Dragonball: Unforgotten
Chapter One hundred and two
It took a while to get enough made to feed a squad of saiyans. There was a lot of rice to say the least and probably close to fifty pounds of meat if not more. Once each thing was done it was moved to the main chamber where the gravity machine was. That was the only place big enough to fit all four boys, yourself, and all that food.
The moment that it was done, when Trunks and Gohan had sat down to eat, you sat right on Gohan’s lap without any explanation. Even though you were sitting with your shoulder to his chest, Gohan sputtered and turned red. His eyes shifted shyly and nervously to Trunks who watched the interaction with a mixture of curiosity and trepidation. He half expected Gohan to throw you off his lap so he could start eating and yet all the half saiyan did was flush with embarrassment.
Gohan stammered out your name as he looked between you and Trunks, peaking at the food for a second as well. Before you had time to put words to your actions, Goku appeared right behind you. Which happened to be right beside Gohan. It was in the moment that Goku leaned down with his hands starting to reach out, that Gohan finally understood why you’d done what you had. You were trying to make sure that Goku didn’t grab you the moment he woke up; you’d sensed him and Broly waking up before either Trunks or Gohan had. If he hadn’t been too preoccupied with wrapping his arms around you and glaring at his father, Gohan might have been impressed.
“Gohan,” Goku said in a commanding, no nonsense tone.
“Dad,” Gohan returned as he shifted in his seat to get more comfortable for the long haul.
You tried to ignore what was happening between the two. Or at least make it seem like you were ignoring them. In reality you could feel the structures inside your ears tuning in to every move that Goku and Gohan made, every breath and every sound. They were all potential clues for the big blow out. Speaking of big blow outs...Broly was reentering the ship from what you could sense. He and Goku had woken up at the same time - it was just that Goku knew how to sense energy and use instant transmission whereas Broly did not.
“I’m hungry. Can’t we just eat like the dysfunctional family that we are?” You tossed out when your grumbling stomach pulled your attention away from Broly’s approach.
“So the baby is okay?” Goku asked as his eyes moved from his son’s gaze down to look at you.
“Yeah, those warning pains went away a little after you and Broly stopped using me like a rope.”
“I want to make sure,” Goku said as he held out his hand.
You whined in the back of your throat, “But I’m hungry.”
“You promised,” Goku reminded you.
“Wait, promised what?” Gohan asked as he looked at his father’s extended hand and then at you.
You shifted in your seat (which was his lap) to make it easier to look Gohan in the eye. Or close to it at least. At about the same time, Broly entered the chamber and he did not look happy. Nor did he feel very happy as far as energy levels went. His felt erratic. What might have been small fluctuations for him registered as huge spikes and falls for you.
“I told him that he could still touch my stomach whenever he wanted so he could feel the baby growing too,” you told Gohan in a bit of a rush before looking back to Goku. “But can’t we wait till after I eat? I’m so hungry. I threw up the last meal I ate and I’m starving now.”
You had a feeling he wasn’t going to be like a thirty second touch to assure himself that the little thing was still in there after all. The feeling that he was using it as an excuse to get you out of Gohan’s arms and into his own was too prominent to ignore. The compounding problem was that Broly was getting closer too. The only upside as far as you could see was that at least Trunks wasn’t stuffing his face with your favorite things yet. He’d slipped in a few bites but seemed intent on watching the tinderbox of your current situation with rapt attention.
“Why were you throwing up? Are you sick?” Goku asked with wide eyed concern.
But you watched as that innocent concern darkened the moment that Gohan’s hand idly rested on the far side of your torso. His fingers drummed on your skin. With the way he was holding onto you across your torso, your shirt had risen up a little bit to expose some skin and a bit of a scar. You realized that Gohan’s idle movements weren’t actually all that idle either. He had started to trace one of your scars. The motion felt both soothing and very intimate. Although when you considered the timing and the way his attention was actually on Goku it felt less intimate and more calculated. Especially since Gohan had been a blushing and stuttering when you’d sat down on his lap in front of Trunks. It wasn’t even like you had straddled him either; you’d just sat across his lap to reduced the very real possibility that Goku had planned a grab and go. Even that had been embarrassing for him. Yet when he wanted to have sex in the shared kitchen that was perfectly okay.
“Don’t know. I could be getting sick. Or it could be from stress. Or it could be a normal thing of being pregnant. There’s really no way for me to know. All I know right now is that I’m hungry and you’re making me wait to eat,” you told Goku directly.
He blinked a few times and then at least had the decency to look guilty. Instead of fighting about your position at the meal, he sat down across from Gohan. They way he could at least keep his eyes on you to make sure that you wouldn’t vanish on him again. The exact moment he was settled you scooted off of Gohan’s lap. You kept close to him of course to make sure he didn’t feel abandoned but you needed your own space to eat.
Unfortunately more of your space had been taken right after you got comfortable. While Goku had gotten up to get closer to you, it was Broly that claimed the other spot beside you. Once again you tried to ignore the fact that you were between two sculpted walls of muscle. This time it was easier because you had food in front of you. A lot of food that you wanted to put in your belly.
Which you did. As did every person around you. It was probably the closest thing to peaceful that you had gotten all day. And that was with three of the boys quibbling over who got to eat what when the meat plates got to the last few pieces. Broly didn’t join in that quibbling, he just simply took what he wanted off of the plates without talking. But only so long as you were eating. It was a weird feeling - it was like he was stalking your food consumption. Almost like the episode before he licked your arm when he had waited to eat until you passed him something. So you did about the only thing that you could actually do at this point - ignore him.
Once everything was all done you got up and took a lot of the empty dishes back to the kitchen. Gohan and Goku followed right behind you. Even with his share of dishes precarious balanced, Gohan managed to get into the kitchen with you first. The dishes clambered frightfully loudly when you and Gohan put them down on the counter. As you reflectively covered your ears from the detestable noise, Gohan wrapped his arms around you and rested his head on yours. Much to the displeasure of Goku of course.
“You should get some rest,” Gohan mumbled into your hair as he tried to ignore his father’s existence.
Considering that you could feel the holes he was glaring into his son.’a back, you had no idea how Gohan was able to ignore him. You ran your fingers over a Gohan’s before resting your hands on the cool counters. After the meal you should have had plenty of energy but you didn’t. It was still pretty low; and your spine did kind of ache. Going to bed at that point posed a few new challenges though. Which you weren’t sure you were ready to face.
“I’ll take care of the dishes,” Gohan promised. Seriously he was too perfect - even after all the crap you put him through in the last twelve hours he wanted to do something nice. “Talk with dad if you want...I trust you...but if you need help getting him to listen just let me know.”
Goku clenched his fists and his jaw as he listened to what his son had to tell you. Everything about this moment (almost everything, you were there after all) repulsed him. Gohan was holding you tenderly, ignoring his own father to do so. He had his cheek and chin touching your head as he whispered to you. He talked about being there to help you stop him if he didn’t listen. Like Gohan could even do anything to stop him. Goku’s tail angrily whipped around behind him, hairs standing on end as he thought about his son trying to interfere with anything you and he did together. Or that you wouldn’t like anything he did.
Goku simmered at that thought. Anything he did from this point on he planned to do right. He might not have as much schooling as Gohan but he knew what you liked and didn’t like. By your own admission you weren’t much older than when you and he were on the lookout. There hadn’t been a lot of time for things to change.
Gohan stepped back away from you. When you turned around to look at Goku he looked like he was straight up about to murder Gohan. Your gut twisted as you saw that. You had done that to him. It was your fault that he and Gohan couldn’t get along. You might have not wanted to be a homewrecker but despite your attempts it was starting to seem like you were. Only in a different way than most considered.
You tried to push down the pain. Instead you focused on moving forward. Gohan stood perfectly still and straight as you passed him. Somehow that made it harder. Knowing that he was fighting himself as he tried to help you made moving away from him harder. You knew that with every step the inside of his ears readjusted even if he didn’t mean to. Your heart picked up speed even as you stopped a couple feet away from Goku.
“Okay Goku, lets go talk,” you said nervously.
Your last couple of talks hadn’t exactly gone to plan. And those had been while he was dead. You doubted that any conversation with him from here on out would be as easy as they used to be.
“Hmm, sure,” he accepted. “But we’ve already talked an awful lot while I was dead.”
Not exactly; not as far as you were concerned. Most of the time you’d spent talking to him in the afterlife had been spent on making sure he didn’t hurt Gohan again. The severity that he’d beaten Gohan and Vegeta just for being in his way when you’d been in heat had been frightening. You’d focused on that fear pretty much every time that you’d talked to him. You barely covered other important topics like the day to day expectations of the situation.
Goku’s slow grin made you wary. With lightning speed he reached out. You recoiled but you weren’t fast enough to stop him from pulling you in. Within moments he had swept you off your feet, literally, and started down the hall. Instinctively you pushed at him, trying to push your war out of his arms as you thought he was taking you to the bedrooms. You stopped protesting the moment you realized he was headed away from them.
Goku passed by a stoic appearing Broly and a purplexed Trunks. Thankfully you’d stopped fighting him at that point or Broly probably wouldn’t have been so stoic. Even with his visual lack of interest Broly followed behind you and Goku at his own pace.
The orange clad warrior carried you outside before taking off in the air. You looked at his face for a moment. It was serious but not malicious. No hint that he’d probably been planning to murder Gohan in the kitchen.
“I can fly now you know,” you told him.
He’d seen you do that much when he came back for the day. Even if he couldn’t remember you at the time you doubted that meant he wouldn’t remember what you did that day now that he did remember you.
“I know. I just like holding you,” Goku said as he grinned; the smile full off teeth.
After he said that, Goku buried his face into your stomach as he curled his arms closer to his body. Awkwardly you reached your arm up around his shoulder to pet at his head. Considering that you couldn’t comfortably keep watch from the angle he put you into it seemed the best thing to do. You ran your fingers through the sectioned areas, gently scratching his scalp. Goku’s eyes fluttered closed before reopening more than once as you worked through the back of his head with one hand. Your actions helped to distract him from the fact that Trunks and Broly were following. For seconds at a time he could pretend that everything was simple again - just you and him - before he sensed reality once more.
“Where are we going?”
“Hmmm, I’ll know it when we see it,” Goku said, every word brushing your exposed stomach before reaching your ears.
“You’re not even looking where you’re going,” you reminded him. “And I don’t think you have New Namek memorized like you do Earth.”
“Well we’ll just have to keep flying forever then,” Goku teased with a grin.
“You’re going to get tired eventually,” you told him lightly.
“Oh don’t worry about that. I can go for a long time. A lot longer than you remember.”
You blinked as you tried to brush off the innuendo that wanted to color your cheeks. There was no way that Goku had meant it that way. He’d only been talking about flying. Though the way that he shifted his arms and his grip and how he’d purposely mixed up the sentiments of the expletive “fucking” in the dreamscape...there was the chance he knew he’d made an innuendo and meant it too.
After a while of flying and nuzzling your stomach, Goku finally lifted his head. When you moved your arm so it wasn’t resting around his shoulder he pouted but continued looking. It was actually kind of amazing that neither Trunks nor Broly had pulled up beside him to ask where he was going. You’d already asked and got a less than clear picture.
Eventually though Goku started descending. You looked around to see what triggered it but as far as you could tell the area was just like all the others. Green water, green grass, and a couple of trees. The only thing different, if it could be called that, was that the trees were grouped together alongside an inlet. The inlet was completely shaded because of that. It looked perfect for swimming actually. When you and he (as well as the other boys) landed, he carried you over to the cove.
“So what are we doing here?” Trunks asked in a slightly moody voice.
You had to agree with him. You had no idea why Goku had decided to fly for so long away from the ship just to find this particular island. Goku answered in a very unconventional way.
“What hot even in water?”
The question completely took Trunks back. And Broly looked at Goku as though he’d grown another head. You on the other hand looked at Goku with wide eyes.
“No...nooo…”
Goku grinned and tossed you into the water. It happened so quickly from such a short drop that you didn’t have time to kick on the hover mode before your back was already wet.
