Alright Enigma, let’s see if I can explain it better. Remember that Duo has been awake this entire time, so he has very good control over his voice and he doesn’t act like a normal Vampire. *cough* new-breeds *cough* Which is what the Hunters are used to, so they never suspected him of being one. Heero and Trowa on the other hand, are just figuring out how to get their voices under their control again, so when they spoke to them, the Hunters knew what they were.

Duo sighed as he closed the door behind himself. He’d need to have this talk with ‘Fei later, but his little one would be good practice. Besides…it wasn’t fair to keep his little one in the dark about something like this.
“Hey…what’s wrong?” Quatre had been happy to see his boyfriend back in their room so soon, but his smile faded as he watched the braided boy frown.
“Not a th…” Duo paused, he couldn’t lie. After a century or two of being lied to…someone needed to be honest. “We should talk.” Quatre tilted his head to the side in question, but sat down before he spoke
“Talk about what?”
“About me.” Duo answered as he leaned back against the door. “And Heero and Trowa. The three of us.”
“Alright.” Quatre agreed hesitantly…why was Duo so worked up?
“We…we aren’t good.”
“You’re not ba-”
“Please. Just listen. I never told you how I was turned. I never told you because I wasn’t. The war I was telling you about, with the new-breeds and the older Vampires, they’re called Elders but there were Vampires even older there. There are older beings in Vampire lore. Beings that shouldn’t exist and I’m really fucking this up.”
“No…there was a war between the new-breed and Elders…what’s older than an Elder?” Duo couldn’t stop his smile, even though he was so stressed trying to stumble his way through this, his little blonde had no problem keeping his thoughts straight. As soon as the thought passed, another came. This was his potential mate. If Quatre didn’t understand this…there could be nothing more between them.
“An Original.”
“Original…like, one of the first Vampires?”
“No Q, *the* firsts. The ones that started all this. The Original Vampires. They had this idea that Humans, Hunters, Vampires…everyone should be able to get along and live together. The new-breeds were young, they only want one thing - blood. Never ending food. They want a blood-bath. The Originals tried to explain that if everyone co-existed that there would be those willing to feed us, which would be a never ending supply.” Duo paused as he shook his head. “So many died that day.”
“So…did an Original change you?”
“No…Heero, Trowa and I are the only remaining Originals. There are a few Elders left. They keep things in balance but there are more new-breeds everyday. They think by killing us they can have their blood-bath.”
“You’re an Original?” Nodding, Duo took a deep breath before he asked the question that would change their relationship forever.
“People will always be after us. Trying to kill us. Are you prepared to spend the rest of eternity with someone who will always be hunted?”
“Absolutely.” Duo smiled. Quatre hadn’t even hesitated to give him an answer.
“I have one more thing for you to consider before I take your answer. We don’t know why it happens, but when mortals are around us…their lives seem to go to shit.” Quatre gave a small sad smile.
“When my mom started having problems with me being gay, I knew something was wrong. She was always so supportive of it, then one day she just started yelling at me over everything. I knew it had to have something to do with you.” The Vampire took the few steps to cross the room and stopped before he touched the blonde.
“You don’t sound too beat up about this.”
“That’s because I’m not. You don’t seem to want to tell me that I’m going to have to leave my family, but I’m not stupid. I know I have to leave them if I want to spend eternity with you.”
“You would…give up your family for me? Without a second thought?”
“Duo, I love you. You’re all the family I need. Well, you and Wufei.” They lapsed into silence as they stared at each other. Quatre was about to ask why Duo had suddenly felt the urget to tell him about this now, but Duo broke out into a huge smile.
“Good…because I want you to move in.”
“What?”
