**********************************************************

Trunks was sitting behind his desk in the study room that both he and Gohan shared in front of his laptop. The only sound that filled the room was the light clicking of the keyboard as he typed out several documents and worked on new formulas for Capsule Corp to produce.

He enjoyed that he could now work at home due to his size. It would be a real pain in the ass having to run through his office to the bathroom every ten minutes, not to mention the soreness in his feet and back, but sometimes it would be just a little much.

Son-san was over almost everyday now, and sometimes it wasn’t even to check on him, but rather to nag at him. He didn’t forget the tongue lashing she gave him when he yelled at his Koi. He was so embarrassed to have cried in front of her like that. The crying was basically due to the combination of his pregnancy and her screeching, but he truly was sorry.

He didn’t mean to get so mad at Gohan over something so stupid. He even knew that his Koi was right when he said he shouldn’t do it, but at the time he didn’t really care. He was in a really pissed off mood that day and the morning sickness didn’t help him out either. So when he decided to try and do something to take his mind off of the queasiness and Gohan told him he shouldn’t do it...well...let’s just say he snapped.

He deserved getting yelled at for the things he said. That’s why he never told Gohan about it. But sometimes he thought that she was just doing and saying things to purposely piss him off. Sometimes she really made him feel inadequate as a mate with the things she said. Like how she would always bring up Videl and the child that she and Gohan would of had, and the time she said he didn’t deserve her son for a mate, even though he deserved hearing that one at the time.

One time he ded ded to do the dishes for her to help keep the house clean when he took a brake from his work, when he suddenly dropped a mug on the floor and it shattered into many sharp and tiny pieces. She just screeched her head off at him for being so clumsy, and started to complain about how she had even *more* cleaning to do now because of it. Christ, you’d think he’d mercilessly ripped the head off a kitten with the way she went on about it. He even started to cry again from it all. Goddamn pregnancy. Not crying as in crying like a child would at a scraped knee. More like sniffling and tears that just didn’t want to stop. At least he could say that much in his defence of being so damn weak all the time.

Eventually it was as if she didn’t even want to see him when she was around. She always insisted that he stay in his office and worked, even when he was finished. The only time he could come out without getting the death glare was for bathroom breaks. And even *that* seemed to irk her with all the times he needed to go. It wasn’t his fault the babies took up all the space inside him.

Trunks saved all his work on a disk and looked up at the clock. ‘Another hour and a half before Gohan comes home.’ He thought, a little disappointed. That meant another hour and a half until he could come out and not have to worry about Chi-Chi’s rants. He sighed and leaned back in his chair. When he looked out the window he could see it was snowing lightly. Another two weeks and it would be Christmas.

Looking up he could see his sword hanging on the wall as a decoration. He wished he could take it down and do a few practice swings with it, but Chi-Chi sometimes made these little surprise inspections to make sure he was working and then make him drink some god awful tea that would supposedly help with his nausea and had a lot of vitamins in it. Never worked though. He just didn’t want to be rude and point that out to her that her *secret recipe* was worthless. The last time she came in and caught him with his sword in hand she threw a fit. He shuddered at the memory.

He supposed that this was normal though. Trunks remembers perfectly well how Goten would complain to him nonstop, about how his mother would not stop bitching at him until he got in at least three hours of studying every night, even in the summer, when they were both out of school. He swore that if she could she’d probably lock him in there, but he still never said anything.

This must be her normal behaviour. That’s why he never said anything about some of the criticises she made. What was the point of starting another fight between a son and his mother over something so trivial? At first she bugged him about not doing enough around the house when Gohan was away, and accused him of leaving all for him to do while he was lazing about at home. Now that is and at the same time isn’t true. So he once again, didn’t complain to anybody about her.

You see he still worked while he was at home, and this left very little time on most occasions to do any housework. Trunks hated housework and would normally try to avoid it like the plague. One of the downside’s to having little robots pick up after you your whole life, but when he did get a chance and wasn’t feeling too sore he *would* tidy up a bit. He hated housework but he wasn’t a slob.

After one of Chi-Chi’s little guilt trips, though, he did start to do a little more, even when he felt so sore and sick that he felt like he would just fall apart, he still got up and helped to clean the whole house. Soon after he started doing this, however, she complained that he was being too clumsy and was doing it all wrong.

THEN she got on his back about how he never cooked for his Koi. She always said that since he was home he might as well do things like this for Gohan since he worked so hard for him. He tried to tell her that he couldn’t cook to save his life, aside from breakfast foods that were easy to make, and that’s why they had everything frozen or ordered out, but she didn’t listen as she shoved a cookbook in his face.

So he cooked. It was the best thing he ever made in his whole life, but it still sucked. He knew because he had some of it too. Trunks didn’t know what he did wrong. He followed the stupid recipe exactly! Granted he put in a little too much pepper, left it to sizzle a little longer and accidentally pouring in all that soi sauce didn’t help, but that couldn’t have made *that* much of a difference. It was amazing how Gohan could still choke it all down for him and then tell him how good it was.

The next day when Chi-Chi came over and asked how things went, he told her the truth. That what he made was so lousy that he would be punishing Gohan if he continued to cook for him and they ended up throwing out the leftovers and ordering a pizza. She flipped right out on him for being so useless at that point, and even muttered under her breath to herself about why her son would want someone so ungrateful and lazy, as if his saiyan hearing wouldn’t pick it up.

After that she told him if he was going to act like such a baby over such menial chores, then he might as well stay in his office and work while she did it all. And so here he was.

Trunks looked back at the clock. ‘One more hour.’ He thought while switching on a solitaire game. ‘This is so boring!’ He thought while miserably staring into the screen. Gohan wasn’t on his computer right now so they couldn’t send each other any instant messages to try and make the time fly faster. This sucked.

Trunks’ ears suddenly twitched when he heard soft footsteps coming up the stairs. ‘SHIT!!’ He thought while quickly clicking off the game and throwing his disk back in the computer. He just got the program loaded when Chi-Chi walked in the room with a warm smile on her face and a tea tray in her hands. “Hello, Trunks. Working hard?” She asked sweetly.

“Um, yes Son-san.” He replied, almost nervously. If she caught him playing games then there would have been hell to pay. “Oh that’s good!” She replied, walking around the desk to where he sat to see if he was telling the truth, before placing the tray with the lousy green tea on his desk.

He looked at it and then back at her, knowing fully well that he had to drink the stuff. Trunks suppressed his sigh and grabbed the mug, downing it in one quick gulp. It was always better to just get it over and done with quickly. He smiled when he finished the sour fluid and politely handed her the cup. “Thank you, Son-san. That was very good.” He lied, while trying to hold back his disgusted shudder. He’d need a TALL glass of water when he had the chance to get rid of the foul taste, still in his mouth.

Chi-Chi smiled warmly at him before she took back the cup. “Your welcome, Trunks. And remember you always have the recipe here for when I’m not around.” She reminded him. It was hard not to laugh at that point. Like he’d ever go out of his way to *make* the stuff! What a joke! “Yes, Son-san I’ll remember.” He replied. She nodded her head at that and smiled. “Well I’ll go now so you can get back to work.” She said, picking up the tray and quietly leaving with it.

At the light click of the door, Trunks let out a sigh of relief. He was afraid for a second that she would see how much he hated the stuff and then give him shit for it. He clicked off the files and went back to his solitaire game, playing for about ten minutes until he looked at the clock and could see he had another half an hour until his Koi came home and saved him from this awful boredom.

Suddenly his stomach churned and he found himself getting queasy. ‘KUSO!’ He thought as he ran out of the office at top speed, and down the hall to the bathroom to be sick. His bare feet making slapping sounds as he ran right into the bathroom and slammed the door shut behind him.

Chi-Chi smirked at the sight from where she was standing. Just out of the way so as not to be seen. The tea she was giving him was actually supposed to *make* him sick, not clear it up. Not a really big purpose on that one. She just thought that since the whore would get so sick than maybe he would avoid her son out of embarrassment. Plus she just liked seeing the slut like this anyway. Served him right! If he wanted to act like a little girl and get pregnant then he should deal with the things that came with it. After deciding that she heard enough she walked back downstairs to prepare something for Gohan since the tramp refused to do anything around here.

She heard a few more coughing sounds and rolled her eyes in disgust at the source. “Stupid slut.” She muttered bitterly to herself as she continued on down the steps.

A while later, Trunks walked out of the bathroom feeling a little better that he got all that out of his system. He brushed his teeth and drank LOTS of water to get the awful taste out of his mouth. He fucking hated getting sick. Now he was hungry, and had a big craving for pickles.checchecked his watch. ‘Gohan should be home any minute now.’ He thought to himself, so he walked downstairs and headed for the fridge. He didn’t see the slightly annoyed look on Chi-Chi’s face as he started to shove things aside, looking for his pickles.

“Don’t eat now, Trunks, I’m making supper.” She said harshly, but Trunks didn’t catch the warning tone in her voice. “Sorry Son-san, I’ve just got a craving and I *need* to get rid of it.”

She was about to turn around and tell him to get out of the fridge or else, until she heard the door open. “I’m Home!” Gohan called out as he brushed some snow off of his shoulders. Chi-Chi brought her anger under control for the moment and greeted her son. “Hello sweetie. I’m making super for the two of you today so you don’t have to worry about it.” She said as he walked into the kitchen. “Great, Mom!” He said happily as he took off his jacket and hung it up. He thought it was the best how she was always around to help out Trunks and to keep him company while he was away.

“Hey Gohan.” Trunks said, not looking up from the fridge. “How was work?” He asked while still digging around. “Long and boring.” He replied, kissing the back of his Koi’s neck.

“What are you looking for?” He asked curiously as he walked back to the doorway to get his briefcase. “Pickles. I’ve got a huge craving for them and if I don’t get them soon I swear I’ll kill something!” He sgettgetting frustrated.

“I don’t think we have any, aisuru.” Gohan told him.

Trunks immediately stopped rummaging through the fridge and slowly brought his face out to look at his Koi with an innocent smile. Gohan knew what that look meant as his own face fell. “Aww, c’mon Trunks! I just got home!”

Trunks just walked up his Koi and wrapped his arms around his neck. “Pleeeeeaaaase, Gohan? I won’t bug you anymore if you get them for me.” He said giving him the best puppy dog eyes he could.

Chi-Chi just stood there, shaking with fury over the nerve this little baka had. Here she was making him and Gohan their supper, and he tries to send him off on an errand for PICKLES!?!

“That won’t work on me, Koi.” He said, knowing perfectly well that it was a lie. Trunks pouted a little and forced a few small tears in his eyes just for good measure. Chi-Chi was sickened by the sight.

Gohan sighed, he couldn’t resist that look any longer. “Alright. I’ll go out flying and get you a few jars. But you can’t do that look on me for at LEAST a month!”

Trunks grinned at his little victory and gave him a quick kiss on the lips. “Thanks, Gohan. And I promise I won’t give you *the look* for at least a month.” he said happily. Gohan then went to get his coat again. “I’ll be back in about fifteen minutes. Ok, Tru-chan?”

He nodded his head. “Alright.” Trunks said as he walked up to him for a kiss goodbye. Then he was outside in the cold again.

Trunks turned around, a happy smile on his face, just to meet the scowling and angry features Chi-Chi had. Trunks’ breath got caught in his throat as he took in the scary sight before him. What had he done now? He didn’t have to wait too long for the answer as Chi-Chi started to just scream at him for the offending act.

“What the hell is your problem!?! He just got home from a long day at work and you send him out to get you food when I just said that dinner will be ready soon!! Now it’ll be cold when he gets back!”

“S-sorry, Son-san. I-I wasn’t thinking about that.” Trunks apologized shakily. It was at times like this when he knew how the woman managed to keep a home full of saiyans under control.

“No you weren’t thinking about that were you!?!?” She screamed. “All you could think about was yourself!! He didn’t even WANT to go, but you made him go anyway!! How selfish are you?!?!”

“Son-san, please, I didn’t mean –”

“BE QUIET!! You don’t know how lucky you are to have him, yet you always take advantage of his generosity!! HE’S the dominant mate, NOT you!! He could have easily said no, and you would have no choice but to listen to him. But you have to go ahead and do what you do best to get what you want!! CRY!! For the love of God!!”

Trunks was getting a little angry at this point. She was right, if Gohan really didn’t want to go then he wouldn’t have, but he was a good person who didn’t use that against him. That didn’t make him selfish for just wanting a jar of pickles! He finally found some courage and started to yell back.

“Holy shit, Son-san! It’s not that big of a deal y’know! He’ll be back in time to eat your food, and even if it is cold by then we could always reheat it!” He yelled. Trunks was tired of taking her bullshit.

“Don’t speak in *that* tone with me!!!” She screamed. “I’m your mother-in-law! Show a little respect!!”

“Maybe I would show you some respect, if you would just stop acting like such a BITCH all the time!”

WHACK!

Trunks couldn’t even see the hand coming at his face in time to dodge or block it, and he staggered back a few steps before tripping and falling on the floor. If he had his normal strength then he probably wouldn’t have even felt it, but when you’re weaker then the average human, a hit like that REALLY hurts! He put his hand over his stomach to make sure his babies were alright before bringing it up to feel the hot mark on his face. Trunks looked up to see Chi-Chi standing over him with her Ki flaring an angry red. He tried to back away from her, but ended up cornering himself in front of the cupboards.

Chi-Chi let her Ki drop back down to normal and her face went emotionless as she knelt down in front of him and removed his hand from his burning cheek, holding his wrist in place. “Now you listen to me, brat.” She said, oddly calm. This had Trunks *more* than a little scared. “You don’t deserve my son, you never did. You made him miserable when you were gone and now you’re a bother to him when you’re around. Don’t think for a second that I forgot how he nearly killed himself because of you.”

Trunks’ heart was slamming in his throat as tears of pure, self hated agony blurred his vision at the awful reminder of Gohans attempt at suicide. All because of him. “You were always lazy, selfish, childish and worthless. I don’t know why my son even stays with someone who is so easily hated.” She looked down at his stomach. “Hn. You’ll probably be a horrible father too.” She sneered with venom dripping in her voice. The tears were just pouring out his eyes now. The accusations were hitting him harder than a Ki blast from his father while training, but only because what she was saying was true.

‘I make him miserable...He almost died because of me! He nearly killed himself because of me!’ Trunks squeezed his eyes shut and tried to stifle a sob while her words cut at him like knives. It was all true. It had to be. Gohan always told him to not blame himself, to just forget that it ever happened, and he almost did until just now.

She stroked the red mark on his face almost as if she cared that it hurt so much and was trying to make the pain disappear. “He was so much better off with all of those other girls than with you.” He just looked up at her in confusion. What other girls? Gohan wouldn’t cheat on him. She saw the look on his face and laughed. “You didn’t really think that after you disappeared he stayed single in that whole four years, did you? He was so much better off without you! And he had quit a few female friends after you left!” She hissed, while tightening her hold on his wrist. He gave out a small whimper of pain when she did that.

He shut his eyes again, trying to block out her image and voice. ‘Just because he dated when you were thought to be dead means nothing. Gohan still loves you. You! Don’t forget how he ran to you in the diner when he saw you again!’ His subconscious screamed at him. But it was still hard picturing his aisuru with someone else. ‘I have nothing to feel angry about. It was my fault anyway. If those girls made him happy while I nearly killed him then he deserved to be with them.’ He thought miserably at the thought of what he put his Koi through.

“I’ll give you another chance, even though you don’t deserve it, if you want.”

He opened his eyes and looked at her in sheer disbelief through the tears that were still there and flowing freely. “W-what do you mean?” He choked out. Chi-Chi smiled at him almost lovingly. “I read the reports on what you did when you were a police officer, and decided that you could at *least* have another chance.”

He looked at her shocked. “H-how could you of read those?” He asked in disbelief. Chi-Chi sighed in annoyance. “No one around here thinks I’m intelligent, when look at the two geniuses I’ve raised and taught. How do you *think* I got them?” She asked, her tone becoming more harsh.

“Y-you hacked into my files.” He said, surprised that Son-san could do that. He didn’t know that she was computer smart.

“So here’s the deal.” She started. “I won’t tell Gohan about how you yelled at me, called me a bitch, or about how much of a pain in the ass you’ve been, and all I want from you is your undying respect. And NO telling my son what to do anymore! If you do, I’ll tell him and then he won’t *ever* want to speak to you ever again. Have I made myself clear?” She asked, squeezing his wrist hard again and cutting off his circulation.

More tears came from his eyes again as he shut them, trying to hold back the pain and tears at the act. Trunks nodded his head and she let him go. “Good.” She said dryly as she stood up. “Now run upstairs and wash your face with cold water. It’ll help with the tear stains and the red mark.”

He hesitated at first, trying to regain some of his composure and find out if what just happened really *did* happen. Son-san would ruin his marriage? Chi-Chi didn’t like this, however and she stamped her foot down to show it. “I said MOVE, BRAT!” She screamed. He wasted no time in getting up and running up the stairs as fast as he could to just get away from her.

When she heard the bathroom door slam, Chi-Chi smirked almost evilly. “Got you now, you cheap slut.” She whispered happily to herself as she went back to trying to keep the food warm for when Gohan got back.

Trunks had the cold water tap running full force, splashing his face to try and desperately make the red hot mark that was there, go away. ‘I can’t let Gohan see this! He’ll know what I did and said to his mother!’ He thought while frantically splashing his face again. How could he? He screamed his head off at his own mother-in-law, called her a bitch and acted rudely towards her when he sent Gohan off.

He started to sob again and his body began to shake as he fell to his knees and rested his head on the cold, ceramic sink. The water was still running, but he didn’t care as he let his tears flow. He didn’t know if his Koi would actually leave him over the horrible things he did, but it could put his marriage at risk. And if Gohan did stay with him then he would be separated from his family again. Only this time it would be ten times worse. He didn’t want to put his Koi through all that pain again, just over him.

The things that Chi-Chi said really made him think. Why *did* Gohan love him? What was to love about him? He remembers what she said about him perfectly. ‘Selfish. Lazy. Worthless.... Worthless. And easily hated.’ Yes. He was all of these things. How could he be anything less with all the suffering and pain he’d caused.

‘I guess that’s why I never had any friends aside from Goten.’ He thought sadly. He made some friends as a cop, but they were all the way across the world now, and couldn’t help him if he asked for their advice.

Trunks slowly picked himself up from off the floor, turned off the tap and looked at his reflection in the mirror. The red mark had diminished a bit, but his other cheek was a little red too, from the crying. Maybe he could pass it off as a mood swing.

He left the bathroom and dragged his feet into his room and plopped himself on the bed on his side. He grabbed a pillow and put his face in it to try and stifle his sobs. He couldn’t go back down there to face Son-san yet, not after what he did and the condition he was currently in. Chi-Chi’s words continued to cut at his mind as he sobbed harder into the pillow. ‘You don’t deserve him! Why does he even want someone as easily hated as you?!? Worthless! He nearly killed himself because of you!! Nothing but a bother!.......He’d be better off without you!’

Trunks just sobbed harder at the sound of her voice in his head. ‘It’s all true, too!’ He though through his choking sobs. ‘I hate myself for what I did! No wonder she hates me so much, I nearly killed her son!’ He curled himself in a fetal position and tried to will himself to sleep through his tears and choked sobs, knowing that he wouldn’t be getting a good nights sleep even if he did.

****************************************************************

Gohan finally walked back into the warmth of his house and out of the cold with a shiver running down his spine and bag full of jarred pickles in his hand. “I’m back!” He called as he took off his coat and hung it up before walking back into the kitchen.

He saw his mother setting the table, but Trunks was nowhere in sight. “Hey mom, where’s Trunks?” He asked.

Chi-Chi looked up at him innocently. “Oh, he wasn’t feeling too well so he went to bed.” She lied simply. He put the plastic bag with the seven pickle jars inside on the counter. “Really? I’ll go check on him then.” He said, heading for the stairs.

“But, Gohan your diner will get cold!” She called to him.

He didn’t turn around as he walked. “That’s ok mom. I’ll just heat it up later.” He said, disappearing at the top of the steps. Chi-Chi just scowled.

When Gohan got to the top of the steps and started on down the hallway, his saiyan hearing started to pick up these strange muffled sounds. Like sobbing. When he made it to his door he opened it slowly. “Koi, are you in here?” Light seeped into the dark room and he could see Trunks’ curled up form cringe on the bed. His shoulders were shaking and he was sobbing into a pillow.

Gohan was surprised at this. ‘He was fine when I left!’ He thought worriedly. “Trunks? What’s the matter, aisuru?” He asked coming up to the bed and putting a hand on his shoulder. Trunks shuddered slightly and didn’t look up at him. He just sobbed harder into the pillow, his sound muffled by the cloth.

NOW he was worried. Gohan kicked off his shoes and climbed into bed with him. He layed down next to his Koi, but his face was still hidden in the pillow. He then ran a hand though his hair and wrapped his arms around him. “Koi, what’s wrong? You can tell me.” He whispered softly to him.

Trunks’ sobbing seamed to have quieted down at his touch, and he slowly brought his face up to meet his. Gohan gave a light gasp. His eyes were red and puffy from the crying and both his cheeks were stained red from all the tears. “Aisuru, what happened?” He asked, still shocked at the sight.

Trunks didn’t answer him. He just brought himself closer to Gohan and squeezed him tightly before he continued to cry in his shirt that was still a little cool due to the cold he was just in.

He was *really* confused now. ‘Maybe he’s having a mood swing.’ He thought to himself without really believing it. If this was a mood swing than it was the worst he’d ever had. “I-I’m s-sorry, Gohan.” Trunks choked out through his sobs. “Sorry for what, Tru-chan?” He asked. Surely he couldn’t mean when he asked him to get the pickles!

‘I’m sorry for being alive and for always bothering you.’ Trunks thought, miserably to himself. He hated himself so much right now. For showing weakness, for insulting his mother-in-law, and for making Gohan worry. Again.

“Koi, please tell me what’s wrong!” He asked, getting desperate. Right now he was so worried, he was considering ordering Trunks to tell him. As the dominant mate if he were to give him an order, he would obey, but he couldn’t do that, atteatter how much it may hurt. This was something that was apparently very important, and he shouldn’t betray his Koi’s trust like that. He couldn’t force him to tell if he didn’t want to.

“Gohan?” Trunks whispered to him. He looked at his Love, who was finally facing him, grateful that he was speaking. “What is it?” He asked softly. Trunks sniffed and a few more tears slipped down his face. “I-if you were to ever want to leave me, to be with someone else a-and be happy, I-I’d understand.” He whispered almost painfully, with more tears slipping down his pink cheeks. Gohan was dumbfounded and he almost choked on his own breath at the statement.

“What!?! No, Koi never! I won’t ever leave you!” He said frantically while hugging him tighter and kissing him everywhere on his wet face. “I’d *never* leave you! Where would you get a stupid idea like that!” He asked while wiping away some of his young Koi’s tears.

Trunks didn’t answer him. His tears just came harder as he buried his face in Gohans chest. “I-I’m so sorry!” He choked out. Gohan felt like crying himself with the knowledge that something could bother his beloved this much and not knowing what it was. Trunks sniffed. “I’m a bad mate, and I’m gonna be a bad father, too!” He cried out. The sound was muffled through Gohans chest, but he made out what was said perfectly.

He gave his Koi a reassuring squeeze before lifting his face up and softly kissing his lips. “Is that what this is about? You’re just worried over the baby? Koi, don’t be afraid, you’ll make a great father and you’re the best mate I could’ve ever asked for.” He whispered and then kissed him again to show that he meant it.

More tears just came from his eyes as he brought his face back to the comfort of Gohans chest and silently cried. Gohan rocked him a little while rubbing his back, making shushing sounds. ‘So this is all just one big depressing mood swing.’ He thought to himself, somewhat relieved. Trunks was just worried over being a father for the first time. A completely normal phase for most young parent-to-be people.

While Gohan was scared too, he felt totally prepared and ready for a child. The idea that Trunks wouldn’t be had never crossed his mind, and the fact that he was the one carrying the child wouldn’t help the situation either. “Oh, I’m so sorry Koi.” He said gently while still rocking him. Trunks didn’t hear him though. He cried himself to sleep in Gohans arms.

He looked down at his sleeping aisuru and kissed his forehead softly before gently getting out of the bed. They were both on the covers, so he just grabbed the side of the blanket and folded it over him so he could sleep. He then kissed his cheek lightly before leaving. ‘I’ll have to do something about this.’ He decided as he went back downstairs.

Chi-Chi was waiting at the table when Gohan walked down, scratching the back of his head with worry. “How is Trunks?” She asked without really caring. “Not so good.” He replied while still thinking about what he should do to help.

“Oh? And why is that?” She asked knowing fully well what the answer to the question was.

Gohan sighed. “He’s asleep now. I guess he’s just afraid to be a father, he just had the biggest mood swing I’ve ever seen him have. I know that phases like this are normal, even you had them when you were pregnant with Goten, but it still hurts seeing him like this.” He said while putting the jars of pickles he bought away into the fridge.

Chi-Chi inwardly smiled, but kept up her outside appearance of worry. “I guess this is just something he’ll have to work out on his own, but you don’t have to worry, sweetie.” She said almost sounding as if she cared. “I’ll be here to watch over him.”

He thought about that for a moment. “Y’know.....that just might be probproblem.” He said while heading for the phone. “W-what?” She asked, half afraid that the little slut told him that she had slapped him. “What do you mean, honey?”

Gohan picked the phone off the wall and started to dial. “Well it’s just that *you’re* the one who’s always here helping him. I should be here more often to be doing that. I almost never have time for him anymore, especially with the papers I have to grade and the holidays coming. Maybe he just feels a little neglected.”

He suddenly started speaking into the phone in a tone that sounded like he were ill. “Yes, this is Professor Son. I just wanted to let you know that I’ve come down with something and won’t be in to work tomorrow............. I don’t know, but my temperature is up and I’ve been getting a little nauseous........Alright, thank you.” Gohan then hung up the phone.

“Skipping work?” Chi-Chi asked disapprovingly. “Don’t start, mom. It’s not really skipping work, it’s calling in sick. I need to be here for Trunks anyway, so you can spend the day with dad if you want. I know how hard you woroundound here, so you could relax too.” He said calmly.

Chi-Chi couldn’t find a way around this at all. Oh well, one day couldn’t matter right? Besides, she *was* getting a little tired of having to look at the fucking tramp all day. She smiled sweetly at him. “You’re right, Gohan, I could use the day off too. This will be nice, and maybe I could get your father to help me with the Christmas decorations too.”

e gee getting them up again, huh?”

She sighed. “Yes. He always forgets to get them up, but when I finally get him out there he just doesn’t want to stop!”

Gohan chuckled as he sat down at the table. His mother had already warmed up his food and placed it before him before sitting down herself. “Thanks, mom.” He said while quickly digging in. Halfway through his second helping, he noticed the empty plate at the seat next to his and frowned slightly. “Did Trunks even eat?” He asked in a worried tone.

“Um...no dear, he didn’t. He just said that he wasn’t feeling well, and then went upstairs.” She replied making sure to watch his facial expressions for signs that he may not believe her. Saiyans *always* ate after all.

Gohans frown deepened at hearing that. Trunks’ mood swing must’ve been worse than he thought. Saiyans *needed* to eat. To skip a meal was practically torture! He would have to make sure Trunks had a big breakfast the next day, especially for the sake of the baby. Chi-Chi inwardly scowled at the worry her son was showing over the useless slut. And she hated him all the more for it. ‘I’ve got him now, so I don’t have to worry. I just need to get him to leave him, and everything will be fine.’

When they were both done eating, they chatted a bit before Chi-Chi said her thanks and prepared to go home. Gohan didn’t want her walking all that way out in the cold so he flew her home and was back in less than fifteen minutes. He had to fly fast. He didn’t want his Koi to wake up with no-one home and then get depressed again.

When he went back upstairs and back into the dark bedroom, he was glad to see that his Koi was still sleeping peacefully and hadn’t moved. He went over to the closet and pulled out a spare blanket before getting undressed. He was in only his boxers when he unfd thd the blanket, that was already on his Love, and gently undid the buttons on his shirt and took it off before he put the spare blanket on top of him and climbed in.

He snuggled up as close to his Koi as he could get. Trunks was still clutching at that tear soaked pillow as if it were his lifeline. Gohan had the slight urge to try and take it away so that Trunks would hold onto him like he always did, but instead he resorted to wrapping his arms around him and resting his head on his soft, purple hair.

Trunks tensed up a bit at the contact before quickly relaxing into it. Gohan then sighed. ‘Where would you get the idea that I would ever want to leave you, Koi?’ He thought worriedly, before kissing his forehead lovingly. “I love you.” He whispered lightly, then drifted off to a dreamless sleep.
