Chapter 3 - Love Island
Bulma made her way to the lab with a confused frown on her face.
What was going on with Vegeta? He had been two-thousand miles away
when she asked what he wanted her to do. He almost looked annoyed
for a second when he finally snapped out of it.
Then the realization hit her, it wasn't that she dreaded it, she really
wanted to do whatever he asked.
"Why?" she asked herself aloud. Stopping in her tracks. It was
true that she was attracted to the rude Saiyan, but why the hell was she
so willing, let alone eager, to do whatever kink he could come up with.
Something happened in her capsule car when he kissed her. A door
opened in her mind and though it she could see her future. And every
aspect had Vegeta in it. The thought scared her. And it was
all started by a tiny peck on her cheek. She almost blushed when
she remembered that it was her that kissed him on the lips first.
They had Trunks together, but that first time he'd never kissed her.
Or the second time. But that was right after being in the Hyperbolic
time chamber for two years. It almost took her a week to recover
after that night.
But throughout the whthinthing, he'd never, ever kissed her lips.
Everywhere else, yes, but it wasn't the same. The kiss in the car
had been different. It had been wonderful. She had always wondered
if he was a good kisser or not. He was almost shy at first, but that
was over quick enough. And he wasn't a sloppy kisser like Yamcha.
She almost had to wipe the drool off her face every time he'd kissed her.
At first it had been kinda cute, but after awhile it disgusted her.
She liked how Vegeta kissed. His lips were soft, and
the more she'd kissed him the more she wanted to. She felt herself
growing aroused.
"Stop this!" she commanded and quickened her pace. As soon as
she got some work in front of her she would be able to forget Vegeta for
awhile.
Vegeta sat up, blinking in the sunlight. The sheer, white curtains
billowing in the warm breeze did little to keep the light out. He
looked at the clock. 7:30. damn it. He cursed.
He'd slept almost three hours! He had training to do…
He sighed and rose to his feet. What was the point of training
again? He wondered. There was none. He climbed over the
window sill and floated to the ground. He refused to spend the rest
of the day in bed. There were several rural islanurrourrounding Japan.
He could find one and not be bothered by anyone, but there were humans
there none the less. He scratched his chin and tried to think.
Bulma had mentioned a few places on Earth that were uninhabited for the
most part but many were on the other side of the globe. Flying that
far would take up too much energy. And he wasn't really feeling up
to flying to the other side of the hemisphere. He walked back inside
and into the kitchen and quickly made himself a huge sandwich.
He wanted to go someplace far from any ningen. He didn't know
why he'd kissed the onna earlier. He'd never kissed anyone before.
But at that moment it had been the only thing he'd wanted to do, she'd
been crying because of him and for some reason he felt.. bad about it.
As soon as she threw herself in his arms he had reacted instantly and embraced
her and kissed her! And then she had kissed him, and then they had
their tongues practically jammed down each other's throats as they attempted
to tear their clothes off.
But then she stopped him. She still had difficulty grasping the
concept of Saiyan healing and made him go to the hospital so they could
stitch him up. It was revolting. And he was still angry about
it. And then she had asked him what he wanted like she was doing
him a favor! That had really burned.  was was pissed off, and
confused. Did she want him or did she just want.. what? What
the hell did she want exactly?!
He growled angrily and took off into the air, not caring where he would
go or how long it took to get there.
Bulma was engrossed in her new collapsing worker-bot module. She
was trying to perfect the design that allowed it to collapse in on itself
without destroying essential functioning parts. So far it was more
difficult than she had expected. And as absorbing as her work was she was
still thinking about the Saiyan no Ouji. She wondered what he was
doing. He obviously wasn't training. The gravitron always made
a loud humming noise when it was being used not to mention the groaning
steel cause by Vegeta's energy blasts.
In fact, she was having trouble remembering the last time he'd been
in it all day long. She sighed and brushed her hair out of her face.
She couldn't concentrate as long as Vegeta was in her thoughts. With
an exasperated sigh she got up and began to search for him. But when
I find him.. what then? She wondered.
The kitchen was empty, his room the same. No one in the living
room. Not in the GR.
"Where did he go?" she wondered aloud. Was he upset about
something? Was he bec because they didn't just screw in her car?
She growled in irritation and stomped back to her lab after fixing a small
dinner.
Vegeta landed in the middle of the desert. The arid, hot wind
blew stinging sand at him but he didn't care. He sat down with a
grunt. He had to figure some things out before he went anywhere else.
What is my problem? He wondered, thinking of Bulma's earlier question.
Was he really upset about being the last Saiyan? He sighed as he
thought about it. A hollow ache filled him and he realized that he
did feel very alone. It wasn't that he'd never known loneliness.
He did practically every day of his life. But now it was different
for some reason. He was the last Saiyan no Ouji. The last Saiyan.
His planet and people had been gone a long time. He had dealt with
that fact since he was ten years old. Why did it bother him so much
now? True there had been Nappa and Radditz and finally Kakao
(o
(who really didn't count anyway) and maybe because they had been around
he hadn't felt so alone. But now they were all gone. And he
couldn't wish back Radditz or Nappa. The dragon balls only resurrected
someone a year after their death. Nappa and Radditz had been dead
at least four years.
There was nothing he could do. And there was no one who could
understand him. He gave the onna credit for trying, but she'd never
really be able to. What was the worst thing that had happened to
her? She hadn't gotten beaten nearly everyday for years and years.
And she was surrounded by people who loved her. Did she ever have
to face hatred, racial prejudice, and mockery every day? Did she
ever have to fear that each day was her last? Did she ever have to
guard everything she said? Did she ever have to bow down to someone
she hated and feared? If someone had killed her whole family, what
would she do? What if the same person held her life in its hands?
He sighed. She would never know how he felt or what he'd been
through. He wasn't even sure she would be able to survive such a
thing. Not only was she weak but she was female. She'd probably
kill herself if she'd had to put up with all he had.
But she tried to understand. And no one else did. No one
else gave a shit. At least she did. She didn't pity him and
if she did she never showed it and for that he was grateful at least.
He knew that the "Z Fighters" hated him and he didn't doubt that they talked
shit about him behind his back.
But he really didn't care about them. They were a pack of fools.
Yamcha he hated the most of all. He was such a coward it made him
sick. Why he ever trained to be a fighter he would never know.
Krillin was almost as bad, but not quite. He at least showed courage
at times, few as they were. Tien, the three-eyed freak. He
hated him with a passion. He was the only ningen (or whatever he
was) who had enough balls to tell Vegeta what he thought of him to his
face. He admired that quality, but nothing more.
In fact he was suspicious of Tien on a whole for the sole reason named
Chao Tzu. What the hell was it anyway? It was horrifying actualnbspnbsp;
Its face was a white mask with rosy painted-on cheeks. It was a worthless
fighter but the triclops had acted like it was the end of the world when
it blew itself up. He shook himself all over as a shudder of disgust
raced through his body.
Kakarotto's mate. Now there was a woman he absolutely despised.
She had to be the stupidest bitch he'd ever encountered. Loud, mean,
belittling, demanding. What was her purpose? Sure, she'd given
birth to Gohan, he was almost worth the name Saiyan. Almost.
Kakarotto was pussy-whipped to take her mouth. Vegeta wanted
nothing more than to smack her each time he saw her. Every time she
raised her voice he wanted to scream: "SHUT UP!!" just last month he'd
seen her too. The stupid bitch was visiting Bulma and SHE had the
audacity to look at him like he was scum.
"It's YOUR fault my Goku is dead." She said, with accusing, hateful
eyes. Surprisingly, (especially to Vegeta) he smiled. A real smile,
not the usual sneer.
"It's YOUR fault he didn't want to be wished back. Bitch."
And with an almost sweet smile he turned his back, ignoring Bulma's horrified
gasp. He heard the chairs scrape and stopped in his tracks.
He turned to see her reaction and she was in his face.
"HOW DARE YOU!!" she screamed. "Goku loves me! It's YOUR
fault Cell got soong!ong! YOURS! You and your pride! What the
hell do you have to be proud of, murderer?!" Vegeta felt flecks of
her spit hit his face as she screamed.
And suddenly the world was red.
He heard Bulma screaming and felt someone punching the back of his
head as hard as they could, and surprisingly, it hurt. His hands
were wrapped around ChiChi's throat and her face was almost purple.
"Let her go!" a familiar voice screamed. Then his vision cleared,
feeling came back to him, and he almost flew through the wall as an even
more powerful punch connected with his skull. The pain was enough
to weaken his grip and ChiChi slumped to the floor gasping. He realized
that his attacker was Gohan and the boy had gone SSJ. Vegeta could
feel blood leaking down the back of his neck. He went SSJ and it
was all he could do to keep the rabid demi-Saiyan off of him.
Vegeta though for a se abo about how humiliated he would be to get
beaten by the brat a second time, but that anger wasn't enough. He
could still hear Bulma screeching like a dying cat as her home was being
destroyed. He could do nothing but block the incoming blows.
"DON'T YOU EVER TOUCH HER AGAIN OR I'LL KILL YOU!!" Gohan raged.
And then Gohan screwed up. He spit right in Vegeta's face.
Vegeta still couldn't remember what happened after that but after the bloody
mist dimfor for the second time he felt needles over and over again.
Whatever had been in them had him so out of it that he was comatose
for the rest of the day. And toward the end of the night, he got
his first experience of being violently ill.
Maybe it was the combination of the concussion he'd gotten from being
punched in the head and the drugs, or maybe it was the fact that Bulma
had given him way too much. But whatever it was he came to himself
with his head in the toilet.
It had to have been the worst moment in his life. His guts felt
full of writhing snaknd nnd no matter how many times he vomited, his stomach
still would heave. Around dawn he was still lying on the bathroom
floor gagging.
Then next day he slept in the bathroom. Still in the same spot.
Still in the same, bloody clothes, still out of it.
He almost woke durine dae day to someone slapping his face. He
remembered trying to open his eyes, but it just was impossible. For
two weeks after that Bulma avoided him. In fact everyone did.
And amazingly, it angered him to be treated so when he didn't even know
what he'd done. He barely could remember what he did to ChiChi.
He should have warned Bulma that it could happen. That his tolerance
snapped at times, he went crazy, beat the shit out of anyone close, and
never remembered a thing about it whe fin finally snapped out of it.
After another week of being avoided like Typhoid Mary he spotted Bulma.
She turned around and began to walk the other way as soon as she saw him.
He growled low in his throat and phased out to reappear in front of her.
She flinched away.
"Get the hell away from me!" she screamed, cringing in terror.
And his heart sank. He was hurt, he couldn't believe it.
"I don't remember!" he crie exa exasperation. "Tell me what I
did! I can't remr!"&r!" She gave him a look that clearly said:
"Your full of shit."
"Liar!" she hissed trying to go around him.
"I'm not!" he screamed in her face. "When have I ever lied to
you? Why the hell should I? I'm telling the truth!"
"How can I believe that! I saw what happened! You’re a fucking
psycho!!" more pain. Right in the center of his chest.
All the anger immediately faded and he could see the surprise on Bulma's
face.
"Fine." He said and turned away and headed to his room.
He searched through his dresser for everything that he'd had on him when
he came to Earth before he realized he'd had nothing. He sat there
for a moment in defeat. The only person who gave a rats-ass about
him now hated him with a flaming passion. And it hurt. And
he wanted to bgry, gry, but he couldn't. he didn're are about what
he'd done in all honesty, but to see hatred for him shining in Bulma's
eyes hurt incredibly. He didn't even notice her walk in.
"You really.. don't remember?" he didn't look up.
"Does it really matter to you?" he said softly.
"Yes." She said, equally soft. He sighed, raking a hand through
his stiff locks.
"I should have warned you better I guess." He saidsp; sp; "It doesn't
happen too much. In fact it hasn't in a long, long time. Let
alone twice in one day."
"What happened?" she asked still standing stiffly in the door.
"I saw red."
"And-?" she prompted. He turned to look at her at last.
"And what? I saw red. That's it. I saw red
then Gohan spit in my face." He frowned deeply at the memory. "I
saw red again. That's it. Then I was sick all night.
That's it."&nbShe She was silent for a long, long time and during that
whole agonizing silence they stared into each other's eyes.
"I believe you." She said. "You almost killed ChiChi and Gohan.
And me. And my parents. And almost half the people on the block.
I really wish you would have told me about this. This whole thing
could have been prevented." Vegeta snarled in anger.
"If that stupid bitch hadn't said anything to me NONE of this would
have happened! And don't try and pretend you don't know it!" he snapped.
"Your right." Bulma conceded. At last she seemed to relax and
sat down next to him. "I'm sorry I gave you too much tranquilizer.
I didn't think you had any head injuries, though I should have. But
at the time it didn't matter. I had to stop you. I'm sorry
you got so sick."
"Don't apologize. Just stop acting like you have. I don't
like it anymore." He almost didn't catch the lof sof surprise on
her face.
"Vegeta," she began, her voice just shy of teasing. "Did
you miss me?"
"No!" he snapped feeling his face grow hot. "It just-" He was
silent for a moment. "It reminds me of things." She mercifully
didn't question him about it.
"Dinner is at six." She said, standing up to leave.
"I know."
"I know you know." She walked to the door and stopped, turning
to look at him again. "Please Vegeta. I really can't take this
if it happens again. I don't want to be afraid of you." And
then she was gone.
"I don't want you to either." He murmured.
