The Darkness Within Him
A/N: This story is an Alternate Universe fic that takes place during the beginning episodes of the Namekian saga. So Zarbon, and all other characters after his death are still alive and Goku has yet to arrive. Also, yes, there will be lemon in future chapters, and this is a (v/b story). For right now there are no warnings for this chapter, only that there are graphic depictions of murder.
Chapter One
Bulma sucked a huge amount of air into her lungs as she came to a stop in a cave after running for what seemed to be hours. Two of Frieza’s soldiers had spotted her rummaging through a recently destroyed Namekian village looking for some food to eat. It had been at least 6 weeks since they had landed there and the group had run out of resources. She had wanted to feel useful and she decided that since the guys had gone off looking for dragon balls, the least she could do was try and get some food for them.
She opened a capsule and waited for it to pop into a small plane that was big enough for her to load an ample amount of supplies into. She had made sure the engines were working fine and she had enough gas to go a far enough distance if she didn’t find anything near her. Once everything was in order, she hopped into the plane and took off on her mission for the day.
It took her about 3 hours to find a village that didn’t have mutilated namekian bodies and the smell of death polluting the crisp air. She searched frantically, hoping that she wouldn’t have to heave out the contents of her stomach onto the ground again, or cry at the sight of small corpses that were missing limbs. She almost gave up on her search but decided she would try once more to find food for her friends.
Finally, she found a village that seemed to be simply abandoned by the inhabitants. She went through the small huts and found some pouches containing small berries and also silver bowls containing cooked fish. She went and got a cart from her plane and began loading some of the supplies onto it. As soon as she began loading the cart, two of Frieza’s soldiers landed directly in front of her.
“Where do you think you’re going?” Asked one of them who had green scaly skin and a laser gun pointed at her. He was clad in black and gold armor and boots with his legs exposed. The other one had on white and gold armor, a cape was draped over his shoulders and a long sword was on the side of his waist. He looked quite human, accept for the piercing pale pupils, silver skin, long silver hair that hung loosely down his back and the fact that he never blinked.
“Um, I uh, um…” She stammered, trying to find the words to say but not finding them. Her voice seemed to be running away from her throat in fear, and her mind went completely blank from panic.
The one who never blinked spoke in a foreign language, and the green one lowered his gun. He then asked her where was she from, and what was she doing there, and still Bulma could not find it in herself to respond back to him…her…it….or whatever the creature was.
The green one slammed his fist into the cart that held her food, and she screamed from the impact of the blow and out of shock. The one who never blinked moved toward her and from that she turned and bolted. She ran like her life depended on it, remembering Krillin’s words to never let herself be captured by any of Frieza’s soldiers. She also remembered him saying for her to never wander away from the security of the cave that they had set up their camp in.
She cursed him then because she wasn’t some child to be ordered around, but now she realized why the small monk had warned her. She heard the footsteps of the soldiers, and the commands for her to stop, but she kept running. Her legs felt shaky and her body ached from the lack of breath but still she did not give into wanting to rest until couldn’t hear the movement of the soldiers anymore.
Finally she found a cave, and there was where she rested.
She lay back against the cool rock of the cave, and thought of the easiest route back to her plane. There was no other way off this island, she would not go into the water and swim because the previous night she just shampooed, conditioned, and blew out her hair and also she didn’t know the temperature of the sea.
She also didn’t wish to find out what lurked within those seas.
Suddenly the wind picked up outside and a cold draft came in through the cave, she realized then night must be approaching. She began panicking once again because she didn’t have anything to keep her warm if she had to spend a night in the cave, and she also was both hungry and thirsty.
Again, she thought of what was the easiest route back to her plane, and found nothing.
First of all, she had no idea where she was. She had blindly run away from those soldiers not marking anything in order for her to easily find her way back. The second thing was, she had no way to know if the soldiers had taken her supplies and her plane, and she knew that there was only one way for her to find out.
She’d have to venture out on her own.
The coward in her wanted her to just curl up against the wall of rock and just wait for a handsome prince to come and carry her away to safe grounds, but she knew that was a fantasy. Although there was a prince on the planet, she knew for sure that he probably never saved anyone in his entire detestable murderous life, just the thought of him made chills run up her spine.
The Saiyan Prince…Vegeta.
He had come to her planet and almost killed all of them, and if it wasn’t for Goku, she was sure he would’ve succeeded. He also had a hand in killing her fallen lover, Yamcha, Chiaotzu had given his life in an attempt to take that big brainless brute to hell, and Tien also had died that horrifying day that the Prince had landed in her world. She also knew it was he who was responsible for some of the massacres taking place on this planet that was fueled by his selfish pursuit of the Dragon balls.
No, he was not the Prince who would save her from her doom tonight, or any night for that matter.
She shook her head free of evil princes and pointless slaughters and focused on getting out of there. Besides she had been through worst things before with Goku when they were kids, and she had managed a way to get home safely each time. So she would find a way to get through this, she was Bulma Briefs, the most powerful woman on earth (economically speaking) and she had the great mind of a genius, she would find a way to return back to her camp in one piece.
Or so she hoped.
Zarbon listened with intentness to his men’s voices as they told him that they had found food in a small village a few miles away from Frieza’s ship.
“A small creature, seemingly human, found several resources in an abandoned village, it seemed we scared it away, it ran when I tried to reach out to calm it, and did not stop. We confiscated the food, healing kits and also pouches of drinking water and I am sending Epash to the ship now with everything…” Ithor reported through the scouter.
“And what of the human, did you confiscate it?” Zarbon asked in an uninterested tone, not wanting to give away the contentment in his voice for succeeding in the mission given to him. Frieza had called him down to the throne room only a few hours before to make him aware that their food supply was running low.
“My lord we didn’t think it relevant to pursue her.” Ithor said respectfully.
“Her? It is a female?” Zarbon asked.
“Yes sir.”
Zarbon thought to himself had it been a male he might’ve tracked him down and held him captive until they got back home, then he would’ve turned him into a house slave. But a female, oh now that was interesting, and his curiosity travelled into his burning loins.
Gods, how long had it been since he had been with someone. He had been put on mission after mission, and sometimes it’d be months before he was able to land on a planet where they wouldn’t know of him and indulge in the dark pleasures of that world, relieving himself of the frustrations of life by burying himself into some unsuspecting creature. He loved how they would fight at first, and then surrender to the pleasure that he was known to give.
And of course when he was done, he would do away with the entire planet with the gentle flick of his fingers.
A sly smirk graced the handsome warrior’s features as he asked his soldier, “Are you sure she’s still there?”
Bulma slowly popped her head outside the cave and scanned the area for any malicious activity. She listened for any footsteps, and looked on the trees and caves for any beams from laser guns. When she was sure the coast was clear, she tiptoed over to a bush and kneeled down, hoping no one would spot her. She ran her hands over her stomach as it growled out from hunger, and cursed it for making noise. A few more moments passed before she got up and ran to the next tree, followed by a nearby hut.
A couple of minutes went by and she travelled hut to hut until her plane finally came into sight. Upon seeing it, she grew excited and let out a small yelp of joy, for which she immediately regretted, knowing it could possibly give unwanted attention toward her. She once again continued on her hut to hut travel and finally came to the one she had been in when those soldiers had came and bothered her, and in front of her was her hut, although her cart with the supplies was gone.
Without wanting to wait anymore, she dashed blindly into her plane and collided with a suit of armor and powerful arms coming around her.
Immediately she panicked, balled her hands into fists, and lashed out at her captor. She screamed out for help and begged him to release her, for him not to rape her and telling him she was too young and beautiful to be killed. Her captor rolled his eyes and put his hand over her mouth to silence her.
Ithor was surprised at how much strength the human female possessed, he thought that with his strength alone he would be able to take hold of her and bring her back to the ship for his master, but now he thought, he may need reinforcements. She dug her nails into his fragile skin and he moaned from the electricity that ripped through him, his skin immediately healed and she gasped from seeing his reaction and squirmed even more.
Finally in a language recognizable to her ears he whispered, “Little one, I do not wish to hurt you, so settle down.”
She stopped struggling a bit and he loosened his grip on her mouth, and then removed it all together and placed it on her arm, still holding her tight against him. She stared up into his eyes, mixed emotions playing like a movie in her blue pupils as she struggled to believe that he would not hurt her.
“Tell me, what were you doing here?” He asked, even though he knew he was ordered to not speak to her but to simply just bring her to his master, “Do you not know of whose grounds this now belongs to?”
She shook her head to the latter and said in response to his first, “I ran out of supplies for my camp, and was searching for some so we wouldn’t die of hunger.”
Ithor searched her emotions to see if she were lying, and to see if she posed as any threat to him or to the empire that he had served for as long as he could remember, but he found nothing but panic inside her, and that panic was cause by fear.
She is too frightened to be of any threat to the empire, he thought to himself, however, he was curious as to who was in this camp she referred to, as far as he knew, the only people on this planet were the Namekians and the army of Frieza, and also the rebellious prince whom they had all been ordered to find and bring back.
What was Frieza’s fascination with Prince Vegeta, he didn’t know, and wasn’t sure he wanted to.
Even his master, Lord Zarbon, had some form of interest in the young prince from the moment he had been brought on the ship until now, and Ithor still couldn’t figure out why.
He let those thoughts go as he looked down at the timorous little female in his arms and remembered the order he had been given. He still had his questions about her but as long as she posed no threat, then her full interrogation would be done by Lord Zarbon.
Bulma didn’t know whether or not the creature that held her in his arms would keep to his word and not hurt her, but she felt that he would and against her better judgment, she stopped fighting against him and answered the questions that he asked her. Her body still shivered in fear, but he didn’t terrify her as much as the green guy with the scaly skin and laser gun had. His voice didn’t sound so villainous, but was very calm, and strong.
She also though he was kind of hot…for an alien guy that didn’t blink.
He looked down at her and said, “We will take flight now, hold on to me or you will drop.”
Take flight, wait he couldn’t mean what she thought he meant, did he, she thought to herself.
All of sudden, he gripped her waist, and shot up into the air. She screamed and dug her nails into his smooth skin and received his hiss from his lips, immediately she relaxed her fingers against him but did not let up on her tight grip. When he felt her relax, he surged forward toward the ship and seemed to move faster than the speed of light. Bulma felt tears well up in her eyes from the air, and decided it best to close them.
Ithor extended a finger and pressed his scouter to tap into his master’s line, immediately the connection was accepted and he told him that he was bringing the female as they spoke.
“Fantastic Ithor, you never fail me.” Zarbon could not hold back his enthusiasm and continued, “Is she wounded or still in stable condition?”
“I did not have to hurt her lord, she is in fine condition.” Ithor said, pleased with his lord’s reaction.
“Excellent, you know what to do when you land Ithor, make sure she is cleaned before she is brought to me, we do not know where she comes from, or where she has been, so make sure she is bathed and in decent clothing before she is brought to my quarters.”
“As you wish my lord.” Ithor responded, and disconnected the conversation.
Within five minutes, Ithor saw the lights signaling that he was in the region of ship, his thoughts was for some reason, filled with concern of for the little female that clung to his frame, he wondered what it was that his lord had planned for her, and heard a little voice in his conscious telling him to release her and let her return back to her own camp. However he wasn’t a fool, and knew that action would come at a high price.
That price was no doubt, his death.
And so Ithor continued to the ship and finally came to stop in front of the entrance, and the small blue haired female slid down his body and settled down on the ground with a small thud.
Bulma peered up at the grand space ship with wide eyes, she had never seen anything so elegant yet immaculate outside of the Capsule Corporation Headquarters, and the astonishment was written all over her face. Ithor took notice of this of course, and cleared his throat in an effort to gain back her attention. She turned around to look at him, a thousand questions dancing in her eyes, and a million emotions playing on her face.
He could not understand why she seemed happy to be here, did she not know whose ship this was? Were humans so oblivious to know what when on in the very universe that their planet floated in.
“Can you tell me your name?” She asked peering up at him in a childlike manner.
He shook his head no, and said, “I am not allowed to do so.”
“What do you mean you are not allowed to do so?” She reiterated his words, not understanding them.
Ithor knew he needed to get her on to the ship, bathed and sent to his lord’s headquarters as soon as possible, but he felt the need to fill her in on much needed to know details.
“I am a soldier, of noble rank in the army of the ice-jin empire. King Cold is the overseer of that empire but because of it being so large, it is controlled by his two sons, Cooler and Lord Frieza. This is Lord Frieza’s ship, and under the authority of my Lord Zarbon, who is a superior noble ranking officer in Frieza’s embassy, you have been personally invited on this ship.” He said graciously.
Bulma’s eyes widened, as she then realized the mess she had gotten herself into.
