"I'm putting on my jeans."
Giana said, watching Vegeta as he slept.
"I'm putting on my shirt."
She raised her voice a bit. She reached over and turned on the TV.
"I wonder what the news is talking about."
She looked back over at Vegeta. He never moved. She sighed.
"I'm putting on my shoes."
She giggled as she clapped the heels together. He was as stiff as a board. Her shoulders fell before she slipped on the red leather heels.
"I'm leaving."
She opened the bedroom door and let it close. She grunted as she waited for Vegeta to move.
Nothing.
"No, Ana. Don't go."
She whispered in her best dramatic tone.
"Stay! Let's have breakfast."
She pulled the door back open and slipped out. She grabbed a strawberry out of the mini fridge before letting herself out of the hotel room door. She tried to tame her wild curls as she waited for the elevator. She stepped on to the empty elevator and pushed the button for the lobby. She tried to brush her hair with her fingers as the elevator stopped and the doors opened. Her jaw almost hit the floor as she looked around.
"Weren't you wearing that last night, Giana?"
Bulma put her hand on her hip as she squinted at her. A large group of women turned to look at her. She patted her hair down the best she could before stepping off of the elevator.
"Did you stay the night?"
Bulma squealed.
There was an eruption of cheers. "Ooooh," "Aw," and "You go, girl"s came from the crowd.
"What is this?"
Giana looked at Bulma. Her face flushed several different shades of red.
"My friend's bridal shower! I'd ask you to stay but you look like you could use a shower and a change of clothes."
She giggled, looking at Giana from head to toe.
"Yeah."
She smiled.
"See ya."
"Later, girl!"
Bulma raised her glass.
"Good for you, A!"
The crowd cheered as Giana quickly made her way out of the lobby.
"Holy crap."
She shook her head before darting into the sky.

Vegeta sat up and looked around the room. Her things were gone. He rubbed his forehead before pushing himself from the bed. He shut the TV off and reached for his jeans. Her scent lingered on his skin. He smirked as the images of her flashed through his mind. He pulled on his shirt and shoes. He took a deep breath and slipped out of the room. He pushed the button on the elevator and waited. His back stung as he leaned against the wall while he waited. He rubbed his fingers over the stinging area.
"Ow!"
He jumped. He smiled at the mark she had left on him. He was hers. He always had been. The elevator door opened and he slipped in. He looked over at himself in the mirror that covered the wall. He lifted the back of his shirt and examined the brand she had left. A small red mark on his neck caught his attention. He moved the collar of his shirt and examined the hickey on his collarbone. He laughed.
"That woman."
The elevator doors opened and Vegeta froze.
"Wheeeew!"
The crowd shouted.
"Vegeta! You too?"
Bulma laughed, winking at him.
"Me too?"
He tried to push through the crowd of women.
"A just came through here looking kind of like you! Tired, a mess, and in yesterday's clothes."
She giggled.

Giana's feet hit the ground. She was lost in her thoughts.
"Was it a 'one time' thing?"
She wondered. She turned the handle to the back door.
"Ana!"
Krillin shouted from the picnic table.
She spun around, startled.
"Hey... Guys..."
"Hey. We missed you last night. What happened?"
Goku squinted at her with a smile.
"Yeah. You said you'd dance with me!"
Piccolo laughed.
Their sarcastic gazes told Giana that they already knew what had happened.
"Um, I was just a little tired so I decided to check out the room."
She lied.
"Alone?"
Krillin smiled at her.
"Yeah!"
She was finding it hard to make eye contact with any of them.
"Where was Vegeta? He disappeared too."
Krillin rested his chin on his palm, interested in what she would come up with.
She shrugged.
"I'm not sure."
"Oh really?"
Goku grinned from ear to ear.
"Where have you been all day?"
"Shopping."
She answered quickly.
"With who?"
He raised an eyebrow at her.
"Myself."
She smiled, knowing she was busted.
"Where are your bags?"
He chuckled.
Giana jumped as a hand wrapped around her waist. She looked back.
"You forgot your phone."
"Thanks."
She took her phone and slid it into her back pocket.
Vegeta kissed her temple.
"When you're done chatting with these clowns, come upstairs. I want to talk to you."
"Actually, we were just finished."
She glanced around at the three men at the table as they watched the two interact much differently than they ever had. Giana slipped inside and left Vegeta on the porch, alone.
"That's my girl, Vegeta!"
Piccolo joked, throwing an orange at him.
Vegeta caught it with a smile.
"Oops."
He threw it back at the Namekian.
"Not anymore."
He joked.
"I would high-five you if I felt like getting up. I'm way too hung over."
Piccolo laughed, laying his forehead against the table.
Goku smiled at Vegeta, giving him a nod of approval.
Vegeta pushed the door open and chased the Saiyan woman up the stairs.
"Ana."
He caught her just as she was about to open her bedroom door.
"Hmm?"
She looked up at him.
"About last night..."
"Don't worry about it, Vegeta."
She shrugged.
"I don't expect you to be tied down. You have more important things to worry about, like your training."
She smiled a soft smile.
"I get it."
"No..."
He began.
"It's fine."
She pushed open her bedroom door.
"I have to get in the shower, Vegeta. I have training to do."
With that she slipped into the bedroom and shut the door.
Vegeta stood there, in shock. Did she think that was what he wanted? A 'one night stand'? His heart broke as he stood alone in the hall way. That was all she took him for? A man that only wanted her for one thing? He wanted her for life, not just a night. He stomped toward her room and shoved the door open.
"Ana..."
"Vegeta!"
She looked at him shocked.
"What are you doing?"
"Is that how I made you feel? Like I only wanted you for sex?"
He squinted at her.
"Vegeta..."
She shut the drawer she had opened.
"I didn't say that. I'm just saying, it's not a big deal if..."
"Not a big deal?"
He shouted.
"How is, what happened last night, not a big deal to you?"
"I didn't say that!"
She shouted back.
"Can we please not do this?"
"Do what?"
"Scream at each other!"
She answered quickly.
"Is that what you think? Do you think I only wanted you for sex?"
He tried his best to stay calm.
"Is that all you wanted, Vegeta?"
She paused for an answer.
He was silent.
"I told you, last night, that I love you, Vegeta. I meant it. I've always loved you. Look at me and say it back. You said it once..."
She stepped closer to him.
"Say it again."
Vegeta's dark eyes searched her face. He opened his mouth but nothing came out. He pushed but his voice had caught in his throat.
"Say it, fool!"
His head screamed.
"I..."
He looked away from her.
"That's what I was afraid of."
She muttered.
"No."
He caught her hand as she turned away from him.
"I do."
He insisted.
"Then tell me, Vegeta. Prove to me that it wasn't a 'heat of the moment' thing."
She squeezed his hand.
"I can't."
He grunted.
She nodded, looking away from him. She sighed as tears filled her eyes.
"I need a shower, Vegeta."
She pulled her hand away from his.
"I'll see you later to train, ok?"
She pulled the dresser drawer open and pulled out her training clothes. She grabbed a towel off of the vanity.
"No..."
He tried to stop her.
"Damn it!"
He shouted.
"Will you just believe me?"
"I need a shower, Vegeta."
She leaned forward and kissed his cheek.
"Are we still training later?"
She sniffed.
His body shook as anger washed through him. He let out a loud yell.
"Just say it! Why is this so hard?"
He thought. He stomped out of the room and down the stairs. He shoved the door open.
"Stop running away from me!"
She shoved him.
"Do not touch me, woman!"
Vegeta shouted, spinning around. Their noses were almost touching as he yelled.
"Stop running."
She stepped toward him.
"Or what?"
He grunted.
Her green eyes pierced through him as he glared down at her. Her eyes quickly softened as she examined his face. Sure, he looked angry but it wasn't at her. He was angry with himself.
"Stop running."
She whispered.
"Stop fighting it."
His heart pounded in his ears as she spoke. He held his breath, hoping to calm himself. His hands shook. That warm feeling that had lately consumed him more times than not, filled him up again. He felt the icy walls around his heart melt and fast. Something about her made him weak and stronger at the same time. She made him want to be a better person. But, was that what he wanted? Was that the direction he wanted his life to go? His confusion made his blood boil. He loved her more than he loved himself and that pissed him off more than anything. His pride was being tampered with by nothing more than a mere woman. Would he stand for it? Would he let her have that piece of him?
"I hate what you do to me."
He grunted.
"I hate it when you're an idiot."
She shot back.
"If we hate each other so much, then why did last night happen?"
He raised an eyebrow at her.
"I guess that's a question for yourself."
She turned and stomped away from him, disappearing into the house.
Vegeta looked over at the men at the table. They were watching him, wide-eyed. He grunted before kicking into the air.
Giana grabbed her things and slipped into the bathroom. Her back hit the door as she sobbed. She slid to her rear, pulling her knees to her chest.
Vegeta punched the side of a large tree. His knuckles ached as his fist flew, over and over again.
"Why was this so hard? It was so easy last night. Why is it so difficult now?"
He asked himself.
"I need to get out of here. I need to clear my head."
