Chapter 4
Title: To say a word...

Notes: I know that this FIC may not be to you guys liking but it was swimming at the top of my head for a
while and I think I would go crazy if I don't write it down. I really hope you guys like it though. And

***Flashback***
"Say it Duo" Heero said. "Tell me that you love me! I want to here the words Duo. I told you long ago that I love you and now I want to here the words from you! Is this cross you always wear more important to you than I am?" Heero said as he held Duo's cross in his hands out of Duo's reach.
'Please give that back to me!' Duo pleaded without word as tears started to stream down his face.
"No Duo! I won't give this back until you say the words," Heero said reading Duo's lips. "Stop pretending that you can't say a word because I know for a fact that your mouth is always talking lif life away"
'You don't understand Heero. Give my cross back and I will explain' Duo silently pleaded again.
"No, I will give you one more chance to say it and then I will leave if you don't" Heero said.
***End Flashback***
'And I left him....' Heero thought to himself.
"Where did you get his cross!" Heero demanded after finally having it hit him.
"Please sit down and calm yourself it is a long story and plus Duo is not going anywhere" Pagan said.
"What do you mean by that? Where is MY Duo" Heero said yet again.
"I will tell you just take a seat!" Pagan said, "Were wasting enough time as it is"
This time Heero cooperated and sad down on the stairs.
"Now speak" Heero said.
"Alright then. The day that you had left him, Rita, your landlord called me and told me about it. It was a shamed that she did. If she hadn't then she would not be so sadden and guilty.
It was then that Relena what was tracking you down found out where you lived. She quickly packed her bags and came down as soon as possible to try to find you, but upon arrival she realized that you were gone and Duo was the only one remaining. I had assisted her in the journey. She found out from the neighbors that you both had gotten into an argument and that you had left Duo. When Ms. Relena saw Duo on the floor sobbing and perhaps broken hearted, she took the liberty of taking him in under her wing. Master Duo did not respond to her at all, but just stared blankly at the open dooat yat you had left, or was it he that had left the door open hoping that you will come back. Anyway, you never comecome back so Ms. Relena told me to take Master Duo back with us. Before I had left the house I met with Rita. She told me about the situation and gave me Master Duo's cross. She told me to take care of Master Duo, but when Ms. Relena and I arrived back to the house she told her bodyguards to take duo to his chambers. And that was the lastave ave seen of Master Duo." Pagan said with a sad tone to his voice.
"So you are telling me that Relena had Duo the whole time I was at her house and I did not know about it?" Heero asked.
"Yes that is exactly it. It was until I found out 5 days ago where she kept him in the house that I have tried my best to find you and ask you to take Duo away from the suffering he has endured for 4 months now" Pagan said.
Heero shot up to his feet and was about to run out of the apartment to get back what was his, untigan gan stopped Heero.
"You don't even know where he is!" Pagan said.
"Then I will have to strangle it out of Relena then" Heero said.
"But you can't she is the most important person in the time of war" Pagan said.
"Well Pagan the war is over and the only war that is going to start is if she does not give me back Duo" Heero said. "Are you coming or not"
"Of course I am coming. I am the only person that knows where Master Duo is," Pagan said as he got up to follow Heero out the apartment. "Now once we get there I want you to stay calm so that we could go find and get Duo out of there in a reasonable manner"
"Fine but if she gets in my way then don't blame me for pulling out my gun" Heero said though he knew he did not have his gun with him at all, but Pagan and Relena did not know that do that now.
Once both men hoped into the car, Heero started the engine and without waiting for the car to warm up he shifted the gear and stepped on it. The drive did not take as long for Heero was practically doing 90 mph on a 30-mph freeway.
When they reached Relena's mansions or shall we say just one of her vacationing houses that Heero had stayed in with her for the past 4 months, Heero got out of the car and waited impatiently for the old butler to yet out of the car.
"Hurry up!" Heero demanded.
"I try Master Heero, but when you get as old as me-"
"I don't care how old you are just hurry up with it" Heerod cud cutting off the old mans words.
"Just follow me" Pagan said as he lead Heero up the porch and around to the back entrance.
"Why are we going this way?" Heero asked.
"Because there is a secret passage way back here," Pagan said.
Heero looked surprised. He had checked this house out once over and there was no was he could have missed seeing a passage way especially this one that seems so way obvious.
"This way" Pagan said as he came out of the bushes and pushed Heero down the path of the secret passage way while following behind Heero. Both men went down the stairs and around many twist and turns until they came to a flight of stairs. They climbed it and saw that there was a door way at the top. Heero hurried up the stairs and tried to open the door just to find it locked. He grew impatient and decided to kick the door down. Once the door was not an obstacle to Heero any more he took the time to examine the small room that was heavily padded as if who ever was kept in here could not be able to hurt themselves. Heero examined the small white padded room to realize that this perfectly white room was not as white as it used to be. Instead there were several dark brown spots across the walls. That was when he saw Duo. His beloved Duo was laying in the padded floor, back facing Heero, his long beautiful hair was fanned out carelessly, not cared for, Heero rushed over to Duo's side as fast as he could. 'What have I done to you Duo!' Heero thought as he slowly turned Duo's small frail body around so that he was facing Heero now. Heero now stared in shock at what was remained of Duo. The small boy has scratches all over his face, no doubt self-inflicted. Duo's once beautiful face was now scarred, with dried blood still caked his face, his lips dried and peeling, his throat red and raw from the abuse, Heero had no idea that Duo could do this to himself. Heero took Duo into an embrace.
"What happened to him Pagan!" Heero demanded, tears streaming down his face.
"Master Heero, I am only here to lead you, I have no idea what his condition was, I rea-"
"Shh-" Heero told Pagan to stop talking. He heard a voice in the room, but not quite in the room. He listened carefully and used his training to locate the voice from a small speaker on the wall, the voice, it was very familiar, it sounded like...Releana? Heero listened closely to what was said, and each word angered him to no end.
"Duo...Guess what happened today? Oh yes, I forgot that you could not say a word! Oh, silly me! It is a good thing you can't, unless I could be hearing your screams every single night so that me and my darling Heero would not be able to sleep at all! Every time I visit you, you are always covering your ears like you don't want to hear the news I have to tell you, much to say, trying to scream when you can, I find it quite amusing really. Well...back to my news, yes, Heero has proposed to me! Could you not believe it! I have finally claimed back what you took from me-"
Heero didn't want to hear anymore. He could just imagine what Duo went through, sitting there trying to drown out that annoying voice when knowing that he couldn't.
"We're leaving right now!" Heero commanded "I will take care of Releana myself"
"Right sir" Pagan said "But please don't hurt her to bad, I promised her parents to raise her up to be a leader, I just didn't know she had this in mind"
"I assure you, she will get what she deserves," Heero said heatedly, picking up his broken lover and rushed out of the sickly enclosed room, Heero will learn to hate the color white for the rest of his life.
