Chapter Three - Max\'s Joins the Group

Ian, Johnny and Tyson arrived back a couple of hours after they left. They had all of Rei’s stuff as well as an extra person. Tyson glanced across to the seat next to him where the blonde sat shivering tear streaks lined his face and his eyes were all puffy and red.
Ian, Johnny and Tyson had arrived at Rei’s apartment to find the blonde leaning against the front door crying his eyes out. The three startled Max so much that he had released his guardian spirit Draciel. Tyson had eventually calmed the blonde down long enough to find out that the blonde was Rei’s friend Max. The three boys had recalled Rei talking about him earlier and had decided to take him along with them.
They arrived back at the warehouse to find it silent so they parked the truck they had put Rei’s stuff in. The three boys led Max upstairs and while Ian and Johnny made warm drinks and got some food from the fridge. Tyson led Max around in search of Rei.
They found Rei sleeping soundly in Kai’s arms.
Tyson watched as this brought a smile to the blonde’s lips. Max walked forward and grabbing the blankets that were crumpled at the end of the bed, he pulled them up over the two and walked back over to Tyson.
Tyson nodded his head towards the door and Max nodded.
Max and Tyson walked back out to the kitchen and told Ian and Johnny about Kai and Rei. Ian was about to go and jump on the bed to annoy Kai when he was pulled into Johnny’s lap. Johnny had sat down on a chair at the kitchen table and was waiting for Max and Tyson to join him.

“It’s good to know Kai has found someone,” Johnny said.
“So why are you all here?” Max asked the three.
“Well it’s one of the reasons we brought you here. Honestly you’re not safe out there on your own. Kai’s grandfather is trying to steal all the guardian spirits. Kai broke away from his grandfather and is now protecting us and we’re all trying to figure out a way to stop Kai’s grandfather,” Johnny said.
“I see. Is that why Rei is here. Draciel told me that he sensed that Rei is the keeper of Drigger. Was he right?” Max said.
“Yep,” Tyson said.
“So Rei’s staying here to be safe,” Max said.
“Yes and you should too. Draciel’s obvious ability to sense other guardian spirits would come in handy,” Ian said.
“I could clean out a spare room for you,” Tyson said.
“If you think it best that I stay here and Rei is staying then I shall,” Max said.
“You seem fond of Rei,” Ian said.
“He’s like a big brother to me. He always protected me. Right through school and even now.” Max replied.
“He seems the type,” Tyson said, “I better start on the room.”
“Hang on a second Tyson. Your bed is big enough to share even if it’s just for tonight,” Ian said, “By the time you get one of the rooms cleaned out it’ll be morning anyway.”
“Ian has a point that’s if you don’t mind sharing a bed with Tyson,” Johnny said looking at Max.
Max shook his head and said, “I don’t mind. I really don’t want Tyson doing the room so late at night, anyway, if I am to stay then I should do it myself.”
“Well you’re not going to do it yourself period,” Tyson said.
“It’s settled then, “Johnny said, “Well I’m going to leave you. I’m as tired as hell.”
“Me too,” Ian said yawning and getting up so Johnny could stand, “I’ll see you in the morning.”

Max and Tyson watched as Ian and Johnny went into the third door on the right.
Max and Tyson soon followed. Tyson led Max to his room, which was directly across from Kai’s and next door to Ian and Johnny’s.
The two stripped down to their boxers and climbed into bed.
After a while Max started to shiver even though he was covered in three blankets.
Tyson reached over and grabbed Max pulling him into a hug. Max froze at first but soon snuggled into the embrace. The two fell asleep like that.

The next morning Rei awoke wrapped in the warmth of Kai’s arms. He smiled and snuggled further into the warmth.

“You cold?” Kai asked wrapping his arms tighter around Rei.
“A little,” Rei whispered falling back asleep.

Kai placed a kiss on the top of Rei’s head.
Kai was just falling back asleep when he heard his door creak open and pounding footsteps.
Suddenly someone launched themselves onto the bed followed by another.

“See what did I tell you,” Kai heard Ian say.
“Wow he’s a cute one,” said another voice.
“Enrique, Ian do you want to die?” Kai asked in a growl.
“No,” they said together.
“Then get out of my room,” Kai said giving them a death glare.
“Aww I just wanted to see,” Enrique said sulkily.
“So did you behave yourself or were you a bad boy?” Ian asked grinning.
“That’s none of your business,” Kai growled.
“Oliver is cooking breakfast,” Enrique said moving closer for a better look at Rei, “So you had better get moving.”

Enrique jumped when Rei’s eyes opened revealing golden orbs. Rei yawned, showing his fangs, and looked at the blonde that was looking at him with violet eyes.

“You’re Enrique right?” Rei asked blinking at the boy who had disturbed his slumber.
“That’s me,” Enrique said, “Everyone’s knight in shining armor.”

Rei smiled at him then snuggled back into Kai’s chest.

Enrique laughed and poked Rei’s hip softly, “You can have a nap later you have to come and eat breakfast. Oliver is cooking. He is the best cook in the world.”
Rei looked back up at Enrique and nodded, “Okay I’ll be there.”
“Brilliant,” Enrique said leaning forward and putting a quick kiss on the tip of Rei’s nose causing Rei to sneeze softly.

Enrique crawled down to the end of the bed and got off it. He ran out of the room only pausing to stop at the door and fiddle with the doorknob.
Ian who had been sitting beside Kai grinned at the blonde’s antics.
The kiss had left Rei a little shocked.

“Oliver’s cooking is the best. He’s just making pancakes this morning but even their top notch,” Ian said getting off the bed.
“Pancakes,” Rei said sitting up.
“Oh great I’m getting abandoned for pancakes,” Kai grumbled crossing his arms across his chest.

Rei looked at Kai and shook his head then pushing Kai’s arms away from his chest and pinning them beside their owner Rei leaned down and kissed the bluenette.
Kai kissed back licking Rei’s bottom lip. He felt Rei grin widely against his lips and pull away.

“No fair,” Kai whined.
“Get over it Kai. Oh by the way Rei when we went to get your stuff we found this guy out the front of your apartment crying. When he said his name was Max we remembered you mentioning him so we brought him back with us,” Ian said.
“Max is here,” Rei said crawling down to the end of the bed where Ian was.
“Yep he stayed in Tyson’s room. Tyson has taken quite a serious liking to him,” Ian said with a grin, “I’ll see you in the kitchen.”

With that Ian left. Rei stood on the floor at the end of the bed and stared the door, which Ian had closed on his way out.
Kai got up out of bed and wrapped his arms around Rei’s waist, placing his head on Rei’s shoulder he sighed.
Rei turned around in his arms and grinned at him.

“What are you grinning about?” Kai asked looking at him oddly.
“Enrique locked the door,” Rei said wrapping his arms around Kai’s neck.
“Remind me to give him a big kiss when we’re finished,” Kai whispered leaning in and kissing Rei.

Kai pulled back slightly and kissed Rei on the nose. Rei sneezed again softly.
Kai laughed at this, his hands resting on Rei’s hips.
Rei pushed Kai backwards and onto the bed, so Kai was laying with his legs over the edge of the bed, and straddled his hips.

“Don’t laugh at me. Just because my nose is extra sensitive doesn’t mean you can pick on me,” Rei said.

Kai grinned and bucked his hips upwards and ground them against Rei‘s. When their groins collided Rei threw his head back and moaned. He jutted his hip forwards in reply causing Kai to gasp.
Rei leaned down and kissed Kai hungrily. Kai ran his hands up Rei’s chest finding the raven-haired man’s nipples and tweaking them. Rei growled reaching up and grabbing hold of Kai’s hands he pinned them above the bluenette’s head.

“Come on you two breakfast is ready,” Ian called through the door.

The two on the bed broke apart and Kai growled.

“I’m going to tie him up, gag him and ship him off to the South Pole,” Kai said.

Rei climbed off the bluenette, picked his work shirt up off the floor and put in on. He planned to have a shower after breakfast.

“But you know what they say,” Rei said opening the door and looking back at Kai.
“No. What?” Kai asked.
“Good things come to those who wait,” Rei said before disappearing from view.
“But I have no patience what so ever,” Kai called out.
