Everyone just seemed to move on. They all had their own lives and ideas of what they wanted to do after the war was over. All of them except Trowa, being a clown and working in the circus was fun…but it wasn’t something he wanted to do forever. Which had led him to do exactly what he was doing now…sitting in the middle of a lecture on the properties that differed between acrylic paint and oil paints.
Trying desperately not to roll his eyes, Trowa let his instincts kick in. A small class, but big enough that if one was a threat Trowa might not be able to get to them in time. A slight smile crept on his lips, he hadn’t needed to use his instincts since the end of the war, but it was still good to keep them sharp. Speaking of which, he must be losing his touch, apparently the teacher had said something interesting as the entire class started gossiping.
He was never one for gossip, but seeing as how it could possibly affect his grades he overheard the girls behind him. Trowa’s smile got a little bigger hearing their excitement. The class was going to start with live models next week, something Trowa had found after the war that he had no talent for. Drawing from a picture was one thing, but he was happy to try out a new skill, or should he say, get better at a new skill.
From what the girls were saying, they would be meeting the model tomorrow during class and get an idea what he would be like to draw. The ‘he’ caught his attention, Trowa hoped that they didn’t just head over to the computer lab and grab someone, which in his opinion would be downright mean. Trowa just hoped that he was good enough looking to hold Trowa’s interest long enough to draw him correctly.
Turning back to the lecture at hand, the smile he had faded. Regardless of being in college, everyone still acted so juvenile. He knew that there was no hope of getting the group to be quiet and to return to the lecture but thankfully so did his teacher. The professor simply sat there and allowed the time to slowly run out.
Pulling out a sketch pad, Trowa did a very rough sketch of his professor. No harm in practicing before the model got there and embarrassing himself. Mr. Davis was well defined, nice angles on the face, the smile was incredibly attractive, and the eyes made Trowa think he could see every little dirty secret you had hidden.
Being the last to leave the class, as usual, Trowa placed the paper he had been working on in front of his teacher. During the first week Mr. Justin Davis had found out what everyone’s strengths and weaknesses in art were. To say he was impressed with Trowa’s progress was an understatement, he had never witnessed someone work so diligently to improve their skills in anything, and at the rate that Trowa kept improving, he could easily be wasting his time with these classes when he could already make a living for himself with his art.
“Very nice, I see you’re implementing the things we’ve been talking about in class. I have a suggestion, and you can take it as whatever you choose and you don’t need to give me an answer now. There’s a big company that would like to have art throughout their building, weather on canvas, paper, or on the walls there, I’m not sure, but I would like to show them your work. I think it’s something that the owner would appreciate.” Trowa nodded before agreeing.
“You can show them.” Giving a dashing smile up to his student, Mr. Davis nodded as well.
“Actually the man in charge of choosing the artwork is also going to be the model that is paying our class regular visits, why don’t you bring in some work tomorrow and we’ll see how he takes to it.” Nodding and taking his picture back, Trowa left the room. What kinds of things would this man be interested in? Oh well, Trowa had been looking for an excuse to finally need to put together a portfolio of his work.
