Chapter eighteen;

Dinner and Dancing


”I am banned from their house.” She said with a sadness she desperately tried to hide from her voice.
“I’m sorry to hear that,” Zechs moved away from the door and let her into his home. “We’re just started with dinner. Would you like to join us?”
“Yes, please.” Sally smiled. “I would love that.” She said as she stepped inside, closing the door after herself.

Then she stopped right in her tracks and looked up at the tall blond.

“What happened? I always got the impression that you liked to get rid of me as soon as possible,” She commented with a laugh.
“Well, people change.”
“Oh, really?”

Zechs let out a chuckled. “No, well, I’m just in a very, very good mode today. That’s all.”

“It’s a long story.” He quickly added before Sally would ask exactly why he was in such a good mode.
“I won’t ask then, do you need any help?”
“Help?”
“Yes, with dinner?”
“Oh no, Wufei and I are managing perfectly.” He smiled in remembrance. “But you could go and get yourself a chair, unless you rather stand.
“I think I’ll go search for that chair.”

Zechs sighed as he entered the small kitchen area.

Wufei hadn’t moved since he had left him sitting there on the counter, whit the same look on his face.

He walked straight to his small china doll, who was so deep in thought that he didn’t noticed the other man’s approch.

“Wufei?” He asked gently.
“Aaa..”
“Are you okay?”

The Chinese blinked up at him, then frowned. “Yes.”

Zechs chuckled at his childness, and encircled his lovely chinaman with his arms.

“Come on, we have a table to set before Sally brings back that chair or she’s gonna do everything for us.” He pulled the small agent down from the countertop, careful not to let him go before he knew that he wouldn’t fall on his nose as soon as his hands left his warm body.

Which was not soon enough according to Wufei. His feet had barley touched the floor before he tried to pull Zechs’s arms away.

The blond man laughed silently and let his hands slide from the young one’s waist

“Do you think you can handle setting the table?” Zechs asked as he turned his back on him, waiting for a response from his little china doll before he opened the cabinets filled with plates and cups.

“Of course I can handle that!” A very feminine, and not ‘Wufei’ like voice answered right in front of him.

With Sally’s help the table was set in no-time, a shame actually because Zechs had looked forward to see his little chinaman try and place the plates in front of each chair, with it’s silverware next to it and then the wineglasses...

Maybe the boy could do it tomorrow. They did have to eat then too, didn’t they?

He smiled.

Of course they had to eat tomorrow.

Unless they went out, but he hardly thought that Wufei would enjoy that. Not in his current state anyway.

Parhaps they should wait until he could walk without trouble before they went out.

Maybe they could go dancing then too. He smiled. Yes, he could really picture them on the dance floor, close, his china doll’s head leaned against his chest with a small smile plastered on those kissable lips as his hands wandered-

“There all done! Let’s eat, I’m starving.”

“What?” Zechs said, drawn from his daydreaming.
“Foood.” Wufei answered with a scowl. He wasn’t as hungry as he wanted the woman to leave so he could get his mind straighten out. Because whenever he had the time to think about what was actually happening she came clamping in, making him even more confused about himself.

He did like the kisses, and he really didn’t mind to lay spooned with the blond at night. The man had a nice body, warm... But he couldn’t picture them in bed, together. He even had to wrinkle his nose at that. It just couldn’t happen...

“Ah, wait.” Zechs mumbled and hurried to get everything on the table.

Before Zechs sat down he poured some food on Wufei’s plate, telling him what it was. He almost sighed, he could feel how Sally’s eyes was boring into him.

“You’re scaring me Zechs, this isn’t like you at all.”
“I told you I was in a good mode, didn’t I?”

Sally laughed, and hit her head against the wall behind her. “Oouh, Zechs, have you ever considered to get a bigger place?” She asked lightheartedly as she rubbed at her sore skull. “This place really is too small for two.”
“I don’t hear Wufei complaining. And he lives here.”
“Oh, I didn’t know that the two of you got together!” She laughed, and Wufei almost fell out of his chair.

The woman really didn’t know what one could joke about!

“I do wonder who’s on top...” She pondered aloud with a grin on her face.
“Me of course.” Zechs answered proudly and pulled Wufei from his chair and into his lap.
“No!” Wufei said harshly and pushed away from the blond, falling to the floor. “Don jooke ‘bout-”
“I’m sorry,” Zechs said as he helped him to his feet. “But Sally started it, I just couldn’t let her have the last word.”
“...”
“’Fei, come on, you know me!” Sally said as she rose to give him a hug. “I would never joke about you! Not like that! I know you would be the one topping Zechs,” She leaned down to whisper in his ear. “And between you and me, I don’t think he really knows how to do it.”

Wufei blushed.

Zechs laughed.

“I’ll have you know that I am a excellent lover.” He smiled as he encircled his arms around his little china doll. “An A++ student, actually.” He whispered huskily.

Wufei didn’t know his face could turn that red that fast.

This time Sally laughed.

“Come on, I’m hungry.”

Maybe Zechs was the right person for this job. If anybody else had whispered that into Wufei’s ear, with the innuendo hanging over him he would have been dead seconds later.

And Zechs was still breathing.

Maybe they had made friends with each other?

Her smile grew.

She never thought she would live to see the day when Wufei made a friend!
