So please if possible leave a review this time!!! Thanks. Here is the 2nd chapter. I\'ll be putting up the 3rd shortly.

Chapter 2- Embark
“My mother was one of the higher ladies in class, and I as he daughter was expected to marry a rich bachelor.” The old woman mumbled dreamily.

“Oh look at it.” The older brown-haired woman stated as she was accompanied out of our new Ford. “It’s darling.” She giggled merrily, as she stared at the marvelous ship in dock.
It was a titan of a ship. With three smoke stacks and decks that seemed to go on forever, once upon the ship, that is. Anyone whom was anybody was boarding, except the steerage.
“You’re right it is rather charming.” A man stated, as he too, climbed out of the vehicle. He was tall lean, and had a peculiar grin upon is tan face. His raven black hair was greased back, in a sort of fashion that revealed his forehead. “Don’t you believe so darling?” He clamored into the car, as a young woman stepped from it.
The young girl was slender and her eyes glinted a curious amber that lit up the morning. She was comely and wore a long lace dress, with a matching feathered hat. Loose strands of her rosy hair from her bun blew rapidly in the little wind.
“Yes, but I don’t see why it is considered so luxurious.” She yawned unimpressed.
“Dian, Your daughter is quite hard to please.” The man joked, as he lit a cigar.
“Well, of course, Mariah is.” Her mother laughed. “She didn’t stop till you were her fiancé, Lee.”
Dian and Lee threw their heads back in a calm respected laugh. Mariah turned away with a distorted look on her face. She despised how much her mother fawned over Lee. He was just a rich man, and that was all. No thoughts or regard for her welfare. No kisses split from his lips. Nothing to show that he cared.
But her mother cared not for soul as Mariah did, but for wealth. And yes Lee was the wealthiest bachelor her mother could get her unclean hands on.
“Great.” Mariah muttered to herself, as the two sustained their laugh. “I’m going on the grandest ship the world has ever seen with a couple of bear-bellied fools.”
Just as Mariah had finished Dian whirled around and smiled. “Oh, Darling, isn’t this going to be grand? You, me, and Lee, all together and after the trip, the wedding.”
Mariah innocently smiled a false grin. “Yes mother it will be grand.” She agreed with a tone of counterfeit happiness.
“Isn’t she a doll?” Dian asked Lee, half in laughter. “I hope she’s good to you on the honeymoon.”
“As long as the goddess of chastity remains, I don’t think I will.” Lee barked, still puffing on his cigar.
The two laughed once again in unison. Mariah turned away and started dusting her dress off, trying to convince the crowd she was of no relation to these snobby upper class folk.
As she did, Mariah heard a fateful shout approach her. She blinked and thought nothing of it, until she looked up, in hope her companions had stopped their laughter, only to find herself shoved violently onto the ground.
Mariah looked dizzily around. Her eyesight was blurred and unfocused. She could hear mother shouting angrily. And suddenly she felt an arm pull her up to her feet. She staggered for a moment and found her center of balance.
“I’m sorry.” She heard a gruff, friendly voice state that had helped her from the ground. “I didn’t mean to push you down. Please accept my..”
Mariah’s sight regained, as her mother rudely in interrupted saying. “Why you foul little roach, how dare you touch my daughter!”
Mariah stared still collecting her thoughts, as Lee asked. “Are you alright?”
“Yes.” Mariah stammered shakily. “He didn’t leave a mark.” Mariah immediately began brushing the collected dust from her petticoat. Lee did the same.
“Did he ruin your gown?” Dian asked petrified that the treasured material be soiled.
“No.” Mariah managed to say. “He didn’t do anything.”
“Of course he did.” The mother remarked sarcastically. “He touched you!”
And with that she whirled around angrily at the steerage man.
Mariah stared blankly at the man. Surprisingly he looked like one of them, only in much more dirty and overused clothes. His eyes were of light amber, as hers, and his long hair was a soft ebony that shined in the little sunlight. He held in his left hand a small bag, that looked to be trash and in his right, a boarding pass. But overall he was extremely handsome.
“I apologize madam, for how rudely I bumped into you.” The pauper politely replied. “You see, I am looking for..”
“A reason to talk to us.” Dian growled.
“No, I was just.”
“Your lucky this time peasant.” Dian sneered. “I won’t report you for touching my daughter.”
Mariah stared at the man’s cool collected face, cock to the side, as if to challenge the woman. Mariah smiled, finding his facial expression entertaining.
“There is no law against being polite, and helping somebody you pushed down up.” The boy remarked. “But there is a law a racism.”
Dian’s eyes widened as the man spoke. “How dare you jeer at me.”
Lee stood motionless as the pauper grinned once again. Mariah stared happily at her mother’s awestruck face. She had always wanted to wipe that snobby look off what her mother called a face.
“I’m not jeering madam. If you knew what the word meant, you would know what to say.” The man cleverly stated. His cool grin grew devilishly.
“You. You can’t do that I’m in first class.” Dian boasted.
“Ah, but madam, we are all seen the same in god’s eyes. And shouldn’t we work harder to get to his home, instead of on the ship?” The man laughed.
“Pish Posh.” Dian snootily retorted. “Why do I bother with such uncivilized barbarians?”
“Ma’am, if I do say so myself you’re the one who’s being barbaric. You started this squabble.”
“And I’ll be the one to finish it.” Dian growled and spat on the man’s worn shoes.
And with that she stormed away into the bustle of the crowd. Lee followed, whist guiding Mariah with him.
“Ray!” Mariah heard somebody yell from behind her, as she was dragged away. She quickly whirled around and stared intrigued at the couple before her.
There, was the man that had back sassed her mother, and another boy, whom must’ve been the one that had called the dark haired one’s name.
The other boy was relatively handsome as well. He too wore torn and ragged clothes, and held a small luggage bag. But his charcoal hair stuck at odd ends and was cut in a short distinctive style. His eyes were darker and more crimson in the morning sunlight. And he was taller.
“C’mon Mariah.” Lee pulled. “We mustn’t dawdle.”
“Ray” Mariah thought enchantingly, as she was dragged on the bridge connecting to the ship. “Ray, Ray.”
“Mariah, please.” Lee moaned. “Could you please stand upright like the young and dignified woman you are?”
Mariah’s eyes widened with surprise. “Oh, yes Lee.” Mariah replied, as she stood up and smoothed her skirt.
When the trio finally reached the dock they turned around, and stared in awe at the crowd before them.
Mariah watched Ray and his companion walk across the bridge to the steerage level of the ship.
“Aren’t they pitiful?” Dian asked Mariah as she stared at the ‘lower level’ folk.
Mariah nodded as if she had heard what her mother had said, but she simply couldn’t take her eyes off that male figure. Something about him was different than any one she had encountered before.

ooOoo, do I smell love? lol, please review!!!
