Kakkarot's Promise, a Kings Mistake
Kakkarot spent two days locked in his room, he refused to see anyone and no one could get him to come out. Even Paragus couldn’t talk his way into the room and received several nasty burns when he blasted his way in. Kakkarot had given him a mild Kamehameha wave to get him back out of his room.
“Kakkarot sweetie let me in,” Turles said knocking on his door.
“No, I want to be alone,” Kakkarot growled.
“Look if this is about your mate then I have good news. We are only one day away from the Planet that holds your mate captive. While you have been in here moping around we have been training in case of danger.”
Turles smiled as his cub opened the door and looked upon him for the first time in days. His smile slipped at the site that he was presented with. Kakkarot’s eyes were read and puffy from what looked like crying, his skin was pale and clammy, and his mane was not groomed and properly cleaned. He tsked and pushed his way into the room and closed the door behind him.
“Go sit over there. It’s time to clean you up so that your mate doesn’t see you in this haggard state.”
He sat down on the bed and carefully watched his mother climb up behind him. He started fussing over his hair and picking out any lint that may have gathered in the silky strands from sleeping in his bed. He couldn’t stop the purr that floated up from his throat as his mother worked his magic. A bit of self injustice swept through him as he thought about all the times that he asked his ex-wife to brush his hair and she screamed at him. Well he couldn’t call her his ex because they never really said that it was over.
“What’s the matter cub?” Turles asked running his fingers over the spikes much like his own and Bardock’s.
“Nothing really.”
“Don’t lie to me, I am your mother so to speak.”
“Fine, I miss, Vegeta, but most of all I want to know if he is okay. I love our cub but if it came to him or the baby I would go with him. He is my mate after all.”
“Like I said before, Vegeta can take care of himself. When I learned that I was pregnant with you I didn’t want you at first. Bardock refused to let me kill you off so I just dealt with the morning sickness and the mood swings. Then I realized that the longer you stayed in me the stronger I became not only physically but mentally and emotionally as well. Do not get me wrong but I still didn’t love you the way most parents are supposed to love their cubs.”
“So before you ever met me on Earth you had no love for me?” Kakkarot asked as he leaned back against his mothers hands.
“In some ways yes and in others no. I knew the moment that you scent hit my nose who you were but you had forgotten me. It hurt and made me angry when you didn’t even look up at me with knowledge and when you asked me my name I snapped.”
“It wasn’t my fault, I fell from a mountain cliff and whacked my head damaging my brain. I didn’t know who I was or even where I was. I was raised as a human from the moment that I was an infant and I guess my Saiyan instinct didn’t kick in until Raditz appeared and tried to take me away.”
“Raditz? Ah yes, Toma’s cub. Hmm. . .so he is the one that partly awakened you.”
“Yes, though, ‘Goku’, was still strong in me and he learned how to control me.”
“I see, here don’t freak out but I am going to groom you. It means that I might start licking you as well.”
“Nothing freaks me out anymore mother. I learned that, Vegeta, gets pregnant, my mother is a male, my father has sex with me and now you want to lick me. Nothing is going to faze me, also my greatest enemy is back to life after being repeatedly killed.”
“I see what you mean, now just relax and enjoy being groomed correctly for the first time in your life.”
Kakkarot didn’t want to be touched but with Turles being a lot quicker to anger than him he didn’t really want to argue either. He purred as he felt his mothers tongue slide across his cheek sweeping away the tear stains from just moments ago. He wished it was his mate doing this but since it wasn’t he would just have to settle for Turles.
His mind raced with thoughts of how it would have been if not for Frieza. Would Turles still have wanted to kill him had he had the chance to raise him as a proper Saiyan? The way Turles acted around him told him yes he would have still wanted him dead. It was not in the nature of Turles to show love to anybody, he even refused to become mated to his father. Something that he was sure would have been hard for any other Saiyan to do. Yet oddly he didn’t really blame his mother for not really wanting to keep him. He turned out alright living with the humans after all.
“You are thinking out loud cub. Your face betrays the thoughts that you are having. I can tell that you are thinking about me the way you keep glancing up at me,” Turles growled suddenly.
“I mean no harm by it I swear. I am just wondering what it would be like if our planet was never blown away.”
“Different I can promise you that. There would be much less fighting for survival than there is now. You would have to kill for Vegeta to be your mate. It is not proper for a third class to mate to a Prince. It would have been the other way around. I do not think that Vegeta would have chosen you over an Elite though.”
“Why is that?”
“Because you are the lowest of the low. There would be no way any Saiyan would want a mate like you.”
“Oh, so then I am better off with the planet gone?”
“That maybe cruel but yes. That was one of the many reasons that I left home to travel with a pack of pirates. At least then I could choose whomever I wanted if I wanted. There was no one that caught my eye at the time. And when I learned that our planet was destroyed all I felt was relief. Then at least I knew that I could truly be free.”
“What changed?”
“Bardock. He taught me that not all things are bad and that not all things were worth dying for.”
Kakkarot felt his eyes getting heavy with the sleep that he had deprived himself of. With out even thinking about it he laid back and to the side of Turles and hugged him close as he slowly fell asleep. His mother purred quietly waiting until he was sure that he was sleeping before untangling himself from his cubs arms.
“Sleep well cub,” Turles said leaving the room.
In no time everyone was standing on the loading dock ready to exit the ship the moment it landed on the planet. It looked like a beautiful planet, all purple and white and blue. Still the outside beauty had nothing on the actual planet. Everyone shivered as the doors opened and the land was revealed to them. It was all covered in snow, freezing and wet snow.
“Well here we are. Home sweet home,” Frieza said sweeping his arms out in a welcoming gesture.
Everyone walked through the waste deep snow to the blue-ish white Palace that stood high next to a snow covered mountain. Everyone was ready to get inside and thaw out, Saiyan’s hated the cold after all. Once they were ushered into the great hall everyone looked around.
“KAKKAROT!” someone screamed and then plowed into him.
“Ouch!” Kakkarot shouted as he landed heavily on the marble floor.
He rubbed his head and looked up at the tearful face of his mate and smiled. He pulled him down into a kiss and let his hands roam all over his pregnant body. Suddenly large hands reached down and jerked his mate away.
“Get your hands off of my mate!” Kakkarot said standing to his feet.
“It’s okay, Kakkarot. It’s just my father, he will not harm me,” Vegeta said quickly.
Kakkarot settled at once but he was still on edge, after all Vegeta’s fathers hands were on his mate.
“Sorry. I had no idea that he would react this way,” the King whispered to his son.
“He is really protective of me, a little overprotective if you ask me.”
“Why don’t you go up to your room and rest for a bit. I will make sure to take care of our guests here,” the King said sweeping his hand out to the bowing Saiyan’s.
The prince nodded and the gave his mate one last look before heading up to his room to sleep. He hoped that Kakkarot would keep his head on straight but then again he knew the Saiyan so well. This wasn’t that big oaf ‘Goku’ but then again it really didn’t matter when it came to him. Even Goku had his quirks about protecting what he thought was his.
“Come, Kakkarot, we have much that we must talk about,” King Vegeta said gripping the other Saiyan’s shoulder.
“Fine, but I am going to see, Vegeta, before the day is over.”
“That’s what I want to talk to you about, well one of the things anyways.”
Kakkarot swallowed the low warning growl that threatened to fly out of his throat at those words. He had a feeling that nothing good was going to come out of this conversation. Still he followed the King in to his chambers, which looked like they once belonged to Coolar.
“Take a seat,” the taller Saiyan said pointing to the bed.
Kakkarot had a bad feeling welling up in his gut but he decided to play along for the time being. He could always walk away if he didn’t like what the man was going to say to him. Once he settled comfortably on the edge of the soft bed he looked up at the King who stood against the far wall.
“Where to start? Well let’s start here, I know that you have a cub with my son. I, however, am not happy about that fact. I know that you love him and he loves you but in my opinion you should have been the one with the cub inside of you. After all you are the lowly third class and he is royalty.”
“Well that is not how it happened. I thought that you would be happy for a grandchild.’
“I am. In fact I am wanting another Grandchild, but not just any ordinary Grandchild, I need another heir to the throne. Since my son is ascending into Kingship, and your daughter can not rule the Planet.”
“What planet? You know there is no planet to rule for Saiyan’s.”
“This planet is going to be our new home, it maybe a little cold but don’t you think that it’s nice?”
“Yes, it is beautiful but we have another home and we wish to return there.”
“We’ll figure that out later, now I want you to know something. Do not lose your head when I tell you this. You are able to give birth just like my son, but there is a catch to that. You can only get pregnant by a very strong and dominating Saiyan.”
“Let me guess that it is you?” Kakkarot said rubbing out his red eyes.
“Yes, or you can breed with someone like Cold or one of his sons.”
“No thank you. I’d rather not breed with anyone.”
“You do not have that choice. Tell you what, if you don’t breed then you don’t get to see my son.”
Kakkarot growled low in his throat at that. There was no one in this Galaxy that was going to stop him from being with his mate. He would slaughter a bloody trail right to his door if he had to.
“Tell you what your ‘Highness’, if you so much as try me on this I will shred you to pieces. King or no king I will not allow you to stop me from seeing my mate. I will however make you this one promise, if I best you in a fight then you will not be allowed to breed with me, however, if you win then you can have me as much as you want.”
“So it has come down to brute strength hmm? Well then I take your challenge but I should warn you, you will not defeat me.”
Kakkarot smiled at that, he knew that the king had no chance of beating him in a fight. He was far too strong for him now that he had reached a much higher level. Still there was something that wasn’t quite right about the way the king looked at him. He had a feeling that there was something going on that he didn’t like.
The king smiled as he left the room to check up on his son. He knew very well that he had no chance of winning in a fair fight. However that was not how he had gotten so good at what he did. He would not fight fair, he really needed this child and Kakkarot was the only one strong enough to breed with. Sure there was the outcast but he would be dealt with later. After all it was the heir to the throne that he was concerned about right at the moment. He would worry about the other child bearer when he was ready to take on another mate.
Speaking of the outcast he ran into him on his way to see his son. Turles looked up at him and then quickly dropped his gaze to the side. He knew that this male would not bow to him like Kakkarot but this was for a different reason. He was a rebel and they thought that they were controlled by no one. Well this one would learn his place soon enough.
“Where is my cub?” Turles asked keeping his gaze averted.
“Down the hall in the room on the left. Tell me rebel, what is your name?”
“Turles,” was all he said and then continued on down the hall not bothering to look back.
“Turles, I like that name,” the king mused to himself before walking into his sons room and closing the door behind him.
Turles found his own son sitting on a large bed with his head in his hands. He sighed when he noticed that the boys tail was drooping in exhaustion once again. Everything really was weighing him down and slowly killing him bit by bit. He took a seat behind his cub and began to run his fingers through his main of wild hair. He knew he liked it when someone petted him so he could only imagine what his son liked.
“Why can’t the fates just leave me the fuck alone? I have done nothing but good deeds and this is how I am repaid for them? My mate get’s kidnapped, I get threatened by a dead king, and now I have to breed with that said king. All for what? To bring back a race that has no business coming back to life?” Kakkarot whimpered.
“You know what they say, no good deed goes unpunished. Doesn’t matter what the deed is.”
“Well that’s just stupid but it is true. I have died countless times for the sake of good. And each time I wondered if it was all worth it in the end. It was but still I was punished for it.”
“There are things in our lives that we can not control and this is one of them cub. Just look at what kind of deal I was handed. I am a rebel, I have a son that I barely know, I did not want that son, I have no mate, and I was killed by my own cub.”
“So you know what I am talking about. Haven’t you ever just wondered what the fuck those God’s and Goddess’s are trying to do to us? What kind of games they are playing?”
“No, because it is not in their hands either. They too are just pawns in some one’s master game. We just move about where the higher pawns push us. Now you need to sleep, you are falling over with tiredness.”
Kakkarot opened his mouth to protest but then decided against it. He knew that he should go to his own room but this bed was comfortable and he was already there. So he just settled under the blankets and wished his mother a good night before falling in to a deep sleep. He wished that Vegeta was beside him but knew that his father would not allow that to happen. So he slept in the warmth alone, like always these past few months.
The king came back to his room after several hours of talking with his son and Bardock. It was late in the night when he finally made it back and he began to strip down to his underwear. All he wanted was to lay back and relax, ignoring the troubles that he would have to face in the morning. This was the one time in his day that he could relax and not worry about anything that anyone would say. He climbed into his bed and covered his head up, he rolled over and came face to face with the one male that was causing him the most trouble.
“K-Kakkarot! What in the hell are you doing in my bed?” the king asked pulling back slightly.
“This bed is comfy,” he mumbled still half asleep.
“You’re bed is comfy as well. Why are you in mine?”
“I was sleepy!” Kakkarot growled slightly.
“Okay okay you grouch!” the king snapped back.
Kakkarot grumbled slightly as he threw his arm over his shoulders and cuddled the larger man. He felt a heated blush creep across his cheeks for no apparent reason. Still he chose to ignore it and just go back to sleep. He would be worried about it later, right now sleeping was the only thing on his agenda.
The next morning Kakkarot opened his eyes to the warmth of a large body beside him. He knew at once that it wasn’t his mate. Pulling backwards some what he met the closed eyes of Vegeta’s father. Keeping back the gasp of surprise he slowly squirmed out of the bed until he could almost feel the edge. He placed one leg over the edged and then turned to place the other on the floor. Making sure the covers were not wrapped around his waist as he tiptoed out of the room.
“Where are YOU going in such a hurry?” the king asked rolling over.
“I am going back to my own room to get ready for the morning.”
“How about you come back to bed with me? I can smell your heat coming up.”
“What?!” Kakkarot asked now reflecting on the uncomfortable feeling from last night.
“You heard me you are going into heat, you may not go into it fully right now but you soon will.”
“You bastard, you did this to me!” he said pointing at the king.
“I told you that I did but I am doing this for a good cause.”
“For your selfish agenda, that is what you did this for. You are just worried about your own plans and it doesn’t matter who gets hurt in the process. Did you stop to think that your son doesn’t want you to mess around with me?” Kakkarot asked pacing back and forth.
“Your mate already knows. I told my son everything the moment that he came here. He was leery at first but then he became used to the idea.”
“You think that just because I go into heat I will bend over and let you take me?”
“That is exactly what you will do, no matter you will see soon enough.”
Kakkarot sighed heavily but knew that no matter how much he fought this there was no escape. He would go into heat and he had seen it enough times from Vegeta to know that it was unpleasant unless he mated with someone, but not just anyone, it would have to be someone stronger than him. The next few days were going to be stressful, and for some reason he knew that he was going to be the cause of it.
(*sighs* things have been so horrible. I was hoping to get this chapter done by Monday but I had to work. Today is Thursday, four days past my set due date. But this is the only day off that I have had in nine days so I enjoyed it by finishing this chapter. Maybe by my next days off I can have another chapter done. Until then enjoy this one. Peace.)
A/N: i have decided to keep the chapters long. it makes it more fun.
