Chapter
22
Come the Monday morning,
they were all there, half an hour earlier than they needed
to be to start work. All of them summoned to
Heero’s office, all of them with loaded guns and
Wufei had indeed
brought along his sword. All there to drag their friend out of his
misery. All five of them, them against Doctor J;
and Heero couldn’t deny that he was moved by their concerns.
The tension was almost
mind-blowing, especially for Heero. Their heartbeats seemed to echo through the
room in a crazy cacophony of vibrating sounds. In spite of Duo’s consoling and
supportive words from the other day and his
encouragement to really go through with this, Heero was immensely nervous. In
fact, he was nothing more than a trembling mass of flesh and blood coiled up in
Duo’s arms right there on the carpet of his office. Duo couldn't believe how someone who had faced hundreds, no, thousands
of Mobile Suits, Leo’s, Aries and the like,
could be so afraid of one man.
“Heero, would you calm down?
You’re trembling so hard, your limbs are gonna fall right off. It’s not good to
be so nervous all the time,” Duo said in an attempt to lighten
the tense atmosphere a bit. He gently took Heero’s
chin between his thumb and index finger and gave him a tender kiss. “I love
you, Heero. And I’m sick of hiding that from
people. I want to marry…” Shut your trap!
There, he had almost said it. Not yet!
“I want to merrily be happy with you.” That was a weird sentence. Nice save, Duo.
“I love you too, Duo. But
what if someone finds out?”
“No one will find out. He
has no friends and family. No one will miss him.”
“Alright. If you say so,”
Heero sighed, leaning against his partner. For a few moments he was quiet, but
then Duo felt him fidgeting again. “Duo? What do you think is the most
beautiful thing?” he said with a touch of melancholy.
“What do you mean?”
“You know, something that
really makes your heart race, something that
moves you.”
Duo looked up in thought and
at once a dreamy, somewhat impish grin appeared on his face. “Waking up next to
you after a long, exhausting night of wild, hot sex,” he smiled.
“Good,” Heero smiled back at
him. “Never forget that. Memories are precious.”
“Heero, you’re still acting
like you’re gonna die. Stop brooding on it, okay? Look, Heidi’s standing by the
window to see when Doctor J arrives. The moment she spots him, she’ll hurry
over to the others and wait for him to come in.
They will stay close to the wall, but I’m sure that he will be so lost in his
own fury that he won’t even notice them; and then
it'll be just like I said.”
Heero smiled at him,
reaching his hand up to run his fingers thankfully through his soft hair and
leaned forward to kiss him again.
Those eyes, Heero’s
beautiful blue eyes, they looked so sad. Duo liked them better when they were
smiling, beaming, shining like the sun. Come
on Heero, make those eyes smile for me again.
Heero’s kiss turned out a
bit deeper and more passionate than the last time, causing Duo to moan
slightly.
“Oh my God, they’re gonna do
it right here. Avert your eyes everyone,” Quatre joked.
Duo reached up to Heero’s
desk, grabbing for whatever he could get a hold of that wasn’t too heavy, and
tossed the object at Quatre with a well-aimed
throw.
“Aw! That hurt, dammit!” the
little blonde scolded, picking up what had turned out to be a green marker and
throwing it back to the two still huddled together on the ground. “Thought you were only going to simulate.”
“We weren’t doing it yet,
were we? It was only a kiss,” Duo retorted.
“Bet it was enough to get
you a hard-on, though,” Quatre smirked, eying a
distinct bulge forming between Duo’s legs. “People might start thinking you
were actually born with it.”
“Oh, look who’s talking,”
Heero joined in on the discussion. “If I were to
start counting all the times you and Trowa used
your office as a bedroom, I would still be sitting here next year! Or were you
just simulating too?”
“Hey, no fair! I’m sure that
if Doctor J wasn't bothering you, you two would
do that as well!”
“Sure as hell,” Duo
sniggered. “Hey, I know something! Starting tomorrow, were gonna try and outdo
each other, alright?”
“Deal!” Quatre cried.
“Are you guys done acting
stupid?” Heidi suddenly said from the window.
“He’s coming?” Duo said,
jerking his head around.
“Yes,” Heidi said, bouncing
to the door to await the little alert sound from the elevator and his heavy,
recognizable footsteps.
“Alright, time for some
action here,” Duo grinned, rubbing his hands together at the prospect of a good
riot. “Heero, don’t do anything unless I say so. It will all be perfect.”
Duo watched Heidi closely, waiting for her to motion that Doctor J was
approaching. It seemed to take forever. Next to him, he could feel the heart of
the boy clutched against him thundering in his chest. Or was it his own
heartbeat?
“Duo,” Heidi whispered. “He’s
here.”
“Okay, Heero, show time. Now, scream my name.”
But the young Preventer was paralyzed by
his fear and didn’t react, only stared with big, terrified Prussian orbs at the door.
“Heero, come on now,” Duo
said urgently. “Scream, moan, do *something*!”
Still there was no reaction,
and Duo couldn’t think of anything else other than
to start making real advanced towards him.
“Heero!” he hissed. He
sneaked his hand between Heero’s legs and gave a good squeeze, making him snap
out of his momentary trance and finally throwing his head back.
“Ah Duo…” Heero moaned.
“Yes,
Heero, that’s good,” Duo groaned, both in an encouraging and provocative way.
“Nnh… Heero, yeah… right
there.” He knew that Heero was too afraid to play along, so he had no other
choice than to arouse him for real and nibble along his neck, eliciting the
necessary moans from him.
Sure enough, it had the
effect he had wished for. The door burst open, and from that moment on, it
seemed to Heero that everything happened in a rush, a haze. For a moment, he
thought he was in the middle of a movie. Wufei
tackled Doctor J’s feet with the hilt of his sword so that
the man tripped and fell, face forward to
the ground. The four others leapt from their places, allowing Duo to first rip off his coat, then hold him in an iron grip, Trowa clamping down on his
wrists and Wufei pressing his entire weight onto Doctor J’s legs. In spite of
the threatening barrels pressed at each side of his head, he squirmed and
grunted wildly, mostly out of frenzy instead of fear. The two former pilots
holding him could barely keep him in place and were starting to lose strength.
“Duo, what the fucking hell
is taking you so long to find those friggin’ tranquilizers?!”
Wufei panted, straining to keep the wriggling legs pinned to the ground.
“Hold on, Wufei. There’s a
lot of stuff in here, I can’t find them,” Duo said, groping around in the
numerous pockets. “But I know they’re here somewhere. They must be. Surely, he
wouldn’t go anywhere without them, they’re a part of his gruesome stock. He’s
defenseless without them. Nothing, nothing at
all. Just an old, rambling fool who should probably be in a mental home. Yeah,
that’s where he…”
“Duo, would you quit the
fucking monologue and find those tranquilizers!”
Trowa snapped, his muscles aching from the constant tension.
“Here they are!” Duo
suddenly cried in triumph, holding up a box with a series of syringes. He
quickly pulled one of the needles out of the box, removed the protective cap and thrust it
into Doctor J’s neck, right in his spinal column, like the box said. An unequaled cursing, a panting sound, wheezing
breaths. Silence.
The world was turned upside
down for Heero. The tables were being turned so drastically, that he never imagined it possible. Footsteps tripped
hastily back and forth, voices shouted busily to each
other. But Heero stayed on the ground. He just watched.
He detached himself from everything. Life, Duo, his friends, the world turned
upside down. He inhaled chaos, exhaled peace. He looked, only looked at Doctor
J, hoisted up by two of the boys and carried out of the door, Duo taking the
lead. Careful that no one could see them. So
helpless he was now, left to their mercy. Mercy he wouldn’t get. One can bear
the unbearable for a long time, strain himself for a long time. Until one says “I’ve
reached the end. I give up.” Until one reaches the breaking point. Heero had
reached that breaking point. Mercy was out of the question.
Don’t be afraid. It will all
be alright. It will all be alright my
ass! Heero thought sullenly. It had almost turned out to be a massacre. If
Duo could read his thoughts, he probably would’ve said: “Heero, you’re
overreacting again.” Still, that’s just the way it was. While Duo was on his
desperate search for the tranquilizers, Heero
was practically bathing in cold sweat. The way Doctor J was struggling to get
free and the blazing expression on his face, transfixed upon the petrified boy…
Heero had almost felt his eyes piercing through his thick glasses and burning
two scorching holes in his very soul. The moment he would’ve managed to free
himself, all would’ve happened so fast. His mighty strong hand would’ve
enclosed Heero’s neck in the wink of an eye and no gun would’ve been fast
enough to prevent the old man from snapping Heero’s neck first. He knew that,
he knew Doctor J. Only now, after more than half an hour since the ambush, did he start to feel calm enough to allow a certain
kind of comfort seep into his heart. He felt his conscience stirring. He thought
about his youth, about the things Doctor J had made him do. He thought about
Duo, the absurd prohibition to love him. He kept on thinking, until he didn’t
want to think any longer. But he couldn’t stop thinking, he couldn’t just
switch a button in his head and shoot him in cold
blood. Was what he was about to do the right thing? Was it justified to kill the man? Yes or no? He didn’t know the answer. There
was no answer. Yes, he has hurt you a lot. No, don’t turn into the monster he
is. Yes, he doesn’t deserve to live. No, killing out of revenge is wrong. A
human life has more value than that. You don’t use a human life to cool your
personal anger on. Yes! The decisive yes: Heero, look at them. Look at Duo. He
loves you. Trowa, Quatre, Wufei. They all love you. For you they have made themselves accessories
to murder. Doctor J has taken everything from you. Happiness, love, your
emotions. If you don’t go through with this, Heero, then he will take Duo from
you as well.
His conscience had spoken.
No,
don’t take Duo away from me. I won’t let you.
For once, Doctor J, it is I who will forbid you something.
The view of Doctor J lying
there on that dreaded table with his one wrist clasped in an iron clip, his two
ankles also and a tinier one for the iron
construction that had to replace his other hand gave him such satisfaction.
“See Heero? That’s why it
took so long before we could do this. I had to make a few re-adjustments,” Duo chirped merrily while he was tying
up the limp body of the old man. His carefree behavior
was almost creepy, the pleasure he found in the prospect of torturing Doctor J
almost sickening to outsiders, but not to Heero. He felt cheerful, the kind of
cheerfulness no one could understand. He would be free, finally.
“Look, our sleeping beauty
is waking up!” Quatre suddenly said. His comment was welcomed by mocking
sniggers from all of them.
Doctor J slowly pried his
eyes open, above him six grinning faces, eyes bent on revenge. He turned his
head wildly about him to see his environment and grunted fiercely at the
humiliation of it the moment he realized where he was and moreover, the state he was
in now. Discarded from his clothes, except for his underwear, his gray eyes for the first time visible to all of them, his abilities to move extremely
restricted.
“Doctor J…” Duo said slowly,
his voice dangerously hovering somewhere between a threatening tone and a
maniacal laugh. “So good of you to join us again.”
“Heero,” Doctor J said with
a quivering voice, looking at his pupil with pleading eyes and seemingly
thinking that he too was a victim of Duo’s evil plan. “Help me. Get me out of
here. You were always such a good student, always so obedient. So then, listen
to me now and unfasten me.”
“Quiet, old man!” Duo
snapped.
“Doctor J, you don’t have to
work on my emotions,” Heero almost growled. “I don’t have any, remember? Emotions?
You took them away.” He moved away from the
table, took the key from Duo who had already fished it out of the white coat,
that same key to activate that gruesome machine, and slowly made his way to the
ignition. Oh yeah, he would torture him.
“Has it never occurred to
you, that if I could kill anyone at all, *anyone*, that I might as well kill
you? Probably thought that I was too afraid to do that, and it’s true, I was
too afraid; because
I'd already had to endure too much pain,
mentally and physically. You didn’t only punish me when I showed any emotion or
tried to work against you, but at length you punished me for the tiniest,
littlest thing. But now, now you are tied up, defenseless
and I know all too well that hurting someone who’s
defenseless holds no honor,
but I don’t care, because it’s you, and you are a serious pain in the ass. So
then, Doctor J, let’s see if I can put those
little theories of yours into practice.” Almost
solemnly, he stuck the key in the ignition and pulled the handle down, highly
enjoying the fact that the tables were now turned
and he could finally pay him back with his own invention. Those pained screams, hearing them brought
him fulfillment. That jerking body, seeing it
made him feel satisfied. But it wasn’t his purpose to kill him just yet, just a
little taste of what Heero had experienced far
too much.
“You will probably blame Duo
for this,” Heero said the moment it was quiet again, and walking back to his
lover he wrapped
an arm around his shoulders, using Duo as an
anchor in this crazy deluge of emotions. “If I had never met him, then maybe I
would still be inhuman; and yes, Duo *has* made
me weak and vulnerable, but that doesn’t matter, because, for once and for all,
THE WAR IS OVER!”
“You said it, Hee-chan,” Duo encouraged him, grabbing his chin in his
hand and turning his head to kiss him, tongues visibly caressing and moans
intentionally loud with only one purpose in mind:
to pester the hell out of Doctor J.
“Don’t do that, it’s not
natural!” Doctor J snapped.
It actually brought Heero into a spontaneous, philosophical, yet truthful mood. “Doctor
J, what *is* natural? Is it natural to share your whole goddamned life with a
woman you don’t love? To please her in bed while in fact you don’t give one
fuck about her? Let me tell you, Doctor J. When a person makes your heart
thunder in your throat and makes your legs feel like jelly,
then you don’t really give a damn whether it’s a man or a woman. Love is love,
and it’s only “unnatural” to push those feelings away.”
“Heero, I hope you realize
that, if I ever get out of this alive, I will hunt you down and kill you
personally, together with that boyfriend of yours,” Doctor J grunted.
“That’s been on my mind, yes. But you *won’t* get out of this
alive,” Heero said simplistically.
“I really thought you had
more wits that this. Risking you life for some foolish love-affair.”
“No, Doctor J,” Duo said. “It
goes way deeper than that. It’s about making sacrifices, taking risks, breaking
certain rules sometimes. When you’re willing to do such things for each other,
then a “foolish love-affair” can soon turn out to be something more.”
“But society…”
“Society
can go to hell and never come back as far as I’m concerned!” Duo barked. “We
love each other and they’ll just have to accept that. *You* will have to accept
that.”
“You have never cared about
me, have you, Doctor J?” Heero asked.
“Sure I have. Wasn’t your
inhumanity the best proof that you weren’t eaten alive by guilt every time you
came back from battle?”
“And who said I wanted to be
like that? Who gave you permission to raise me
like that? You never asked for my opinion and when I tried to give it to you,
you wouldn’t listen! To you, I was nothing but a
tool to win some ridiculous war and you were willing to go through everything
to create something that no one can be: perfect.
While all I wanted to do was to live my life like a normal boy, with normal
feelings. Why do you think I went on so many suicide missions? I wanted to die,
my life was a living hell. I was being chased and adored by the wrong one.
Relena was jumping around me like crazy and the
boy I really wanted was already seeing someone. All those times we were alone,
the two of us, the only thing I wanted to do was to take him then and there. I’m
telling you, at times like that it wasn’t really all that convenient to wear
spandex and if you ever saw me with sunglasses on, it wasn’t always to protect
my eyes from the sun, but to keep people from seeing the yearning in them. Now that I finally have him, I’m not gonna let you, of
all people, ruin it.”
“Stop that twaddle and untie
me!” Doctor J kept on trying, his tone demanding.
“No!” Heero said harshly. “You
see, Doctor J, there’s nothing more beautiful than to see your lover sitting on
red satin sheets, waiting for you to make love to him,
then see him falling asleep against your chest. It’s the kind of pleasure and
warmth you have denied me for my entire life. But not anymore, Doctor J. Your dictatorship over me is over.”
“So you’re gonna fill your
days with humping each other?” Doctor J grunted, grimacing at the mere thought.
“Humping until we have no
cock left,” Duo cheered. “Ooh, I can’t wait to have you, Heero. To have you
between my legs again.”
“Again?! What do you mean, again?!” Doctor J yelled.
Grinning, Duo popped out the
key to Heero’s office. “Recognize this?”
“Why, that’s…”
“That’s right. Heero wasn’t
as locked up as you thought he was. Whenever you were gone, I was there. Making
love to him. Kissing him for the days we were separated. Licking him for the
times I have hurt him. Fucking him to make up for everything.”
“Stop it! I couldn’t stand
the thought!” Doctor J shouted in disgust.
“Oh, you couldn’t stand the
thought you say. Then you will surely die at the
view of it,” Duo smirked.
“Duo, you aren’t actually
going to…” Heero smiled nervously.
“Don’t worry, Hee-chan. No
such private stuff in here,” Duo said, although he did push Heero down in a
chair and nestled himself on his lap. “Only the next best thing. See those
little wires on his head? They’re connected to Heidi’s head. Her thoughts will
be sent to his brain and there’s no way he can
block them out, whether he opens or closes his eyes and
on that screen over there we can follow everything.” He popped out a little
remote control and gave a swift wink to Heidi, who was sitting at ease in a
cosy chair. In response to that, she gave a
naughty smile and closed her eyes. Soon they could see two figures on the
screen, vaguely in the beginning, but the picture sharpened quickly.
“Hey, that’s us!” Heero said
surprised.
“Hush now, my love. She
might give us some good ideas,” Duo said, gently putting a finger on Heero’s
lips.
“Is that what Heidi’s
thinking right now?”
“Yes it is. Now, be quiet.
She can’t concentrate otherwise,” Duo said in a
dimmed tone, although he knew that Heidi didn’t really need any concentration
to fantasize about them, she did it all the
time. He was only too curious to see what kind of concoctions were going on
inside her head to continue the conversation with his sweetheart.
Soon he drifted off and
leaned heavier against Heero’s chest at the sight of their bodies surrounded by
soft sheets. It didn’t take long before they could hear sounds of disapproval
and utter dismay coming from Doctor J. How versatile she could be sometimes
concerning fantasies about them, this time she opted to make them play with
food. Ice-cream to be more precise.
They saw Duo, seated between
Heero’s legs, his hair down, dragging a big, round box of strawberry ice-cream
towards him, rolling it over Heero’s belly and chest a few times before opening
it. The condensation on the box was a sharp
contrast to the heat of Heero’s skin, and his
muscles flexed at the feel of it. Grabbing a handful of the expensive,
high-quality sweetness, Duo rubbed it over that same area, slowly, giving it
time to melt and make Heero’s slender body slick with soft-pink cream.
It made Heero suck in a
harsh, pleasure-filled breath and only partly recovered
from the dazzling effect it had on him, his hand automatically reached out to
the freezing box too. His vision clouded with rapture as Duo slid a delicate
finger along his groin, he clawed into the fruity mass and before Duo got the
chance to make that teasing finger proceed to the tightness he longed to feel,
Heero splashed the ice-cream against his lover’s stomach, causing him to jerk
his head up in surprise. The melting treat dribbled down, but it’s way was
barred by a burning shaft of pulsing flesh. Soon, those sweet, thick drops were
followed by a deft hand, still smudged with ice-cream.
Duo groaned loudly through
gritted teeth at the shocking chill that hand brought forth as its fingers
curled around his cock. Heero took advantage of it to use it as some sort of
lubricant, combined with the growing drops of pre cum beading at his tip. He
moved up- and downward, quickening the more Duo’s face faded into pleasure and
it didn’t take long before the latter began rocking his hips to meet Heero’s
vigorous pumps, moaning, biting his lip, tossing his head back. He got lost in
the subtle activities, but trusted Heero enough that he would stop in time
before he climaxed. His conjecture was right, although it had been a very close
call, and he needed some time to catch his breath and ease his outrageously
pounding heart.
Meanwhile, five pairs of
dumbfounded eyes were fixed upon the screen, and Quatre swiftly licked his
lips, because he was absolutely positive that he was drooling over what was
happening.
“Trowa, I demand that we do
that too!” he cried.
“What? Jerk each other off? We already do that,” Trowa stated
soberly.
“No! That stuff with the
ice-cream, I mean!”
“Oh. Okay,” Trowa said
shrugging.
Quatre’s cries of protest
were drowned out by cries of frenzy, coming from Doctor J, but except for Duo
and Heero, no one paid any attention to it. The
old man was trying to get free in whatever possible way, but the iron shackles
didn’t budge. His efforts resulted in screams, dissolving into desperate coughs, almost on the verge of choking.
“Duo, I think he’s gonna
throw up,” Heero said, not in the least worried, in fact, only amused by the
success of their game.
“Wanna place a bet?” Duo
said merrily.
“Okay. Uhm… how about, if he
throws up, you’re gonna be my slave for a month, and vice
versa,” Heero said, holding up his hand, palm upwards.
“You have got yourself a
deal, mister!” Duo cried, slapping the hand.
Suddenly their attention was
drawn by a slight moan from Heidi as she shifted in her chair, eyes still
closed and cheeks red from excitement. In the mean time, Duo had recovered
enough in her head and the attention of the five young men was drawn further to
the screen as a half pained, half ecstatic groan came from Heero.
The long haired Preventer had taken another grab of the crystallized
delicacy and had started an assault on his
willing victim’s entrance. Time to feel pain, Heero didn’t get though, for Duo’s
fingers were quick to find that sensitive spot, at the
same time he flicked out his tongue to touch the darkening head of Heero’s
member. He suckled on it as if it was a lollipop, the ice-cream smeared across
it making it all the more sweet.
Duo’s busy fingers fed an
undefined, never satiable hunger and freed Heero’s caged soul, almost devoured
his being as Duo’s teasing activities reached an nearly unbearable level.
“Duo… No! Oh… Stop it!!”
Heero cried. “I’m… I’m gonna come if… if you don’t…”
The young American obeyed
and withdrew his fingers, smiling down upon his writhing lover. He slid his
hands under Heero’s knees and carefully draped them over his shoulders, giving him easy access. He himself remained seated on
his knees, not wanting to restrict the other boy’s ability to breathe too much.
His misty gaze stayed fixed upon Heero’s face until they made eye-contact and
was answered with a swift nod. Thereupon he gave a hard thrust.
Heero screamed and winced in
pain at the intrusion, but his features switched to intense pleasure as Duo
repeatedly banged against his prostate.
The heavenly friction around
Duo’s member sent his mind spinning and whirling and the smell of sugared
strawberries mingled with their sweat, the mere thought of both of them doing
this caused a definite overload inside his head. He clamped the base of Heero’s
thighs to apply all of his force, his hips bucking at a savage pace. Sooner,
much quicker than he had wished for, he could feel Heero’s body tense and
vaguely he noticed gushes of thick liquid leaving him and hitting him on his
stomach, his own orgasm not delayed much longer.
Heero’s legs lazily glided
away from his shoulders and once that light burden was
gone, Duo allowed himself to lean forward onto his lover’s chest and
slumber away into sweet dreams together with him.
Everything went black on the
screen. Heidi had opened her eyes and come back
to reality.
Heero sweatdropped as he
threw a swift glance to his colleagues, the three of them standing there with
an obvious bulge in their pants, Wufei with a bleeding nose on top of it.
“Duo, that still seemed
pretty private to me,” Heero said nervously.
“Hey, did we torture the man
or did we torture him?” Duo said, springing upright and scurrying over to
Doctor J. Concern? Of course not. He grabbed his chin and rudely jerked his
head from side to side, paying no heed to the fierce grunts and even attempts
to bite him.
“Duo, what exactly are you
trying to do?” Heero asked.
“I wanna know if he has
puked, so you can be my slave for a whole month.”
“Oh…” Heero watched him
examining his face for traces of vomit and his heart missed a beat as he saw
Duo looking up at him with mischievous eyes, saying only one thing: Be afraid.
Be very afraid.
With a wicked grin on his
face he sauntered back to his personal slave for the month, knowing he would
enjoy every moment of it. By the time he had reached Heero however, his face
had turned to complete seriousness, a kind of earnestness Heero had rarely seen
coming from him.
Duo realized, it was about
time to deliver Doctor J the final mental blow. This promised to be priceless. “Heero,”
he said softly, standing right in front of him.
“Duo? What’s the matter with
you? You’re so serious all of a sudden,” Heero said awkwardly. A strange kind
of feeling filled him as Duo kneeled down on one knee and took Heero’s hand in
his. Oh, he just *had* to be kidding him.
Hopeful violet eyes looked
up in confused blue. Now, Duo, now you
can say it. “Heero, will you marry me?” Duo
said with a slightly shivering voice.
Heero was stunned and caught
by surprise at
the unexpected question and the fact that Doctor
J was going berserk with rage didn’t even
penetrate his head. The only thing he could do for the moment was look around
in confusion. He saw Quatre and Trowa looking at him with a happy face, Wufei
was still wiping blood away from under his nose and somewhere in the background
he thought that he could hear Heidi cheering something like “Yay! Unlimited
sex!” No, no insanity. That indeed was something she
would say. For a brief moment, the thought crossed his mind that Duo was only doing this to annoy Doctor J,
but any traces of doubt were wiped away as he looked back into those sincere
eyes, still waiting for an answer. They radiated genuine love and a whole lot
of promises if he would say yes. He knew what Duo was doing here. Surely it
would infuriate Doctor J, but that wasn’t his chief reason, only a little
treat. He would’ve asked him anyway. Duo,
my love, I have underestimated you. You couldn’t have picked a better moment to
do it.
“Heero?” Duo asked, his hope
faltering dramatically at Heero’s seeming hesitation.
Heero soothed his anxiety
with a warm smile. “Duo, there’s nothing I want more,” he said.
“Really?” Duo said,
stumbling back upright. “Oh Heero, I’m so happy!” He gently took Heero’s head
in his hands and kissed him sweetly on the lips.
“NO! Heero, how dare you!
You’re a Perfect Soldier! That brat will destroy everything! All my labor, all those training sessions!”
Doctor J hollered from his table, making the whole thing shake with his outraged tugs.
Duo sighed and shook his
head. “What do you say about killing him off right now? And don’t worry, we won’t
go to jail. Maybe to hell, but we’re going there anyway, because we are gay. So
what difference does it make?” he said.
Heero saw Duo pointing the
gun to Doctor J. No, don’t do it, he
heard flashing through his head.
“Are you sure, Heero?” Duo
asked.
Heero looked at Duo. “We’re
worth a bullet through our heads, you know that?” he said softly.
Grinning, Duo took Heero’s
hand, placed it over his and put the gun against his temple. “Then shoot me,
Heero. I’ll wait for you on the other side.” Look out, next thing you know he’ll pull
that trigger.
“In hell?”
“Hell or heaven, it doesn’t
really matter all that much. We’ll make a heaven out of it. We've already had enough of hell here.” What was that
doubt in his eyes? He had just agreed to marry him. He wouldn’t go back on it
now, would he? No, he wouldn’t shoot him, would
he?
Heero bit his lip. Those
