~~flashback~~
Kakarot whistled in awe when he stepped into the surprisingly well kept and enormous bedroom. Gold and red appeared to be the theme color for this place since the four poster bed was painted of gold and the carpet and walls were red while the rest of the furniture was of the shiny color. Kakarot didn’t know whether to find it hideous or fancy. Oh well, beggars can’t be choosers. “How do you like it?” Vegeta asked as He closed the door behind him.
Kakarot stepped more into the room to look around. “It’s…nice.” He smiled innocently.
Vegeta gave him a look. “Just nice?”
The boy immediately started stuttering. “W-Well, it’s not really ‘my’ thing, but I can’t imagine how much work you did just to keep it up like this. So, yes…nice.”
Vegeta sighed. “Alright, fine. I’ll accept that.”
Kakarot pouted. “Sorry. If it’s that much of an insult to You, I’ll just sleep somewhere else.”
Just when he was about to do just that, Vegeta grabbed his arm. “No, you don’t have to do that.” He sighed. “It’s just that…I don’t exactly bring company here.”
Kakarot gave him a suspicious look before it finally came together. “Oh…oh! Oh I’m sorry, Vegeta. I didn’t realize-“
“It’s alright. I didn’t keep it up for you anyway. It was more for myself. I just think it’ll be safer for you to stay here is all, but if you don’t like it…” Vegeta went to lie on the bed and sighed after He trailed off.
Kakarot held a hand up to his mouth as if he said something wrong then immediately put it down when He was done talking. “Oh, no it’s fine Vegeta. I’m sorry. It’s really a nice place. I mean, it’s huge and it’s got some history in it and You kept it the same. It’s really unique.” He smiled sincerely.
Vegeta quirked an eyebrow. “What if I didn’t keep it the same?”
Kakarot’s face fell immediately and he began to stutter. “Well…then uhh…it’s still nice…altogether. I mean uhh…well…” He ran out of words.
Vegeta smirked. “Kakarot, I’m just kidding. I kept it the same because I find it memorable.” He sat up on the edge to run his hand down the plush comforter.
Kakarot sighed in relief at that, but his face fell when he saw the look that Vegeta had. It was so sad…he wondered why He kept it the same if it made Him feel that way. Kakarot went to sit next to the God and took His hand in his lap and held onto it. “You’re not telling me everything.” He stared at the strong hand and traced the lines on His palm.
Vegeta turned His gaze to him then clenched His hand in his. “Another time.” He leaned over and kissed his cheek then stood and stroked the other’s face and hair. “You must be starving. I’ll go get you something.”
Kakarot gave Him a look, “but it’s not even dark out-oh.” He turned to look out the window only to see the sun setting. He turned back to Vegeta and smiled. “Okay.”
Vegeta smiled in return. “Alright. I’ll be right back.” Then turned and left.
Kakarot watched Him go before he started to feel tired all of a sudden. He yawned and stretched his stiff body then lied down on the bed and promptly fell asleep. Not long after, Vegeta returned with much food, but then noticed Kakarot fell asleep on Him. He set down the food He brought and went to take off Kakarot’s shoes and shirt then tucked him in underneath the clean covers. The boy didn’t twitch the whole time he was moved, which made Vegeta smile slightly then brush his hair before placing a soft kiss on his forehead and left the room.

“Kakarot! Wake up! You’re sleeping the day away!” When Vegeta’s shouts weren’t answered, He then tried to drag the boy out of bed…again. “Kakarot! Come on!” He grabbed his ankles and pulled while Kakarot grabbed the sheets, bringing them with him and onto the floor.
“Just another hour.” Vegeta heard the muffled moan through the sheets.
Vegeta rolled His eyes. “No. No more sleep. Time to get up.”
Kakarot sat up then and wrestled with the sheets to get them off of him. “Damn it, Vegeta! Why do I always have to get up so damn early in the day?! Can’t I sleep in for once?!” He had just about enough of getting up early. He didn’t have to do it before when Vegeta wasn’t around and that wasn’t about to change. After all, the God didn’t sleep so He can spend time with him whenever He wanted…and he wasn’t a child anymore.
Vegeta would’ve laughed at the way Kakarot looked with his already messy hair even more messed up, if that was possible, and the cute way he had his face when he pouted, but instead, He felt concerned. “Kakarot, it’s passed noon. You slept for half the day.”
Kakarot gave Him a perplexed look. “What?” Vegeta went to open the curtains to reveal a bright sun that looked to be at the top of the sky. Kakarot squinted his eyes against the offensive light then rubbed them and stood up to head to the window to affirm his eyes. “What?” He stated more than asked.
Vegeta took Kakarot’s face in His hands and brought his face to His own. “Are you feeling alright, Kakarot? Are you that tired?”
Kakarot saw the worry in the God’s eyes and had to remind himself that He couldn’t feel what he was feeling. Hell, He doesn’t even know what it’s like. He didn’t understand. He touched Vegeta’s wrists to calm Him. “Yes, I’m fine. I’m just…” He saw the food sitting off to the side of the bed and his stomach decided to tell him it was about that time again. “…hungry, is all.” He immediately went over to the food and dug into it. “Mmm.” He hummed around a mouthful.
Vegeta went to his side. “Kakarot, don’t eat that. It’s cold. It’s been sitting out since this morning.” He tried to stop him, but Kakarot shook his head.
“Tastes fine to me. I used to eat worse stuff than this anyway.” He shoved another mouthful of food in.
Vegeta gave him an odd look. “Well then at least pace yourself. I don’t want you to get sick.”
“I’ll be fine.” Kakarot retorted.
Vegeta sighed in defeat. “Fine.” He sat and watched His fated one devour everything in front of him. When he finished, Kakarot stretched and exclaimed how full he was, just like usual, but then he yawned and stated it was nap time. Just when he was crawling back into bed, Vegeta stood to voice His thoughts. “Don’t you want to do anything today?” He went around to sit at Kakarot’s side.
Kakarot sighed when he got comfy. “Like what?”
Vegeta shrugged. “Liiiiiiike…I could give you a tour of the castle…or we could go on a walk…I could take you anywhere in the world.” He suggested the last part lovingly.
Kakarot looked up at Him with a lazy smile. “That’s sweet, but not necessary.” Vegeta stroked his hair as he thought. What he really wanted to do was sleep, but he’s already slept way past the time he usually gets up and he had to entertain his company. He didn’t really want to go anywhere, so…“A tour sounds fine to me.”
The God smiled lovingly down at Kakarot before kissing him then stood excitedly. “Then get dressed. I’ll meet you in the dining hall.” With a second look, He turned and left.
Kakarot smiled until He left then groaned while he rubbed the tiredness out of his face. He sat up and yawned again before getting dressed. Yay. A tour of the castle. Judging by its size and how much time they had left in the day, they probably wouldn’t go through the whole thing. He paused in his movements. Wait, where was the dining hall?

~~ “I hate this color.” The noble stated as he trailed a finger down the gold painted pole that stood from the corner of his bed.
Vegeta grunted lightly. “You think so?”
Raditz nodded as he snuggled closer to his bed partner. “And red. I hate it too.”
Vegeta smirked into His lover’s long mane. “Is there anything you don’t hate?”
The noble looked up at the God’s face. “I don’t hate You.” Both shared a chaste kiss.
When they broke apart, Vegeta smiled and chuckled. “That’s good. I’m kind of hard to replace.”
Raditz smiled back. “I know. That might be why I don’t hate You.”
Vegeta laughed. “Ah, I see. For my unique personality and looks or is it for what I’m capable of?”
Raditz chuckled as he leaned up to worship his God’s chest. “Isn’t it obvious?”
Vegeta’s laughter died at the answer as He bit His lip to ponder at the roof of the bed above them. Were red and gold truly ugly colors?~~

Vegeta escorted Kakarot back to his room, who’s feet were dragging the whole way. “Well? What’d you think?” He smiled.
Kakarot forced a smile back. “Well, it sure is huge…AND we got through the whole thing…within a day.” He panted slightly as he made it up the last step to the hallway that lead to his room.
Vegeta’s smile fell. “Is that bad?”
When they made it to the room, Kakarot pushed the door open with some effort. “All I know is that it’s way past my bed time.” He trudged over to the bed and plopped down on it.
Vegeta scoffed at His fated one’s lack of enthusiasm. “Oh, come on. It’s only…dark…out.” He went to the window to pull back the curtain slightly, only to see it was pitch black out. He turned to Kakarot, who was in the middle of pulling his shirt off. “I’m sorry, Kakarot. I guess time escaped me.”
Kakarot sighed in exhaustion after he pulled his shirt off then lied down. “Doesn’t it always?” He mumbled before passing out.
Vegeta scowled at the other’s words, but said nothing. Was it Him? Was there something wrong with Him? Kakarot’s been completely uncaring the whole day. Did He do something wrong? He moved over to the foot of the bed to watch Kakarot sleep. Or…was there something wrong with Kakarot? He was sleeping more than usual lately and his behavior has changed a little. Is it because they’re in a different place or because they have yet to get used to being around each other? Either way, time will only tell.

Kakarot woke up a while ago, only to stare at the roof of the bed above him. He didn’t know why, but for some reason, he thought the colors of the room seemed to match Vegeta. If anything, they spoke more about Him than the noble that lived here. He may be old fashioned, but He’s unique and has a good heart. His tears are gold and His blood is red…as far as he knew. The colors together may be either tacky or fancy, but Vegeta could be both, if He wanted to be. If he really thought about it, Vegeta’s more like everyone else than He realizes. He has feelings, just humans do. However, He doesn’t understand them, which is why he has to help Him understand what He feels. Of course He’s different, but that’s not His fault. He lives with who He is…no matter how hard or painful it is. Now that Kakarot thought about it, Vegeta’s life might be a lot harder than his and here he was, feeling sorry for himself all this time. Vegeta can be rude when He wants or needs to be, but He never really seems to be in the right situation. Honestly, it wouldn’t hurt Him to be more so, especially when Kakarot’s acting like a child.
He was suddenly brought out of his thoughts when the door opened to his room. Vegeta came in carrying more food for him and set it down next to the bed. “Oh, good. You’re awake this time.”
Kakarot’s face fell at His words. He stood once Vegeta had His back to him then came up behind Him and embraced Him. Vegeta froze at the touch, but didn’t say or do anything until Kakarot spoke. “I’m sorry I’ve been so moody the last couple days. I guess I’ve just been…adjusting to everything that’s been happening. I haven’t stopped to consider how You’ve been doing.” He turned the God around to face him. “How have You been doing?”
Vegeta’s mouth twitched into a half smirk before it fell. “The same as you, I suppose. I’ve been kind of worried about your well-being. I don’t know if I’m doing a good job or not.”
Kakarot smiled. “You’re doing great. You feed me three times a day and come in to check on me to see if I’m doing alright. It’s almost like having a maid.” He smiled wider.
Vegeta smiled in return and chuckled lightly. “If I’m going to be treated as a maid, then you better start paying me.” He touched His forehead to Kakarot’s, who chuckled in return.
“How do You want me to pay You?” He tilted his head slightly in curiosity.
Vegeta leaned in for a kiss. “Oh, I can think of a few ways.” Kakarot responded to the kiss in full, but it ended for him all too soon when Vegeta pulled away. “You know…I hate to tell you this darling, but you are starting to smell quite badly.” He almost sounded reluctant to say that.
Kakarot pulled away in embarrassment. “Oh! I…guess I haven’t bathed for a while, huh?” He fidgeted nervously until Vegeta spoke.
“It’s alright. You’ve been tired. I’ll get a bath going for you. While I do that, you can eat.” He pointed to the food sitting on a nightstand by the bed and left.
Kakarot sat down on the edge of the bed before putting his face in his hands in embarrassment. He stayed like that for a while before turning to the food and downing it in no time. He wanted to hurry up and get a bath taken so he wouldn’t embarrass himself further.

Now that I’ve read this a couple times, it sounds kinda…boring…pointless. However, there is a reason why I wrote it. There’s a little itty bitty paragraph I wrote that will become a big deal in later chapters…that and character development. I wonder if you guys can guess what that is. Might be obvious, then again, it might not be. We’ll see. :)
