Maes: Why Edo kun! You look adorable, just like my little Elysia!
Ed: Get me the hell out of this! I hate you all!
Isirius: now Ed, you know you have to look good for all the nice people who came to read about you.
Roy: And that slit shows your thighs ever so nicely *licks lips*
Ed: Perverts!
Isirius: ah ah ah, Ed, don’t want to upset the writer *grin*
Ed: ….sorry…
Isirius: that’s a good Edo kun. Now give us a nice twirl.
Fullmetal Alchemist… not mine… did I leave anything out?
Chapter 3: You lost what?!?
The troops Roy sent to retrieve Ed came back empty handed, much the worse for wear. When questioned, they said they hadn’t seen who attacked them, just a whole lot of dirt walls closing in. Al remained in Central to participate in the State Alchemist exam, using his time before hand to brush up on his basics. Winry went home soon enough, and continued to update Al on Ed’s progress. Two months later Al got bad news. Ed had run off.
Al passed the exam and became the Full Armor Alchemist, the name reminiscent of his former body. Over the next few years he received letters from Ed telling him about all the places he had gone to, but never actually saw him in person. Winry would write when Ed would show up unexpectedly needing his automail fixed for some reason, but he always vanished again soon after.
Three years after he got his body back, grandma Pinako died. The funeral was short, and Al left soon after to go back to work. He had really made a name for himself in the military, his cool concentration and quick wit keeping him from the pitfalls Ed’s temper had gotten him into. His youthful appearance made others underestimate him just long enough to give him the upper hand, and he was becoming quite an asset to Mustang. There were rumors of another promotion in the mix.
Winry took on a new assistant by the name of Sarah a few months later, and for all accounts Sarah was good at what she did, if a little short tempered. It wasn’t long before she was dragged into State business though. Somewhere in her fourth month on the job she answered a phone call from the military…
“Rockbell Automail, this is Sarah speaking…”
“Sarah, is it? You must be the new girl Al was talking about. This is Colonel Hughes speaking. I was wondering if Miss Rockbell was around.”
“Sorry, sir, she just stepped out. Is there a message you would like to leave?”
“Actually, maybe you can help. You wouldn’t happen to know if Edward Elric happens to be there, would you?”
“Al’s brother? No, he hasn’t stopped by lately. Were you trying to reach him?”
“Yes, I have a few things I need his help on. Do you know how to get in touch with him?”
“Yes, he did leave instructions, but he said they were only to be used for an emergency. Is this an emergency?”
“Well… yes it is. His brother Al... he’s missing. We think Ed might know how to find him.”
“Missing?! You mean you lost him? Where?”
“A little town called Neservetin. He was gathering some routine info when we lost communications.”
“Neservetin. Alright, I’ll see what I can do.”
“Thanks Sarah, I hope we can meet soon.”
“…That would be nice. Goodbye sir.”
“Bye.”
Sarah put down the phone, her gold braid swinging in the wind. She wrote out a quick note for Winry and went to start packing.
‘Well this will be interesting’ she thought to herself.
