Broken

Super Saiyan 2 Gohan\'s fist landed square in the center of SS2 Vegeta\'s chest. Or rather, it would have if Vegeta\'s arm hadn\'t blocked it. Vegeta returned a volley of punches, finishing with a powerful punch across Gohan\'s face. The Prince laughed as Gohan coughed blood.

\"You\'re pathetic, boy. Even your father is a better Ascended Super Saiyan than you could ever hope to be.\" Vegeta cackled as he drove his fist into Gohan\'s stomach.

The half-blood coughed again, sending splatters of blood from his mouth. Gohan\'s chest heaved as he tried to catch his breath. Then, his ki flame reappeared, burning brighter than the sun above. Gohan tapped into his rage once again, increasing his strength and speed.

Gohan smashed his fists into Vegeta\'s face, splattering blood from the Prince\'s nose. His aura flaring brilliantly, Gohan brought his fists down onto the back of Vegeta\'s neck, sending Vegeta into a cluster of boulders. He cupped his hands by his side, and a familiar bluish ball of energy began to gather

\"Ka.....me....ha....me...\" he chanted, continuing to gather power.

\"HA!\"

The mighty beam roared down from the sky towards Vegeta. The Prince laughed, bringing his hands together in front of him. \"FINAL FLASH!\" he yelled, sending another titanic beam into the air. The two titans collided, their combined light nearly blinding the Saiyans.

As the blast faded away, Vegeta floated back into the sky, facing Gohan. Vegeta\'s eyes widened in surprise. \"So, you made it!\" he said happily.

Gohan blinked, then he felt a jarring pain in the middle of his back. He gasped, dropping out of Super Saiyan 2 as he fell towards the ground. Turning as he fell, Gohan saw who had hit him. An orange and blue gi...

\"Dad? why..\" Gohan whispered as he hit the ground hard.

\"What\'s going on down there?!\" Kibitokai questioned, throughly confused. \"it\'s like Goku\'s not himself anymore!\"

\"He\'s not.\" pronounced the Elder Kai. Seeing the younger\'s expression., he shook his head. \"Another lesson you missed. I was afraid something like this would happen...\"

Kibitokai stammered, \"You knew about this? Goku and Vegeta have practically killed Gohan!! Why didn\'t you say anything?!\"

Elder Kai yelled back, \"Because I don\'t go jumping to conclusions like you! I had to make sure this was fusion syndrome!\"

\"Fusion Syndrome?\"

Elder Kai sighed. \"Yes, when Goku and Vegeta became Vegito, it was supposed to be permanent. Their minds became one along with their bodies, unlike, say, Gotenks, where the minds remain separate.\"

\"You mean...?\"

\"Yes, Goku\'s not acting like himself because he isn\'t himself. His mind is broken, part of it apparently went to Vegeta when the fusion was forced apart.\"

\"But why isn\'t Vegeta suffering the same?\"

Elder Kai huffed. \"Stop interrupting, I\'m getting to that! Vegeta\'s personality is stronger in Vegito. His mental facilities stayed together better after the split.\"

Kibitokai nodded. \"Sir, look! Goku and Vegeta are doing the Fusion Dance. Won\'t that fix the problem?\"

\"WHAT?! NO, GOHAN, STOP THEM!\"

The jolt to Gohan\'s mind knocked him awake. The half-Saiyan burst from the rocks, hurling Ki blasts at the two full-bloods. The Dance interrupted, Goku and Vegeta snarled like wild animals. Gohan floated up.

\"Dad, Vegeta, I don\'t know what\'s wrong with you, but I\'ll help you if you calm down.\" he said, trying to calm the storm brewing in their eyes.

In response, Vegeta powered up to Super Saiyan 2 again and charged at Gohan. Goku stayed back, concentrating his own powers. Gohan smashed his fist into Vegeta\'s cheek, knocking the prince back into Goku.

Gohan frowned harshly. \"I\'m sorry, dad. But you\'ve forced me into this...\" Gohan clenched his fists, activating his most powerful transformation. A ki flame rushed around him, though his eyes and hair remained dark. Gohan was now Mystic Gohan, the impossibly strong ability given to him by Elder Kai.

Goku snarled again and transformed into a Super Saiyan 3. He stared defiantly into his son\'s eyes, daring him to attack.When Gohan didn\'t, Goku did.

The Super Saiyan 3 dashed forward and threw several punches to his son\'s chest. Grabbing Gohan\'s shoulders, SS3 Goku flipped over him and delivered a charged kick to the back of Gohan\'s neck. Goku turned just in time for Mystic Gohan\'s fist to smash into his stomach.

Goku gasped harshly, depowering from Super Saiyan 3. He had forgotten how much stronger Gohan was in this transformation. Gohan\'s eyes, impassive, watched his father. \'What the hell\'s wrong with Dad?\' Gohan wondered. then, the Mystic warrior backflipped, barely dodging the Destructo-Dick hurled by Vegeta.

\"Really, Vegeta, did you think that would - AAH!\" Gohan tried to cover his eyes, but it was too late. Goku\'s Taiyoken had worked, and Gohan was blinded and disoriented.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, the full-bloods assumed the beginning pose of the Dance...

\"Fuuuuuu...sion! HA!\"

Gohan\'s vision cleared, and a new warrior stood before him. Wearing the standard fusion outfit, a black vest and white pants, Gogeta smiled in dark satisfaction.

\"What\'s wrong, son? Don\'t want to play with your old man?\" Gogeta laughed as he transformed into a Super Saiyan 2.
