Birthday Cake: Review Responses

Hey!

I love the changes to AAF, particularly that authors get email notification when a story has been
reviewed. Now if they can only give us the ability to respond to those reviews... This will have to
do for now, ‘K?

First off - thanks, thanks, thanks! to everyone who has read and commented on this series. It
started as such a lark, but has pretty much eaten my brain in the process, which is not necessarily
a bad thing. <g> I’ve really enjoyed writing it and I’m glad people have enjoyed reading it. (Oh,
and Happy Birthday (again!), to Rachel!!!) There’s still the second half of this story to go (well,
the last fourth, anyway) and in my head (if you could see it) it’s really... um, quite hot... (fans self
with handy newspaper...) Aaaanyway, I hope to get the hot down on paper soon and post it. Just
thought this was a good spot to break and I wanted to know what people thought and if I was on
the right track with it. I myself have had a hard time envisioning Top Ed... I think I’ve got it, but
you’ll have to be the judge of that.

Koneko =^.^= <- I love that!!: Well, I took your advice and decided, after a year’s pondering, to
try my hand at writing the lemon myself. (Yow!!) That it inspired such pun-acy from you means
it must be working. <g> So glad that (so far!) it’s not disappointing you! If you could (taps
cranium) only see what’s swimming around up here... <snerk!> Man, I hope I can live up to my
own hype! :-) Thanks again for reviewing (again)!

The Yaoi Ninja: So sorry!! I don’t mean to be a tease!! Really, I don’t! I’m just so... slow...
Honestly, I can fine tooth comb the same paragraph for days. <sigh> It’s a curse... And then I
have to do the whole method “acting” style of writing where I ponder the motivation for every
emotion and action. (“What is Roy thinking here?”) Honestly, if I were a film director, my
movies would take years to finish production. (So, I guess it’s good that I’m not, eh?) Thanks for
the awesome compliment and I hope the ending doesn’t disappoint... (Or the length of time it
takes to get there.)

MustangsHavoc: No, dear, I’m not trying to kill you, per se... I’m tryin’... I’m tryin’ to give you a
happy. (How’m I doin?) <g> I’m rather thrilled that you got from this part what I was hoping you
would - the tangibility of it. I try to write with enough detail to give you the feeling that you’re
there - you can see it, hear it, feel it, (and if it’s about food) smell and taste it. A yaoi voyeur, is it
were... (Hmmm, if only that were possible...) Mostly I’m just trying to make it real for myself.

Bagel: Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! (And my English teacher sister would be happy to
hear that all her grammar bullying - from when I was a kid - has paid off! She was a <shiver>
meeean teacher... ;-) She couldn’t hear my punctuation deficiencies as I spoke so, sadly, I kinda
sort of weak there...) Hope you’re liking where I’m going with this. (When I get there, that is.
<g> )

JungleBunny: Hope you’re still smiling! (And I’ve kept your “ten minutes well spent” comment
in the back of my head and I must say, I’m still in awe. I guess I read slow... (ibshafer’s sister:
“slowLY, Irene!!!”) I’ve tried reading it in ten minutes and I just can’t do it... :-( ) You also
pointed out something I wasn’t consciously doing and I’ve tried to continue it - that love/lust fine
line dance. It was interesting writing this chapter from Roy’s POV - without which, of course, we
would not get the chance to comment on the beauty that is Edward Elric. (Well, unless he’s
looking in the mirror and feeling particular vain today, which isn’t actually out of the question...)
Thanks again for the great review. It stuck with me.

Rysha and Affie: Hope you guys didn’t catch cold or ‘nuthin’... ‘specially since we’re heading
into cooler weather... Glad it was hot enough for ya. (Was it? Wait! I’m try harder!)
