Damn Traditions

Well as promised the next piece of this story, and we leave the episodes. Work’s been a pain, I lost my Xerox and have to get used to new machines from Monday, not fun, especially as I finish up on Friday for my holidays…. Oh well, I’m looking forward to writing the next piece, not finished yet…..

Damn Tradition continued

The others thought he was done for, but he of course he returned to face Freiza again, he had escaped at the last moment. The small planet was not enduring the fight as well as they were. They agreed to fight on the land, taking it much more seriously now.

Stare off ended, they began again only Freiza was not using his hands at all. Still, neither hit the other, until Freiza used his whipping tail on Kakarott, slapping him around painfully. Kakarott landed against a cliff, but turned back to fight. Again Kakarott fell foul to Frieza’s tail wrapping around his leg and slamming him earthward, the Saiyan saved himself and was able to grab Freiza’s tail and hold it. Then he used it to spin the lizard around and toss him away. He flew to get ahead of him, but Frieza disappeared and tried another rock attack. Kakarott again got his hands on Freiza’s tail when he tried to hit him in the ribs. Frieza jumped at him and forced him to let go and they went at it some more. Then the tail was used going around Kakarott’s neck. He fought to pull it off as Freiza laughed, but Kakarott did the unexpected and bit him. They fought again Freiza punching Kakarott in the end unable to keep up his no arms fight.

Freiza said he was holding back and tried to get Kakarott to join him. But Kakarott would never do that. So Frieza powered up. Kakarott appeared behind him, Frieza had increased his power fifty percent. Kakarott could sense it and Freiza hit him, he barely stayed on his feet. Freiza went back to attacking with his tail, hurting Kakarott with each blow. He collapsed to the ground with the pain.

Kakarott got up and tried to get a hit in, but Frieza avoided it all however, each attack made against Kakarott hurt him. On and on it went Frieza punishing Kakarott mercilessly. He landed tiring. Freiza came to taunt him before continuing his relentless attack. He wanted to hurt Kakarott for daring to fight him. Finally he crashed into a lake and Freiza would not allow him to surface without attacking. He stood on Kakarott’s head keeping him under until he apparently drowned.

Memories of his mate, his son, the friends he had made pulled him back and some reserve deep inside him escaped and he returned to face Freiza, stronger than before. This time his attacks on Freiza worked, he made a power blast and was able to keep it up against the lizard. Frieza held it off, he was beyond pissed afterwards, and also surprised by the Saiyan’s power. He returned to attacking Kakarott, back in control and able to hurt him again. And hurt him he would.

He looked defeated, but Vegeta reached out to him, urging his mate on to fight for the freedom of their world. Freiza thought to finish him. With a wave of his hand power slammed at Kakarott, he covered himself and was spared the attack, because Freiza wanted to scare him.

“I will win. I will not let you beat me!” he said defiantly.

Freiza went at him hand to hand. They fought Kakarott nearly getting him and Freiza knew it, until he got a double fisted punch that sent Kakarott to the ground. In pain he pulled himself back to his feet. Freiza taunting him aimed power beams at him, striking him over and over; still he would not give up. Another one knocked him back to a crack in the ground where he only just held on by one hand. He was exhausted but not beaten. Freiza took advantage and attacked Kakarott who had no chance to fight back, a Ki ball sending him crashing into the lake.

Again he hauled himself out, only to hear Freiza continue to bad mouth the Saiyan race. Kakarott attacked and Freiza stopped him ready to fight a beam between his eyes. It was too much for Piccolo, he attacked sending Freiza flying. It was the last of his power.

Kakarott called on all the reserves he could find, drawing energy he never knew he could, and it came. Piccolo could feel it and despite being out of energy himself again challenged Freiza to help the Saiyan.

Piccolo attacked Freiza, but it was to no avail, nothing affected the lizard. Instead he jumped behind Piccolo and began inflicting pain. Finally he fell to the earth behind Kakarott. Freiza was ready to kill Piccolo when Raditz and Nappa attacked distracting Freiza from Piccolo. Something happened to Kakarott, he knew he could do it and calling on reserves of power he began to form a huge ball of power.

Angered Freiza began his own power ball, this one a negative to Kakarott’s positive. Kakarott attacked with what he had made, Freiza tried to fend it off, but it pushed him back into the planet once it struck. The blast was enormous stressing the small world further. Raditz and Nappa were knocked by the blast and sent flying. The same happened to Piccolo and Kakarott.

They all joined up, still having little to no power left and they all believed Freiza was finished. Nappa remembered that they had become separated from Vegeta and they readied themselves to go and join him. Only to see Freiza on a cliff above them. He aimed another power beam at Kakarott, but Piccolo leapt in the way and like Vegeta he was hit straight through and hurt almost fatally. That was it for Kakarott.

“Raditz, find Vegeta and get him to your ship. Nappa take the Namek to his ship and get as far from here as possible.”

“If you think you can escape me, you’re sadly mistaken.” Freiza sent his next beam at Nappa who was sent flying before he actually blew to pieces. “I will kill you all. All your race. I will find your pathetic mate and finish him, I will go to your world and destroy it all,” declared Freiza, “There will be no more Saiyan race.”

“I will not let you.” Power surged around Kakarott, the whole planet reacting to him. The power suddenly burst into golden light as Kakarott finally transformed. The Super Saiyan had emerged.

“Raditz take Piccolo to his mate, get them off this world. Find Vegeta and leave.”

“But brother—“

“Now!”

Raditz moved, picking up the Namek and taking off. “Be careful brother, even if you are the legend, a Super Saiyan.”

Freiza turned to attack them. But Kakarott stood in front of him grabbing the offending wrist squeezing it hard driving Freiza to his knees until he could pull away. He did not want to believe that he faced his greatest fear.

Kakarott went at him will all his anger, no one threatened all he cared for. Freiza crashed into the earth this time but soon reappeared.

He could not deny it now, but he would not be beaten by him, a destroyer of worlds.

Freiza moved Kakarott matched him until they faced again, so Freiza attacked with a power blast. As the smoke cleared Kakarott was untouched. Enraged Freiza threw more explosive blasts at him, Kakarott was unmoved.

It was his turn. He sent a Ki ball at Freiza, pushing him away, but not killing him, then Kakarott went after him, punching him around easily, enjoying himself. They fought hand to hand, Freiza blocked each time. He landed on the ground, Kakarott followed.

Freiza tried beams again, Kakarott dodged them all. Freiza continued but only the planet suffered, exploding, cracking, shaking. Still Kakarott was not harmed.

Freiza was frustrated. He sent another which Kakarott dodged by tossing his head back. Freiza tried to attack another way.

“So you are the mate of Prince Vegeta. Did you know that he believed he could be the Super Saiyan? The whole Saiyan court knew about it. They laughed behind his back. What would they do to know that a third class became their legend?”
Kakarott powered up again and Freiza did the same, the two forces clashed tearing up the planet.

Meanwhile Raditz had gotten Piccolo to his ship only to find that neither he nor his mate were capable of taking off. He knew the Saiyan ship was close by so again lifted Piccolo and took him to their ship. He then returned for Nail taking him over as well, and took off to find Vegeta.

“I’ll destroy us both before I let you live,” said Freiza and he charged up a negative ball. But this time he aimed it at the little world, it went deep, causing maximum damage to the planet.

“So you couldn’t do it. Destroying both of us so that I don’t win isn't any way to fight. It’s just another way of giving up.”

“You still don’t get it do you?” he laughed. “I didn’t plan on destroying myself, just you and this planet, because I can breathe in space and you can’t. That means if the planet goes then you won't have any air to live on and I shall be victorious, five minutes that is all you have. This planet is going to blow. Its core has been completely disintegrated.”

“Five minutes is all I need to beat you and leave. It’s over, you’re finished.”

“How dare you. Me finished? No one says that to me I reign supreme over all.”

“I’ll destroy you.”

“I figured out how to beat you. Die planet die.”

Freiza threatened to go to one hundred percent, but Kakarott wouldn’t let him get the chance. Kakarott attacked pounding Freiza sending him flying into the crater. He flew back out and Kakarott played with him some more. Freiza got his balance back and finally got a Ki ball off at Kakarott who crashed to the earth leaving a canyon of damage. But he blasted his way out.

Raditz was having trouble finding Vegeta with his low power signature. He couldn’t be sensed and the planet’s imminent destruction was not helping.

Freiza began to power up as he had warned. It too began to affect the dying planet. Kakarott held back, waiting for Freiza to reach maximum. He powered up too.

Finally Raditz found Vegeta and hurried back to the ship with him. He didn’t have long to get off the diminishing world.

Freiza got to maximum, then he went after Kakarott, getting him hard in the stomach, grabbed him by the hair kneed him so he went flying and hit him as he soared before attacking hard with fists and feet. Kakarott could do nothing. Freiza threw him, but Kakarott pulled up only to be stomped into the crater wall. He escaped to once again become a punching bag for Freiza, finally escaping and flying off just ahead of Freiza.

The planet continued to explode; it would not be long before it blew itself to pieces. Kakarott realized this and stopped, letting Freiza catch up to him and hit him from above. He saved himself but couldn’t sense where Freiza was in the smoke of the lava pits. Disorientated Freiza caught him by surprise kicking him once, twice before they went hand to hand again till Kakarott grabbed his wrists holding him off.

Freiza powered up taking them both skyward, he broke free and kicked Kakarott. He recovered as the planet continued to burst apart. Freiza believed he would win.

Raditz got Vegeta to the ship which was becoming endangered by the dying planet. He got inside it as fast as he could and lay Vegeta alongside the Nameks. The ship slipped as the planet heaved.

Freiza continued to attack Kakarott. He made a fake attack, appeared behind him with a Ki blast, but he was able to grab Freiza and head butt him before spinning him around and tossing him earthward. Freiza sent off a Ki blast to stop him, further breaking up the planet before rising to float in front of Kakarott.

The crater below them exploded between them, both had to jump away to escape the lava. While still fighting each other. Eventually Kakarott got a Ki Ball to Freiza and sent him into the ground. Freiza emerged above him, he powered up again as Kakarott formed another huge power ball. Freiza came at him. Kakarott sent the ball at him. Freiza caught it and pushed back at it. Kakarott kept it up, sending more power into it. Freiza was sent back but again was able to push back. Kakarott worked hard to sustain his power stream sending more and more at Freiza. But Freiza jumped away and attacked unexpectedly hitting him and crashing him into the earth a great distance. Then Freiza jumped free as the earth spouted lava. Freiza believe he had won.

But from underneath a lake Kakarott’s golden light emerged before he floated up to face Freiza once again.

Raditz was worried, he was not about to leave his brother to die on that world with Freiza. He had to wait for the last moment, but he lifted off the planet to save the ship.

Freiza and Kakarott faced off before Kakarott powered up again. Freiza sent twin beams at Kakarott who slapped them away before Freiza came at him and they fought hand to hand again, then traded Ki blasts, they went back to hand to hand, neither winning.

The planet raged around them as they both landed on the cracked surface. Freiza broke first, hitting Kakarott but was deflected. They clutched each other by their hands their power cratering the earth under them. Freiza let go and pounded at Kakarott getting him around the chest and flipping him into the ground before using his leg to crash him around some more and tossing him into a cliff. Freiza went after him flipped him into the air got above and hit him down again jumping on him, but Kakarott held him off and Freiza pushed off once more from the ground into the air.

Still they fought until fed up, Freiza sent a huge four times ball at Kakarott who pushed it off and into space. If it had exploded on the world it would have been instantly destroyed. Kakarott was tiring, he was giving it all. Freiza punched him into some lava, but he protected himself and emerged. They fought again, Kakarott panting.

Raditz had to move the ship, he had to get closer to Kakarott or he’d be lost.

They were still fighting each getting hits in on each other, but still neither winning. The planet was in its death throes

“You’re nothing but an overgrown monkey,” said Freiza as he continued punch, hit, kick, crash.

Freiza grabbed him from behind, Kakarott elbowed over and over until Freiza crashed away. Pissed Freiza beat him over and over. But Kakarott got up and as Freiza came at him, he got him in the belly and blood poured from his mouth. Freiza rose up kicked him away but he returned to kick him back and turn the tables. The planet strained around them as Freiza dodged away. Kakarott followed matching him all the way. Freiza tried to hit him but couldn’t, Kakarott was getting his licks in now. Freiza crashed to the ground. Now he was panting and beyond angry.

Kakarott decided it was enough he took off to find the others. But Freiza launched a power disk at Kakarott. He stopped powered up as much as he could, Freiza had stopped the disk and now aimed it at Kakarott who fled from it. But then he aimed himself at Freiza, the disk right behind. Freiza could see what he was doing though, he knew the plan. Kakarott jumped away and Freiza knocked the disk away. Kakarott reappeared as Freiza held his disk and made another. Kakarott avoided them both and once again headed for Freiza. He tossed a Ki ball and jumped away. Freiza had to jump to avoid the disks. Then Kakarott attacked getting in hit after hit until Freiza landed on the earth. It sank beneath him, he rose to attack Kakarott, the two disks hit him from behind slicing him to pieces. Kakarott made sure that he would not attack again before taking off. The planet was ready to blow he didn’t have much time; he left the planet to end Freiza as he still lived.

Kakarott turned to leave Freiza however lifted his torso off the ground; he still had an arm left the other gone. He was not going to give up. Kakarott stopped as Freiza taunted him telling him he would not escape the planet’s doom. Kakarott took off again, but Freiza poured the last of his power at Kakarott, he deflected it back at Freiza destroying him completely. He took off after the ship that held his brother and his mate. He did not have much time.

Raditz was worried; the planet’s forces were tossing the ship around. He didn’t know how to find his brother. All he could trust was his brother’s uncanny senses. Perhaps he could sense them. He had to hope that. The ship bucked and groaned, there seemed to be no surface left, only molten lava. Then through the screen he saw a golden light. Kakarott saw the ship. Raditz opened the hatch as Kakarott flew at him, trying to keep the ship still, but then Kakarott grabbed the door and yelled, “Go.” He rolled inside as the hatch closed and Raditz got the thing to move, rising as quickly as he could. Kakarott lay there, staring at the ceiling as all the pain from his fights hit him at once.

Then the planet blew, a huge bright light catching the fleeing ship. Raditz fought to control it as the blast thrust them away. He and Kakarott became unconscious as the planet finally exhausted itself in the explosion and winked out of existence.
