Morning after

Duo, for the first time in a long time, was happy. He had made his choice between the two of them and he was satisfied about it…kind of. What about Wufei though? How was he suppose to explain that he was with Heero and they couldn’t do those kinds of thins anymore? He wouldn’t feel right about it. Speaking of Heero…he had slipped away some time when Duo was still out of it…about ten minutes ago, and hadn’t come back yet.
Heero had his reasons. He was going to make coffee for Duo but as he started the machine he heard a car pull into the garage. Wufei was home. Staying where he was, Heero waited the short while for Wufei to join him in the kitchen. The reaction when Wufei walked in was immediate. Heero knew that he had to be tired after the mission because of the slight slump to his shoulders. Walking him up to his room and peeling off his clothes, Heero couldn’t keep the smile off his face.
“Wufei, I got him.”
“What?”
“Last night, Duo and I, in his room.” Wufei stared at him for a moment. There was no way that this was happening so fast. It really wasn’t though; they had known each other for a long time. Wufei returned the smile and leaned in to kiss Heero softly. Neither of them heard the soft shuffle of feet as Duo came down the hall, looking for his new lover.
He would have passed the door entirely if Heero hadn’t sighed. Looking through the slightly open door, he froze. What else could he do? Anything other than standing there would be a great idea. Thankful that he had thrown on clothes before leaving his room, he slipped down the stairs and into the garage. Getting on his motorcycle he started it up and left, not quite sure where he was going to go.
Hearing the bike start up, the two in the bedroom pulled away from each other and went to the window to watch Duo drive away. They stood there for a while after they couldn’t see him anymore. The silence was broken by Wufei.
“He saw us.”
“Hn.”
“Where’s he going to go?”
“Do you think he’ll come back?” Wufei shifted slightly so he could see Heero’s face. He looked like he was going to cry. Heero had given himself to Duo and just watched him leave; it had to be hard on him. Putting an arm around him and pulling him close; he said what he really thought.
“We need to give him a while to think about it. Then, coming back will be up to him. He might take a few days or a few weeks to figure it out, but I think I know where he’s going to get help, and he’ll be fine. Now, I need sleep, we’ll worry about it when we get up.”
