Liaisons
Smirking with pride, Prince Vegeta flew down the hall at half ki with no regard for anyone else in the hall, making a path for his wife-to-be. He would sweep her off her feet and...honestly, hadn\'t quite thought that far ahead. Ever. His deepest thoughts about a woman was merely being able to take her to bed, never marrying her or even liking a female enough to consider marriage. In this case, he hadn\'t really had much choice; but even if he had, something told him that he would have had this play out exactly as it had, so far - minus the people trying to kill him. Indeed, his life was beginning to play out the way he had always planned it to. The only thing left was for his father to die, and Vegeta to be named King of Bejitasai, where Kaana would become his Queen. Nothing could destroy his future now; not even some murderous group bent on assassinating him. No one would take him down.
As he whirled in to the bedroom, Kaana had taken the liberty to shower herself. This he knew by the damp towel on the floor, the scent of soap and moisture on the air, and the damp hair that hung around her figure. He let his smirk widen as his eyes fell on her, standing there as she brushed her hair. She was so peaceful and beautiful standing there; he almost hated to tell her she didn\'t have to be naked any more if she didn\'t want to. Within his mind, he wondered briefly why she\'d become so settled in this life so quickly. She never struck him as the \'flexible\' type; but, that thought receded back into the recesses of his mind as she turned around to look at him. She passed him a gentle smirk in return, and put the brush down.
"Do you often stand watching women brush their hair?" she teased.
"No, just ones that occupy my bed and marry me in the morning..." he replied, crossing his arms over his chest.
"What about before--" Kaana started, but cut off when she finally caught what he actually had said. "Women that what you in the morning?..." her face shifted to an expression of shocked disbelief. Vegeta crossed the room to stand before her, and slipped his strong, possessive arms around her waist.
"Women that marry me." he repeated, grinning playfully. The stun value was worth the joke by itself. "Before you," he continued, answering her unfinished question. "There was no one else. Now that I have gained the right to the throne, I need to announce you as my wife before the planet tomorrow morning, where you get to make your first speech as my wife, and future Queen. You\'re expected to instate a few laws of your own, or change a few, to make an impression on the public, but that\'s enough policy jargon for right now - right now, I want us to forget all about the morning, and focus on right now..."
Kaana blinked herself into reality after staring at him in stunned silence. She knew it was inevitable, but in the morning? Was she ready for this? Whether she was or not wasn\'t the question any more though; it was moreover a question of if she could handle the duty without passing out, fainting, or making mistakes.
Vegeta could see she was still phased from the news; not exactly the reaction he was hoping for, but it was certainly better than refusal, or worse, that excited, happy cry that women got at emotional moments.
"Well, this means you can walk freely and fully clothed, order people around, use ki, whatever you like, short of killing my father...but, like I said, that\'s enough of this talk..."
This time, instead of letting her reply or think, Vegeta placed a tender kiss on Kaana\'s lips, drawing her closer. It was far different than any action he\'d ever partaken upon her; it was filled with gentleness and affection. He curled his arms completely around her torso, and pulled back to look at her.
"There\'s a heavy day ahead, we need to be up. I won\'t expect anything from you tonight; tomorrow, you will be sore...We\'ll go to sleep, for now, my queen..."
"I...still don\'t know how to react, I...I will be okay in the morning. I have much to think on..." she spoke, pulling back, walking over to the bed. Vegeta trailed behind her, and laid next to her as he held her close. She had totally taken over his world; funny how women seemed to do that to the strongest of men.
"Kaana, I don\'t readily admit this to many, but...I love you." Kaana laid there in silence, unsure of what to say. It all happened so fast; she couldn\'t process it all - so, she pretended she\'d fallen asleep out of exhaustion.

The sunlight was harsh this morning, and miles of saiyans crowded the courtyard. Kaana spent most of the night unslept, and had pondered what she was going to say. No one of this generation had witnessed a royal wedding; no one knew what to expect. It had been Vegeta\'s grandfather at a very young age that had been married like this, and none of the saijins who were around then were left alive, it had been so long ago - no one knew what to expect. Not even Kaana knew what was supposed to happen - it was one of those lost traditions of ages ago. She did know that it was quite simple - otherwise, the tradition would not have been lost so easily. Many would have been told of extravagant royal weddings, if they existed. Pride of self was a huge thing with sayins. Go figure. Thankfully, neither she nor Vegeta had to lead anything - she didn\'t even have to dress herself. The council had stuck her in royal armor, black in color with laces of silver and gold intertwined, and shined up to shimmer brilliantly in the light. What Vegeta was wearing, she never saw.
"People of Bejitasai, I usher your attention..." spoke the youngest of the council. The rest stood off to the side of the podium, one particular elder council man missing. "This day we announce that Prince Vegeta has earned his right to Kingship. This day, he has also had in his possession a bedding woman, and as law states, he must announce her as his wife. This tradition falls upon the council\'s hands to direct, and as such, I call upon Prince Vegeta to speak."
From behind her in the shadows, Vegeta stepped into the light, then before the crowd with a similar outfit, only his was black with ribbons of blood red, and a simple looking golden crown adorned his head.
"I present you my wife, my confidant, my heart; I give you the woman who will lead at my right hand at the passing of my father; people of Bejitasai, I present to you Kaana, your future Queen!"
Taking the obvious queue, Kaana stepped over to the front of the crowd, overlooking them. All eyes of the planet were on her, and it made her feel a little light headded - but this wasn\'t the time to look weak or faint.
"Go ahead - speak your words." someone whispered to her - who, she did not know. Stepping up beside Vegeta, whom placed an arm around her back.
"Just start up with law changes, it looks more confident..."
"People of Bejitasai, I propose that we alter only two laws for the future and protection of the planet; I hereby legalize the use of Ki by women for military purposes; all laws that govern men now also apply to women. I also hereby abolish all definitions of classes in employment; all citizens may now apply for the test of Elite status, and all may now attempt to become soldiers. There are others in this universe that can and will overpower us; it is time we unite as a planet, and prepare to branch out our race to other realms. We cannot advance while going nowhere! It is time the Saiyan race realized their true potential! Today we might have one planet; tomorrow, we may have twenty!"
The crowd seemed to like the latter idea, for as she spoke, the chatter got louder.
"Innovative, Kaana. I wasn\'t quite expecting that - but you\'ve mananged to give women almost equal rights without upsetting the majority of the crowd." Vegeta told her, quietly. "Come; I have many things to....show you." he smirked, and led her back towards the inside of the castle.

"Hmm. I\'m not liking this development, father...I wasn\'t even aware the women of this race had ki. Is it really worth it to keep this petty, useless race alive? We only have one child off the planet, it would be a good opportunity to destroy them..." Freiza spoke, talking to his father, King Cold, whom was on the communications screen.
"I don\'t really care about your little toys; blow them up if you feel threatened..."
"I don\'t feel threatened; no one can destroy us! I just don\'t want the fuss of dealing with them when they think they can."
"Fine; at least make it look like an accident..." Frieza glanced out the window of his space ship, staring evilly at a group of asteroids circling the planet.
"How about a natural disaster?"

As Vegeta walked leisurely with his new wife to their bedroom, planning all the things he was going to do to her, all the ways he would sex her, and all the toys he would use to make her scream out for him, a haunting siren came blasting over the air. It was the asteroid siren; it only went off when one of the larger rocks floating around the planet broke off from the belt, and was headed straight for the planet....
