Dragonball E
Chapter 3
By B. Amos (formerly Reppa)

"You're gonna let Vegeta do what?!" Krillin screamed so the whole neighborhood could hear, even though that wasn't really his intention.
"Wish Goku's brother back to life." Bulma huffed. She had said it a good five times and she wasn't sure how many more she had to go through before he got the point. The others looked skeptical and she waved off their worry, "Vegeta says he won't cause any trouble. Honest, I can't see him doing much harm myself."
"Which one are we talking about?" Piccolo arched a brow.
The saiyajin prince gave him an amused look. "The one that came here, fool..."
"We had two come here, so you need to specify."
Bulma joined Vegeta in his confusion as she blinked at the namekian, but the prince snorted. "Kakarot has only one brother that I know of. Who else are you talking about, namek?" He arched a brow, trying to think of the other saiyajin's family tree. There were a few potential candidates but none he could see arriving to Earth.
"I can only assume he was related to Goku, damn near could have been his twin." The namekian snorted, turned to the much shorter warrior next to him, relating to him the events around the Tree of Might incident he obviously missed, "We never really caught his name...How did you not know?"
"Hmph! I can't keep track of every potential saiyajin body that may or may not have been on Vegetasei when Frieza destroyed it but this is good news. Yes, he was indeed related to Kakarot and Raditz if I recall correctly...Not sure where he fell in the family tree exactly. Turles...He left service under Frieza to start his own planet conquering ring. Rather ambitious if not dangerous move. Frieza was quite angry...Woman, I'll be wishing him back as well." Vegeta smirked, he was entirely too pleased. There was only one other saiyajin he knew that looked like Bardock and Kakarot. So Turles had been to Earth too? He was disappointed to have missed that show, he was sure the burly consort had given the Earth's finest considerable hell. "Again...I will keep him in line also. Just do it before bringing Kakarot back so I can see his face."
They didn't look nearly as amused as he did and Bulma looked uncertain about letting him have two buddies to potentially make mischief with. He could see the gears turning in her head as she debated on giving him what he was asking for and he tried to calculate some manner of leverage to really bring her around. Coming up with something that had to be substantial, he shot the rest of the group a brief glare before moving swiftly to mutter something in her ear. It was hard not to laugh, if Vegeta was offering that then he really wanted this done. She smirked at him a little, "Fine, fine...You can wish your buddies back. And don't think I won't collect, mister."
"Of course, Ms. Collector." The prince snorted, smirking back at her. Krillin blinked, looking between the two of them as he tried to piece together what happened but gave up shortly. Odds were good that it wasn't something he really wanted to know. Only Piccolo seemed to have caught the terms and he looked vaguely disgusted. Mammals.
"Finally, we can get this show on the road." 18 gestured as the Son family joined them in the backyard. Goten sprinted over to tackle Trunks while Chi-chi and Gohan approached. The young man gave Vegeta a nervous smile and the prince glanced away, trying not to be caught in his charm. Damn hormones.
Vegeta turned glare at Kakarot's mate a little, then he frowned...Then his mouth dropped open slightly before he clamped it shut. His dark eyes flit back and forth, wondering if anyone else was picking up on the scent like he was. If they did, they were quiet about it. Only when his gaze met the android woman did he see that he wasn't alone in the realization. Her cold eyes had widened slightly, then returned to their narrow shape, returning his look as if to say 'Well...what an interesting development we have here.'.
"Okay...Vegeta, do your thing." The blue haired woman stepped aside, much to Gohan's surprise who gave her a questioning look. She waved a hand at him dismissively as Vegeta stepped over to the glowing orbs resting on the grass. He called out his summons for the mighty Shenron to appear and the dragon balls flashed with light, lightning lashed at the sky as it started to grow dark and a pillar of energy blasted into the rapidly darkening clouds. It twisted and spun through the open sky to eventually take for of the immense leviathan of power. The great beast rumbled darkly, staring down at them intently.
"You who have gathered the seven Dragon Balls, speak your wish now." The dragon's voice thundered as his crimson eyes remained locked on the group below them.
"Dragon, I wish for the saiyajins Turles and Raditz to be returned to the world of the living, right here before me!" Vegeta ordered, excitement and even a shred of fear coursing through him. He always found the eternal dragon immensely impressive, far more so here than his Namek counterpart.
"Wait, what?!" Gohan blurted in shock. The prince ignored him completely as the dragon's unblinking eyes glowed briefly, signifying he was granting the two wishes. Before the group, there were two pillars of light that flashed before the revived individuals materialized, both looking incredibly confused. Turles, who surprised those who had not seen him before with how much he looked like their Son Goku, looked at his hands before eyeing the group, intent stare landing on Vegeta in shock. Raditz rubbed the back of his head, blinking as he tried to understand what was happening also. Wasn't he just in Hell?
"Your first two wishes have been granted...Make your final wish so that I may return to my rest."
"Woah, what the hell is-Oh my fucking Gods, the biggest snake ever!!" Much to everyone's surprise, and utter amusement, Raditz had turned before pitching the biggest fit ever at the sight of Shenron. Without even another word towards questioning what was happening, the long haired saiyajin took off on foot, blue in the face and screaming. Piccolo cursed loudly before he made a short, quick dash after him to grab the collar of his armor to keep him from getting too far. Vegeta was too busy, with Turles, laughing their sick tails off while the namekian dealt with a terrified, wriggling saiyajin. The dragon growled impatiently and demanded the last wish.
"We wish that Goku be brought back to life as well!" Piccolo ordered before the two new arrivals registered what was going on to sneak something in. With a growl at the struggling, he yanked and threw Raditz flat on his back before stomping on the thrashing alien's tail. The saiyajin let out a sharp yelp, then seemed to curl up with a whimper as the dragon declared that the wish was granted and bid them farewell. Once Shenron was gone in a bright flash of light and the Dragon Balls shot off in separate directions, the dark clouds rolled away and they waited for Goku to arrive. Piccolo got off the saiyajin's tail once it seemed he had calmed down considerably, "Do I even want to ask...?"
Raditz twitched, eyes squeezed shut, going limp once the pressure was off his tail. He rolled over, climbed to all four as he slowly reopened his eyes. He still looked greatly unsettled, dark eyes darting around to look everywhere. "Where'd the monster snake go...? What the hell is going on?" He sat on his knees, patting at his long mane with a whimper. Piccolo arched a brow at his odd behavior.
"That's what I would like to know..." Turles muttered, glaring darkly at the warriors he recognized. "I see the prince is here, so I can understand his part in this...possibly. But why exactly are we here with them?"
"With who?" Piccolo wanted to plant his face in his hand in irritation while the long haired saiyajin looked at him and really, really looked. Realization dawned but Raditz maintained his cool as he got to his feet, watching the namekian warily. He blinked, the namekian seemed much more mature and bigger than he recalled. His gaze shifted towards the others, taking note of the blue haired woman and... "Weren't you the bald midget I slapped into that house?"
Vegeta's shoulders hunched up with a snort, sensing the returned presence of his rival while Krillin fumed. 18 covered her mouth in amusement. The shorter human snarled, half tempted to dish some payback for that incident but his attention shifted to Goku who had materialized among their group. The revived saiyajin warriors tensed, startled by the sudden appearance out of the blue. Goku smiled and started to greet his friends and family before his cheerful expression melted into one of seriousness, realizing who was also there. "What are...they doing here? Has something happened?!" Goku tensed, shooting Turles then Raditz suspicious glares.
Bulma sighed softly, patting Vegeta's head who lightly swat her hand away. "Vegeta wanted some friends. He'll baby-sit them so you don't have to worry, Goku...Now let's party!" She bounced over and proceeded to drag him along with the others who had started to buzz with excitement to the house. Goku's head whipped around, back and forth, watching the other three saiyajins who lingered outside as they went to the 'Welcome Home!' party.

"I can't say I'm displeased with being alive again..." But...There was a but there however Turles kept it to himself. He and Raditz had laid claim to a corner in the kitchen, away from everyone who they eyed warily. He was tense, sensing his nephew's unsettled anxiety and he couldn't really blame him. They were pretty much minnows in a pond of predators if what Vegeta had explained was true. They had to behave and stay out of the way, or he expected the wolves would lay into them. The maternal drive of a consort had him on edge and leery for his eldest nephew's sake and at the moment he cursed instinct to hell. It was a pain.
They kept their skittish distance without really looking like they were afraid. Raditz eyed the food, incredibly curious to see what humans considered edible but he didn't dare leave his uncle's side. The pair twitched and stepped back when Goten and Trunks came to check them out. They particularly eyed Trunks, who they could smell was a sire yet muddy and it made their tails puff in mixed ire and curiosity. When they didn't stop staring, Turles growled, "Be off, you little mongrels."
His younger nephew's son suddenly went teary eyed and pouted severely before he raced off to tell his mother with the mean man that looked like dad had called him. Raditz looked a little worried, "I don't think you should have done that..."
"Like hell, they were staring and one still is. Didn't I tell you to scram, mongrel?" Turles snarled, clenching an irritated fist as he loomed over Trunks, who looked at him awestruck. The kid gave him kudos for having some guts despite being weaker than Krillin of all people.
"We gotta train you guys up. And I bet you'd look cool as super saiyajin!" Trunks pointed at Raditz, who jumped maybe a foot in the air and looked at him like a killing ki blast was going to come out of his finger. The kid looked confused before frowning. Turles arched his brows, wanting to question him about this super saiyan business but his chance was gone for the moment as he noticed something making a fast beeline for them. Trunks lowered his hand, still frowning at Raditz and his reaction, not noticing the embodiment of rage coming up from behind, "What? Not like I'm gonna blast y-"
"How dare you! I've a good mind to teach you some manners!" Chi-chi screamed, arriving on the scene with a surprisingly timid Goten hiding behind her leg. Trunks squawked and ducked behind Raditz, who tried to maneuver away from him. Bulma and 18 frowned at her and her screaming. They had already taken note that the saiyajins were terribly uncomfortable as it was, they didn't blame their irritability and her screaming was not going to help the matter. Bulma huffed, praying that Goku didn't go about defending his wife by killing one of them.
"Piss off, you whore." Turles hissed, looking bewildered and furious at the tiny creature trying to pick a fight with him. She stunk and he knew what of. The petite woman looked on the verge of exploding before Piccolo stepped between them, stopping her from a possibly fatal mistake, either for her or for the saiyajin.
"That's enough..." His pupil rushed over and ushered his mother from the two saiyajins while the namekian looked back at them over his shoulder. Turles snarled fiercely, baring his teeth in a brazen manner while Raditz seemed to try and make himself smaller behind him, while Trunks poked his head out from under the saiyajin's wild mane. Piccolo wasn't sure what to make of the whole thing. He shook his head, looking away, "You should probably stay away from Goku's wife...And not call her such things."
Turles hissed. "She smells like sex and not with someone that smells like Kakarot."
Piccolo whipped around, glaring at the ballsy man. "What...?"
"You heard me. Just ask Prince Vegeta if you doubt me." The saiyajin crossed his arms, nose in the air, daring the green warrior to challenge his claim. The namekian glanced at Raditz, who seemed less interested in the conversation as he was in the food and was stepping tentatively over to the spread. Piccolo squinted at them before he left them to do whatever they saw fit while he sought Gohan out to have a word with him alone. Trunks moved from behind Goten's uncle, having taken note of the exchange and made his way to his mother. He had something crazy to tell her.

After he explained to the two and gave them strict instructions, he left them to at least attempt to mingle. Vegeta could see they were having a difficult time at best. He started to question his judgment call in reviving Turles, who was aggressive and distrustful. Of course, the saiyajin had good reason to be. Having a half dozen cubs that were taken from you as well as losing a mate can do that to a consort, makes them a little antsy if not downright malicious. Saiyajins did not show fear outright, but he could tell Turles was scared at the moment, no matter how irritable and fierce he might act. It was all a front really.
Raditz, he was sure, would adapt once his initial scare had passed on. He knew Shenron was fearsome, but he was hardly that intimidating. It wasn't till Turles explained why Raditz had gone nuts did he understand. He could only imagine a seven year old Raditz, dealing with Bardock in training...and then coming face to face with a ferocious winged serpent. Apparently, at some point it must have tried to use the saiyajin's hair as a nest and wouldn't get the hell out, biting in retaliation when he tried to remove it. All the while, Bardock laughed like the perverse bastard he was while his poor son ran in circles, screaming bloody murder. Hell, he hated those things himself so he didn't blame him. They were the only thing about Vegetasei he did not miss. Fighting the urge to toss fake snakes at the man would be an epic display of self control though.
"...Vegeta, why did you wish my brother back?"
The prince licked his lips, heart pounding. He had tried diligently to avoid Kakarot, catching out the corner of his eye how the man would glimpse at him and try to shuffle over. Not only had he wanted to not deal with him, the images in his mind or the feeling of his instinct's longing...But he didn't want to drop the news of his wife's possible infidelity on the man out of some unconscious primal need to lure a mate in. So far, Vegeta had managed to stay a few good steps ahead of him but now it seemed he was caught in reflection. He sighed before giving his honest answer, trying to block out the other's scent which was making his stomach flutter. Damn hormones! "I was lonely...I needed other saiyajins around."
Goku stared at him. In some way...That hurt. Vegeta had known he was coming back, so it wasn't like he would have stayed lonely. He did his best not to show it, but he knew how intuitive Vegeta was and he probably picked up on it anyway. Goku crossed his arms, jaw set tightly as he controlled the emotions on his face. "Well, they're staying here...I don't want them around my family."
"Good, then stay away from mine." The shorter saiyajin snarled, his temper flaring for a second. Once again, Kakarot was shunning his heritage and it infuriated him...so much so that if he didn't have all the control he had at the moment, he might once again breakdown into weak tears. It was just unbearable! He couldn't stand it! He wanted to scream and just drill it into the idiot with his fists but what good would it do? His expression hardened as he stared at him. "Point made, Kakarot. See? I need real saiyajins for company! And technically, they are your family...Your uncle and your brother to be precise, but I suppose the earthling is too good for his alien relatives. You sicken me and I want nothing to do with you! So go back to your whore wife!"
Skittish glances started coming their way, it wasn't hard to tell that Vegeta was getting irate and it was a shock when he snorted, then spat at Goku. The taller saiyajin jumped in surprise, caught off guard by the cruel words, struck on the front of his gi. He looked at Vegeta in hurt shock as the other warrior growled at him, threateningly baring his teeth before he stepped away. He was going to round up his new cohorts and put them to work immediately. They had a lot of work before the tournament and he needed to bust both of their asses to be somewhat viable by then. He ignored the angry mutterings of others that went to console Goku and he ignored Bulma and her berating him.
Turles and Raditz, who had observed the exchange with amazement, shuffled along with him as he gestured them over and they made their exit for the gravity room. He growled to himself. "I'll teach that fool what he's missing out on...And I could care less if he dies again!" He'd never said anything so untrue before but it wasn't like anyone else needed to know otherwise.
The other two looked at each other as they walked, figuring there was something he had not explained to them just yet...

I think the chapters are getting progressively longer and yes, I'm taking my sweet time getting to the tourney. In any case, this is coming along faster than I thought it would. lawl
