Bitter Temptations

“Hey Max have you seen Hilary anywhere?” Tyson asked Max as he saw him passing by the Hobby shop.

Max looked up and smiled a greeting to his friend Tyson who was running towards him.

“Uh.. no not since that party a few days ago,” Max shrugged.

“Well we’re going on that cruise soon remember and I just wanted to make sure Hilary knows, if we left her behind she’ll be friggin pissed man,” Tyson chuckled

“Oh yea,” Max chuckled nervously.

“Well that’s ok I’ll just go over to her house and remind her if she doesn’t already know,”

“Yea,” Max mumbled walking back into the shop.

“Hey!” Tyson called.

“Yea?”

“You ok man? I mean you look all down and everything?”

“Yea everything’s alright” ‘No it’s fucking not’

“Well ok then cya around don’t forget we have practice later today too!”

“Sure” Max said forcing a smile.

I can’t tell anyone, I can’t.

Max thought about after that crazy party, that crazy night after he had a few drinks. He just wanted to have a good time with his friends; he knew he should have just gotten a coke instead of the liquor. He didn’t remember much of what happen, all he knew was that he had woken up early the next morning. He awoke right before the sun had begun to come up, lying naked in a bed next to Hilary. She was naked as well, her breasts poking out from under the sheets. He was scared, he didn’t know what had happened, he couldn’t remember much. He quietly got out of bed and slipped on his clothes quickly, then covered Hilary’s naked body up with the sheets.
Max had been terrified after that night, he had a feeling he had done some things he wouldn’t normally do. He wasn’t as reckless as the other guys; he was the quiet chipper one who was pure,innocent and stayed out of trouble until, that night.

‘I just hope I didn’t do what I think I did, I couldn’t have, I know well enough Hilary is Kai’s girl’ Max shuddered. ‘How can I face him, or anyone now, and what about Hilary I don’t think she even remembers’

Hilary was at home in her room chattering away with Ming Ming on the phone.

“Yea I Know tell me about it,”

“That jerk, he had some nerve he came onto me and was pressuring me to make love to him do you believe that,” Ming Ming ranted

“Ug that sucks so much” Hilary responded

“Yea so I kicked him in the shin and was like, screw you and left. I never want to see him again. You gotta be careful with guys Hilary they’ll do anything to take advantage of you,”

“Yea, well I don’t have to worry about that with Kai, I told him I wasn’t ready to get serious just yet and he understands.” Hilary said smiling on the other line twirling the phone cable between her fingers.

“That’s nice, he’s probably one of the few guys that care about something else but ass,”

Both girls giggled and laughed.
That’s when Hilary heard the doorbell.

“I gotta go Ming Ming talk to ya later,” Hilary said quickly then hung up.

She quickly ran downstairs to answer the door.

“Hey Hil,” Tyson grinned.

“Oh hey Tyson what do you want?” Hilary mumbled, disappointed it wasn’t Kai.

“Oh expecting someone else,” Tyson snorted, as if he read her mind.

“What is it?” Hilary asked again

“Just wanted to remind you of our cruise plans,”

“Yea yea I know Tyson bye,” Hilary mumbled beginning to close the door in hid face.

“Uh Hilary,” he said catching the door before she shut it.

“Do you what’s going on with Max, he’s been acting kind of strange lately after that party,”

“Max, hmm I’m not sure I hope he feels better soon, he’s always so chipper,” Hilary frowned.

“Well ok then cya, Hil” Tyson said quickly before she abruptly closed the door in his face.

After the cruise life was all well and peachy for the bey-breakers. One afternoon Hilary and Kai were making out on her sofa.

“Oh Kai you know that I love you,” Hilary said softly as he pressed his warm body against hers, it felt comforting especially since the AC was turned up a bit too high.

“Yes Hilary, I love you too,” Kai whispered back into her ear, sending shivers down her spine as she felt his warm breath. He proceeded to shower kisses down her face and neck making her giggle. She playfully slid her hands up his shirt caressing his back. A pleasurable moan escaped from Kai’s lips; he responded by doing the same up the front of Hilary’s shirt felling her beautiful curved breasts. Hilary gasped a bit at how bold Kai was being but she loved it still. Suddenly they were rudely interrupted by the ringing of the phone.

“Ah shit,” Hilary grumbled.

She quickly eased up and picked up the phone and answered annoyingly to the antonymous caller; who had turned out to dial the wrong number.
Hilary grumbled and started spazzing at the moron who ruined her moment with Kai.

“Hey Hilary,” Kai said calmly.

“Yea Kai,”

“I just want you to know, I’ll wait for you,”

“What?” Hilary asked confusingly.

“I know you’re not comfortable yet. I don’t want to push you Hilary I love you too much,” he said standing up.

“Aww thanks Kai thanks,” Hilary smiled.

“I got to go,” he said pulling her into a final kiss before departing

A few months rolled on by and Hilary started to notice something a bit amiss

“Hey maybe your pregnant, huh? Have you and Kai been getting it on?”

Mariah playfully nudged Hilary.
The girls were having an outing at a café one Saturday afternoon.

“That’s impossible, Kai and I have never… did it before,” Hilary squirmed embarrassingly.

“Come on Hilary you have the symptoms,” Ming Ming chuckled taking a sip of her Pepsi.

“No way I’m still a virgin, I’m telling you guys” she grumbled.

“Yea right, did you take a pregnancy test?”

“I don’t got to take no mother-fucking pregnancy test,” Hilary grumbled again.

“Hilary once you miss your cycle it means your pregnant, no ifs ands or buts about it” Mariah suggested.

“It’s not true,” Hilary uttered.
The girls stopped teasingly her once they saw she started to become visibly shaken and nervous.

“Guys I’m scared I never had sex with anyone before I don’t know how this could be I…” Hilary whispered, her voice trembling a bit.

“It’s ok Hilary let’s go to the doctor and find out for sure,” Ming Ming suggested supportingly placing her hand on Hilary’s.

So Hilary went to the doctor to find out if she was pregnant; and she was. Hilary nearly had a nervous break down. She had never had sex with Kai or anyone before, she had no idea how she got pregnant and troubling yet by who?
She found the courage to call up Kai and ask him to meet up with her, a few weeks after she found out.

“Kai… I got something to tell you,” Hilary started to sobbed.

“What’s wrong Hilary?” he asked slowly proceeding to wrap his arms
around her.

“No don’t touch me Kai!” she screamed shoving him away.

“What’s going on Hilary I.. I don’t understand,” Kai said a bit taken aback, but still calm.

Hilary was sobbing so hard now she was hiccupping and couldn’t speak.
Kai patiently rubbed her back telling her to calm down, and whatever it was he would still love her no matter what.

“Kai.. I don’t know.. I don’t know how…” she sputtered out.

“I’m ..pregnant..” she just said bluntly sobbing louder than ever before.

“Wha… what” Kai said in shock.
Hilary slid down to the floor and hugged her knees not wanting to see Kai’s face.

“I swear Kai I don’t know how it happened, I don’t know I don’t remember anything I’m so confused. I love you and you only, I just.. I just..” Hilary started sputtering out.

After a moment of silence from Kai, and Hilary’s sniffling he said,

“To who?”

“ I .. don’t know I don’t remember anything I swear to you,” Hilary hiccupped.

“Are you telling me the truth Hilary,” Kai said through his clenched teeth.

“I’m telling you I don’t know how it happened I don’t know who the baby’s father is,”

“Well for damn sure it isn’t mine, we never even got that far!” Kai yelled punching the wall with his fist, making a crack in wall and his knuckles bleed a little.

“I think.. maybe I was raped.. or something,”

“What?” Kai muttered angrily.

“They said.. they said.. it happened.. around that time..”

“When..?” Kai growled getting impatient.

“That party we had… I.. I didn’t tell anyone but.. the next morning..

I woke up naked in my bed.. at the hotel.. I didn’t remember anything that night,” Hilary sobbed.

“What!”

“Yes.. and that’s the truth I swear to you Kai.. I know what you must think of me now but… I wouldn’t.. I..”

“If that’s the truth Hilary… I will find that son of bitch . I will find that little fucker and I’ll rip him apart with my bare arms I swear it Hilary!” Kai shouted.

Hilary looked up in shock, she hadn’t expected Kai to take her side; she had expected him to yell and scream and walk right out the door and leave her forever.

“Kai…”

“Hilary.. I love you.. and I believe that you wouldn’t betray me.. I swear if I find the person who did this to you I’ll put a bullet to his head and shot him dead.”

“Hey Max did you hear what happened to Hilary?” Rei asked as he was hanging out at Max’s house.

Rei was casually sitting around at the dining-table as Max took a coke out of the fridge for himself.

“What happened to her?” Max asked.

“She got pregnant,” Ray said bluntly.

Max suddenly dropped the open coke can on the floor and its contents splattered all over his pants and the carpet.

“What the fuck Max!?” Ray yelled in surprise.
Max went completely white as a ghost, shaking a bit for a brief moment.

“Sorry sorry, that’s just a bit of a shock,” Max chuckled sheepishly picking up the can with trembling hands.

“Woah dude, yea you seem *really* surprised,” Ray chuckled a bit taking Max’s overreaction as a joke.
Max tried to hide his fear by chuckling along.

“Ah crap my pants,” Max said.

“Anyways, they think she may have been raped or something at the party, she swears she doesn’t remember anything,”
Max was trying really hard not to freak out and break in front of Ray.

“Really…?” Max muttered.

“Yea.. I heard from Mariah you walked her to the hotel, did anything happen?”

Max was definitely freaking out now; seeing flashbacks of Hilary lying in the bed naked next to him, it couldn’t be true, it couldn’t, could it?

“Ye.. yea I walked with her but I dropped her off at the hotel and that was it and I went to bed, I think I don’t really remember much.”
Max lied slightly, he knew damn straight what had happen, but at the same time he didn’t.

“Hmm that’s odd, I hope Hilary and Kai work everything out, they’re such a nice couple,” Ray said thoughtfully.

“What about the baby?” Max asked nervously.

“Oh I’m not sure I think they’re thinking of aborting it. Since it’s not Kai’s and they don’t know who the ..Max… MAX!?” Ray yelled as the blonde passed out and fell on coke stained the floor; the news was too much for Max he couldn’t hold up.

“Oh shit.. Max! Max! Answer me are you ok?!.. Max……..me……ok…..please…….” that was the last thing Max heard.

Max’s POV

What have I done, I don’t understand. Everything is just happening so fast I can’t… can’t tell anyone about it. That I slept with Hilary… how could I.. I don’t remember anything that night… I had too much to drink like the others.. why wasn’t I able to control myself… who started it? Me or Hilary… maybe I did rape Hilary and didn’t know it? I’m so sorry Hilary.. what am I going to do… Max think what are you going to do… The only thing you could do, own up to your responsibilities. When my mother got pregnant with me I don’t think she was ready to have me either, she wasn’t in a good position to take care of me; but she had me anyway because my father insisted that he’d take of me, I don’t know what I’d do without him. If this baby is mine I need to take it in, like my father took me in. I need to go confess to Hilary and insist that she have the baby then I’ll take the baby and take care of it. I don’t know how, but I will. I will.

“Hilary stop wait!” Max yelled as he called out for Hilary’s attention as she casually walked down the street.

“Hi Max,” she smiled.
Max panted heavily trying to catch his breath.

“Woah Max slow down what’s going on?”

“Hilary you can’t abort the baby!” he said quickly grabbing Hilary’s shoulders.

“What?”

“You can’t abort the baby,”

“Max I just came from the clinic.. you’re too late...”
