the way of the other. He replaced his stroking hand with his tail temporarily in order to drag the leggings first under him, and then behind him, kicking them down to the other’s ankles with his feet.
He leaned down, and took the other into his mouth, freeing both hands and tail in order to work his own pants off. He chuckled; apparently a prince sucking his cock was not what the third class had thought would happen.
Kakarott yelped as he felt the prince’s mouth surround him unexpectedly. He groaned and rolled his hips slightly. There was enough light filtering in to see the top of the other’s head. He closed his eyes as his excitement mounted. It wasn’t often he’d had a partner after a kill…and certainly not a slightly older, much-more-experienced prince.
Kakarott hissed as he restrained himself from fucking the mouth surrounding him. He reached for the wind salve and coated one hand as best he could in the cramped quarters.
Vegeta released the other as he felt a gentle tugging on his hair. There was a moment of awkwardness as he leaned forward to kiss the other, but Kakarott’s body twisted his mouth out of reach. He hissed in shock as a hand closed around his erection; a surprisingly slick hand. He groaned as he pumped his full length against that warm palm.
Kakarott shifted his legs wider as he felt the prince roll his hips down. He pressed his heels into the soft snow beneath his cloak and tilted his hips up invitingly, while twisting his tail out of the way.
Vegeta pressed against the other’s entrance. He groaned as Kakarott hissed, restraining himself from just taking the other.
Kakarott’s head rolled to the side as he closed his eyes and mewled as he was invaded. They both stilled a Vegeta completed pressing into him. Kakarott pressed his slick hand below the other’s tail. He turned his head back and leaned up to capture the prince’s lips with his as he rotated his hips under the other.
Vegeta unwound his tail from his waist and twined it around the other’s thigh before he started moving again. The prince wasn’t about to let the young man show him up; first impressions and all.
Kakarott strained to match movements as Vegeta drove in and out of him. At this rate, it was going to be dirty and quick, but the space and the elements weren’t an inviting atmosphere for anything else.
Vegeta arched his back away from the other as he felt Kakarott seek himself from between the two of them. He growled in excitement as he felt the others knuckles rub up against his stomach, knowing the other was masturbating below him. He wished the lighting were better so he could watch the young man stroke himself.
The prince felt a hot handgrip into his shoulder, and shuddered as Kakarott called out beneath the furs. He grunted as he was held hostage while the young man bucked beneath him and released in his bondage soon after.
He held his weight from the other as best he could until he felt a foreign tail twine with his own, pulling him closer. He settled himself comfortably atop the other, hearing a very faint purr when his ear was pressed to Kakarott’s chest.
Kakarott relaxed into the heated atmosphere between the furs. No expectations, no worries. “Next time, we’ll have more room.” He heard Vegeta mumble.
“Next time?” Kakarott asked, his shock at the statement opening his mouth before he thought better of it.
Vegeta shifted his face towards the other, frowning slightly. Did the other not want a next time? “I was hoping there would be plenty of next times.”
Kakarott ran his fingers lazily over the prince’s spine. Not that he had any real objections to ‘next times’, “Can there be less snow also?” But he had no fantasies this wasn’t more than just talk after sex.
Vegeta chuckled, “Oh, yes, much less snow.”
Kakarott nodded, “We should get back.”
“Yeah,” Vegeta agreed, not really caring, but knowing the other was correct.

Kakarott held ice against the tip of his ear. He hadn’t heard from the prince…just as he figured he wouldn’t.
He wouldn’t soon forget though, and he was making certain. He dropped the ice into the sink, and held a thick-gauged needle above the candle’s flame. When he felt the fire had purified it sufficiently, he brought the needle up and pierced it through his ear.
He pulled it out, and replaced it with the tiny ring he had carved from one of the yacho’s tusks. He molded the needle with pressure into a tiny ball of metal before using it to close the open-ended loop.
He unclasped his hair from where he had pinned it back, and it fell into place, effectively hiding the piercing from casual view.
If asked, he would tell them it was to remember the hunt.
