Damn Traditions 29
This took a little longer than I had planned, but then I had to go back to work again. So much has changed since I left on leave, it will never be the same place again. I started my LiveJournal up again under a new name. I cannot use this pen name for anything like it again, so I chose a new one that has nothing to do with my phoenix fixation, actually it is a Naruto name that I chose.
This chapter is short, sorry about that, too many distractions going on but at least the flow came back once I did start. No action in this part, lots of thinking and some conversation back on Vegetasei. I apologise for all the spelling mistakes in the last chapter. I checked this one better, but there might be more. Hope you like. And Battleangel thank you so much for your review, it really gave me so much confidence that I am a better writer than I used to be, and that is my goal in life. And there was nothing wrong with your English it was great! Can you let me know where the inconsistancy is, I'd like to fix it. It's getting hard to keep track of everything with it getting so big, 120 A4 pages now!
Anyway enjoy till next time….

“Do you have to wear those ridiculous clothes, Kakarott?”
“What else is there for me to wear?”
“You can at least modify them so they don’t look so… idiotic.”
“Are we going home soon?”
“Yes Kakarott, in a day or two the ship should be ready to go. Of course getting in enough food for the three of us is proving to be taking the most time. Especially the way you eat.”
“I eat the way I always eat.”
“Not with that cub in you. You’re eating more than ever. I’m glad the Namekians only need water. Though your friend seems to have developed a taste for something more.”
Kakarott tried to look innocent, but the small grin on his mouth showed that he knew exactly what his mate meant. He and Nail enjoyed their snuggle time…..
“Well on the ship you will not be snuggling so much Kakarott. You will stay in our bed and you will not stray. Do I make myself clear?”
“Fine,” he said not looking at his mate. It looked like it was going to be a miserable trip home for him.
However, there was one very much looking forward to getting home, and that was Raditz, he was sick of his hand and wanted what the other two couples were having. He was planning that the moment they got home, he was going to jump ship and find the nearest whorehouse he could find and spend a week there.
Vegeta was trying to figure out what exactly he was going to do about his father. He had no idea of what was going on at home. He hoped that Bardock had gotten his son to safety, even if that meant going to the rebels. He had planned on rewarding the Namek’s with a new ship, as theirs had been lost when the planet blew with Frieza. He wondered if anyone knew that Frieza was dead, they must have known that Zarbon had disappeared as well, and that Aspaga was dead.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The King had been keeping to his office as much as was possible. He wanted to avoid Paragus and he wanted to avoid the council as well. Things had never seemed as bad as they were now.
He heard someone enter his office without knocking; he assumed it was one of his personal guards. “Get out I do not want to be disturbed.”
“That’s the trouble, you are disturbed.”
The King spun around in his seat once he recognized the voice. “How the hell did you get in here, Bardock?”
“You forget how long I have worked in the Palace, and I still have some friends amongst the guard. I’m not here to kill you, I have a feeling your son will want to do that when he returns.”
“Returns, for where? No one know where he is since Aspaga was killed.”
“A ship was seen to leave the planet where Frieza’s ship was tracked to. It was caught in the planet’s destructive blast and tossed into space, but it survived. Where it is exactly has not been determined. But I believe our sons are still alive. Raditz and Nappa may be with them. It is believed that Frieza never got off the planet. Now as to why I am here, we need to talk.”
“About what? Where is my grandson?”
“Safe. He’s my grandson as well, and as far as you are concerned he is dead anyway,” snapped Bardock angrily. “Why the hell did you want to hand him over to the Icejins?”
“I thought it was the best thing I could do at the time. Frieza was threatening to destroy our world. Giving him my grandson seemed to satisfy him. He agreed to leave us alone, use us only for missions when needed.”
“So you give him an heir to the throne to raise in his way so he can come back and take over with his trained puppet, in effect then he would be the leader of this world.”
“He was going to destroy our world.”
“That is no excuse for giving him one of our cubs, your own blood.”
“My first obligation is to this world’s survival. If I had to sacrifice the child I would.”
“And what about yourself? Why didn’t you just turn yourself over to him?”
The King glared at him.
“My son knew there was something wrong, he knew his child was still alive and he made it back here. He, Vegeta, Raditz and that pair of Namek’s fought the Ginyu force and defeated them. One of the Namek’s even fought Frieza himself.”
“Frieza was here! The Ginyu force defeated!”
“Yes, and Zarbon too. In fact I may be the one responsible for killing Aspaga; the last I saw of her she was hitting the ground hard.”
The King was still looking pale, “Frieza, what happened to him?”
“His ship went off to a small planet, the one that was destroyed recently. As I said, we don’t know what happened there and the only ship that was made out to be escaping was the ship Prince Vegeta took there, of the Namek’s ship and Frieza’s there was no sign.”
“Did you come here only to tell me this?”
“And find out why you did what you did. My grandson is safe amongst the rebels and he will remain so as long as I remain. We will fight against any new laws taken against the bearers and we will not allow you to take them from us. There is more third class on this world than either of the other classes and they will join us against you. The truth is getting out there, Your Majesty, and your son knows what you did. I am not going to kill you, but I’d watch my back if I were you.” Bardock turned to leave.
“Wait,” called the King getting to his feet. “You don’t think I regret doing what I did? It was the only way. I wanted my grandson to survive, I wanted our people to survive, our world. I didn’t know of any other way to save us from the Icejins.”
“Well maybe you had better start thinking about it. If Frieza is dead, what is going to happen next from them? We only had contact with Frieza, but who was he to his people? Are they going to come looking for him?”
The King straightened and turned away. Bardock was right. “Do you know of Paragus?”
“One of your nobles, some kind of scientist. I believe he has an unstable son.”
The King turned back, “He is gaining power amongst the council. He wants the bearers to be turned over and sold to the nobles for impregnation. And he has his sights on Kakarott for his unstable son.”
This time Bardock paled.
“I don’t know how far he is along with his plans, but he is giving me a lot of trouble and I am losing my voice amongst the council. They think I am suffering from the grief of losing my family and of my son becoming a rebel.”
“Then you had better start doing something to stop him or things are just going to get worse. There is no way I am going to let you Elites have any control over my son or any of the bearers. They are the only future we have. I will not allow my son to be enslaved to anyone even if he is bound to your son. There is something different about Kakarott, he’s not your usual third class, and yes somewhere maybe we have Elite in our bloodline, but I think it’s more than that. He’s always been able to sense power levels and yet his own level has always been rated as low until recently, so maybe he can even control them. He bested the guards on the safe world, who knows how far he can go.”
“Paragus believes his son is the Legendary and that because Kakarott is strong he can breed more Legendary from them.”
“I’ve heard Broly has killed several of his bed partners and that he has been driven especially crazy if he hears the crying of a child.”
“So you can see that I may not be able to do anything to stop him if his son is proven to be Legendary. Until we know what is going on with the Icejins what can I do?”
Bardock grinned, “Help us.”
“Are you insane!”
“You don’t have to help us openly. You’ve already given me vital information about Paragus’s plans. Maybe we can salvage your reign and save the bearers who are the future of our survival.”
The King chuckled. “You probably think that I was using you Bardock. But I wasn’t. Withholding things yes, but I wasn’t using you. I enjoyed our times together. It was something I had not had for a long time. Like I said I was doing what I was doing for our survival, perhaps I was wrong; I can’t change that now… Very well, I will help you. The bond between our sons cannot be broken in any case.”
Bardock smiled. “I will return in a few days… I enjoyed our time together too.” With that he turned and left quickly.
The King smiled, and he hoped that this time he was doing the right thing.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Kakarott had found the time to say goodbye to his teachers before he boarded the newly repaired ship. Vegeta had forced him to wear a uniform he had found in the ship instead of the clothes the Yardratians had provided. They left the strange little world, glad of their healing and the two pregnancies. Nail’s body was not enjoying his first pregnancy, though Kakarott was having no difficulty with his second. In fact his own sexual appetite seemed to be stronger, wanting Vegeta more and more often that the Prince was beginning to regret stopping him from playing with Nail.
Raditz spent the most time on the flight deck as he wanted to be as far away from the couples as he could. He just wanted to get home. It would take a while for them to get there. Kakarott and Nail should be well along by then and Vegeta would have to make his plans known to them. Raditz knew he had promised to acknowledge Kakarott as the bearer of his cubs, but not as far as to let anyone know they were bound in their mating. His first son was in the hands of Bardock who was no doubt with the rebels. And what he was going to do about his father’s complicity in giving the boy to the Icejins, he hadn’t hinted at. But he was not happy at all about it, not happy at all. He did not like to be betrayed, especially by someone he was supposed to trust.
Raditz knew that he was going to join Parzanip. He’d had enough of the Elite’s using his class, he might not be a bearer, but he was a third class, and the way he saw things right now, the Elites were using them and planned on using them to breed their own class up. Kakarott was mated to Vegeta, there was no helping that, but he hoped that would be a good thing. There was something about his brother that made him different, and not because he had become Legendary or that he was a bearer. He’d just have to wait and see what that was.
Vegeta lay in his bed with his finally sated mate. He lay on his back with the baka’s head lying in the crook of his arm. Kakarott knew he did not like to snuggle. The younger man was bigger than him and tended to want to enclose him, and he did not like that as the dominant in their relationship. His lack of height had always bothered him, but it was the one thing he had inherited from his dead mother.
He had not had a lot of time to think about everything that had happened on that world where they had fought Frieza. He hadn’t really let it all sink in that Kakarott had destroyed the Icejin after achieving Super Saiyan status. He knew there was something about his mate that made him different. Beating higher class soldiers on the safe world, then making Legendary… It should not have been possible, no matter if he had some link to the Elite class in his bloodline, he was not directly Elite.
He turned to look at his sleeping mate. He always looked so innocent and yet he was now the strongest Saiyan there was. Stronger than him. He still did not want to believe that he had been beaten by his mate, he should have been the one to have become Super Saiyan, he should have beaten Frieza. But Kakarott had both these things and supposedly he had done it in an effort to save him, protect him. Even as hurt as he was Vegeta had felt their link, felt the need to protect his mate.
Vegeta lifted his hand and gently touched the cheek of his mate, this enigma of a Saiyan. He was not sure what he was going to do when they reached home again. He hadn’t wanted another pregnancy this soon either, but it was there. Their second cub and a strong one at that. He knew he wanted to return to training as soon as he could. If Kakarott could reach Super Saiyan, he was determined that he would too.
Home. There was another thing to think about. What was he going to do about his father? Did they know Frieza was dead? And how was his son? He trusted Bardock to care for him as the man was the boy’s grandfather as well. He stroked his mate again as he looked at that face. He would acknowledge Kakarott as his mate, he would keep him with him if he could, but he needed to know what the situation was at home first. There was no way he was going to place his next child in danger. He would protect his mate as well. Kakarott had an annoying habit of doing what he wanted, he’d have to figure out how to break that.
Kakarott rubbed against him but did not wake. Vegeta smiled and closed his eyes.
