*It is... I'm back... It took some one calling me an obsessed fan boy to realise that I had to go back...

*So you have come full circle? You left because of Rei and now your back because of him...

I hear the pain in his voice.

*Not quite... Bryan, when you used to talk about that person you couldn't have... It was me wasn't it?

*It was... It still is... But I know that you only want Rei...

*That’s were you're wrong... I want a second chance Bryan... I left because of Rei... I stayed away because of me... And I came back because of you... I have missed you... More then I've been able to understand... I know I've hurt you with all the talk about Rei, by staying away... But please, give me a second chance?

During my little speech he has just stared at me in disbelief, but now a small smile is appearing on those beautiful pale lips of his. Not being a man of many words he just leans in and kisses me. My entire being is screaming with happiness. I wrap my arms around his neck as he starts to explore my mouth with his tongue and closes his arms around my waist. I don't care about anything but the perfect harmony that our body moves in at that moment. I'm his, fully and completely. Unfortunately we do need to breath and we pull away, panting slightly.

*Just don't leave again Kai... What ever comes along we can deal with it.

*I won’t... But I will take you with me to South America sometime... To show you the beauty that lies there.

*Is that's were you have been?

*Yes. Mostly in Brazil, but I have been all over the continent... You would like the Andes Bryan.

*I'd love to see them... Who's the girl by the way?

*That's Laia; there is really no other way of describing her... Laia is Laia....

I turn my head to watch her and I see her dancing close to Kevin, talking.

*That's strange...

*What is?

*She is talking to him... She usually just dances them senseless and then drags them to the hotel... She's a big time player, doesn't like love commitments... But I guess she can change too...

*Kai?

*Yes?

*Does this means that you are coming back to the Demolition boys too?

*If I'm wanted... I haven't bladed in three years...

*We want you back. We'll get you in shape again.
He smirks at me.

*We should go to the rest... Don't be surprised if Tala starts to cry though... I think he has missed you almost more then I have... In a different way though...

*I guess there is no point in delaying it. But I want Laia with me.

I turn to Laia and motion to her to get closer. She takes Kevin’s hand and they walk over to us.

^I told you it would work out fine.

^Yeah, yeah, you were right, happy now?

^Very. So I guess we are on the way to reintroduce you?

*Yes.

The four of us moves toward the rest of the bladers, Kevin looking very confused.
Bryan holds my hand and when we reach the others it's he that starts the talking.

*Look what I found guys!

*A boy toy? Tala smirks back at him.

*No. A boyfriend and a team mate.

*What?! What the fuck are you tripping on Bry! We don't need a new team mate. And even if we did, you don't even know this guy and it's not your fucking decision to make!

Tala stands up and moves towards us. I move in front of Bryan, seems that Tala hasn't lost his temper after all...

*Listen Tala, I know it's your decision. And I don't even know if I'm good enough anymore. But I really would like to come home.

He is taken aback, but I see that he has understood. He looks a bit like a fish on dry land.

*It can't bee...

He says and starts crying! Then he throws him self around my neck.

*Easy Tal, you're scaring the rest of them. I say and stroke his back.

*I don't care!!! You're back! I've missed you so damn much! And I've been so worried!

*I can take care of myself you know...

*Physical I have never doubted you, but you fell for that dammed two timing idiot!

*I know, I was stupid... But I'm smarter now, promise...

Spencer and Ian have made their way over to us to now and when Tal lets go I'm picked up by Spencer. Literally picked up! It feels like he is about to crack my ribs.

*Glad your back, little brother.

He puts me down and I get a hug from Ian to.

*Stay with us this time?

*I will. I won't run away...

-And I won't go to a team that gives up so easy on a team mate.
I finish in English and by doing so I get the attention of the rest of them.

-What are you implying? Tyson says

-That you were very quick to declare your captain dead.

-I'm telling you, the only reason Kai would stay away from us is that he's dead! Rei says.

Laia starts laughing and I can't help but smile to.

-What's so funny dance girl? Rei spits at her

-You! Oh my god Alex, I thought you said this guy was smart.

-Must have been mistaken, then again, I was wrong about a lot of things back then...

-Alex? Spencer says

-Alexander, his middle name. Bryan says. Ivan Kai Alexander Hiwatari....

-KAI?!?! The rest of them scream. I just smile and nod.

-See? He's not dead. Tala says

-Where the hell have you been?!?!? Tyson screams.

-South America; trying to find my own path in life. And I've realised that it starts in the Andes and ends in Moscow...

Normal pov

Rei got up and moved towards Kai. His mind racing, how could Kai have done this to them? He didn't really know what happened, but when he reached his former captain he slapped him. Bryan and Laia growled and moved forward, only to be stopped by Kais outstretched arm

-I'll handle this on my own. What was that for Rei?

-You just disappeared! Not a word for three years!

-And what does it matter to you?

The calmness of Kai was surprising to everyone but Laia. Through the years she had known him he had turned into the calmest person she knew. It would take a nuclear blast to make him angry. He was the complete opposite to her. He had told her that he had used to have one hell of a temper, she believed him, but she had never really seen it.

-You were our captain! You were supposed to lead us, not desert us! For three years! We needed you!

-I don’t see any of the others slapping me. I didn't ask what it mattered to the team; I asked what it mattered to YOU.

-I... I... I thought you were dead for god’s sake!

-I know that. I don't understand how you of all people could think that, but I know you did. And I must say that you all think rather highly of your self to think that death was the only thing that could keep me from you.

-But you... you said... you said you...

-Loved you? Yes, I did. Didn't do me any good though, did it? I've also realised that it was never really love, just an obsession, an addiction. The one I really loved was to close for me to see... But I'm wiser now...

Bryan stepped up behind Kai and wrapped his arms around Kais waist pulling his back to his own chest.

-Wait! Loved?!? As in the romantic way? Mariah asked

-Yes. Did you really think that you were the only one that wanted him?

-Why haven't you told me Rei? Why did you want him to be your best man if you knew?

-I've been wondering about that to Rei. It was a rather cruel thing to say... Did you really think that I would have agreed?

-I don't know... I don't know... I don't know anything any more... Did you really not love me?

-I thought I did at the time... But it wasn't true... It wasn't real...

Rei started to cry, his eyes locked with Kais.

-Why does it matter Rei? You have what you wanted. You told me at this very place that you would always stay with her.

-That's why you ran away?

-It was a big reason, yes. I knew I couldn't keep torturing my self.

Kai was very careful not to mention anything that could imply that they actually had had a relationship. He did this for Mariah’s sake. She didn't deserve to be told that her husband had cheated on her with another man in the middle of a club. The only thing she had done was love Rei. Kai had never blamed her, sure he didn't like her. But that was not because of her relationship with Rei, but rather because of her personality.

They all remained silent, just looking at Kai and Rei. Suddenly Lee understood and his eyes widened. All the things Tala had said... "Kai ran because his heart kept breaking here" "I won't come to the wedding! It's a matter of pride!" All the little things... Rei had been involved with Kai... Behind Mariah’s back! He had used both of them! He had never thought Rei would do something so low! Lee let out a growl and stepped up to the ex-lovers.

-How could you Rei? How could you use them! Have you ever loved any one? Because if you have I really don't understand how you could do this!

-Lee... Kai said.

-No! Why don't you just tell the truth, why are you protecting him?

-I'm not...

-Why then? How long did it last? How long did he use you?

-This is not the time or the place... Kai started only to be interrupted by Mariah

-You... You cheated on me? With him?

Rei nodded and bowed his head.

-For how long? How long were we two?
Rei didn't answer so she turned to Kai

-How long Kai? And why DO you protect him, Lee is right!

-I don't try to protect him... I tried to protect you...And I don't think time is important.

-It is!!!

-Since the whole team psychic thing... Rei was very weak but they all heard it.

-Oh my god! Max and Tyson said.

-Did you know? Mariah asked the Russians who simply nodded.

-Why didn't you tell me? Why did you let me marry him?

-It was not our thing to tell, Tala said, besides, since Kai ran of we figured that Rei had chose you... And we knew you loved him...

-I don't any more! You can go to hell Rei Kon! I'm having a divorce the second we come home! Just tell me one thing; did you ever love anyone of us?

Rei nodded, tears streaming down his face.

-Who?

-Kai...

-Then why didn't you go with him?

-I didn't want to be judged... To be thrown out of the village for ever...
Unknown to Rei this stirred up a lot inside Lee.

Mariah left, closely followed by Hillary and Emily.

-I never thought you could be so cruel Rei... Tyson said and he, Daichi, Kenny and Max followed the girls.

Bryan let go of Kai and stepped back which made Kai turn

-What is it?
-I understand if you want to go to him...
-No! Stupid, haven't you heard what I've said? I want you... I came back for you...
Kai moved closer to Bryan
*I couldn't see it back then because it was too real... It was easier to go with the physical attraction I had for Rei, then to risk my heart to something that really mattered. When my life was chaos I called you. I always ran to you... Because I LOVE YOU! I will prove it to you, even if it takes the rest of my life...
Then he placed a soft kiss on Bryan’s lips. Bryan couldn't help but respond, he did love Kai and Kai had just chosen him... It was still unbelievable to him, but this was what he had dreamt about for years...

The Majestics and the All Stars had left, leaving the Demolition boys, the remaining White tigers and Laia.

-Should we go after Mariah Lee? Gary wondered.

-You go if you want to Gary, Kevin... I will not return with you to China...
Tala’s head snapped to Lee, staring at him
-What do you mean Lee? Kevin asked
-This.
Lee stepped up to Tala and kissed him. Tala looked a bit choked but very pleased.

Gary looked as if he was going to threw up and more or less ran out of the room. Rei looked totally choked and Kevin started to laugh.
Lee pulled away from Tala and looked at Kevin

-What's so funny?
-Nothing really... just happy that some one finally managed to win your heart. I wasn't prepared for it to be him though. But guys, I think we should get out off here. Before we start a fight... Seems to be some homophobes here to...

Kai scanned the room and realised that Kevin was right, a lot of people looked at them with hate.

-Yeah... Let's go back to our apartment. Some how I get the feeling that Rei isn't very welcome at your hotel right now.... Tala said

-I can come with you?
They all looked at Kai.

-Yes. I have some things to talk to you about any way... And we're not leaving you to freeze out in the streets are we Laia?
-My revenge went a bit further then I wanted it to... Of course he can come with us. Rei, listen, you hurt my baby brother and I wanted to hurt you for it. But this was not what I wanted. Not for you or for her. But make your choices more wisely in the future.

-Who's she by the way? Tala asked as they made their way out.
-Laia. She has taken on the role as my big sister, so think you and she will get along fabulously. As you heard she is as protective of me as you are, in a different way though...
-What have you been doing these three years?
-Hurtling cattle’s, lived in the rainforest for a while, hiked the Andes, riding rodeo... Basically anything that was outside and physical work.
-Including working on a fishing boat...
-Don't remind me Laia!
Laia laughed softly
-What happened Kai? Bryan asked
-Nothing really, I was rather good at it. But it was a pain to live so close with ten other people for two months. We hardly ever went ashore and there is only so much space on a boat....
-He ran of into the mountains for two months when he came back.
-Sounds like our Kai, Tala smirked
-It still feels a bit weird to be called that again...

-You know, lets head to the shrine before we go home. Bryan said
-Sure.

They walked across the city talking about old times and new. Laia liked these boys; it felt good to leave Alex with them...
When they arrived at the shrine Bryan pulled out a small pocket knife and made a cut across his palm and fell to his knees. Then he placed his bleeding hand on the statues sword, letting the blood trickle down and mumbled something before getting up again.

^Why did he do that?
^The Asatro is a religion of offerings. In the old times they even made human sacrifices, nowadays it's usually just ordinary things. Blood offerings are really rare and powerful...
Kai moved up to Bryan and took the knife and repeated the other boy’s actions. When he stood up Tala asked
-Does this mean that you are a believer again?
-Guess it does... This is where I belong. The Gods brought me home again and I thought I ought to thank them for it.
-Guess we sent the same pray then, Bryan said and kissed him.
-Probably not completely... I offered them thanks for you giving me a second chance too...
-I guess I should offer thanks to... Can I borrow the knife Bry? Tala said and he too made a cut across his hand and got to his knees but Lee joined him. Not with a cut but he simply placed his own hand on top of Tala’s on the sword. Tala looked curiously at his lover.
-You need to teach me this religion of yours. I don't have one of my own any more...
-I will tell you... But now I'm going to give this pray... Tala closed his eyes and he spoke in a soft voice, barley hearable

to tell him how much he means to me, how much I love him.

-You just did....
Lee had tears in his eyes when Tala opened his eyes again. They had been lovers for two years but he had never heard his love speak in this way...It was now totally clear that he had made the right choice. Here, with Tala, that was where he belonged.
Bryan had pulled Kai closer to him and Kevin had wrapped his arms around Laia. Spencer and Ian just stood there, arms wrapped around each other. And Rei realised exactly how lonely he was now...
