Damn Traditions 18

Okay all hail the new Prince! I thank you all again for reading and reviewing, especially Kit Kat. Enjoy, more to come…

Damn Traditions continued…

Buddabin came bursting out of Kakarott’s room. “Where the hell is the Prince! Raditz take your big dumb friend to find him and now before this first class prick of a medic loses his life. Kakarott’s only just holding back, but he’ll blow soon and kill the only one who can get this baby out of him.

For once the two soldiers stood up and took notice of the third class who usually liked to stay in the background trying to be unseen. When they both felt the small rise of power level in the other room, they decided they had better do as he asked and hurried off together to find the Prince.

They almost ran into him coming their way. It seemed the Prince had felt his mate’s rise in level and decided it was best to be there. Both of them got out of his way as he walked to his mate’s room, looking a little pissed.

Buddabin saw him coming and slipped back into the room. He took one look at Kakarott who was covered in the sheets and not about to let the medic anywhere near him, his power levels still rising as he growled at the man.

“Kakarott power down this instant!” ordered Vegeta as he entered the room, “Step away from my mate until I get him calmed down. This will not do!”

The medic moved back as he was ordered and Vegeta approached his mate. “I said power down Kakarott; it can’t be good for the baby.”

Immediately Kakarott did as he was ordered. “Make him go away Vegeta. He wants to cut my baby out of me and take him away from me.”

“Kakarott, how else is the baby going to come out? You can try and squeeze it out of your ass if you want to, but I don’t think you’d really want to.”

Kakarott turned white at the images Vegeta put in his head.

“Good, I will not be leaving and your servant will be here all the time as well.”

Buddabin wanted to bristle at being called a servant, but he was not about to argue the point with Vegeta. Besides he wanted to learn more about the birthing process so that in the future they would not have to put up with first class pricks like the medic.

Kakarott cried out and put his hands on his belly as another contraction hit him.

“I need to give him a lumbar injection to put the lower part of his body to sleep, but he won’t let me,” said the medic to Vegeta.

“Kakarott seems to have formed a fear of injections,” said Buddabin. The medic glared at him.

“You need all of him asleep,” said Vegeta.

The medic looked at him and nodded, “That would be easier.”

Vegeta moved over to his distraught mate. He sat down on the bed; put a hand on the mound of stomach that held his child within. “He wants out Kakarott.” He put a hand around Kakarott’s head and lowered it onto his neck trying to find the right spot and then he pressed and Kakarott was out. “Now give him a shot to make sure he stays out and let’s get on with this.”

----------------------------------------------------------------

Vegeta looked down at the child in his arms. This was his son, his heir, third in line to the throne of Vegetasei. He looked back at his sleeping mate, he had done well, even now the Prince could feel the power in his son, there would be no mistaking this child for anything but Elite.

Buddabin looked over at the Prince, “If you are going to go, go now. He won’t be able to move until he’s healed and I can keep him here if I show him a needle again, that’s the one thing I’ve ever seen him afraid of.”

“Baka. Tell him the child will be well cared for. He’s my son and he’ll have nothing but the best. When he goes into season I’ll return then.”

Buddabin looked down at Kakarott. “Don’t expect a happy reunion.”

Vegeta turned and walked away with the bundle in his arms. He hurried straight to the ship where he was met by Nappa. “I have most of my men on board, I and Raditz will follow on the next ship.”

“Are you sure these eunuchs are as well trained as our troop?”

“Yes. I checked all of them personally, they’ll go well if put in a combat situation. What are you expecting?”

“Nothing for now, but Kakarott isn’t going to be happy to know I’ve taken the child. I just don’t trust the Icejins. They will know I have a son soon, Zarbon will tell them, I’m sure we’ll be in for a visit, no doubt.”

“Raditz and I will deal with Kakarott, when the bearers go into season we can’t stay too long after that.”

Vegeta nodded and entered the ship. Nappa stepped back and watched as it left, then went to find Raditz.

Raditz was leaning against the wall outside his brother’s room. “He’s gone?”

“Yes. Him?”

“Still sleeping. Buddabin’s with him. He’s strong, he’ll heal fast, then we’ll have our hands
full. He didn’t want to give the child up. He wanted to try and raise it, even though he doesn’t have the faintest idea of what to do with a baby.”

“What’s there to do? You feed it, change it and let it sleep a lot.”

Raditz laughed, “I think there’s a lot more to it than that. Not that I know much either. Still he wanted to try. He’s still not fond of the first class, especially after meeting that medic. I expect he’ll try anything to make sure he doesn’t get pregnant again if he has to put up with him again. Not that I blame him either, I want the prick gone as soon as. So, what for us now?”

“We will check out the eunuchs, make sure they get to know this world well. Also you will continue to check on the security of the Prince’s palace until it is finished.”

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There was a crowd standing outside the royal palace. There had been an announcement made that the Prince’s child had been born and that he would be presented to the people. From a balcony one the first floor of the palace the King came out to a tumultuous roar from his people. He took the adulation then started to wave his hands in a quieting motion. “May I present Prince Vegeta, Princess Aspaga and my new grandson, Prince Vegeta the third.”

Vegeta and Aspaga came through the doors, both sporting forced smiles. Vegeta was worried his wife would hurt the child born to his mate. She had accepted holding him but it didn’t mean she had to enjoy it.

The crowds were cheering their new Prince when the King took the babe from Aspaga as had been arranged. He uncovered the child’s head to let them see the spiky head of hair, which was like his sires line, though the peak had at least two offshoots at the base of his tiny skull. He let out a cry of indignation at being uncovered which had the crowd cheering further. After a minute or two the King recovered his grandson and turned to hand him back to Aspaga, but Vegeta moved forward instead to take his son. He held him close to him as he and the others turned to go back inside.

Once inside the nanny Aspaga had arranged moved to take the child from his father. He growled at her.

“He needs to be fed Highness.”

Only when the boy would not stop his crying did Vegeta hand him over. He watched her leave, having to trust her. Then he followed his father and his wife into the dining hall where there were dignitaries from other planets there to acknowledge the new Prince.

Vegeta was quick to notice the smile Aspaga got from and gave to the Icejin Ambassador, Zarbon. He had heard one of his guards gossiping that the Princess had made friends with the Ambassador. He wondered how long it would be for her to get him in bed, if she could. He could care less except for the fact that she knew the truth about the child, and Kakarott.

He looked around trying to see if his mate’s father was anywhere. Though he had the suspicion that he had been purposely sent elsewhere. Vegeta smiled to himself, he was pretty sure his father thought that he did not know who had had been sleeping with that day.

He sat down and began to eat with the rest, the look on his face enough to keep any questions at bay. He was radiating a do not disturb aura, and it was working. He kept his
eyes on Aspaga and Zarbon who were sitting together, with the King on the other side of Zarbon. Though the blue skinned man seemed to want to have a conversation with the King, rather than Aspaga.

Not far into the feast everyone felt the palace rock. As the King stood to calm his guests, guards came running in from outside.

“Sire, there has been a terrorist attack in the city. One of the testing stations was destroyed. The rebels must have stepped up their activity.”

The King nodded at the report. “Get the palace locked down, have all our guests escorted to their embassies. Take the Princess back to the nursery.”

The guards nodded and hurried to do as they were told. Vegeta was still seated at the table watching as the King’s orders were obeyed. Though again he noted that Zarbon kept close to the King, and only left when a guard came to him to usher him out. The King’s and Zarbon’s eyes locked for a moment as the man left. Vegeta stopped eating then and got to his feet. There was that niggling feeling that he had felt before that his father was up to something.

----------------------------------------------------------------

“Damn it!” shouted the King as he paced his office

There had been further attacks throughout the city, a few third class and a second class had been killed on the attacks, mainly because they were caught by collapsing buildings. It seemed there were warnings before each attack.

Vegeta was seated in his usual seat in the King’s office. He hadn’t said much of anything since it had all started. He had checked on his son when he had a chance and was glad to see extra guards outside the nursery doors.

But still there was that feeling creeping over his skin. That was why he kept close to his father.

“We can’t seem to get anything on these rebels. The attacks are random, yet there are always warnings before hand. I’ve sent out our best squads, but they find nothing.”

“Does that include my mate’s father?”

“What?”

“I have not seen him since my return.”

“Oh, no I… He’s trying to make contact with that rebel leader for me.”

Again Vegeta noticed his father was not raising his eyes to meet his.

“I want to send my son to the safe world,” said Vegeta.

“What! No it is too dangerous.” The King stopped his pacing, but his slid his eyes away and began to pace again. “We know the rebels know about the safe world. Do you want to lose you child like you lost your mate?”

And then the palace was rocked again, only this time, Vegeta knew it was the palace itself that was under attack. He took off for the nursery.
