Dragonball: Unforgotten
Chapter Twenty-five
Right after Namek went boom…
Goku groaned and panted as he slowly made his way out of one of the Ginyu force's pods. It had finally landed in the pre-programmed coordinates. He just hoped that while he was battered and bruised, that he didn't run into any strong opponents that wanted to see him dead. He wasn't sure he could pull through it this time. Chichi would kill him; then again from how he crash landed on this planet it didn't seem like he was going to have a way home. The ship look thrashed.
With a bit of regret, Goku started to walk away from the crash site. He didn't get very far before he stopped; more aptly stated, before he was stopped. As exhausted as he was, Goku tried his best to ready a defense as the strongest natives of the planet approached him. The people who got to him, however, didn't really seem like fighters...but Goku knew better by now than to judge someone's strength on their appearance.
One of the men (he assumed it was a guy...they all kind of looked like guys to him) stepped forward. Goku took him as the kind of leader.
"Can't say it's good to see you again Goku," the man spoke out, his bulging eyes taking in the sight of the saiyan before him.
"Huh? Do I know you?" Goku asked as he tilted his head in confusion.
"We only met that once. Besides you wouldn't recognize me in this form," the alien said. "What are you doing here? Are you here for my daughter?"
The other aliens around him didn't seem to like what the slightly aggressive sounding one said. They all looked around to one each other with their bulbous purple heads, as quietly as they could. Goku really had no idea what was going on.
"Uh sir...I think there's been a mistake," Goku tried to be polite. "I don't know you and I'm not here for anyone's daughter. Honest. I just crash landed after fighting with Frieza--
Another one of the purple skinned aliens spoke up in an outraged voice, "You're on the run from Frieza? Why did you come here? Go! Go back! We don't want you here, you'll bring nothing but trouble!"
"Criz," the first man who spoke up barked out in reprimand.
"Don't give me that. He'll bring nothing but pain to our planet. It's bad enough that you and your sister are harboring that one saiyan female. We don't need another of their kind here. Especially one that's running from Frieza. Do you think our planet can survive another attack from the Ginyu force? NO! WHY DO YOU THINK THEY WERE HERE TO BEGIN WITH HUH?"
Goku had a strange feeling that he'd just walked into an old grudge. And judging from the way that the inhabitants of this planet had started to make sounds back and forth between one another, he was pretty sure that he'd just sparked a debate of some sorts. Still, Goku did understand one thing. If he didn't get food and some rest he wasn't going to make it for too long. Not to mention he didn't have a way home. So unless they were going to launch him into space he had to do something…
"Hey guys, not to be rude or anything but you don't have to worry about the Ginyu force. I took care of them. They're gone. Frieza is too. He blew up with Namek."
That took the wind right out of the angry alien's sails.
"Wait, you killed them all?"
Goku smiled sheepishly as he started to rub at the back of his head. But even as he went to do that he winced at how much pain such a simple action caused. On instinct his hand went to wrap around one of his ribs to try and put pressure to it. Yeah, definitely felt broken. Not good.
"You shouldn't have to worry about them…" Goku tried.
And that was how he made some friends that day. Friends that fed him and gave him a bed to lay on - in his opinion those were the best kinds of friends.

Goku rose from the bed after sleeping for nearly thirty six hours. He was in what seemed like a medical room. It was kind of dark in there and everything was done in shades of red. It reminded him of the desert buildings that he'd seen as a kid. As he sat up from the bed, Goku realized that he wasn't the only person in the room. On the far wall, or rather in the far wall, was what looked to be a woman. Goku moved over to her as though drawn closer.
He reached out to the tank that she was building held in. She floated in the middle with many different machines hooked into various parts of her body. As he looked around he saw what looked to be deformed, or maybe small, version of organs also floating in fancy jars. Of course, he had no way to know that these organs were specifically being grown for the woman from her very own dna. All he saw was something that looked straight out of a sci-fy torture horror movie. And it made him angry.
The woman inside of the fish-tank like chamber looked so vulnerable. Something about her...he wanted to reach inside and save her. But even he recognized that the machines were keeping her alive. She wouldn't be hooked to so many of them if that wasn't true. Besides, Goku vaguely remembered one of those purple men said something about a female saiyan. He called her his daughter. People didn't call other people their daughter if they were trying to hurt them.
Though what he saw next was pushing even his open mindedness. There was a small little creature in a different type of jar. It looked like a tadpole with a really big head, almost oddly human like with where the eye holes were. And it looked like it sorta had started to grow arms. Did they get the alien out of her? Was that why she was hooked to the tank? Goku had no way of knowing for sure. But he did know that the small parasite looking alien was in a jar that was a lot different from the others. What he didn't understand was that, that particular jar was not only keeping the small life form alive but also keeping it stagnant - stuck at that early phase of growth with no consciousness to speak of. Just like the large container was doing for the woman as her organs were grown.
Goku's eyes turned back to the woman floating in the largest of the containment units. She was surrounded from all sides except for the viewing window as far as he was aware. His hand pressed to the cool glass and he ignored the pain of moving as he held his spot. Something about her...and it wasn't just the saiyan tail either. He knew her somehow but he didn't. He had never seen her in his life. But she was so familiar. Goku pushed past the pain of standing up and holding his arm out until he literally couldn't anymore. At which point he slumped against the wall, face sliding down the cool glass like substance, as he completely passed out.

The next time Goku woke up he was not only bandaged up from head to toe with what felt like sticky bandages, but he was also strapped down to the bed. He tried to struggle but with how badly some of his body had suffered in the fight on Namek, even the mighty Goku couldn't break his way free. Which didn't help with the panic in his head. His head whipped back and forth violently as he tried to summon his ki. What really got to him was the fact that it seemed to be gone. He couldn't access it. Gone.
"Calm down," a more feminine voice said as she walked into the room.
At least, Goku assumed it was a she based on the voice. With the inhabitant looking exactly like the others that Goku had run across (right down to all the same clothes) he really had no way of telling.
"I thought putting you in the same room with her would get you to behave. Don't make me sedate you Goku."
"Who are you? How do you know my name?"
"I'd be insulted if I didn't remember that you'd never seen me in my true form."
Again with the talk about true forms and how he'd seen them in something else. Goku really didn't have any idea of what was going on. All he knew was that he was trapped in a room with a woman claiming that they'd met before. In the same room that was filled with creepy looking jars and a beautiful woman that was hooked to machines to survive. He also knew that he was tied up and without his ki.
"What did you do to me? Who are you?"
"We're healing you. You have no idea how many things you broke, do you?" the 'woman' sighed in exacerbation. "I swear, if she didn't like you so much…"
"Who is she?" Goku asked, just trying to make sense of the situation."Where am I?"
The alien blinked. "To start off, you're on Yardrats. And secondly - are you joking me?"
"I promise, I'm not joking. I don't know who you're talking about. Unless you've met Chichi or Bulma...those are the only girls I know."
"Oh you have to be joking."
"I'm not, I promise. And where I come from promises are meant to be kept forever."
"Okay, you stay right there mister. I'm going to go figure this out."
Goku really didn't have much of a choice. But he felt better knowing that the Yardratian was actually trying to get answers for him. That was something at least. Everything else wasn't good though. His eyes turned over towards the floating woman on the far side of the room, searching her face for...well, he didn't know what he was searching for. Just that it felt right.
His attention was drawn back to where the Yardratian female was. Or where she had been. With a sort of popping sound she was gone from the room like she never existed. Goku spent ten minutes just how he was - alone and afraid as he tried to figure out what to do next. And when the purple female came back she didn't seem happy. In fact, she was even cursing out Kami's name.
Wait.
Kami?
"You know Kami?" Goku asked, his fear fading.
"I just went to talk with him. He has a lot of explaining to do when you get back to Earth."
"You just went to Earth? How? How'd you get there so fast?"
She hesitated for a moment. Her bulbous yet narrowed eyes turned to look at the floating woman and she decided what to do. When she turned back to Goku she spoke out in a calm voice.
"It's a technique of my people. We call it Instant Transmission. And I promise that I will teach you if you settle down and heal. When you're healed I will begin to teach you. But you will leave the moment you've mastered it. Understood?"
Goku had no idea why she wanted him to leave so adamentally once he mastered the technique. But he agreed.
Little did he know, the female Yadratian just wanted him off of the planet before the woman in the tank was ready to come out. Though by how damnably hard it was to grow saiyan organs it seemed like her heart-daughter was going to be trapped in there forever at this point.
She also hadn't realized at that time that everyday Goku would go back to sleep in that bed, in that particular room, instead of the new one he was offered in a far less creepy area. He didn't even remember her and he still instinctively wanted to be around her. When she realized that she cursed instincts and bonds. She wanted her heart-daughter safe and Goku seemed to attract trouble wherever he went.
