Keeping My Hands Busy

It was eating at both of them. Quatre had just reverted to the angel that had been missing for two years. It was almost noon and both Trowa and Duo combined couldn't figure out what had made the blonde change back. Worse yet, they didn't know when they could go back. They had tried calling Heero and Wufei, but neither had answered and Duo was starting to get worried about his lovers. Pushing everything to the back of his mind, Duo trusted that nothing was wrong, and if it was, everyone could take care of themselves.

"Heero, can you and Wufei help me today?" Quatre hadn't waited twenty seconds after the door had closed to call Heero's cell phone.

"Hn." Heero heard something different in the blondes tone but he wasn't going to risk pissing him off.

"So, clock out, bring Wufei and I'll be at your house." Receiving another grunt, Quatre hung up and started the quick walk to his friends house. He smiled brightly when he saw that Heero was already pulling into the driveway. Waving and walking up to them, he didn't even wait for them to step out of the car before he started talking. "Be honest with me, okay? Tell me if my idea is stupid because I don't want to do it if it's not a good idea."

Both boys remained silent but nodded for him to continue. Very quietly breathing out his idea, he watched as both Asians got matching smirks.

"It's perfect. How long do we have?"

"All day...maybe we should call them and tell them we'll call when they can come back." Quatre sounded so unsure of himself, Wufei nodded before pulling out his cell phone.

"I'll call, you can decide what needs to be done, we have a lot of work to do." Heero walked inside with the others and immediately set to work, they needed all the time they could get.

"It's about time, when can we come back?" Trowa looked over his plate when he heard Duo start talking. "No, you aren't on speaker, do you want to be?" Trowa watched as Duo's eyes slowly got larger and larger. "Sure, we'll see you then, bye." Putting his phone away, Duo didn't have to wait long.

"When can we go back?"

"Everything is fine, Quatre enrolled their help today and we're not allowed to go back till they're done. So...we're going to the movies after lunch." Knowing he wasn't going to get more information than that, Trowa nodded and continued eating. Today was already proving to be interesting, now he was going to spend the rest of it wondering what Quatre could need Heero and Wufei for but not him.

Duo could honestly say that he had a good day. It had been a long time since he had just taken a day off and had fun. It was even better to get to hang out and catch up with Trowa.

"So you've always liked him? Even when you got together with Heero?" Pulling away from his soda, Duo leaned back against the park bench and looked at the bugs flying around the illuminated street light above them.

"Well, when Heero and I started dating, I wasn't even sure if I liked guys. Later, he told me he only asked me out because he wasn't sure either. I suppose I should tell you that he didn't really 'ask me out', he said we should take the night off 'cause we were all run down from looking for you. Quatre wasn't up for an outing so soon after...the accident, and Wufei already had plans.

"We went to a bar, just to cool down. We figured it was late so it wouldn't be packed. What we didn't expect were all the couples making out. This guy noticed us and sent me a drink. I was gonna drink it, I mean, it was free, but Heero told the bartender to send it back. I quietly asked him why and he said the guy was seeing if Heero and I were a couple and bad things would happen in a bar like that if you weren't, so Heero nodded at him and well...let's just say the guy was a creep. He sent four more drinks and after each one was sent back I would move closer to Heero. We were so tired of it on the fifth drink that the only thing left to do to make the creepy guy go away was to make him think we were a couple, so I kissed him.

"It was just a peck, and I kissed his cheek...it was the most innocent thing in the world. The guy left us alone and we left a few hours later. Neither of us were even buzzed because we didn't really go to drink, we went to talk. So anyway, we went home and the house had just come into view and we saw Wufei and his boyfriend on the porch...making out really heavy. We didn't even know he was gay so it kinda came as a shock.

"I asked Heero what he thought about it and he started growling. He was just as jealous as I was, the thing was, I was also jealous that he was jealous. So, you have to understand, before Quat really turned into an asshole, I was spontaneous, even more so than during the war. Wufei went inside and his boyfriend left. We were on our way inside and I asked if he would care as much if I was the one who was being kissed and what he would do about it. He turned around, glared at me and kissed me on the spot." Duo finished his story and looked at Trowa.

"Wufei is the reason you two got together?" Trowa said as he smiled.

"Yeah and-" Pausing and pulling out his cell, Duo looked at the text message and smiled brightly. "Time to take you home."
