A/N: Ugh, curse myself. I thought I posted this chapter already. :/ I know I’ve had it finished for a long time now. Crapola. Well, it’s posted now. >.> Apologies for keeping you all waiting. I am determined to finish this, I just don’t have a plan in how I’m going to do that. Well hopefully this works.Vegeta woke again with a shout. He panted for air as his heart rate slowed down to its normal thumping and looked around the room. “Vegeta?” A soft voice asked next to him.The young noble quickly looked to his side and noticed that his beloved was awake. “Oh, Kakarot! You’re awake!” He leaned over and kissed him passionately, then looked over his body for any other wounds that weren’t there before.“Are you okay?” Kakarot asked with worry while he watched his love worry over his being.Vegeta sighed as he looked at Kakarot. “I am now. Are you feeling alright? Are you in any pain? Are you hungry? Thirsty? Do you need anything?” He asked in a worried tone.Kakarot’s expression became more concerned as he placed a finger on Vegeta’s lips to quiet his worries. “I’m fine, for now. I don’t need anything, thank you. But I wouldn’t mind using the restroom.” He smiled slightly.Vegeta smiled back at the statement. “Of course.” He moved to get off of him and watched Kakarot struggle as he sat up, then moved to sit on the bed. “Do you need any help?”He shook his head. “No, I think I can manage.” Kakarot held back a groan as he used his legs to help him stand, then staggered a little as he kept his balance.Vegeta got out of bed and went around to stand in front of his beloved, with his hands hovering over his body. “Are you sure?”Kakarot placed a hand on Vegeta’s shoulder and smiled. “Yes. Don’t worry. I need to get used to walking on my own if I’m going to get any better.” Vegeta nodded mutely as he watched Kakarot edge his way around the bed and made it to the restroom.Vegeta sighed with worry as he sat on the edge of the bed. He placed his head in his hands as he tried to get the horrible images of his recent nightmare out of his mind. Why did they keep occurring? And why did they all consist of Kakarot getting hurt or killed? Could it be that’s he’s worried about what will happen to him? Or…could they be of…what will happen? He shook his head, clearing the last question out of his mind. Ridiculous. Of course he was worried about Kakarot. The man faced death every day. Why should their upcoming battle be any different? They must get rid of Akuto soon. Vegeta didn’t know how much more Kakarot could take…how much he could take…Kakarot returned from the restroom, only to come to the awful site of his beloved’s stressed state. He sat down next to him and wrapped an arm around his shoulders. “Vegeta, don’t worry. Everything will turn out alright, you’ll see. I’m sure your father will come up with a good plan and we’ll end it all.” He spoke in a comforting tone as Vegeta wrapped both of his arms around him. Kakarot winced slightly at the pressure, but didn’t voice his pain since he wanted to comfort Vegeta and not make him worry more.“I can’t help, but worry. Things haven’t gone right since we were born. What makes you think they will now?” Vegeta held back the worry and sadness in his voice as a dead tone took place instead.Kakarot gently pushed Vegeta away from him and held him at arm’s length. “Because it’s gone on for too long. Akuto’s been getting his way because he’s been planning for most of his life. Now, the answers are right in front of us. All we have to do is find the right one and put it into action. Meanwhile, we have to be brave as we do so. Akuto is only human. He’s just done a lot of bad things in life that make him seem powerful. And…so what if he has minions to do his dirty work…so do we. We just need to find out how to put them in use. Not only that, but we have to use every dirty trick in the book to get rid of this guy. After all, that’s what he’s been doing. We can do this, Vegeta. You just have to put your trust into your father and into me.” He looked him in the eye, waiting for an approving response to his words.Vegeta looked into those trusting and brave eyes for a moment before he nodded. “Right. Alright, Kakarot.” He then turned his attention to the wounds on his beloved. “How are your injuries? Shall I get the doctor?”“No, no. I think I’ll be fine. I just need more time to heal is all.” Kakarot reassured.“Then, how about food?” Vegeta urged, wanting his warrior to be comfortable.Kakarot stared at the concern in his beloved’s eyes before smiling. “Food would be nice.”Vegeta smiled in return and stood. “Great. I’ll be right back. Just lie down and rest until I do.”Kakarot tried not to chuckle at Vegeta’s worried tone, like a mother, and did what he was told. “I will.”Vegeta seemed comforted by Kakarot’s answer and left.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Meanwhile, at the Hara mansion, Lord Hokoru decided to visit with Koga for the day, but that wasn’t the real reason why he came to visit. His real reason for being there was so he can get rid of Akuto on his own. His son and Kakarot have been through enough and it was time to put all this to an end, but his plan isn’t one hundred percent ideal. It can go either way, meaning that he could get killed in the process. When he arrived at the mansion, Koga didn’t even question his arrival when he explained that he wanted to know any other plans considering the ceremony. However, Akuto threw glances of suspicion his way, but said nothing as he joined the two nobles’ company.“At first, we weren’t sure on how to decorate the garden, since the statues are something that all nobles use in ceremony’s such as this. Since this is more than such an occasion we decided to…” Koga rambled on as Hokoru tuned him out and watched Akuto from the corner of his eye. Both nobles stared at each other with suspicion, but one of them had more of a determined expression. Koga paused in his explanation when he realized that Hokoru wasn’t paying any attention to him and looked between the two before getting an idea. “Perhaps Akuto could explain the rest to you. I’m sure you two would like to catch up as much as you can before departing after the ceremony.”Hokoru didn’t take his eyes off the other. “Actually, that’s a great idea. I’ve been meaning to go over something with him anyway.”Koga smiled and nodded in understanding. “I’ll leave you two alone then.” With that he left them alone in the main lounge area. After a few moments of silence, Hokoru broke eye contact and stood from his seat. “Shall we walk?” Not waiting for an answer, he turned his back towards the other and headed for one of the main halls.Akuto narrowed his eyes in suspicion and followed. Once he caught up with him, he walked closely beside him with a sly smile. “Now you have time for me, huh? Is that what this is about?” When Hokoru didn’t answer, he got in his path and placed an arm in his line of vision and against the wall; blocking his way. “Or is it something else?”Hokoru stopped abruptly then looked to the side with a frown. “I don’t know what you mean.”Akuto leaned in closer with a mischievous smile. “Yes you do. There’s no way you changed your mind. You wouldn’t do it then and you’re not going to do it now. So, tell me the real reason you’re here to see me? Is it about the samurai? Or your supposed mystery man with possible information about said samurai?” The noble was practically in the other’s face. Hokoru had to lean back a bit to get some space, but Akuto wasn’t having that and pushed the other against the wall. Hokoru tried to remain calm as Akuto leaned towards his ear. “I really should see you more often, Hokoru. It seems I’ve forgotten how crafty you can be. My brother thought he was crafty too and look what happened to him. Be careful where you tread my dear Hokoru. You might find something you won’t like.”Hokoru began to panic with every passing word. Now…should he do it now? No. The moment doesn’t feel right. Wait just a little bit longer. After a moment, he found his words. “Why are you here, Akuto? It appears I’ve forgotten how crafty ‘you’ can be.”Akuto leaned back a bit to look at the other and smirked. “You know why.”Hokoru gulped inaudibly. “And what will that accomplish?”The other lifted a hand to trace Hokoru’s features, memorizing every line and curve. “My dear, you know the answer to that as well. The real question is, how are you going to help me get it?”Hokoru leaned away from the other’s touches, but they didn’t leave him. “What’s in it for me?”Akuto paused his movements and leaned closer. “What do you want?”The other hesitated before pulling out a hidden knife tucked behind his robes and swiftly moved it to stab the other in the neck, but failed to reach its target as Akuto grabbed a hold of his arm and slammed it against the wall. Akuto’s smirk became dark. “I see. So that’s your answer.” Hokoru grunted at the movement and groaned when pressure was added to it, making him drop the knife. He tried kneeing the other in the gut, but it too was grabbed before it did any harm. Akuto held the other at the back of his knee before moving it to the side; making himself more comfortable against the other. Hokoru leaned away as Akuto attempted to kiss him, but instead whispered in his ear. “I think it’s about time I stopped pursuing you and just made you mine.” Hokoru tried moving his knee, but to no avail. How was he so strong? “After all, my brother isn’t here to stop me this time.”Hokoru used his other arm to punch Akuto, however, it too was caught. “Let go of me.” He said threateningly.“Never.” Akuto said lustfully and kissed him.Hokoru tried turning his head, but Akuto just followed. He tried moving anything. His arms, legs…none of them would budge. There’s no way this man was that strong. He decided to go for a different tactic and bit down on the other’s lip drawing blood. Akuto made a gasp of protest and pulled away. Hokoru took that opportunity to free himself and put some distance between them. He eyed the knife on the floor, that was right next to Akuto, then back to the person of his hatred. Akuto wiped at the blood and stared at it, then glared at Hokoru. “It’s been a long time since I’ve seen my own blood. The last time, it was your lover that brought it out of me.” He advanced towards the other who backed up then swiftly brought out another knife and jumped forward, successfully cutting the other’s sleeve. Akuto backed up in surprise and looked at the damage. A shallow cut showed itself on his arm as he smirked at the other. “Once again, I have to remind myself in how crafty you are. It’s one of the things I admire about you.” He brought out a blade of his own and took a ready stance.Hokoru eyed the blade then the enemy before him. “I thought nothing about you could surprise me anymore. Looks like I was wrong.”Akuto’s smirk widened before he lunged forward.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~“Damn it! Why is this so hard?! The bastard might not look it, but he’s quite crafty.” Vegeta gave Kakarot a pointed stare before he continued pacing his room.Kakarot gave Vegeta a concerned look. “I know. Nothing’s easy, but everything has a weak point.”“Not this asshole.” Vegeta growled as he continued pacing. They have spent their whole day trying to come up with a plan to rid of their enemy, but so far, no such luck. Where was his father? Wasn’t he supposed to be helping them? Every day the bastard breathes is more of a risk. Just like if they stay in one place for too long. Sooner or later, he’s going to find out that Kakarot is here. Getting frustrated and feeling hopeless at their situation, Vegeta sat next to his wounded lover on his bed and reached up to stroke his hair. “Maybe we should just run. It’s apparent that there’s nothing more we can do here. We should flee while we can.” Vegeta begged.Kakarot took a hold of the hand resting on his cheek. “No. We can’t flee. This might be our only chance to weaken him. We have to at least try.”“But how, Kakarot? He knows where you are. I wouldn’t be surprised if he knew that I know everything already. It’s hopeless.” The noble looked down in his misery.Kakarot leaned his forehead against his lover’s and lifted his chin to look at him. “You can’t think like that. Soon the moment will be right for us to act. Be strong. We can do this.” With that, he kissed his love passionately. Vegeta relished in the kiss before his warrior reluctantly pulled away. “We’ll just wait for your father to return. Then we’ll come up with something.” Kakarot stroked Vegeta’s hair in return.Vegeta could only nod. “I hope you’re right.”~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Akuto hummed to himself as he walked down the hall and made his way through the main lounge area. On his walk, Ookami advanced towards him with red staining his noble clothing and a maniacal grin plastered on his face. When they stopped a few feet away from each other, Akuto realized what the substance was on the other’s clothing and rolled his eyes. “You killed him already?”Ookami’s deranged grin turned to a pout. “Of course. I figured with Hokoru coming over here looking for a fight was the sign.”Akuto sighed. “I’ll admit; I wasn’t expecting him to find out so soon. Everything is getting out of hand way too quickly.”Ookami raised a brow. “What do you mean? This was our plan. Once the Hokoru’s find out everything, we get rid of the ones who will be in our way and take those we want.”“And just who is going to wed you and Vegeta together? A mass of corpses?” Akuto crossed his arms and narrowed his eyes at the younger, who faltered at the question. He growled. “I should’ve known you were going to screw something up.”Ookami huffed. “Well what were you planning on doing with Hokoru? Keep him locked up until the ceremony? Someone’s going to find out he’s missing soon.”Akuto growled and began to raise his voice. “He said he was going away on business! Don’t you pay attention to anything?!”Ookami growled and shouted in return. “That plan isn’t exactly fool proof! The one’s he was going to see would know that he didn’t arrive, let alone the guards knowing that he never left!”Akuto was about to retaliate when they heard footsteps coming from the main hall. “You better get rid of the evidence if you don’t want to go to prison for murder.”Ookami narrowed his eyes at the older noble before doing what he was told and quickly fled the room. A moment later, a group of Koga’s guards appeared and stopped once they noticed Akuto. They bowed respectfully and stood before one spoke. “My Lord, I’m afraid something terrible has happened.”~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yeah, I’m rushing it. Can’t you tell? Right now I’m just kinda wanting to finish it. Only one more chapter to go and it’s done. Hope it’s not crap. :/
