Chapter 2: The Coming Of Raditz
“Why do you come here?!” Piccolo growled at the armored man
before him. “Wish you to DIE?!” The man’s knee-length, spiky black hair
fluttered in the breeze.
“Well, aren’t you the feisty one?” he chuckled. He poked at the
machine mounted on his ear. Strange characters raced across the screen covering
his left eye. “Still, you’re no match for me.”
“What?! Insolent fool! HYAH!!!” An enormous wave of energy
enveloped the man. “Who‘s laughing NOW, Asshole?” Piccolo sneered. He felt a tap
on his shoulder, and spun around to find the very same man standing before
him.
“A fine display of dust, my man. I shall have to wash my hair.”
Piccolo’s eyes widened in terror. “Allow me to show you a more effective
technique...I call this one, ‘Keep your eyes on the birdie!’” Just then, the
thing on his ear beeped. He turned to the ocean. “Could it be...? Kakkarot?”
With that he lifted off and flew toward Kame House. Piccolo fell to his knees,
panting.
“Such power...” His voice was hoarse with fear. “I’d be
dead...”
*
Kitty!” everyone cried out as
she lit on the sand.
“Oh, it’s YOU.” Bulma snorted. Suddenly, Kitty’s eyes grew wide
in terror. “Huh?”
“Goku...” Kitty whispered. “Something’s
coming...something...BAD...” Goku grew worried. She’d had these premonitions
before, and she’d always been right. Her pale eyes faded back to normal.
“Gohan!” Her sudden change of mood startled the others. “Last time I saw you,
you were still nursing!”
“What’s that?” Gohan whispered in his daddy’s ear.
“No clue. She still hasn’t told ME, and it’s been over thirteen
years.” Goku pouted. Krillin blushed. Goku set his son on the ground and gave
him a gentle shove. “Squirt, this is your Aunt Kitty...she practically raised
me.” Gohan gave a sheepish grin.
“H...Hello.”
“I seem to have lost track of time while searching for that
monster, Piccolo. How old are you?” He held up five fingers. “Four!” Everyone
laughed. Kitty looked around.
“Where’s Launch Kushami?” she asked.
“Oh, she went chasing after Tien Shinhan years ago.” Roshi
answered.
“And Tien?”
“He’s running.”
“Yamcha?”
“Who cares?!” Bulma fumed. Kitty knew better than to pry. She
knew that Bulma was no more than a jealous bitch, who was obviously still upset
that Yamcha had chosen Faylene’s sister Mystyasia over her.
“So how about Oolong?”
“He’s in jail.” Roshi grinned. “Sexual harassment.” All at
once, Goku, Kitty, and Krillin spun to face the ocean.
“He’s coming...” Kitty murmured, holding Gohan close. “I know
it’s him.”
“Who?” Goku asked. Just then a large, muscular man lit on the
sand. He had masses of black, spiky hair to his knees, and red cloth bands
around his upper left arm and thigh. His eyes were a piercing black, and hateful
above the sneer he wore. Krillin stepped forward.
“Look bud, this is a private island. Shoo.” A long furry brown
tail lashed out from around his waist and caught the short man right in the
face. Krillin was buried in the side of the house. While the others gaped, Kitty
strolled over behind the strange man and put a hand on his shoulder.
“Raditz...” she purred. “I haven’t seen you since the nursery.”
Her tail twined about his in a way that made the others retch. “Kakkarot failed
despite my help. Come. You’re tired; I can tell. Come to my house and have a
drink and some rest before you kill him.” Raditz stared at Goku as she said
this, sending chills up his spine.
“That sounds wonderful, Miss...”
“Just call me Kittel.” With that, they took off in the
direction of the river Diablo. Had Kitty shown her evil side?
“I always knew she couldn’t be trusted!” Bulma huffed. All the
while, Piccolo stood in the shadows, clenching his fists in disgust at what he
was about to do. “Gohan, honey, you should...GOHAN?!” The boy was gone. They’d
taken him.
