January: New Year, New Life

6:11 pm
It\'s New Years day! It was a long year last year, but not as bad as one might think. WE is doing well, which is a good thing, but I\'ve been busy, very busy, working under my father. It\'s hard being the heir. It\'s just hard being Muslim in this day and age. I don\'t want to be part of the traditional patriarchal ideas, but when you\'re born into it, then there\'s nothing you can do about it.
Duo gave me this diary for Christmas, saying that if I don\'t want to talk to him, then I could talk to this. Relena and Wufei agreed excessively that I needed something to vent my frustrations to. I\'m not sure exactly how to do it, but I think I\'m doing a good job. I feel better already, which is a good thing, I suppose. But I\'m doing what I promised I wouldn\'t, I\'m complaining and whining, which I\'m sorry about. I really didn\'t mean to dump things on you.
Oh my, I\'m apologizing to a book; I must be losing it. I must make sure not to tell Duo about this one, he\'d probably get me committed. This is definitely a new low, and very bad start to the year. I need to stop blaming myself for everything, loosen up, get cool. I started last night by getting really drunk, which was something new for me. I finally got my head to stop feeling like it was going to cave in on itself-- that\'s a good thing. I think that was a hangover. I had my first hangover today! I have to be loosening up. Only now I have an excessively boring corporate function to go to in about two hours, and I\'m still in bed with a cup of tea writing in my journal. I think I might be getting a little closer to normal. Actually if I was normal, I\'d have a cup of coffee, but I just don\'t like coffee. It\'s not a nice as tea.
10:30 pm
Remind me never to do that again. I don\'t want to deal with boring corporate people while my head\'s trying to explode. Dealing with them normally makes me feel like my head\'s going to explode, but adding a hangover to the mix equals disaster. I think I might have yelled at someone to shut up. I thought I just said it inside my head, but for some reason it came out. Everyone was staring at me like I grew a second head. Was it that out of character for me? At least Father sent me home after that. It was a relief, but still not a good thing.
Only I never got home. By the time I was reaching my car, Relena called. Seemhe whe was having trouble with that stupid boy she\'s been chasing after. Apparently he drew a gun on her, again, to get her to leave him alone. I know that he isn\'t interested, but he really shouldn\'t threaten her. Once I calmed her down, it was decided that we needed to get everyone together for dinner. That\'s when the real trouble started.
On the way to the restaurant, some guy rear-ended me. It was icy, but I was stopped at a light and he hit me! I\'d even been stopped there for some time, but he still hit me. I wasn\'t in the best of moods to begin with, seeing that my head was still throbbing, and I was embarrassed about what happened at the party, and dreading the fact that for the next few hours I was going to have to listen to Lena bitch about how Heero is such a jerk, and trying to keep Duo from leaving the restaurant to beat the holy living shit out of the cold bastard. Needless to say, I was a little pissed.
Shrugging my coat a little closer to my neck, I got out of the car to confront the asshole, but was knocked backwards, figuratively speaking. The owner of the other car was a tall, attractive man, with a fall of auburn hair over half his face and piercing green eyes, the color of moss. Even through the heavy coat I could tell that he was well built, his muscles pushing against the navy blue down. For some reason I found my heart pounding and my khakis growing very tight. Duo would have loved this guy.
\"Are you okay?\" he asked, his low voice soothing my frayed nerves.
\"Fine,\" I found myself squeaking. Why was he having the effect on me? I\'m straight. I like girls.
\"Are you sure? You look a little shaken.\" He moved closer, placing a hand on my shoulder. \"Would you like to sit down or something?\"
\"No, I\'m fine,\" I answered regaining my composure. I could feel his hand through my thick coat, the warmth and pressure causing my stomach to get all fluttery. \"Are you okay?\"
\"Just fine.\" He smiled at me. It was a beautiful smile. \"But I\'m not sure about the cars.\" I had almost forgotten about the accident. Silently we both moved to look at the bumpers.
\"It\'s not that bad,\" I said, looking at him hopefully. \"It looks purely cosmetic. How\'s you\'re car?\" He was bent over examining his bumper, leaving me a perfect view of his tight bottom; not that I was looking for any other reason than to compare it to mine.
Definitely tighter then mine. I wish I had a butt like that.
\"It\'ll survive. But, I think we should exchange information anyway. Just in case.\" He looked at me again with those green eyes.
\"Okay. I think I have some paper in my car, give me a second.\" I scuttled gracelessly back to the car. There isn\'t anything that you can do in snow other than scuttle, especially with dress shoes on. I leaned into the already open door, and a few seconds later I pulled out the paper and a pencil. Catching another quick glance back to the other man, I scribbled my name and number down and handed it to him.
\"Quatre Winner!? As in Winner Enterprises?\" He seemed a little shocked.
\"That would be me,\" I sheepishly admitted. He gave a shrugging laugh as he tore off the page before writing down his own information and handing it back.
\"Well Quatre,\" he smiled again, \"We\'ll be in touch.\" I felt my knees turn to jelly as he got back into his car. Realizing that I was staring again, I slipped back behind the wheel of my car and drove off. I was late as it was.
It wasn\'t until I got to the parking lot that I got the nerve up to look at the paper. Trowa. His name was Trowa. But no last name. Just Trowa and the phone number, but at least I know his name.
Well, once I got inside it didn\'t get much better, especially since I told the others that the reason I was late was because I had gotten into a car accident. Of course, since Lena was the reason we came together, then her problems were more pressing. Besides, it wasn\'t as if there was any damage done...
Basically, what we decided upon was for her to forget him, since he wasn\'t worth the time. Heero not Trowa. There\'s no reason that Trowa should have been the subject of conversation, although Duo and Wufei tried to bring him to the forefront. I just kept dismissing it. There really wasn\'t a reason for it, Heero was more important.
Well it\'s time to sleep. I have to work in the morning.
