"Well that was a fun experince I guess." Gohan said putting Aerith down as they reached her house.

"Those guys are persistant, I don't think that will be the last we hear of them." Aerith replied.

"I'm home mom!" Aerith called as she opened the door.

"Aerith! What took you so lo..."

"Sorry, she kind of had her hands full with me." Gohan said as he stepped forward and bowed his head.

"So who is this young gentleman?" Aerith's mother asked.

"Oh, this is my bodyguard, Gohan!" Aerith replied.

"Nice to meet you.."

"Nice to meet you too Gohan, my name is Elmyra." Aerith's mother said as she looked him up and down. "So those guys were after you again..."

"Yeah those guys are like super stalkers. But I have a super bodyguard so that's okay!" Aerith exclaimed as she gave Gohan a hug.

"Well it's nice to see that your safe and sound, don't stay up to late now dear." Elmyra said as she made her way towards the stairs.

"So... you got me home, what are your plans now?" Aerith asked.

"Well my number one priority is to get back to Sector 7 I want to go to Tifa's bar." Gohan replied.

"Oh, are you going to see a girl?"

"Yes." Gohan responded.

"Is she your girlfriend?"

"Why, would that upset you?"

"I.. I don't know actually." Aerith admitted. "I know we just met and all but I feel safe around you."

"That's perfectly fine, but wait until you get to know someone better before you put your heart on the line." Gohan replied.

"Ok.." Aerith said sounding a little less lively than before.

"So do you know the way to Sector 7 from here? It's okay if you can't come with me, as long as I have a general direction and this old boy." Gohan said as he tapped his nose. "I'll find Tifa."

"Why is your nose special or something?" Aerith said sounding interested.

Eyes flashing for the briefest of moments Gohan explained that due to some experiments at Shinra, his sense of smell was greater than a humans.

"I see, well it will be easier for me to take you because I don't do maps." Aerith replied.

"Does this mean I'm still your bodyguard?" Gohan asked.

"Well you did what I asked of you, so not really unless you want to be."

"I see... well I guess I could put up with you for a little while longer." Gohan jokingly sighed.

"Oh you are just terrible!" Aerith giggled. "Mum! I'm just taking Gohan to Sector 7."

Coming down the stairs, Elmyra began to complain, but when she saw the look on Aerith's face she sighed.

"You really are headstrong. Do what you have to but please be safe."

"I will mum and just to make you feel more at ease me and Gohan will be staying the night and leaving in the morning, will that be ok?"

"That sounds like a great idea." Elmyra said. "May I talk with your bodyguard in private for a while? I would like to personally thank him for looking after you."

"Ok, Gohan I'll go make the bed while you guys talk." Aerith replied, as she made her way up the stairs.

"What's up? I noticed a difference in your scent when Aerith told you I was her bodyguard. I wasn't going to call you out on it until you did it again just now." Gohan said quietly.

"That tail... your one of Shinra's SOLDIER experiments aren't you?" Elmyra questioned.

"Since your being honest about your stance towards Shinra I can be honest too." Gohn replied. "I am not from this world, the people I plan to return to know this but to repay my debt to the ones who raised me I entered Shinra alongside the son of the mother who found and raised me."

Nodding her head, Elmyra looked at Gohan with pity.

"I got to meet the Legendary Sephiroth and went on missions with my hero Zack... but then it all went wrong. Sephiroth went insane and destroyed the hometown that I was raised in and shortly after that I got captured and experimented on for four years alongside Zack by a scientist by the name of Hojo."

"You poor thing!" Elmyra exclaimed as she came over and gave Gohan a hug. "But how did you escape from that man?"
"Zack during one testing broke us out but Shinra heard of our escape and sent their troops after us. I managed to get away due to Zack hiding me and being seriously affected by the experiments but Zack... he got gunned down."

"Zack... Zack Fair? Aerith's first boyfriend?!" Elmyra said sounding shocked.

"Zack was Aerith's boyfriend?!" Gohan exclaimed. "No wonder why she looked at me like I reminded her of someone! I had Cloud cut my hair to mirror his and I'm carrying his sword."

"He died to protect you.. your honouring his spirit."

"So now you know why I look like this."

"Do you remember anything before you landed on this planet?" Elmyra asked.

"My father's brother tried to use me as leverage against my father to make him destroy the people on the planet." Gohan said.

"Why?"

"Well as it turns out that although my mother was of human descent my father wasn't originally from that planet either, he was in fact from an alien race known as Saiya-jin from the then destroyed planet called Planet Vegeta, which had apparently been destroyed by a meteor." Gohan said.

"So why did your fathers brother want to kill all the inhabitants of the planet that your father lived on?"

"Well this is where it gets complicated." Gohan said. "This one will require you to sit down..."
Several hours later.
"You have gone through so much and yet you haven't gone completely cold. How is that?" Elmyra asked.
"Tifa, Cloud the planet and Avalanche."
"Avalanche? That group that opposes Shinra?!"

"That's the one."

"But how?"
"After I recived this sword from Zack I stumbled upon Cloud and Tifa who then had me somewhat restored and to give me some motivation to keep fighting helped me get into Avalanche a group that they were already in."

"That reminds me, you speak of your own capture but not of your brother Cloud's, how did he escape?"

"You see the fateful day that Sephiroth went insane was due to him finding that he had been bred with the cells of an Ancient known as Jenova. A being whose D.N.A made some into monsters while others who's will's were strong enough became weapons for Shinra, the weapons you know as SOLDIER."

"And as such Sephiroth understandably became upset, however the breaking point is when he read about the experiments in Shinra Mansion one of Hojo's many labs stationed in Nibelheim where Coud, and Tifa grew up and where I was found and raised."
"During the resulting aftermath I managed to stop Sephiroth from killing Cloud and Tifa who managed to escape due to Tifa's martial arts master spiriting them away but he coudn't save me and Zack due to our wounds from Sephiroth, which resulted in our capture by Hojo."

"So what happened to Sephiroth?"

"I surprised him when he went to the place where the remains of Jenova's body was being held which was the Nibelheim Reactor and managed to knock him into the Mako beneath it."

"Not a simple feat I take it?" Elmyra questioned.

"Not a feat that I would wish anyone to have to replicate, let's just put it that way." Gohan replied. "So now you know the story of Son Gohan. The things I went through were not for the faint of heart but through memories that I had of the family before I reached this planet and the bonds that I had made with the people on this one, kept me sane enough to survive the torturous ordeal that hojo put me through, though I think even that would have failed me if Hojo had managed to keep hold of me for longer than four years, but that's just me speculating." Gohan finished.

"Well... you've given me alot to think about Mr Son.. I don't know what I or my daughter Aerith can.."

"I also noticed that you are not her birth mother, you may have raised her but she was not born from you." Gohan said.

"Let me guess... the whole nose thing?"

"No... and yes." Gohan said. "You see the real reason I decided to help your daughter was because she's like me.. and I don't just mean she's special like me.

"So you plan to use her?!"

"No... I wanted to know if she was still wanted by Hojo and when Shinra's Turks came, I knew for sure that I had to look after this woman regardless of my own personal mission."

"Why?"

"Because I belive she is the only one who can hear the planet better than I can." Gohan replied making Elmyra's eyes widen.

Getting Elmyra's assistance, Gohan sowed up his Soldier uniform and wiped down Zack's Buster sword.

"So once Aerith leads you to Sector Seven, what will you do then?" Elmyra asked as she tidied up around the kitchen.

"Get back to work... the last mission I had was... more eventful than anticipated." Gohan replied as he accepted the tea that Elmyra passed to him.

"You won't quit until you've had your revenge will you?" Elmyra sighed.

"No.. I'm after him because he took something away from me, it saved my life when I fought Sephiroth and it kept me safe when I entered this planet." Gohan said.

"What was it?"

"An orange ball with four stars on it."
Shinra Headquarters Profesor Hojo's lab

"So the boy survived those four years... I'm not entirely surprised at this fact." Profesor Hojo said to himself after the long meeting he had just left.

"However... what does surprise me is that he is still sane. I would have thought I had done more damage than that but... I guess when you have the blood of of two near extinct races within you that does help quite a bit!" Hojo laughed as he walked into his lab and looked at yet another of his many experiments.

"I hope you'll stay awake longer this time... I can't complete my work if my experiments pass out on me all the time." Hojo sighed as he prodded the subject awake.

"Your cells may not be as stable as his, but they don't have to be... just survive a bit longer than the others and then I'll free you from your misery!" Hojo laughed as the black eyed test subject started screaming.
