Chapter 3
*wide eyes* thank you for all the reviews and you were told to read this? That truly is an honor, having one of my things recomended. Thank you!
And here's the next chapter.
By the end of the day curiosity had gotten the best of him, leading him to hunt down the one person he knew could help him, Kai Hiwatari. And as usual, he could count on Kai disappearing right when he needed him.
Rei wasn’t disappointed. After an hour of searching and Tyson alerting him to the fact that Kai had indeed not been around all day he was about ready to give up, swearing at Russians in general under his breath as he stalked through the thick snow.
Now he was cold and annoyed but he couldn’t return to his hospital room without getting in some sort of trouble. Rei mentally groaned, wrapping his arms around his body as he shivered, turning to head back to the hotel.
“What do we have here,” a voice sneered from behind him, causing Rei to freeze. “Looks like a lost pussy.”
Rei narrowed his eyes at that, turning around. The Demolition Boys, just his luck. Cold emotionless eyes were locked on him as he tightened his grip on the letter.
“I was just going back,” Rei muttered, turning to leave as Bryan snatched the letter before laughing.
“Softly it caresses your cheek
black the color of my love
through the cold bitter night
your beauty comes forth
melting the cold around my heart”
Bryan sneered at that. “A love poem,” he said with a sadistic smirk.
Tala grabbed it away from his shorter teammate. “Your Russian’s good, you giving this to Hiwatari?”
“No….” Rei said, staring with wide eyes as the red head ripped it into shreds.
“Then you won’t be needing that,” he said, dropping the pieces to the snow as Rei stared on in horror.
Rei blinked, gasping at that as he watched the Demolition Boys leave, laughing at him. It had to be Kai that sent the rose. They were too cruel to do something like that.
Clenching his fist he gazed up at the falling snow. And as soon as he found him they would have a lot to talk about.
“Rei! What are you doing out of your room?” At that his head sunk, able to picture Mariah standing behind him with her balled hands on her hips.
“I was looking for Kai,” he murmured.
“You’re going to catch your death of cold out here!”
“Yes mother.” Talking with Kai would have to wait.
Rei was more than confused, finding Kai standing by his bed, and now had a sudden urge to bash his head against the wall. A nerve popped as he stepped forward towards his captain. “Where have you been?”
“I can go where I like. You on the other hand belong in bed.” Rei pouted slightly, collapsing onto his bed. “They said you were looking for me.”
“Uh… yeah,” Rei glanced down, staring at the dirty floor. “Did you… did you…”
“Did I what?” The crimson eyes turned, staring down at Rei.
“Did you leave me that rose!”
Kai however didn’t even blink at that. “No,” he said plainly.
“But the poem, it was written in Russian!” Rei instantly felt his heart breaking. If Kai didn’t write it it was some one else. And the other prospects scared him.
Slowly the crimson eyes narrowed. “I have more important things to do than write sappy poetry. Sentiments like that are for the weak. All that matters is that I become a stronger blader and defeat Tyson.”
“Sorry,” he muttered, mentally crossing Kai off the list of people it could be and silently praying it was Spencer, who seemed to be nicest of the Demolition Boys. In fact he was praying for anyone but Bryan. At that he watched Kai stalk off as he sunk deeper into the bed but not before noticing another rose. He lifted it up, gazing at the note attached. This time it read in Japanese.
Meet me in the park at sundown.
