Ch.2
Chapter 2.
Vegeta stood not far from his rival and friend’s side, his eyes locked onto the strange duo the entire time. Goku was too busy reminiscing and chuckling to truly notice, until his name was called. Walking to the box Goku placed his hand inside of the box, and felt a ball press forcefully against his hand. Someone was trying to rig the tournament. Frowning Goku’s expression went serious as he knocked the ball away, choosing another one. As he pulled it out he chuckled, announcing the number loudly. Turning he walked back towards his friends, allowing himself to scan the crowd for any signs of the person who was trying to rig the tournament. It was missed at first, but as he leaned against the wall, he noticed the set of eyes locked onto him.
Noticing Goku’s serious expression, Piccolo coughed to get his attention. “Goku…is there a reason you’re having a staring match with that person?” He noticed the male move his eyes towards Piccolo, before he turned to speak with his comrade. “Why does he look familiar? I have a bad feeling…”
Goku chuckled, smiling that usual smile of his. “Eh, I don’t think we have anything to worry about, it’s not like we would have another ‘Buu’ incident!” Goku chuckled, almost laughing, but his eyes were not on Kaido, but his partner.
Vegeta watched them both, watching and waiting. He almost felt like he wanted to go and either kill that man or…well kill that man. It was annoying, for some reason, it only seemed to grow stronger as the seconds passed. Soon Goku, who informed him he was being called, backhanded Vegeta. Snuffing Vegeta walked to the box, grumbling as his hand was shoved into the box, only to be knocked out, a ball in it. Blinking Vegeta looked at the ball with a raised eyebrow. “wha-“ the announcer took the ball, announcing his number. “Damn…” Vegeta turned back towards his comrades, frowning as he ignored the fact that Goku was one of the last to fight, and he was first. Snuffing Vegeta leaned against the wall, looking back at the figure he had stared at before, who was lowering two fingers he had raised at his hip. “He didn’t just do…”
Piccolo frowned, nodding. “He is rigging the competition, for some reason. He tried with Goku as well. He seems to want to keep you two apart…for what reason I don’t understand.”
Kaido’s name was called near last, leaving him and his comrade one fight apart. With his name called, Kaido chuckled, walking proudly, and somewhat cocky, to the box. He didn’t even place a hand inside before his hand was forced out, the ball in it. Glaring Kaido locked eyes with his smiling partner before he tossed the ball to the announcer. Kaido’s name was placed with Vegeta’s, before he walked to his friend, about to punch him. So close, but as silver walked to the box his name was put with the last pairing, Goku’s. Goku looked over at his opponent, before he heard Kaido’s angry words.
“No! He was supposed to be Mine! Not My-” Realizing his voice was loud, silver clapped a hand over Kaido’s mouth, frowning. Pulling his face from his friend’s hand, he glared at him once more. “You better be ready to kick ass…because I want You at the end!” Silver laughed as he ignored Kaido’s comment, walking off, leaving Kaido to fallow after, fuming.
Piccolo looked from Goku to Vegeta, frowning. “I do believe this is about you two personally…the one called Kaido seems pissed he won’t be able to fight you Goku.”
Vegeta frowned, almost growling as he glared at Kaido’s back. “Oh? So I’m not Good enough for that fucker?!” Goku went to interrupt, but Vegeta’s hand raised, nearly smacking the other in the face. “Not a word Kakorot! He will pay! Our match will have to wait…He has my rage first! I’ll beat that little look-alike into pulp!”
“Look-alike? So you noticed it as well…” Piccolo looked to Goku, and saw his thoughtful expression. “We have all noticed it then…Do you think they could be partially the same person?”
Silver’s ear twitched as he elbowed his friend. “Yo Kaido, they suspect. Should we just let it out?”
Kaido shook his head softly, sighing. “Not until I can get Kakorot…I mean Goku alone…”
Piccolo tensed as he heard Kaido using Goku’s saiyan name. Shaking his head he leaned against the wall, looking down as he went through his own raging thoughts, trying to collect them. Goku, not engrossed in his own rampant thoughts, did manage to notice the tensing, and frowned. “What was it Piccolo? You know something we don’t…is it trouble?”
Piccolo shook his head slightly, still unsure. “…No…No there is no trouble…not at the moment…at least none that I can see.” Piccolo’s head jerked up as he heard the Announcer calling out the pairings to the audience. “Well Vegeta…you’ll have your chance with that one soon enough…You two are the first to fight.”
Vegeta rose his gloved hands, cracking his knuckles as he let his lips slowly curve into a dangerous smirk. “Good…I haven’t had a decent fight in a year!” Vegeta walked out towards the ring when his name was announced, locking his eyes onto Kaido’s back as he moved onto the raised ring. “Finally You will answer some questions!”
Kaido let his lips curve into a dark smirk as he spoke over his shoulder, not even attempting to face Vegeta. “Oh?…And what about you? Do you think You can get away without answering questions yourself?” Vegeta went to comment, but the movement of Kaido’s sash caught his attention, forcing Vegeta’s head to snap up as his opponent took to the air. “Catch me if you can!”
